No idea if it's legal, but when I was a kid grandpa would tie my sled to his moped and drive me around on the ice. A friend of mine also had a friend do something similar only with a car instead of a moped.

And other days we built a single big one that was lying down and played surgeons with it (Creds to Calvin and Hobbes for that idea)
