Title: Mafia2: Cupcakes (GAMEOVER)
Post by: White Mage on December 19, 2016, 06:52:27 PM
Mafia, a game of psychological warfare- where communication and deception are the keys to victory.

What is mafia?
The general concept behind mafia is a conflict between an uninformed majority, and an informed minority. The game is divided between these two factions vying for power. The first faction is the uniformed majority; they are called the “town”. The second faction is the informed minority; they go by the title of “mafia”. The difference between the two is that the mafia goes into the game knowing each other, and knowing who is town. Meanwhile, town only knows that they themselves are town. Normal townies have no idea who else is town, and who is mafia, going into a game.

Aside from those differences the town and the mafia each have separate conditions that have to be met to win the game. For town to win they must identify who belongs to the mafia, and eliminate them out of the game. The mafia’s goal is to avoid getting caught, and gradually bump off the town until the town no longer outnumbers the mafia.

How is it played?

The game is broken into two different cycles: Day, and Night.

During the day all the players in the game talk amongst themselves and attempt to further their own faction’s win condition. During the discussion, players have the option to vote for someone they find suspicious enough to lynch and eliminate from the game, and the lynch will go through if one player gets the majority of the votes. Once a player has been lynched their true alignment is revealed, and the day ends. The Day Phase will also end if the allotted time for deciding who to lynch runs out. This is when the Night Phase begins.

During the Night Phase, all members of the town are “asleep”. So all discussion stops in the thread proper where the game takes place. The mafia then gathers in secret and decides who to night kill, and how to use make use any other night actions at their disposal. Any townies that have night abilities would also utilize their abilities at this time as well. Then once the time allotted to the night phase runs out it becomes day again. At the start of the next day the person modding the game announces who has died, and their alignment. Dead/lynched players leave the game and can no longer communicate with any of the living players.

The two cycles continue alternating until one faction wins.

A word on Roles
I suppose I should talk more about roles. Most player’s roles are considered "vanilla", meaning they have no special abilities, or modifiers. The mafia equivalent to a vanilla townie is a "Goon".  Players with roles that have special abilities, typically utilize these abilities at night. To use their role’s ability the player must PM the mod of their intended target during the appropriate window of opportunity. Both factions can have special roles; some are even shared, meaning either side might have them.
There are many roles, these are some common ones:

Cop: Can investigate another player at night. The mod then informs them whether the target in question is town, or mafia.
Doctor: Can protect one other player at night, preventing them from dying.
Vigilante: Town aligned player that can perform a night kill.
Tracker: Town or Mafia aligned, selects a player, and sees who they visit at night.
Roleblocker: Town or Mafia, aligned player that chooses one player at night, preventing the player from using their night ability.
Strongarm: Mafia aliened player that makes the faction kill unblockable, (typically one time use).
GodFather: Mafia aligned player that appears innocent when inspected by a cop.
If you are having any trouble understanding how the game works then here is a simple but effective instructional flash.
 http://mikeburnfire.deviantart.com/art/Mafia-Tutorial-31409818 (http://mikeburnfire.deviantart.com/art/Mafia-Tutorial-31409818)

Rules for proper play (MUST READ!!!)
1)To vote you must bold your choice, and leave it on a separate line. Example:
 Vote: Grendel

2) You may do the same to UN-vote. Example:
 UnVote: Grendel
Please keep in mind that you may move your vote where ever you like, but you only have one vote at any given time. Therefore moving you vote will automatically nullify your last vote.

3) It is always good to think about how close your vote puts somebody to a lynch. IF your vote puts a player one away from a lynch then please state so afterward. Because if a majority vote has been reached then it cannot be undone, and the next time I visit the thread that player will be lynched, and the day will end regardless what votes are placed after.  Example:
In a 9 player game the majority decision requisites 5 votes. The player that placed the 4th vote should announce “L-1” in the same post. L-1 means that the slot is now 1 vote away from bieng lynched. This should help prevent accidental lynches.

4)Be an active poster. By signing up you are accepting a game to keep up with. If you sign up but then never contribute then you’re letting the other players down. If there are irl issues you’re contending with, please contact me instead of pretending the game doesn’t exist.
I’ve you’re buzy irl, but want to play. Shoot to post ever 24 hours with something game related. Even something as small as, “I think player x is town, and I still think that player y is scummy”

5)During the night phase nobody may post in the thread proper.

6) DO NOT talk about the game outside of the thread proper unless your role dictates otherwise. You may PM questions at anytime about mafia theory, but my advice won’t extend outside of that. The mafia may communicate outside of the thread proper with each other, but may not talk about the game outside of their faction.

7) DO NOT quote the role PM I send you. While a convincing fake role PM can be made, it’s still cheating from my perspective to quote your real one. You may paraphrase what your role is if, or when you claim it.

8) It is optimal to claim your role when put at L-1. You may claim at anytime, or even make a fake claim, but doing so when there is no need makes you a prime mafia target when otherwise you wouldn’t have been.

9) Each Day phase will last up to 1 irl week, 7 days, each Night phase will last 2 irl days. However, the day phase can be ended prematurely with a lynch.

10) Please don’t spam the game. While joke posting is all well and good, don’t forget you have to win the game at some point!

11) The term Mafia is interchangeable with the terms “Werewolf”, “Witch”, “killers”, “Mole”, and “Scum”. If somebody throws these terms around they are talking about the mafia. For example, being called “scum” is not an insult in this game; it means you’re a mafia suspect.
I personally prefer “mafia” because it stays true to flavor. While mechanically Mafia, Werewolf, and ToS are the same, and Spy fall are similar they all use a different flavor for their roles.

12) On a last note, remember this is a game where people lie to you, and you may have to lie to other people. You therefore, will be accused of lying at some point. Please don’t take things down to a personal/emotional level. It is a game after all.

I will create a new thread for the game itself once I can get enough players, my goal is 13. If I can’t get that many then I will close sign ups in 5 days. If I can’t get any more than 9 players to sign up then I won’t run the game.

To sign up, Denote it by typing "/IN"!
Also, please post your preferred name, or abbreviation, so I can use it when keeping track of every bodies votes later. :)

Awesome, we just need FIVE more players for a complete roster!

It looks like this might actually work out.

I'm getting excited! :D

ALSO, I think I'll keep using this for the thread proper after sign ups are done. I was going to crate a new thread, but its out of habit from else where, and not needed here. Last thing I want is to annoy anybody.

Q:To the players that have signed up, what should be the flavor/theme of the game that I'll use when writing the flavor text?

I was thinking of a tropical vacation. Because I'm not digging these winter chills. But if you all are in favor for something different let me know!

Sounds very fun! I think your idea for tropical vacation sounds cool. Maybe something like Central America, or Hawaii!

If we're to be doing this like a roleplay, I'd be Fulvius Andrzej, but if not, I'd be fine with my forum name.

You can play as a fursona, that was why I said to formally state what name you wanted me to use for you in the Vote Counts, and Write Ups.

You can rp as long as you aren't straying far away from the point of the game: figuring out who the killer(s) are amongst you. Like if you wanted to add some flavor text at the start of the day for the fun of it that's cool. It might even get some discussion started at the start of the game when there isn't much else to go off of lol.

Title: Re: [Game Sign Ups] MAFIA!
Post by: White Mage on December 23, 2016, 04:32:51 AM
We need at least four more.

(Why I'm so stuck on having no less then nine players)

-Odd number set ups produce statistically more balanced win rates for both sides then even numbered ones. So that throws out 6, 8, 10, and 12.

-Also odd number sets ups are more likely to create a lylo (Lynch or lose), then a mlyo (Mislynch or lose). I would rather have a lylo because the winning team will be decided in the day phase instead of mlyo, where town loses at night. Losing at night is somewhat anti climatic, (and its more writing on my part).

Side note: Lylo would be 2 town to 1 mafia. Mlyo would be 3 town to one mafia. In mylo town doesn't lose when they mislynch, they lose that night instead.

-Proportionally I like a ratio of about a forth the population being mafia, but in any given game there has to be at least two mafia starting out. Anything below say... 7 players in a roster is incredibly mafia sided. Even then I'd say that 7 is still a bit too easy for the mafia.

In a perfectly played game of mafia with 7 players, 2 of which are mafia. The mafia win Day two. In a game with nine players the mafia win Day three. While it takes longer for the mafia to win, it prevents the game from being too short, and allots town some room to screw up. Which often happens lol.

But yeah, the magic roster numbers for me are 9, 11, and 13. I'm hoping for one of those three.

I mean a friend I've been nagging to play mafia for a while now.

Since this game is shaping up to be more casual friendly then the games of mafia I normally play I think she could handle it easier with her busy schedulable.

Plus she's a furry. So she'd fit right in.  :)

I'll play as my fursona Tsaenoa, Tsae for short. He's a lion from a medieval fantasy setting. If the setting for the game is modern, he'll be a little confused by technology, but otherwise he'll adapt to whatever the setting is.

It was a beautiful day out on the beach. The majority of the beach was packed to the gills with vacationers. However, a small section of the beach was reserved for guests, and staff, of the hotel “Evening Palm Tree”.

Aside from the luxury of having a space reserved for them the guests of the “Evening Palm Tree” also had a complimentary breakfast bar out by the exit of the beach. Though if free food isn’t interesting there were a variety of restaurants across the street from the hotel. There is a gated pool on the opposite side of the hotel. There was a Surfing/swimming instructor’s hut near the high tide mark on the beach. There was a small office where the entire beaches security resides in the parking lot. And lastly there was the sand dunes that separated the hotel from the beach itself.

While in previous weeks the beach was bustling today it seemed nearly deserted. This was likely due to all the odd incidents that have been occurring the past couple weeks. At least a dozen guests of the Evening Palm Tree have ended up in bad accidents that left them hospitalized. Then there were other incidents where seemingly benign individuals had been banned from going to the beach by beach security for unknown reasons. Many of the guests got bad vibes from all these incidents. Resulting in many of the remaining guests leaving, or otherwise avoiding the beach directly outside the hotel.

Today there are only about a dozen left on the beach outside of the Evening Palm Tree hotel. The ones left were making light of their position, or were perhaps even interested at seeing what would happen next.

-----------

Rocco Taco was out probing the sands with his metal detector. He was hoping to find something spectacular to take home as a keepsake.

Fable and Tsaenoa were out by the breakfast bar sharing sketches of the beachscape they had made yesterday. Fable had taken full advantage of this trip to sharpen their art skills. Tsaenoa himself was relieved to be away from the city, the switch from his world to this modern one had left him emotionally exhausted. Air wolf sat off to the side, half heartily eating brunt pancakes. He wanted to go to an actual restaurant, yet at the same time, really didn’t want to spend his funds.

Kyle sat looking out at the ocean. His gaze unwavering. Despite his relaxed composure it was clear that he was thinking deeply.

Marble Shmarble, and Max stand by the Surfing instructor’s hut. Both were new to the sport and wanted to get somebody who knew what they were doing to help them out. Off in the distance Marble spotted Fulvius Andrzej a professional surfer. Marble waves Fulvius over. Unfortunately Fulvius had already started paddling out into the ocean with his surf board, and missed Marble. Once Fulvius is in the zone there is no interrupting him.

Michen Was off by themselves setting up an umbrella and chair. Michen intended to read their favorite comic series all the way through in one sitting.

Lastly there was White Mage setting up his towel, and Umbrella. He lays down and falls asleep.

Many hours later White mage was found unconscious on the beach, with a nasty bruise on his forehead a bad sun burn. He was promptly carted away to the hospital. Upon reawakening He displayed symptoms of a heat stroke and decided that once he got out of the hospital it’d be best if he left for home.

Quote
Hello, White Mage, you are a Regular Tourist, (Vanilla townie).

Abilities:
-During the day phase, you may use your vote and voice to lead town to victory.

Win Condition:
You win when all threats have been eliminated and there is at least one town-aligned player alive.

----------

Everybody on the beach had gathered together. One of them spoke up, “Listen, I saw White Mage setting up an umbrella when he came here this morning. When he was found there was no umbrella to be seen. Then there was the bruise on his forehead. White Mage obviously didn't knock himself out. Somebody had to have purposely bopped him over the head, and taken the umbrella away... One of us…” There was a pause.

“Are you sure?” another voice says, "why would one of us do this?"

“Yes, I know its sounds dumb at first glance but...” the original voice continued, “ Look at all the change accidents that has been happening to every one. I don’t think all these accidents, are actually accidents. Its all just too frequent, too unlikely, for it all to be by chance. I think somebody is intentionally trying to get rid of the people visiting the beach.”

There was silence, then slowly but surely, everybody began muttering in agreement. “We need to get to the bottom of this!” “I won’t let my vacation be ruined!” “There really is something going on here!” “I bet the saboteurs are why the reason the free food is so bad!” “I should have known something was off here” Each comment was followed with a chorus of “Yeah's'”, Yes’es”, and mummers of agreement.

Soon eyes looked around with a new suspicion towards their fellow vacationers. Everybody wondered… “Who is doing this?”

(Not necessarily. I can use my head if I need to. Like burying someone in sand, carefully moving stuff with my mouth, haunt people at night to the point of them being unable to get any kind of sleep, leaving the fridge open to mess with the food... Yes, I am limited if I don't want to be recognised easily, but there are still a lot of options left without actually attacking physically. And besides, if I am innocent, the maffia could decide to make scratches on a victim that make it look like they were attacked by a feral. By doing this, they can actively try to put the blame on me. It can actually makes for an interesting concept if you really think about it, no?)

*tilts head* no I'm not upset, maybe a little disgruntled about my food being burnt but that seems normal to me. And the drinking is me just trying to enjoy my vacation. Plus I don't like to start fights and I had no problem with White mage it I would have just talked to him about it. Now if you'd like to get to know me before accusing me next time feel free to join me for a drink and we'll talk *leans back propping up my feet and takes a so of my drink*

Max stated to walk away from the group back towards the surf instructors hut, he wasn't planning to let another person having an accident throw away what he'd been waiting for all day if he could avoid it. He was still close enough to hear the first few accusations starting to form as the group turned on itself and figured it would probably turn ugly sooner or later as tensions built.

Michen turned and gave an odd look to Max. They definitely seemed to find it a bit strange he backed off like that. Michen looked back at the group where the discussion was slowly getting hotter, and then decided they would probably do the same if things got too bad. Still, the situation was strange. Michen got a bit mad themself when they got sour milk and burnt fish at breakfast. Michen shook themself almost involuntary by just the thought of the taste from it.

"Well, I suppose I'm doing as good as anyone else here, what with everything going on."
She glances subtly around the group, listening in to conversation, trying to catch up on what she missed while she was out surfing. She had rushed back to the shore as soon as she saw Mage carted away by the paramedics and wondered to herself if this was related to all the other accidents that had been happening lately. The murmurs around seemed to confirm.
She noticed Michen looking away from the group, and followed their gaze towards the individual walking away from the group.
With something so serious going on, why would someone be walking away...?
She shakes her head, noting this thought, and returns to the conversations.

(white mage, how does this voting system work?)

You did read the OP right?  x_x

Quote

Basically- type "vote:playerxyz", with the bold tag over it on its own line. Then to unvote you do the same thing except "Unvote:playerxyz"

Like

Vote:The Chef

Because they suck at cooking!
-------------------
Then I record it next time I post a Vote count.
-------------------
Later when you could be like, "Oh wait the chef is an npc, what am I doing?"

Unvote:The Chef
-------------------
And I'll note that change for later. :)

Much of the group stood around looking at each other uncomfortably. Everybody was waiting for somebody else to make the first move. It took so long for things to pick up that Marble Schmarble walked off to the folding chairs near the sand dunes, and decided to take a nap while everybody else sorted things out.

Some accusations were made, others just made small talk. It was nearing evening and everybody was still ill at ease, and unsure how to progress. It wasn’t long before everybody started looking for an easy target to blame. It was at that moment they realized that Marble was no longer in their midst. They begin grumbling about how he wasn’t helping out, how he conveniently disappeared as accusations started, how… there really wasn’t anybody better to kick out.

They surrounded Marble. One asked, “We’ve seen how you are not participating in this discussion Marble”. Everybody awaited Marble’s response… He snored loudly. Another asked, “So who do you think is sabotaging the beach”… Marble rolled over in his sleep. One more spoke up, “If you’re guilty, don’t wake up…” Marble started snoring again. Everybody looked at each other, “Sounds like a confession to me” someone said.

At that point beach security was called, and marble was promptly kicked out.

Marble Schmarble was a:

It was a new day, and everybody hurried down to the sands to consider yesterday. It was fairly silent, with some chattering here and there. It appears that Marble was town after all? With lunch coming near everybody decided to take a break. It wasn’t like that morning had been particularly useful. Everybody was too wary of making a hasty decision like yesterday.

Tsaenoa sat down on the hotel steps near Kyle, and Michen. Aside from a short hello, Tsaenoa had little to say to them as he unpacked his lunch, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. He wasn’t particularly fond of peanut butter and jelly, but he was too tired to fix something of more substance. He sighed and took a bite. A minute later he yowled in pain, tears began streaming down his face. He spat the bits of sandwich out while he stuttered, “W-what in the world!” The sandwich fell to the ground revealing that it wasn’t a peanut butter and jelly sandwich at all, but a peanut butter and jellyfish sandwich!

Kyle, and Michen, stood gawking at first. Then Kyle rushed over to Tsaenoa and said, “Here let me take you to the hospital!”

Tsaenoa tried to respond with “thank you”, but his mouth had become so swollen from the lacerations that it came out like, “Thunk hugh.”

Michen called after them, “I’ll go tell the others!”

After later checking out of the hospital Tsaenoa informed the others that he lost his desire to solve the mystery and decided to go home before something worse could happen. He was a:

Walking back to the group Max leaned against a wall nearby, noting that people were still pointing the finger at him. "So, still just stabbing at the dark I see. Letting someone point a finger and following it to place the blame? not that I blame you, if I wasn't so level headed I'd likely be in there with you pointing fingers. If you want to blame me, go ahead, just make sure you're the one blaming me and not being lead by someone else."

The day quickly became a showdown at the snack bar. Accusations were being thrown, skepticism was thrown, and food was thrown. Eventually Max’s chill, aloof nature catches up to him. Everyone has been pretty vocal… except Max. As the pressure mounted Max attempted to keep up. However his attempts to disarm the crowd didn’t go over very well. As sharp as his toast throwing arm was nobody was very appreciative at getting toast thrown at them as a counter argument.

The crowd started pressing in on him, frustrated. As a last ditch effort Max comes clean with his identify as a member of beach security. He was trying to keep a low profile while he was investigating the various incidents around the hotel. Max came across as genuine, and even his harsh contractors realized he was in fact security after seeing his credentials.
Max was relieved. He turns and says, “Okay, with that out of the way, what next?”

Everyone looked around. It was late. “Maybe we should call it a day”, was where the line of discussion was going.

Suddenly Max’s phone goes off. There was an awkward pause as everybody listened to Max repeat, “Yes, uh huh, yeah” over and over again. Then Max gave a sharp, “What?”. Max puffed his chest out and looked very displeased. He replied to the speaker with, “okay thank you for telling me.” After which Max hangs up.

He turns to the others and says, “Well, I’ve been relocated to the other end of the beach”. There was a pause before he continued, “The head office seems to feel that with the lack of clientele here at the Evening Palm Tree my usefulness is being squandered here.” He shrugged his shoulders uncomfortably, “I’m sorry guys. Working on the other end of the beach won’t give me the time to be around for these discussions. Well- uh- I guess I’d better get going. Tomorrow is gonna be an early day for me.”

He shuffled his feet as he walked off the site, defeated.  He was:

Fable had a sleepless night, two days in a row with no success.

To help distract themself Fable decided to get up early and go wade in the water of the beach before anybody else got there. Perhaps the warm salt water would rejuvenate some of that original fight sprit they had in previous days.

Fable set up the folding chair they brought from home several yards away from the tide. They stood in the early morning sunrise. It did feel kind of exhilarating. Though, it could also be the manic energy kicking in after getting almost no sleep last night. Looking down they saw the tide running in between their toes. They begin to walk out into the water. Stopping once the water reached up to their chest they feel the ebbing of the tide and waves. After several minutes they start to feel relaxed, and much more at peace. Eventually they feel fully refreshed and ready to take on the world. Even in a world, were at any moment, an awful accident could happen to them. Fable felt ready for it.

Fable heads over to their folding chair to sit down. They sat down. Only for the chair to buckle under the weight, and snap (the chair had been tampered with to break). The metal bars holding the chair together pinned Fable’s legs to their chest. They looked a bit like a crab of some sort with the chair being the shell. Fable struggled to push the bars off, but simply wasn’t strong enough. Frustrated, and in severe discomfort Fable began calling out for help.

Pyraff was coming down the beach to get some early morning surfing in before the daily interrogations started. She found a very disheveled Fable stuck in a folding chair.

She tried to help Fable get unstuck, but it was simply no good. Pyraff left to go fetch the other’s at Fable’s request. Pyraff said that they needed to get Fable out first. Pyraff called the fire department that proceeded to cut Fable out of the chair.

Fable got out okay, but they had badly bruised arms, a sprung back, and their spirit broken. Fable decided to spend the rest of their vacation indoors lying down. Fable was a:

Rocco facepawed when he heard the part about "craving death". "Kyle, I don't crave death. Remember how I was the one who suggested instead of hanging we shave them, paint them purple, and put a lockable shock collar on them so that no one has to die? I don't want furs dead, I want to try to salvage this vacation for me and everyone else in the least damaging way possible. Ask Air. He knows me better than anyone else. When I see a problem, I try to fix it. I've just really, really messed up lately which is why I'm not going to accuse someone this time unless there are very good reasons."

The day went at a break neck pace.

With Kyle, and Rocco immediately going at each other almost as soon as the day began. The other three looked on in surprise at the intensity between the two of them. They had seen the two harbor suspicions for each other on previous days, but nothing like this. All the under tones had been thrown out the window, and contention had reached a fever pitch. They looked as if they might leap up at any moment to fight each other hand, foot, and tooth.

Michen sat back looking conflicted, perhaps even defeated.

Pyraff, and Air wolf looked back and forth. Closely following the exchange they both seemed to come to the same silent conclusion.

They both got up and surrounded Kyle. Rocco folded his arms, “Looks like we’ve found our guy”. Rocco, pyraff, and Air wolf begin to physically drag Kyle towards the beach security office.
At first Kyle physically resisted them. Attempting to flail out of their grasp. But together they were far too strong for him. Kyle yelled saying, “You are making a mistake!”. The three of them ignored him. They looked on with stone faces as they moved Kyle down the beach. Soon Kyle just gives up.

Kyle was taken to the office and kicked off the beach. He was:
Quote

Win Condition:
You win when all threats have been eliminated and there is at least one town-aligned player alive.

Rocco, Pyraff, and Air wolf returned to Michen. Pyraff stepped up confidently and said, “Good work guys. We’ve eliminated the threat to the beach!” Rocco jostled Air wolf and said, “Haha, yeah, we won!”

“I hope so.” Air wolf says.

Michen seemed uncertain too.

It wasn’t that late into the day, but none of them really found much else to talk about so together the four of them decided to call it a day. They all went out to eat dinner together, Rocco’s treat at one of the local restaurants. Eventually the mood lightened up, and they all became much more confidant that they made the right decision. In the middle of dinner Pyraff excused herself. A couple hours later the three of them had finished up, and headed off to their own apartments.

--/-/-/-/-/-/-/-

Michen dreaded going back to their apartment. It was sooo hard for them to unlock doors…

But to their surprise they came back to their apartment to find beach security camping out there. Michen asked, “Is everything alright”.

One of the security guards clears his throat and walks over to Michen. He casually replies, “Why yes, everything is fine”. After a beat he asks, “So now, Michen was it? You do realize that littering on the beach is against the law right?”

Michen paused, “Why, yes. I wouldn’t I know that?”

The security guard smirks. He pulls a vanilla folder from his vest pocket and says, “Then how do you explain these?” Within the folder there were many photos all of which had a poorly photo shopped Michen standing amongst litter, trash and garbage that washed up onto the beach. There was even a photo of a tipped over trash can, and a mischievous looking Michen standing next to it. The guard put it back into his vest pocket. “These photos were dropped off anonymously at the office earlier tonight” The Guard started, “the suspect in the photos is you correct?”

Michen, mortified, responded, “Yes! No! I mean, that is me, but I didn’t do any of the things in those photos!”

The guard chuckled, “Lets book em’ boys”.

Michen was arrested for littering, and subsequently banned from the beach. Michen was a:

On the other end of the apartments a tired Air wolf slept out the night. Unbeknownst to him two shady figures picked the lock to his apartment, and creeped inside.

They surrounded his bed, one producing two fake tiki torches that emuted a bright red light. The other produced a rope. Once the torches were placed on both feet of the bed the figure with the rope jumped on the sleeping Air wolf.

Air wolf yelped and fought off his attacker. Unfortently though he was in a bad postion becase once he started getting out of the hands of the first figure the second one put all their wight on Air wolf to pin his arms down. After a minute or two more Air wolf was successfully hog tied.

The second figure flicked the torches’ switch and the whole room lit up in a bright red light. The light revealed two figures with grotesque masks over their face. Made all the more frightening by the red highlights of the lamp. Air wolf attempted to cry out in fear, but was hushed by a towel that one of the figures crammed into his mouth.

The figure on the left, the one that had a rope, leaned over and hissed into Air wolfs ear, “We’re the…” there was an awkward pause, “We’re the CULT OF THE EVENING PALM TREE”. They forced a really raspy laugh. Then continued, “In the name of the CULT OF THE EVENING PLAM TREE we here by curse you!!!”

The one standing next to the torches whispered incantations that sounded strikingly similar to pig latin.

“If you do not leave this place tomorrow then you shall die!!!”

Air wolf made muffled noises of dismay.

The first figure stepped back as the second one began chanting, “Sacrifice, Sacrifice”. After the a momens hesitation the first joined in. They got progressively louder. Until they were practically shouting at Air wolf while standing over him.

Air wolf passed out from terror.

The figures chuckled as they took their gear and left the room. The first one said, “I think you could of thought of a better name, naming it after the hotel was kinda stupid” The other laughed, “Yeah, but Air totally fell for it!”

In the morning Air wolf packed up his things and left without speaking to anyone. He was a:

Haha, Tsae, that just means our tactic worked perfectly.  B)
Rocco and I played very differently and kept ourselves distant and somewhat on negative grounds to deflect any suspicions of our working together. I rode it out very low-key in hopes to ride under everyone's radar... which, judging by the votes and Tsae's comment, seems it worked!
Honestly I wanted to use Kyle's "The first to accuse is the guilty party" defense against him a lot earlier, but not in the way we ended up doing it. Sorry, bud!

Were the write ups okay?

Writing flavor isn't my strong suit, so I felt very out of my element.

Hopefully it didn't detract from anything.

The write-ups were fine to me! I think the more playful aspect of it aside from serious deaths as is the norm fit the mood perfectly.

*grins real big and wave* Hi everyone :D

To all the defeated players. Did I ever mention I'm mildly nefarious and scheme well? Was too easy to play you all. Now, onto world domination!
John, I don't remember XD

Write ups were good Mage, but might I suggest 1 You let the last days play out. I really wanted to pester Air and Michen and 2 Ask the Mafia for suggestions on how to get rid of furs. I had a couple pawsome ideas.

Simple- you were "targeted." You voted first, and Kyle jumped on you. We thought it would help to add some suspicion to Kyle. Part of the plan to use his own theory against him.

Thank you for the kind words and advice!

RE: Night one

I was really sad that John was the first to die b/c I wanted to see his role, Telepath, in action. It was a weaker power, but still seemed like it could be fun. Secretly coordinating with another player and all.

Also, Fable, you were really popular night one! *All* three town power roles were going to visit you. Unfortunately John died before that happened. But both Max, and kyle's actions went through!

If I remember right, -we- almost visited Fable on night 1, too, as a "neutral party" kill to cause confusion.  XD You really were popular!
Tsae just happened to be the choice we made.

Well, that sure was an interesting idea for a game. I looked back on the previous pages multiple times throughout the game to look at if I could find anything that could lead me to one of the maffia. I have to admit, it's a lot harder than it looks.

I was suspicious of Rocco's aggressiveness all day 2 and both made mention of it and even voted for him, and I was suspicious of Air because he was so close to Rocco. I can't remember why I suspected you though, and I'm honestly to lazy today to go back and read through everything to figure it out again. >~>

At the last day when Rocco and Pyraff voted for Kyle. Then Rocco called out to me, and I wasn't sure what to do with that move. Then Air voted for Kyle as well, ending the game before I sorted out what to do. When I saw that I immediately thought "No, wait!", thinking something was wrong. Of course nothing could be changed anymore at that point.
Besides that, at day 2 Max brought up the police badge. I quickly unvoted him to see where this conversation with Rocco would lead to, but by then the damage had already been done. It makes me think next time I shouldn't be so quick with judging others and instead just watch how things go for a while.

Fable
Ventus Fall
Magic Moka

I have enough to start. If there are any stragglers that wanna jump in last second I'm cool with that. It'll be a few days of planning, then I'll send out roles! :)

I might actually use Rocco's suggestion. Mainly because I can think of some interesting candy themed roles. Maybe I'll do a role madness game! (Special roles for everybody)

Cupcake mafia

In the small world of the local confectionary café where sweets were sold, there was a display case of cup cakes. These cup cakes were enjoying the first hours of their existence. Being freshly baked, the short plane with a dome of glass of the display case appeared large and warm. The cup cakes made small talk, and over all were in a good mood. Their little, rather shallow, lifes were a bubble with fascination for each other and the world around them.

Meanwhile the cashier taking over the cash register came in for her shift. She found a note on the counter that read, "Please dispose of the day old cup cakes in the case". Sounds like these old cupcakes simply had to go. They did not meet the cafe's standards, and had to be scrapped. Unfortunately, the girl working behind the counter was new to the job (first day ftw), and didn't know which cup cakes were old and which were new.

It looks like the duty of rooting out the old cup cakes falls to the group of cup cakes in the display case!

Good luck! :)

That sounds like a threat. Who else would be this certain but a stale cupcake with a partner in expiration! Just throwing it out there, I'm not sure if this one is to be trusted.

Shortly after the demise of Magic moka the novelty photogenic potato cupcake, the Cashier decided to move the cupcakes out of their dome, and move them down to a counter stand. The end of the counter was a good four or five strides away. So while the Cashier was careless swinging the serving dish the stale cupcakes saw a prime opportunity. The cupcakes giggle, and teetered about the dish as they were moved. Then in the midst of the fun a shadowy stale cupcake roughly bumped one of the fresh cup cakes off the side of the serving dish.

A little cry was heard as the cupcake hit the ground. The other cupcakes had their respective little gasps once they realized what happened. The Serving dish was put on the end of the counter. The cashier groaned when she turned around to see the splattered mess that was a cup cake on the ground. "Ohhh, I'm so clumsy", the Cashier says as she frowns in disappointment.

The fallen cup cake was Rocco Rex, he was a:

If a lynch is not met then the day ends without a lynch. This is generally a bad thing to do with and odd number of players as it sacrifices one of town's lynches, and leads to mylo (mislynch or lose), rather then lylo (lynch or lose).

The discussion came slowly. The cupcakes all had their underlying thoughts and feelings that they felt ready to make move on them. Except everybody was politely waiting for their neighbor to make the first move. There was some coughing, and the shuffling of wrappers before somebody said, "So how about Kyle?".

There was a pause, then most the cupcakes shrugged their non-existent shoulders and said, "sure, he looks pretty suspicious". All the eyes shifted towards Kyle.

Kyle said nervously, "But I'm always suspicious!"

Nobody bought his defense, Kyle was shoved into the trash. He was:

Quote
Hello, Kyle, you are a vanilla cupcake, (Vanilla townie).

Abilities:
-During the day phase, you may use your vote and voice to lead town to victory.

Win Condition:

Night Two officially starts now, the night phase will end on the 3rd of February

Reminder, please don't forget to turn in your night actions, if you have a role that does something at night but choose not to send in a action you could be hurting your faction's win-con.

^Kyle said from the trashcan.

Anyway, The cashier decided to move the cupcakes around again. This time to small serving dishes that she put on top of the glass display case on the other end of the counter. Yes, the cashier had too much time on her hands.

The first one she moved over was Fable. Fable was moved way to the far side of the display case. So far Fable was completely out of view from the other cupcakes. In a moment the cashier brought over two other cupcakes. She placed them near Fable, and turned to go pick up more.

While the cashier was gone the two cupcakes looked towards Fable, then at each other. Fable wasn't paying too much attention outside of a half hearted "hello". One of the two cupcakes nodded to it's friend. In a spilt second the other cup cake rammed into Fable knocking them off the side of the display case and onto the floor. The two cupcakes chuckled slightly to themselves as the cashier moved the rest of the cup cakes over.

It wasn't until everybody was moved over that somebody noticed Fable's absence. Fable was found, completely unusable in their condition, the cashier had to regretfully throw them away. Fable was:

Quote
Hello, Fable, you are a Sprinkle Covered Cupcake, (Town Jail keeper).

Abilities:
-During the day phase, you may use your vote and voice to lead town to victory.
-At night you may visit another player and shower them with Sprinkles. This protects the cupcake from dying at night, BUT the sprinkles have the side effect of role blocking their target. A role blocked player is unable to perform any night actions.

Win Condition:
You win when all threats have been eliminated and there is at least one town-aligned player alive.

Just to clarify. I didn't skip out on a final write b/c the game dried up. I had a lot of irl deadlines I had hanging over my head.

The general apathy at the end certainly didn't help me though.

The unflipped power roles this game were Ginger, and Michen for town. Red bread was the mafia's power role.

Ginger was a fruit vender, Michen was a flavor cop, and Red bread was a tracker.
