Maybe not a whole song. Give us a link to your best, worst, or let us hear how rusty you are.

I'll bring out my guitar and see if I can record anything some time. I'm sure I'm totally rusty with what very little I did know.
I'll see about it later, but I have to go spend most of the day offline for today. Can't wait to hear how much you guys rock/suck.

Oh, I just realized something. I may have to actually use a pick this time. I cut my nails yesterday. :snicker:

Try recording straight into your computer. All you need is an adapter for your instrument cable (to make it go from quarter inch to the normal
eighth inch jack size) and a sound program.

A few seconds of me playing Seek and Destroy by Metallica. Warning: I'm VERY rusty, was sitting infront of the computer, and was played
with short finger nails. I normaly don't use a pick although I don't like playing with such short finger nails.

So, hauteville, what do you do in your band? Guitar, editing, vocals,..?

i play bass mainly... half the synths.... and half the editing. and whenever we need someone to do "dramatic spoken word"

oh and that recording was rather good, you're timing was a bit inconsistent but can't be helped if you're on you're own. showed skill.... next time try getting ahold of a backing track or something to help your timing.

:snicker: I mostly do my timing with muscle memory.
If I start "playing" again I won'thave to worry about that much.
Although I tend to play things for myself so mood can effect how I time things too.

And I forgot to mention I had to have the volume down and stuff. My brother was trying to sleep a few feet away.

I'm glad you think it's OK. At least it won't take much to get back into the swing of things.
I just have to get used to the strings on my fingers again....or find me some nickel strings.

did you mic the amp? an good way to record is to get the adapter (can't remember the name... or the measurement....) to get from a big jack to a little one, plug that into you're computer's sound-input, you still have to put the volume down so it doesn't distort too badly, but it means that you're not gonna make too much noise.

I had my ZOOM pedal hooked into my sound card. ^.^ That's why I had to sit infront of the computer.
I couldn't mic my Dad's amp on a sunday like this. :snicker:
It's an OLD Peavy standard with 200? Watts rms per channle and it's hooked up to a 15" loud speaker type inclosure.
Well, I could do it if my parents weren't home or inside. I'm kinda short for mics though.
I'd either have to use a pair of headphones or use my camcorder's mic.
I'd get some unwanted noise with them, but I could at least get the most out of my guitar. Not having to worry about overloading
the sound card or whatever.

it was hilarious when we managed to downtune our gutair with a certain type of whammy-esque effect that made it so low it turned into clicking noises.... then turn it up.... it blew up one of our amps....

Yeh, gotta be careful with those popping noises. I once had the amp outside and I turned the bass all the way up and kicked the valume up some. It didn't take much to get the house rattling. :peace:

If you ever want some extra material to mess around with let me know. If not just for inspiration.
I normally like to play with a classic heavy metal/blues sound. I do mess with different sounds though.
