Am I a furry?
« on: July 22, 2016, 04:26:54 PM »
Hey everyone...

So at the beginning I want to say, I don't have anything to the fandom, beacuse I joke alot with my friend, which he hates furries, bronies, and other fandoms (well, I kinda hate bronies too) but also I have a other friend, which he's a furry, and he's a really nice guy, so yeah, i'm not hating or saying other things about it, but, we joke alot that sometimes i think that being a furry is a nice thing. I found this forum just to ask, well, professionalists.

I know that it kinda sounds weird but I had a dream where I was wearing a fursuit, hanging out with some people also wearing a fursuit, and I really enjoyed it. I also think many times that wearing a fursuit and hanging out with people who are from the fandom, would be awesome. I'm not very interested in the fandom, like sitting all the time and watching drawings of people as their fursonas, but it seems really great, to be a furry and doing things that they like. Oh yeah, i also though that having a fursona would be a awesome thing, having your "alter ego". I also played the game called Amorous, which this game sucked me for long time, and the way that I really get in interaction with furries in there was immersing for me (not minding sex scenes that i skipped fast to get rid of it).

So yeah, what do you think guys, i'm not very interested in these all things, but I think that it's really enjoying.
I'm not a furry, but I think that I am... :/

Cheers, Radek

If you know enough to ask the question, you know what the answer will be.

At the very least, you have furry tendencies IMO. Don't worry, it won't kill you. Personally, I hated myself for being a furry forever but I eventually learned to embrace it. Maybe you will too, if you end up doing any sort of exploration.

I actually like furries, but being them is not really a thing to be proud of. But ill keep your advice, to embrace it.

First of all, let me welcome you to the forums - and to the fandom. If you'll stay with us a little bit longer, you'll see that we're much friendlier and more, well, normal than the internet likes to portray us.

Being a furry isn't something be or not be proud of. It's like being proud of your nationality, or of your hair color, or of playing Pokémon. It's not really something you do or "achieve". It's an interest, nothing more and nothing less. In the end, being a furry really just menas that you like anthropomorphic animal characters.

Now, this isn't so bad, is it? Of course there's more to it. Fursuiting, roleplay, enjoying and actually making the art. But in the end, if you like anthros, as we call them, you're a furry. The rest is just "something more" really. And as there's nothing to be proud of, it's also nothing to be ashamed or afraid of. It's just as it is. As you go through life you'll see (kudos if you get the quote) that everyone is unique and has his own quirks, weirdnesses, and particular interests. Furries just happen to count a love for anthropomorphic characters among these.

So, if you're interested and want to discover more about the fandom, feel free to browse the forums, get to know a few people, maybe check other websites, too, like DeviantArt or FurAffinity. PM me if you need links to some artists I really like. Who knows, you might discover a hidden love for some of them? In any case, do not feel under pressure. Take it easy and explore the fandom. People here are very nice and welcoming and I'm sure you'll have a great time.

Again, welcome, and have a nice day.

S.

Thanks man, ill be looking forward to it.
