I was pretty sheltered, honestly, and my family still treats me like a "little cutie pie" kid and it's infuriating. I'm not trusted to do anything right myself, so I barely trust myself anymore.
When I was 10 years old, I asked for pistachios at an amusement park vendor and my dad kept acting like I didn't know what they were or that they had shells, although I had them plenty of times before and I kept telling him.
Imagine that sort of stuff but when you're 21. Yeah.
When you have kids, make sure to not baby them too much as they grow up. It really screws them up later in life.
