Title: Family Matters {RP for teaching some of the less-good how to.}
Post by: Dr. Strange on December 26, 2007, 01:41:29 PM
Ok, this is here specifically for the more educated Furs out there to bring in some newer ones and teach them to RP. The settings are as follows: a forest outside the town of Ancyra, Ancyra, the middle of The Sea of Swords, the island Barbeara, and The Great Ganali's Temple-Palace. The profile you need to keep clean. You may use 1st or third person. 2nd is too difficult with multi person RPing.
Rules:
1. No God moding
2. Don't tick anybody off, really.
3. Have fun!
4. Don't go overboard. Keep it simple.
5. Multi characters are allowed but please send me your profiles first. I wish to keep this organized as possible and cleaned up. Thank you.
I will discuss with several expirienced members of this RP later who will joint-control it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name:
Age:
Species:
Fur Coloring & Any Special Markings:
Clothing [if any]:
Eye Coloring:
Weapons:
Setting:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
For example;
Name: Eli
Age: 16
Species: a very old tiger
Fur Coloring & Any Special Markings: small stripes across an almost white nose, fur turned white with age. Grey stripes.
Clothing [if any]: a pair of jeans tied to back right leg, tee tied to left, and a cloak.
Eye Coloring: Dark red near bottom, red, dark orange near top, then orange on very top part.
Weapons: a dagger
Setting: the forest behind Ancyra
Other: [this would be stuff that's optional. Like your gender, your full name if you wish, your other stuff.] Eli White, 2nd child to Grean and 3rd child to Cyrsa.
------------------------------------------
Eli paced along the edge of the forest, far from Ancyra. the apprentice hadn't come yet and they were going to be late.

1. When you use *OOC, use (( )) OR { } OR some other type of thing to set it off so it doesn't affect the actual RP, please and thank you.
2. Don't godmode or powerplay. This basically means don't go over the top with magic and abilities; for example, you can't transform into a huge dragon and automatically kill someone.
3. Be original; don't be that same old teenager who ran away from home / killed their parents / parents were killed, and carries a katana and is a fluent master at it. Be creative, and get a character that you can be proud of and use again and again.

**MODS: If you can think of any other good points, please post them.

Much thanks,
Broken~Hearted

*OOC: Out Of Character, meaning you are speacking to the person or persons directly, not within the RP.

((I'm going to join with 2 characters; ol' Fyroh, and a new one.))

Name: Fyroh Ilqe Gahn (a.k.a. Fyroh)
Age: 19
Species: Wolf
Fur Coloring & Any Special Markings: Greyish, with dark patches; a swirl emblem on his left upper arm.
Clothing [if any]: Although he usually wears chainmail, today he opted out, in favour of a white tunic, with grey bottoms; a black leather combat vest over it. He also wears thick leather boots, and large, padded leather gloves.
Eye Coloring: Greyish
Weapons: A bastard sword at his side (that's a real name of a sword, don't kill me, mods), a broadsword on his back, and a variety of daggers at his belt for different situations; along with a small, but strong mallet, used to break nuts and as a last resort weapon.
Setting: The forest behind Ancyra, near Eli.
Other: His real name is Fyroh Ilqe Rayviel; however, for personal reasons, he prefers to refer to himself as Gahn. Around 6ft4. Quite rash, and holds little trust in others, even those whom he knows; however, his sense of chivalry amongst other things makes him desperate to help others in need, and feels depressed if he is unable to. He has also been known to jump to conclusions, and make horrible mistakes.
___________________________

Name: Kapei Parre {pronounced kah - pay parrh}
Age: 14
Species: Tortoise-like scalie, some differences such as more humanoid yet still has a shell that covers the whole body
Fur Coloring & Any Special Markings: Has a green shell, and a musty brown-yellow scale colour.
Clothing [if any]: His shell serves as clothes enough for him; however, he wears a helmet that also resembles a shell, with a spike on top. He also wears steel toed leather shoes, and fingerless leather gloves with a spike on the middle fingers knuckle.
Eye Coloring: Completely black
Weapons: A gladius (to him; more of a long dagger to most ordinary folk) and a boomerang.
Setting: Ancyra
Other: Only 4ft6 tall; so shorter than most; he's just a little below average than most of his species his age. Loves adventures and excitement, but breaks up in battle due to nerves. Aspires to be a great warrior, yet knows its nothing more than a distant dream. His father constantly sends him around the world to be trained by warriors of different places, so he can get the most experience possible; however, this method seems to confuse Kapei more than help him, as he constantly changes methods and mixes them up, failing miserably mostly. His friends are normally there to help him, but for this time, he's on his own. He came to be trained by his fathers friends friend, Fyroh.
___________________________

Fyroh sighed. He was dreading sundown; that was when he had promised to meet his friends friends son in the inn. Last time he had agreed to train someone, they were stubborn brats and wouldn't accept the advice being given; and the time before that, he was beaten by the one he was supposed to be training, which was very embarrassing. From what he had heard, this boy was called "Cappy or something", as his friend had put it, and was a nice lad but needed more experience with a blade. And Fyroh was supposed to be the giver... He stomped the ground angrily, and then drove his blade into it. Stupid, stupid Fyroh!! he thought. Why did I ever accept? He looked around, and seeing he was alone, let out a short roar to express himself.

Kapei had already managed to get lost. He'd lost his map to the wind, and having looked at many other peoples maps and all sorts, he just couldn't find the tavern he was supposed to go to at sundown. He was a little too shy to ask someone to direct him there; besides, they might ask questions as of why he'd want to primarily go there when he was clearly not old enough to drink. He only managed to get away with the sword and helmet because he was a traveller, and carried a note from his father about his training. He saw two people look at a map, then walk off in one direction; he didn't have the heart to ask if he could borrow it, not all over again. With a sigh, he slumped onto the bench behind him.

((Anubis, power beyond a god is far too much; I'm glad you recognise you can't use it, but don't go too far with your martial arts either, you can't be the strongest of everyone.))

Other: Ayame is an experimental animal. Her story will eventually unravel.

Ayame was quietly walking in the forest aimlessly. She stared up at the sky curiously watching the whispy clouds as they seemed to dance on an endless blue stage. She sighed to herself, feeling somewhat at ease after being on the run for about three days now. Her thoughts were broken as she heard an exasperated growl arise not too far from her. She peeked around the brush to see a gray wolf. And from what she could tell, he seemed annoyed.

Fyroh sighed. He felt a little better now, but finished by kicking the nearest tree; shaking a few branches, but at the cost of hurting that foot. He shook it slightly with a wince, then turned to reclaim his sword, and caught eye of Ayame. "**** it..." he muttered to himself. He cleared his throat, then pulled his sword out of the ground, and sheathed it. "Uh, hey." he called over to the other wolf.

Kapei sighed. It was hopeless to find that inn at this rate... and he was getting hungry, too. He decided to drop into the nearest place for food; then saw a sign, and slapped his own forehead. He'd been right next to this inn the whole time!! With a sigh, he walked in, and slumped into a chair on an unoccupied table.

Name: Priestess Ishe Bania
Age: 18
Species: red fox(vulpes vulpes)
Fur Coloring & Any Special Markings: standard fox coloration: red-orange fur with black fur covering forearms, hands, calves, feet. and tips of the ears. tip of the tail, inside of the ears, and chest/belly area has white fur.
Clothing [if any]: Loose fitting white robes with red and yellow trim, denoting her as a traveling priestess
Eye Coloring: royal purple
Weapons: N/A. Carries a Priestess Staff, but will not use it as a weapon.
(staff is a metal staff topped by a ornate seraphic winged design. from the four flared wings eight rings dangle and chime every time the staff hits the ground. Similar in nature and purpose to the Buddhist Shakujo in that it is used to warn small creatures like insects so they are not walked on, and to alert others that a priest or priestess is in the area and approaching.)
Setting: Ancyra
Other: She was raised into the religion from a kit, and as such is quite devout. She has started a pilgrimage to find herself. She is a kind hearted soul, and seems naturally attuned to children. She has taken several oaths, to which she will keep to her death, if necessary, including vows of nonviolence and silence. This makes her effectively defenseless and mute.

----------------------------------------------------

Ishe had recently left the conclave on a mission both personal and spiritual: to find herself. She was one of the youngest Priestesses in the conclave because she was enrolled when she was a small child. Once she completed her mission, if she completed it, she would return a high priestess. She tried not to let those thoughts cloud her judgment and she walked through the streets wondering how she would accomplish this task before her.

It wasn't long before she realized she had been walking for the better part of the day. Ishe walked into the Inn, her ringed staff producing their distinctive jangle. She paused in the doorway as a fair number of eyes turned to the sound. She smiled, and most went back to their business of eating or drinking. Ishe looked for a place to rest for a moment, seeing that all the tables had occupants.

Ayame's eyes widened as she was caught off guard by being recognized. This was one of her first encounters with another of her kind. She tilted her head to the side curiously, then tried to react to the words that had been strung out between the two in the silence. "Uh.. Hi." She said quietly, eyeing the male. "I'm 113."

Fyroh raised an eyebrow. "113?... Never heard of someone being called numbers for names... eh, except one of my friends prefers to be referred to in public as 403, but it's not his real name." He paused for a second. "Th' name's Fyroh. I'm just a travelling warrior." He motioned to his sword, then paused. He couldn't think of what else to say; it was awkward enough as it was, what with him screaming and all sorts, without having to build a conversation right afterwards.

Kapei noticed the newcomer, but quickly attempted to avert his gaze. Realising there were no seats for her, he quickly got up and sidled away from his table, hoping to go unnoticed. She probably needed the seat more than him; so he decided to just go to the bar to buy himself something or other, but instead just ended up standing aimlessly, staring at what they had to offer.

She stopped and thought about his words. "Well, my real name's 113, but I prefer to be called Ayame." She looked to his sword, then back to Fyroh. "Nice to meet you." She stepped out of the brush she had been peeking from and inspected his sword, "Traveling Warrior, eh? I'm a... Traveling nothing."

Name: Scheer
Age: 19

Fur Coloring & Any Special Markings: Tan fur with a few black stripes over lower back, tail and legs.
Clothing [if any]: A Burgonet helm, with visor. Landsknecht 'Munition armor' consisting of a breastplate pauldrons and a fauld. He wears a bright red shirt, and yellow and black checkered pants, with knee high brown leather boots. The classic gear of a Doppelsöldner Shock trooper.
Eye Coloring: Blue
Weapons: Zweihänder sword, and Katzbalger short sword (if you dont know what they are, google search them.)
Setting: Main road leading to Ancyra
Other: Scheer is a Ex Doppelsöldner, the band of Landsknecht mercenaries he was a part of have recently disbanded.

A few months ago, Scheer was a front line solider in a group of roudy Landsknecht mercenaries, but because of political reasons Scheer and many other  Doppelsöldners and Landsknechts left the group. A new leader of the group had been elected, and he wanted to wage war on innocents, he wanted to raid and attach the local villages. So Scheer and many others  left, and never looked back, now hundreds of miles away, he is looking for a new place to work, and live.

He yawns, Scheer is alittle tired he has been walking most of the day. He stops infront of a sign post it reads 'Ancyra' and an arrow points down the road. Scheer holds his blunt ended Zweihänder like a cane, its tip in the dust, his paw on the pommel. He pauses for a second, befor adjusting his helm.

"Ancyra.. Never heard of it"

Scheer shrugs, and putting his Zweihänder over his shoulder starts to walk towards Ancyra, Hopeing he can find work there. He kicks at the dust, and curses the road, muttering on how bad his feetpaws hurt, and how dry his throat was.

((Anubis, try typing like the rest of us. You know, typing out in proper sentences our actions, and putting speech in speech marks (" "). Try to avoid using stars to describe your actions.))

Fyroh smirked. "Well, Ayame is what I'll know you as, then." he replied. "A travelling nothing... otherwise known as a traveller, in my vocab. Any reason you're travelling? Seeing the world? Finding a place to settle? On the run? I've done all three of them." He began looking at the scenery absent mindedly, half looking for something edible.

"Eh, I shouldn't be here if that's what you mean. I suppose you could say I'm on the run. But that stays between us." Ayame answered, tapping her claw against the battered metal collar around her neck. "I've just been trying to put distance between myself and somewhere else. I don't have a clue as to where I am. Do you?" she smirked, hoping he would no since he was in the same area.

Fyroh turned back, and faced her. "Oh, right." he replied, not being able to think of a more suitable reply. "Don't worry, you can trust me with that. I haven't given someone away yet, and I don't plan to. Oh, and this is, err, I dunno the country and all that very well, but we're near a town called Ancyra. I have to be there by sunset, so I have plenty of time... gotta help this kid figure out how to use a sword. That's why I was so annoyed earlier, cus last time I attempted to train people, it didn't go well..." He broke eye contact at this point, somewhat embarrassed.

Scheer stopped, he took off his helm, and with the back of his paw, wiped his forehead. He returned the helm to his head, visor up, with that he put the Zweihänder down like a cane. Scheer rests on it and removes a bottle from his belt, with a pop, he pulls a cork from its neck, swishing the fluids inside it. He takes a deep gulp, spilling some of the ale on his breastplate. He chuckles, and wipes it off with the back of his sleeve, before returning the cork to bottle, and bottle to belt. With a heave, he picks up the Zweihänder, and continues his walking, hopeing to find an inn or a lodge or some place where he can get a bite to eat, and some rest.

"What's an Inn?" interrogated Ayame as she totally disregarded the last part of Fyroh's sentence. She could literally feel his uneasiness about it. She hadn't been out long, and the whole trek she had taken was nothing but woods. She wondered what it could possibly be as she reviewed the definition of "In" mentally. "You'll have to excuse me if I tend to seem stupid. But being isolated like I was, I hardly know anything of the outside."

((No, Anubis, this is a roleplay for public use, not just your family, despite the name. And please use brackets when using OOC. Scheer and Night, I believe this RP is for public use; it's for experienced furres to help inexperienced ones, generally to improve the quality of RP on the Serious RP thread, I think. Broken~Hearted never told me it was private, but she did specifically invite me; the way she talked about it, I think it is public, despite the name. I think the name sort of symbolises us teaching and helping each other; like a family, if you get me... just my two pence.))

Fyroh blinked. "Oh, you were isolated? You have a lot to learn, then. An inn... well, it's a place where you can buy food and drink and eat it while you're there, and sleep the night, too. You have to pay money if you want to stay at an inn, or eat... Oh, do you know about money?" He realised that he needed to find out just how much she knew if he was going to be any help; but he guessed she didn't know about anything.

"Money?" she asked, her eyes bright with the thirst for knowledge. "I was isolated and I know a few things, but it's mostly about how things work. Like why the leaves fall off trees in winter, or what's happening to you when you get sick. I know not that much of social interaction. I ran away before I was taught that, providing if they were going to teach me."

Ishe held a hand out to the scale that left his table for her sake. She smiled and motioned to the two chairs at the table, as if saying there was no need for him to have left it for her sake. Ishe held a hand out to the scale that left his table for her sake. She smiled and motioned to the two chairs at the table, as if saying there was no need for him to have left it for her sake. She moved to the table slowly and sat down, resting her staff on her shoulder as she watched him. She brushed a speck of dust from her robe's shoulder languidly.

((I agree. You gotta have the details in there; just saying, 'Fyroh said "Hi. How are you?"' isn't good, this is more like it; 'Fyroh turned, and saw the stranger. He raised a hand in greeting, giving a short smile as he quickly said, "Hey! How've you been?"' That might not be the best example ever, but it gives my point. And Anubis, don't put your normal actions in speech marks.))

Fyroh couldn't help but smirk. "Right, well, money is like... uhh, it gives a value to things. Like, I could go and buy something off someone with money; lets say they had an apple, I could give them some money for it, lets say a few coins- that's what money is, these little coins." He pulled a few coins from his pocket, and held them out in his outstreched hand. "You can use money to get almost anything you want; but to get money, you have to work; that's doing things for someone, like helping to grow food. Or, you can sell things for money, like for example, I could sell my sword to some one, for some money, which I could then use to buy food... you following me?" He realised that he was probably overloading her with information, and quickly slipped the coins back in his pocket.

Kapei felt a little embarrassed, and shuffled back over. After a moment of silence, he finally spoke, "Uh, what's your name?.." He knew he was bad at starting conversations, and cursed himself for it. He constantly broke eye contact to look at the bar, for no particular reason other than avoid staring at the stranger.

"I think I am. Money... puts value on things. You have to work for money to buy what you want." She arched a brow, then looked back to him. "That's a silly concept." She looked over to the horizon, where the sun slowly sunk into the ground. Night was trying to take over; sending its cool purples and blues to clash with the sun's contrasting orange and reds. "Didn't you say you had to be somewhere by dark?" Ayame wondered aloud.

Scheer yawns stretching, hes pauldrons joints pinch his arms alittle. He sees an Inn, in the distance, A haggered building, weathered and dirty, with vines climbing the walls. But it is an inn none the less, which pleases him, with a smile, hes picks up his pace, some what revitalized upon seeing his goal. He now adjusts his grip on his Zweihänder, bracing it against his shoulder, holding it by one of its quillons. He armor clanks as he walks, his Katzbalger, bottle, and coinbag banging against the Fauld. Scheer smiles, thinking of food, ale, and rest.

Fyroh blinked. "Sunset already?! Time flies. Alright, let's get a move on. You can come if you want. I'll pay for you at the inn." He motioned for her to follow. "Yeah, it IS a silly concept, but it's the most practical one. It's more efficient than carrying around things you might want to swap with people." he added to her, as he began walking through the forest, heading for Ancyra.

Kapei was beginning to worry. The sun was beginning to set, and his trainer hadn't showed up yet... and he was with a strange woman that he didn't know, and even worse, a few tables away, some grown furres kept laughing to each other and motioning to their table. He pretended not to notice anything.

Ayame tagged along, not wanting Fyroh to pay for her without working. Though for the most part her logic was way out of tact, she didn't want to take charity. If she was going out on her own she'd have to adapt. "You have to work for money. Is there something I can help you with?"

Scheer arrives at the inn, He stops for a second out side, and quickly examines the structure. It clearly is an old building built of old heavy stones and weathered lumber. Scheer notices old burn marks scaring parts of the building behind the vines, he wonders for a second the history of the building. It isn't uncommon for burned buildings to be repaired or new buildings being built with the recycled lumber of buildings that have burned down, Scheer wonders which is true in this case, but shrugs it off as something unimportant.

With a heave, he pushes open the door the inn, holding the Zweihänder out behind him to fit it through the door. Its a big sword, just under 6 feet in length, not uncommon for a sword if this type. Upon entering, he looks around the room, it is rather full, but there still are some empty tables, one of which he selects. He places the Zweihänder on the table, and sits, with a thump, his armor clanking. With a smile he wipes his face, and removes his helm, setting it next to the sword.

Fyroh laughed. "Hah, it's true that you work for money, but you don't need to work for me to pay this off; it's my way of being nice. Besides, I haven't got any jobs for you to do... Seeing as you've been isolated from society, I doubt you'll know how to train people with a sword, which is what I'm about to do."

Kapei noticed the newcomer, and the sight of the giant sword suddenly reminded him of how weak he really was. He'd come to a foreign, unknown country to train, and everyone around him was so much bigger... The newcomers sword seemed larger than he was, which was a frightening prospect. He tried to ignore it; he was hopefully getting trained later on, which should help him become stronger... Kapei kept that thought in his mind as he tried to push out the other thoughts.

With a smile Scheer looked around the room, and spotted what he was hopeing to see, the bar keep. He gestured for him, and with in a few minutes had a tankard of ale. Scheer griped the pewter tankard, and sipped at its contents, the froth covering part of his nose. chuckling to him self he wiped his nose, and set the tankard down, He yawned and relaxed in his chair, slumping as much as his armor would let him. "This place reminds me of the old country" He said to him self, as he watched the patrons of the inn drink and eat, listening at the conversations, picking up bits and pieces of all of them, but under standing none of them. He would spend the night here, he concluded, and look for work in the morning.

Kapei sighed. This day appeared to be getting worse; stranger types were coming in, including someone who seemed particularly strange, yelling his head off about wanting a bed. He still tried to ignore it.

Scheer heard the yelling of an impatient patron and turned around to look, where he saw, standing in the doorway a rather annoyed being, demanding a bed. With a mutter Scheer turned back around, and continued to drink his ale slowly.  It wasn't very good ale in flavor or in temperature, but it was something to drink. He looked around the room, the Guests of the inn going about there way, some were drinking, so were laughing, one he spotted looked forlorn. Scheer shrugged, none of my business he thought.

Ishe had not spoken, only touching her lips with the tips of her fingers, signaling she would not, or could not, speak. She had remained silent thought the ruckus, but looked questioningly to the laughing group. When the Germanic knight came in, her smile faded somewhat when she saw his weapon, cleared as it was. She breathed a heavy sigh, obviously uncertain of these newcomers and their intentions, her brows scrunched into a worried fashion.

Kapei tilted his head at her. "Is it too loud?" he asked, not quite understanding the signal being made. The screaming one had now fainted, or so it seemed. Must have wasted too much energy in his desperate, impractical demands for a bed, Kapei thought.

Fyroh smiled. "Ah, here we are at last; the inn." He motioned a hand to the door. "Ladies first, of course." he added, waiting for her.

She frowned, shaking her head slightly. She touched her lips again, then grabbed her throat, then making a key turning motion at her lips again. She rested her hands in her lap and smiled a small smile, hoping he understood she could no longer speak. She was worried about the one that feinted, but thought he must be one of the cities Invalids given the ruckus he had caused. In which case, his caretaker or guards should arrive within the next few moments to cart him off back to the bedlam. She's already learned once not to meddle in their affairs. She Looked back to Kapei and shook her head sadly with a sigh.

Fyroh paused, and simply stared at Anubis. "Am I in your way, sir?" he asked, noting the look, and returning it.

Kapei sighed; why did he have to meet anybody here? The place was full of madmen, and he was sitting next to a strange lady who didn't appear to be able to tell him her name. He'd gotten the idea that she couldn't talk by now, though. He wriggled uncomfortably in his seat, unable to think of anything that he could say, which she could actually answer.

The activity at the Inn was picking up, alot more folks were coming in, every time the door opened Scheer and a good bunch of the Inns patrons would turn and look to see who was at the door. Quite an interesting crowd, Scheer thought, a mix of what looked like profits, crazys, warriors and folks he just didn't understand. He shrugged to him self and gestured to the barkeep for another ale. He thought to him self that he would have to get a room soon, before the Inn filled up. Eli shook her head and walked off, in the direction on Ancyra. She looked around with hooded, red-ringed purple eyes and tapped her dagger patiently above her belt. She had taken a lengthy bandage and wrapped her chest so it didn't stick out under her cloak as much. "I believe I am in need of supplies and such." She mumbled, strolling into the first shop she ran into.

She looked around for a while. There were bottles of every size, shape, color and texture lined up on shelves that stacked from floor to a few feet from the ceiling. A pile of square boxes sat at the end of the aisle. She gently prodded them open and rooted around in them for a few minutes, shocked at what was contained in them. Blood samples of every creature alive and some that were extinct now. Papers headed for reasearch with records of twisted expiraments done to the poor animals caught. She sighed heavily and turned, growling slightly at the young jaguar that stood inches from her.

"May I help you, sir?" The jaguar had hard, dark blue eyes swimming with pale red.

"Yes. I need a blood sample.." Eli disguised her voice well, it sounded rough enough to pass as an older man.

"Well, sir, let me show you all the ones we have in stock and I will help you find whatever you need."

"Thank you, Young One. You are very respectful and wise. Pray tell how many turns you are. I am looking for a bird of sorts. Black in color with horribly dark red eyes, pale blue  rings on its' wings."

She picked up on this and stalled, picking up a bottle and politely asking questions about it. "What's inside of this and have you made sure no one has been hurt by your products?"

"Yes, we test them and we're always looking for volunteers. In the back, we have severa newer breeds that haven't made it to the shelves yet."

She looked to the back and turned purposefully away from it. "I think I'm fine for now. I will return when I am in dire need of newer blood, thank you." She replied, walking briskly toward the door. She made it there and went out into the waning sunlight. The back room inside the shop held numerous heads of unnamed fursons on silver platters stained bright pink with blood. She almost retched but she held it. Keeping her head high, she walked into the Inn and ordered a drink from the bar.

"I'm taken, love. When I'm free again, I'll come talk to you." She purred back, smiling charmingly. And why do I get the woman but not the men? Oh wait..Could it be that I'm covered? Stupid! ((Anubis777, if you're using google translator, it can translate whole sentences, it does make an attempt at translating them properly...Though it is not always successful. Generally the more shortcuts or shorthand you use the less likely the software will correctly translate. Same with the complexity of the sentences. Offhand I can't suggest a better translator, but I'll take a look around.

And yes, Dutch and German languages have the same roots. If your studied the languages looking for similarities, you would find that they have many commonalities and similar words. English isn't all too far from German either, about half of English is a heavily modified Germanic language. This is due to the ancient roots they all share. The early Germanic people were very prolific. German, Yiddish, English and the Frisian languages, as well as Dutch and Afrikaans all class into what is called West Germanic languages. Sorry for the history lesson here, but I had to argue my point.

By the way, don't argue with a linguist on languages... You'll lose. :p ))

A somewhat scrawny man with a broken nose came over to the table Ishe was sitting at and called out, "Hey, babe. Ditch the kid and come with me, eh?" Ishe frowned at the man, and he said snidely, "What, you too good for a guy like me?" About the time he finished his sentence a elephant man with massive hands growled out, "Matter of fact she is. Now apologize to the priestess there, or I'll turn you into paste, Varley." The thin man, Varley, paled when he heard the voice. He stuttered out, "B-b-boss?" He bowed a few times and stuttered out what had seemed like an apology. The Giant of a man growled, "Now get out of my sight." As Varley quickly left the Inn, his boss looked over to the priestess and said in a somewhat friendlier tone, "Sorry about Varley. He's new to the area. Don't worry about him, he won't bother you again. I can't help but wonder what a priestess of Delidyndr is doing this far out, and so young at that. ...but you can't answer that, can you." Ishe shook her head slightly, then she bowed her head momentarily to show him she was thankful. The giant guffawed, "No need, he was in need of straitening out anyway."

Kapei blinked. "Oh, she's a priestess?..." He had began to wonder about the staff, and luckily it had been answered now. "I... I didn't realise. I'm sorry." Due to his nerves, he never liked being near someone with higher status than his own; which is why he didn't like public in general.

When Kapei apologized, she shook her head ad smiled, she didn't mind at all. The elephant man laughed heartily at the young man, "What did you think she was? An entertainer? Delidyndr's all about humble attitudes and respect for life, so I wouldn't worry much on it. though if you haven't figured it out, she's taken a vow of silence." She nodded, extending three fingers, tapping the third finger. The elephant man arched a brow, "She says her vow of silence is almost over. She's on her third year already." She nodded, smiling again.

Ayame sat down with Fyroh and watched as he initiated conversation with the mercenary. She focused on every word woven into the talk and tried to make sense of what they were saying, but miserably failed. After a few sentences passed, her attention wandered, the speech of the two furs becoming a monotonous droning sound. She imagined them as two crows gibbering back and fourth as if they were old time pals. The thought of two black feathered and armored crows handling a sword made her giggle for a moment, but she stopped, blushed, then apologized best she could when she realized that her harmless giggles had evolved into laughter; laughter so loud it had grabbed almost everyone in the Inn's attention. "People are gonna think you're a loon." she whispered to herself,  half-trying to be serious. Her half try was failed as she began to laugh harder; a mental image of herself as an actual loon coming into her thoughts.

"A beauty." Fyroh remarked. "I mean, far too big for me, but someone built like you, wow, with this beast... I can tell you, I'm not gonna get in any trouble with you, with that sword on your side." He handed it back slowly; still half admiring it. "I've used big swords before, but nothing of that scale. I-" Fyroh paused, and turned to Ayame, who was laughing for no specific reason. "Uhh... are you alright? Do you need some fresh air or something?..." he asked her, slightly worried about her mental condition; perhaps she was crazy, had escaped from the mental home, and therefore had forgotten about the rest of society while she was there, or something... and was crazy so she didn't know about money or anything... and that was why she was referred to as 113; it was her number over there or something. Yeah, that makes sense. he thought to himself.

Kapei drew back in his chair slightly. "I... I didn't know what she was, sir. I'm sorry for disturbing you both." he half whispered. He didn't like this new place. In most cities, at the inn, there's always a strange type or two, but mostly you can just sit in peace; however, this place seemed like it was swimming with weirdos (though he knew that he must seem weird to them, being so small and equipped with weapons). A strange lady with a weird collar laughing like a maniac; a screaming man who faints and then runs, a really weird priestess who can't talk, an elephant man who god-knows-how knows the priestess, or at least her society, a soldier with a giant sword, and another one who looked significantly weaker going crazy over it... He thought that there was nothing better he'd like to do than find his trainer and then retire to a room, or at least be here with one of his friends; he wouldn't feel so isolated then.

Ishe watched Kapei's reactions, and she wondered why he seemed so uncomfortable around her, oblivious of any particular reason. When the laughter broke out across the inn she was beginning to wonder about this town herself. She hesitated for a moment, then reached over. Ishe touched Kapei's shoulder reassuringly, with a worried look upon her face. She knew he was ill at ease, but she was uncertain how to relieve this tension, since she herself was ill at ease at the moment for at least part of the same reasons.

Kapei flinched slightly when Ishe put a hand upon his shoulder; but relaxed shortly afterwards. He was still scared of the rest of the people in the bar, but at least knew that she was alright; at least, he hoped she wasn't an insane psycho acting innocent... but, he didn't know why, but he trusted her. She seemed like a good person, and that was enough for him.

Ayame caught her breath, and looked around noticing that a few people were glancing at her worriedly. "I'm fine." she said wiping a tear from her eye. "If anything, I'm slightly hungry. Scheer said, upon hearing the giggling girls request for food, " Order something, both of you" Scheer gestured to the warrior as well. " I'll take care of the bill, I may be out of work, but I'm not that poor off that I am unable to give random charity" Scheer smiled, as he tool his rough leather coin pouch from his belt, and set it on the table. I may not look it, but I have quite a bit of cash on me, from all sorts; though I'm a warrior and a traveller mainly, I still know how to make money. I'll be fine taking care of the orders." He gave an appreciative smile as he said this. Then, his attention turned back to Ayame. "Oh, for goodness sake, woman, you have to work for money, but it doesn't mean that you can earn it in a flash. After 3 days of starvation, I reckon you need something to fill you up before you even consider work. And if it's really THAT important to you, you can pay me back once you're rich." He laughed. "Just joking. So, what do you want?"

"I dunno," she said scratching her head uneasily, "What do they have?" She looked around the Inn silently surveying the plates on various tables to see if anything looked appetizing. Some of the plates looked questionable, while others had just scr@ps and remnants of food on them... She wondered what the people of the Inn made the food from. Maybe they made it with fresh wolf. The thought of cannibalism made her cringe, and undecidedly she turned to Fyroh, "Better yet, what do you recommend?"

He took a sip from his. "Just having one is safe, so don't worry." He turned back to Scheer. "Ah, no then. Fyroh took another gulp of his ale. "Supposed to be finding a kid who needs training with the blade... I can't see anyone here with a sword, though; not one that needs training, at least." He couldn't see Kapeis sword from his viewpoint; not only that, but he didn't even look properly, just turned his head and glanced around.

The priestess got up, taking her staff with her, and walked to the Keep, staff jingling with each step. She signed something to him for a moment, then gave him some strange coinage for a meal and drink. He studied the coins for a moment then nodded, calling to the back for a plate of food. she walked back and sat back down, resting the staff once again on her shoulder, the tip planted into the floor in front of her. She began waiting for the food to arrive, eyes closed and smiling to herself.

Just ask him for water, I'm going outside a sec." With that, he got up, and left the inn, if only to stand outside, looking around slowly. "Where is that stupid kid..." he muttered to himself.

Kapei sighed. "Uh, excuse me... I gotta ask someone something." Now that the other warrior had moved, he took a look at Scheer. At that point, Fyroh walked back in; people turned away a lot quicker this time, seeing as he'd came in before not too long ago. He went and reclaimed his seat, which only a moment ago had Kapei vacated. "Eh, dunno where the kid is." he muttered.

Kapei caught sight of Fyroh (who was now finishing off his ale). He didn't dare go back; he thought it was safer if he just talked later, when he was alone, or something. He pretended not to notice.

When Kapei came back she sympathized with him. She had seen the one over there, laughing. The food and drink had finally arrived: it looked like a bunch of vegetables, a steak of some form, and two pints of water. She paled when looking at the steak, and gingerly moved it to the side, she couldn't bring herself to eat an animal, as it was against her vows. She moved the plate in between Kapei and herself, and gave him the second pint of water. She motioned from the steak to him with a question upon her face.

Fyroh blinked, and looked over to Kapei. "You mean that runt?" he asked. "Never seen one of his kind before, I don't think... eh, I'll go in a moment." With that, he passed it off, and checked how much money he had. "Hmm.. ah, yeah, I got plenty." With that, he motioned the barkeeper over, who promptly left with his glass.

Kapei looked up at her. He knew exactly what she meant, but... "A- are you sure?" he questioned. The steak looked as though it would have been the most expensive part of the meal, probably... and he didn't feel right ust taking someones food like that.

Eli ripped the bandage off, pulled her hair out and looked around her with an exasperated expression on her normally calm face. "Stupid, idiotic.." She mumbled, sitting on a stump to think about her options and how she was going to fix herself. "Now...If I had've been watching where I was going, I wouldn't have run into anyone or took off like some frightened animal with their tail between their legs.." She growled, "Speacking of..." She flicked her tail and wrapped it around her stomach.

She signed something quickly, then thought better of it since she thought he wouldn't understand it. She nodded, motioning with a choking motion while pointing at the steak. She hoped he would understand, but it was a little ambiguous. She picked up one of the steamed vegetables and started eating daintily.

Kapei didn't quite understand what she meant. He'd understood that she wanted him to have the steak, but didn't quite get what the choking motion was about. Did it mean she couldn't eat it?... He didn't know. Assuming she wanted him to have it, he took the knife and began cutting a small piece off.

She continued to eat the vegetables daintily, motioning for him to eat. After a moment She made a strange face and looked to the ground as a small sound came from below. There was a mouse on her foot, standing on her sandal and looking up at her. She blinked for a moment, then gently reached down and picked up the strangely calm mouse. She brought it up to eye level with an open palm. She smiled at it and it made a squeak, and she gave it one of her vegetables. It took it hungrily and began eating quickly. She continued eating her vegetables with one hand as the mouse continued eating it's free meal.

Kapei paused from eating to watch her with the mouse. He'd heard that some people were good with animals, but to have a probably stray, harmless creature openly trust someone was another matter... Maybe it was her pet? "Uhh... is that yours?... you may not want the barkeep to see that..." He quickly glanced over at the barkeeper; who was busy with orders.

Fur Coloring & Any Special Markings: Fur as black as purest night,

Weapons: One katana, one wakazashi, several bo shuriken, one kasuragama, and several smokebombs
Setting: On the shores of the sea of swords
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dawnstride passed slowly over the sand, his hinds paws touching the cool substance and his body twisting as the waves did only several feet away from him. His eyes where closed for the moment, as he had done so often when he threaded over the shores near his home. At least he called it his home, for in his heart he knew that there was no home for him, not in this lifetime, and not in the million lifetimes. He was merely a tool in his own eyes, and his life was worth less then that of an animal in his own eyes. He knew though that he was stronger then many a person that wandered around, and his might was not shrouded by remorse of compassion, for his destiny had been placed before him so many years ago...

His path would ultimately lead to his own destruction, yet his mission was simple, to challenge those that he met to the field of battle, and make sure that only one of them did thread away once more. His physical fury knew few bounds, even as his magical might had always been somewhat minor.

He smiled slightly as he sniffed the air, his nostrils seeking out the scents of the creature's that threaded near him, his feet feeling the vibrations that passed through the ground with each step that was made, his ears listening to each breath that was taken. He knew that few had hopes of sneaking up on him, for he could even pick up the subtle hum that magic seemed to make, he could feel the very strands of magic as if he touched them, and he could see the trails of where magic had been for more then a day after the spell had been cast...

She quietly turned left, away from the water and circled around it. She had no wishes to fight so early in the morning. Her muscles ached and she was almost out of good arrows. She frowned in concentration, notched an arrow and let fly.

It made a satisfying thump as it embedded itself in the dirt. She smiled breifly then continued at a quicker pace.

The sound of something striking the sand with more force then an animal's threading reached the creature's ears, his ears sharpening and flicking as he tried to pinpoint the exact location of the sound. His eyes where still closed for now, and his stance still seemed less then hostile. He knew that there where people in the surrounding area, yet there was no sense in striking before they showed themselves...

Verra got almost all the way around it before she noticed it meant no harm. She stopped and peered at it curiously. She'd never seen an animal do that. She walked over and placed her bow back on her shoulder holster. She glanced around and squatted just within range.

"Excuse me, sir or madam. I was curious as to what you were doing out here by the Sea when there's warmth in yonder woods?" She retracted her claws and played with the sand, sifting it through her fingers as she drew a pattern that could easily be wiped away.

The creature raised his head and peered up at the skies, even though he still could not see any of it. He knew that the creature near him would suffice for now, and so he spoke, his words calm and distant. "I stand here for the sole reason that I enjoy the cool breeze that sweeps over the ocean, the cold wind that threads over miles and miles of calm ocean. Now you are here though, so I can challenge you..... do you accept, or do you refuse..."
