PC rant

Ok I have got to ask. But why is it so important to be PC now a days? Don't get me wrong I dont go out there and intentionally insult people, or try to offend them. But I am sick and tired of having to walk around eggshells around everyone. Is it just me?

I'm not really sure what this question is about unless you're talking about the only other competitors being Linux and Mac being considered inferior by many? Myself I don't care, I just use a PC for gaming. I like Mac's desktop design in Snow Leopard and Linux is really fast for web browsing since nothing else is holding down the RAM.

I hear ya man. Like I said in my OP. I don't go around intentionally trying to offend someone. But at the same time Im not going to go out of my way to make sure no one can possibly be offended by what I say.

Political Correctness is overrated. That said, I do think it's important to be polite, especially to strangers.

Unless the sorry SOB has nearly KILLED YOU by talking on his cell phone while driving. In which case, rip the fool's vehicle into paper thin pieces and then crush his cell phone. That'll teach him!!!

The thing about political correctness is, no matter on how large a scale you employ it, you'll end up offending someone. I remember in seventh grade my homeroom teacher said we had to say 'secret snowman' instead of 'secret santa' because 'santa' was offensive. I told my mom about it, and she was livid. She called up my homeroom teacher and everything

That kind of Political Correctness is apalling! I mean really, it's insanity! Going very un PC myself for a minute, the people who would actually get offended by the mention of Santa, in my mind, aren't worth being Politically Correct for. Santa is a (expletive deleted) idea for crying out loud!!!

Very true, but I've found that more often than not, most people are put off by how passionate I get about certain things. Like PETA or the Westboro Baptist Church, two groups that I will never be politically correct for.

All that needs is a little moderation; you just have to remember that people listen better to calm and reasonable arguments (then again, this is coming from someone who avoids argument/debate almost all the time )

But, so long as you're against PC, and therefore protecting the inalienable right of free speech and free expression, it's all good.
