Oh don't feel too bad lol! I JUST got rid of my 7 year old Dell Dimension 4600 a few months ago. I used it for five years~ Just now sold it to a friend of mine after upgrading it and changing out that horrible case it had (Thing was a Bword to change though. Dell really tries to make their computers cases nonchanging.)

My computer's about 4-6 years old, something around that. I'm not sure, it used to belong to my grandfather. I've had it for 2 years but I'm not sure how long he had it for. It got a new MB like earlier this year. And without ReadyBoost it has one huge continuous heart attack. xD

Save up money, go to newegg.com, look around, research, and order parts to create your own, or upgrade your current one. That's what I did~

Well getting a job is quite imposible right now

Here's a more updated and detailed specs of my comp.

OS: Stripped down version of Microsoft Windows XP 64Bit Edition.
Motherboard: ASUS M3A78-T
Processor: AMD Phenom 8650 Triple core 2.31 GHz
Memory: 2.00 GB of ram (I used to have 4 but I put the other 2 into the guest machine, I have noticed almost no differences in performance)
Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260 running at 1600x900
Soundcard: HT OMEGA CLARO (not sure of the model number) I run 2 RCA brand floor standing speakers at 160 watts 8 ohms each to listen to music and play games. I can turn them up loud enough that I can scream at someone right next to me and they wouldn't be able to understand a word I said, or hear me for that matter.  ^_^
Hard drives: 100gb system drive, 500gb, 230gb, and 350gb Storage drives.
Power supply: 700 watt Coolmax CU-700B
Case: Old beige Super brand full tower case.

I have only 3 fans in this case and a huge Processor heat sink with a 120mm fan, this thing is pretty darn quite except for the video card blower.
It also stays very cool (very as in if you touch the top of the heatsink it feels like room tempeature).

Oh yeah and here's a pic just for fun, it ain't pretty but it is very well built and works beautifully.

Dude. I have that case. Holy crap. I got it from my dad forever ago and stored it away, seeing though I had almost no use for it since I had other computers I was working with. Those towers are huge.

Just out of curiosity are you willing to part with it?
I'm looking for a good parts case, I mainly want the hard drive mounting bays.

I'd love to help you out on that, but it's my only extra case. Plus, it's two states away right now at my mother's lol

Try looking around at local schools. Sometimes they get rid of their old computers and don't care if someone takes the ones they're ridding of.

I browse yard sales and peddlers malls quite a bit too, not to mention amateur radio conventions (which is where I bought this case).

I'll find another one some time in the near future as I'm sure they made thousands of them, It's only a matter of time.
