Do pokemon count as a different subgroup, or are all individual pokemon a different subgroup?

Pokemon in general would be the subgroup, and each Pokemon would be the species~

I'll be including each species of animal, possible combinations, etc. which will eventually end up in a very lengthy post, but I'll be doing it for the purpose of data collection. I'm starting with my species survey now.
