Well, it did have some effect. It removed the actual numbers, but those darn patches of the original texture are still there.

I also checked the texture, and I didn't miss anything either.

Perhaps the roughness metallic thing is the background.
Try replacing that with empty as well when you come back. Do the same thing, I'm sure you can figure it out.

In the block of code for each board number you also see "Fa-18_diff1" or something, with "true"

Fa-18-diff1/2 are the default textures and true means that it's looking for the textures in dedicated folder for the default resources. So I suspect we disabled the board number, but it's still loading the texture behind it from the default folder.

Hence I that I have to change those to the name of my own skin and change the statement to false so it looks for it inside my folder.

I think it has to do with the weird way the board numbers work.

The board numbers aren't just pasted on Everytime you change it. Instead they consist of three digits of vertical rows of numbers 0 to 9.

There's an animation that rolls these rows of digits to form the correct number that works exactly like a mechanical counter!

So I guess that's why it needs that bit of texture under it. A bit to layer under the digits so the correct board numbers are visible, while the rest of the texture goes over the rolls to hide them from view
