Cheza, you know how you can make Woofs more interesting as a species? Give them a symbiotic relation with the sap trees instead of just a parasytic one!

Instead of the Woof's just chewing a hole in the trees, and removing the sap, you can make it so that the trees voluntarily release the sap to feed the woofs then in return, wich, for example, protect the tree from a natural predator / parasytic creature, or another territorially competing species of trees!

This could give you a heel to the species, instead of just having a perpetually hammered bunch of dogs resembeling cats, that sit around all day drinking tree sap!

Just an idea, and stuff...

The relationship between woofs and the sap trees already kinda works like that (the woofs eat the sap and stick around near the trees which allows them to grow undisturbed), except for the fact that the trees are technically enslaving the woofs by making them dependent on the sap. As the winter approaches and the trees no longer produce sap woofs become aggressive because withdrawals, and then they migrate for long distances to watch the trees in a different part of their native world. Woofs can (and should) live without the sap, but seeing as homeworld-woofs are fairly primitive and set in their ways, wary of outsiders, and just not able to (or even willing to) leave homeworld partially due to their dependencies on the trees, they don't really realize they should ditch the sap.

Dgmw, I don't know how much pain you're in. But, I have broken my ankle once and as a me: active, and cabin-fever suffering track doggo, had to spend two entire weeks within the confinements of my home's walls...
