Drawn From an Hour Glass
Shattered glass and broken hearts will
Open up a new dawning day
But the light is dull and the glow is faint
Just barely able to shimmer
And a cold wind blows over an echoing stream
It calls a clean soul to come closer and save it
But the world is dark and dirty
Everyone is run by a clock
Take a step back and you just may see it
The morning dew on an innocent leaf
But what do you care you have somewhere else to be
Have we flushed our souls down the drain?
Burrowed deep inside is shrouded love
A purity in its own
But guess what, your train is leaving in five
No one has the time to listen to me
So we sleep and we cry our sorrows away
Lying through your teeth because your boss told you to
I don’t want to hear your complaints
Give them to someone who’s got the time
