Title: Hierarchy (Medieval/ some fantasy elements)
Post by: SadDubwool on December 15, 2016, 04:37:25 AM
The lush realm of Ontheria is said to be a beautiful and fair land, filled with wonders that one could merely dream of, truly though to be the bleeding edge for peace and humanity... This outlook had all but vanished in recent time, the lower castes have been grouping up underneath a leader, plans of revolution and maybe even a full scale war have been talked about. The lower castes have been promised a fair kingdom, where everyone was equal and no-one would be held at less value then anybody else, They call themselves the Aberhunds, and are gearing up to start a full scale war against the ruling kingdom of Zartaria, which is deep in preparation itself.

Families have been divided and the line of patience is growing thinner and thinner by the day, you can only chose a side and hope for the best during these truly turbulent times

I'll hopefully remember to make a cs for this when I get home from work, I just have 2 quick questions. 1) are we aloud more than 1 character? 2) is a character aloud to hold any titles like lord?

Healuks was passing by his favorite tree as a child. And noticed a carving of his call sign and then looked back at it as he stopped to think about his current mission. That was to find some place to get fresh corspes. Seeing that this fallen soldier with three arrows sticking out of his chest wasn't going to last long in a battle. And he stopped as the sound of metal... and such he looked in the direction of the noise.

Healuks took a glance back as he quickly pulled out the arrows in his minion and tossed them to the ground while ordering his minion to stay and then slowly turned around and kept the hood covering his beak and face. "Ah.. hello there..I'm just reliving childhood memories..sorry if I'm invading your space." Said a wispy voice from me.

Healuks looks up revealing his tip of his bony beak and then chuckled. "Ahh... you paladin types never learn...worshiping treacherous deities." He said while he jumped back and was preparing a spell. "Attack!" He order his minion as the shambling corspe held up its broad sword to swing at you.

Raz was wandering down the path that everyone was on, but he was out of sight of them and he couldn't see the others either.  Raz looked rabid without the froth falling, as he was staggering whilst he walked; his belly was skeletal looking as he was near starving and he looked very dehydrated. Soon after walking for a little, Raz collapsed to the ground on the side of the path beneath a bush, but his tail was slightly hanging outside of the underside of the bush. As he hit the ground, his broke  chains and shackles chimed slightly as they hit each other from the sudden collapse.

In the direction that the others would head, was where Raz was.

Name: Geoffrey "The Ghost" Noah

Age: 17

Species: Black bear

Side: None

Class:
Poor class, amateur assassin/bounty hunter

Armament: Black leather armor and robes (Think something like a mix of shrouded armor/robes in Skyrim), a couple daggers

Height: 5'7

Weight: kinda thin for a bear

Personality: head-in-the-clouds with an aggressive side.

Geoff came from a middle class family gradually pushed down the ladder and eventually wiped out by a rival family, leaving Geoff to live on the streets. He was "adopted" and taught by a gang of magic-wielding assassins who disappeared without warning (or were captured/killed somewhere), and so he was once again left to survive on his own, making use of the skills he learned to get by and hopefully make a difference in his kingdom while he's at it.
He was taught a sort of force magic which allows him to influence surrounding light (temporary invisibility/translucence, luminescence, and "shadow" appearances) and magnetic fields, and can push/pull objects within a certain distance. However, it takes a lot of energy, concentration, and a reasonable balance of emotion to do properly, and as a young homeless boy not yet trusted in the bounty-hunting business, it's hard to keep his strength up.

(Let me know if that sort of magic doesn't work for the RP, I can change it)

((Okay, just making sure.))

Within the forest laid an old shack filled with alchemical supplies. An elderly crow sat in a stationary rocking chair not moving a single muscle. Not even breathing.

"Sonovah..." a voice growled.
The disguised bear faded into sight, pressing two fingers against her neck. No pulse, waning warmth, lacking apparent wounds. Either someone stole his kill using a funky spell or the lady died naturally not long before he got there. Just his damned luck. However...
He grinned as he unlatched the golden emerald necklace around her neck and plucked twelve feathers from her head. "Heh, thank you, ma'am," he rasped, patting her on the shoulder.
At least he could take credit for half the mission. Then again, he could simply say nothing of the details and imply it all his doing.

Geoff remained within the forest shack, listening to the wind rustling the leaves outside and lightly creaking the humble home.
"I don't know your full story," the bear spoke soft, rubbing the arm of the lifeless crow. "Maybe you were a nice lady... I hope you don't take this personal, wherever you've gone..."

He eyed all the ingredients and equipment, all the bottles of potions and unusual gems and objects. Quite organized in contrast to the shoddy structure of the place.
"I hope you don't mind me taking all this, ma'am. You've no use for them now, and I, uh... kinda need money..."
His pack didn't have the space for everything, but as long as no one came back here, he could return later to grab the rest.

Raz laid motionless beneath the bush; his tail tip was the only thing visible and one of the chains from his shackles from beneath the bush, but his body could be easily missed as his scales were a very dark gray colour.

Raz heard Night approach him and he swiped at him, and immediately after, Raz tried to run, but his run was extremely limped as he ran, and despite his running, he wasn't really fast; his speed in running was a fast walk.

When Raz came into light, his facial and body expression was tired and hurt as that was apparent from his limp and very heavy breathing. On him, he had a set of leather restraints on his snout, paws, and wings, along with cuffs and chains shortly trailing behind his legs.  He had many scars, and some fresh wounds, but they had scabbed over enough that they wouldn't get infected.

Geoff started with small things with the most perceived value, mainly the gems, jewelry, and gold. Seeing all the interesting objects heated his pack rat fever, but he knew to hold off. Even if he had the space to lug it all, it'd only weigh him down.
The light shuffling of drawers and chests was accompanied by the repeating growls of his empty belly. Once again with the growling. One of these days it might blow a stealth mission.

"May I have some food, ma'am?" the bear asked quietly while glancing back at the crow. "Don't worry, I'll find it myself. Thank you."

Of course, he knew the poor crow was dead, but the rare times the location was safe after the kill, he liked to speak to them a little. Despite the morbid oddness, it calmed his nerves somewhat after the deed. Granted, he didn't actually kill the crow, but he was going to otherwise, which was bad enough in his mind. He hated it, but he needed to eat, and clean work was hard to come by for him. If work came at all...

Geoff swore he heard something other than wind shuffling outside. Probably a wild feral, but he didn't want to take the chance of it being a person.
He stared at the expired crow in the rocking chair, in thought. Normally he just fled the scene without doing anything to the body. This time he was in the forest, and he planned to give her a respectful burial. But until he knew the threat was gone, he had to think of something else for now. He may have not killed her, but looting a house while in armored robes and a corpse slumped in a chair wouldn't give a friendly first impression.

He carefully shut the chest he had open then took the blanket off the bed and gently covered the lady with it, making it look like she was simply sleeping.
"Rest well," he whispered.

Raz didn't bother looking back as he ran and he eventually fell again, falling onto his belly and sliding a few feet whilst his chains and shackles chimed as the dragged across the ground.

Raz struggled to get back up, but his legs seemed too weak to support his body anymore in his desperate state.   As he struggled, he made whines in fear, knowing somebody had to be near.

On the restraints that are on his body, there seemed to be a slavery insignia on each piece.

Chains.

The bear's brow furrowed as he peeked an eye through the window, not seeing anything yet. Now he was very curious. He couldn't think of any reason for rattling chains out in the forest. For whatever reason, a staggering zombie dragging heavy shackles against the ground came to mind. Supposedly there was a necromancer around these parts. If he had the bravery -- and perhaps a reward -- he might try to get the guy himself. But he certainly had little reason to bother him now, nor was he prepared for such a feat. But that's if the sound really was the necromancer's minion. He didn't want to find out.

Geoff sat down on the bed and listened carefully.

Raz looked around frantically as he was alone, only hearing silence... that was until he heard growling and he saw a small pack of wolves going towards Raz.

Raz didn't care now if he was caught by his former slavers, he didn't want to die, despite how much pain he is in.

Raz watched as these wolves surrounded him, circling him like vultures, and as they neared, Raz became deftly scared and he let out a whine for help the rung out in the area, and he continued to do so as he tried to get up, but his efforts to stand were met with a charge when one of the wolves rammed the tiny dragling, making him tumble onto his back, revealing his soft underbelly.

Raz was genuinely terrified now; believing that he was going to be dead soon.

The wolves didn't back off, but that one that got hit, did die, but the others diverted their attention to Night and ran at him to attack.

Meanwhile, Raz still laid on the ground; spacing out and staring into the sky with the fear that had paralyzed him

The remaining wolves put their ears down and ran away into the forest, whimpering.

Raz looked back at Night, and his eyes went wide in fear and anticipation on what was going to happen.

As the fear grew, Raz's soulstone seemed to eminate a bright light, casting a red hue around him and a small radius in the area, the soon followed by red bright particles condensing towards Raz's soulstone.

This soulstone held one special property; If it's host is in immediate danger from a 3rd party threat, then it will condense the light around into the stone until ready to unleash a strong, face-melting beam of light in the direction of the threat.  This process takes 3 minutes to charge up and will leave Raz extremely tired and exhausted after it shoots.

Now if he could smile he would be like the joker. Seeing that now all the armor and gear your carrying in yourself is going to ether slow you down dramatically or made you tumble to the ground. But this, lucky for you. Was only temporary lasting about 8 minutes. But it would be more then enough time to do plenty. "Well then, my smash happy friend. If I was truly the evil thing you despise. I would take advantage of this. But, I won't." He said back with his wispy voice and then turned around to walk away with hustle , deep into the forest.

Raz tried to be quiet, and seemed to manage, but he was being strong in the sense that his cries and groans were being held back, but as they reached a pothole that made Raz drop abruptly, and this caused him to hurt immensely and he let out a massive pained roar from beneath the blanket.

Ray, after leaving his homestead, found himself in a forest. Completely out of his element, the dwarf-raccoon had his hammer and shield drawn, the gilded weapons glinting in the moonlight. "Stupid surface," the raccoon grumbled, "too much stuff blockin' my eyes."

Raz shuddered his breathing as they continued, and if Night looked at his face then he'd see lines down from his eyes, showing that he was crying, and by now, it seemed that he was so dehydrated that although he wanted to cry; his body wanted to cry, but nothing would come out, and only the scene of sadness from him was from his maw creating sobbing and other noises of pain, and if the area was quiet enough, then Raz's cries would carry for a short distance.

Once the forest returned to its peaceful state, Geoff continued his looting. He snacked on some apples from a bowl on the table. Hopefully the apples weren't experimented on or anything. They smelled and tasted fine, so he assumed the best and chowed down. The world won't be lost without him anyway.

He filled up his bag with goodies, then grabbed a shovel out in the garden and went to dig a shallow hole for the crow nearby and thought his thoughts as he did. Iris Gin was the crow's name, according to his client. Didn't really matter if she was a "bad" person or not. She deserved a respectful burial like anyone else.
The bear wondered if he should settle down in the woods and grow some crops to keep sustained. What if he studied alchemy himself and made potions and such to sell. If this elderly lady could do it, surely he could. He found books on alchemy while searching the place, including some recipes Iris created. It will take a good amount of time to get running, but it was a more honest living than petty killing. Maybe he should start here, now that the place was vacant.

Once the hole was a decent enough size and depth -- he didn't want to spend a huge chunk of time getting it perfect -- he placed the crow in an empty wooden crate, and managed to lower it in. It was a rough landing, but he tried. By the time he got to filling the hole back up with dirt, he was exhausted.

Geoff finished filling the grave and placed seven stones in a ring onto the leveled dirt. He'd place some flowers in the middle as well, but the only ones nearby were in the shack for potion making, and those might come in handy later. Surely the old crow would understand.
He tiredly stood in front of the grave with his hands clasped. "Rest in peace, Iris Gin."
The first person he could give a burial they deserved. Now his mind was at ease.

The bear staggered back into the shack. Tomorrow he'll head back to his client and turn in the necklace and feathers, maybe get the gems and jewelry appraised. However, they could have an important use, so perhaps he should wait on that. He should look into those books and try finding more information.
His tired mind was so full of thoughts of what to do now, but he needed some sleep before getting to it. And so he curled up in bed and drifted off.

Ray, after a time, sighed and set up camp. He looked mildly displeased, as the dwarf-raccoon wasn't used to camping in the open. The noises and constantly moving foliage kept him on edge. He eventually got a small fire going, had some salted meat cooking inside a cook-pot, and had set about a small tent, just comfortable enough for the smallish creature. Ray was then struck with a terrible realization. "By my beard,I left home without m'drinks!" He sighed heavily, sat down at the fire, and moped for a few minutes. Ray's mood eventually passed, and he took up singing songs of old, his voice carrying high and away through the air.

And as easy as it should be to off him, he doesn't need a band of smash happy metal men trying to track him down. So it would be time to go with some good old fashion trickery. And was heading to a town not quite far from her, keeping his hood on and then pondering up something. Though he had to stop and check his staff, it would be unwise to have it displaying not so friendly runes. If one could tell, and so he decided to slip it inside his rope and carefully placed it on his back so he could walked hunched over like a older man. And took any sturdy and long stick he could find, so it would make as a poor mans cane and kept moving forward.

((I guess I'm stuck doing that anyway, was hoping someone would run into my character at some point. Tybalt almost did but turned back. :P ))

In the middle of the night, creaking of the shack door startled the bear awake. He turned to face the silhouette in the doorway.

"Oh, did I wake you?" the silhouette spoke with a quiet feminine voice around middle aged. Exactly like his client.

"Hazel?" Geoff sniffed and sat himself up. "Heh, caught me napping. Was gonna head to ya..."

"No worries. You did the job. Saw your work outside. I'd prefer her burned to ashes myself, but that wasn't part of the deal, was it?" She chuckled.

"Oh. Guess I could have done that, but that might alert people... Oh, right."
Geoff shuffled through his pack and pulled out a small metal container with the emerald necklace and twelve feathers.

Hazel took the container and examined the necklace.

"It's the real deal, right?" Geoff asked. "Not a decoy?"

Hazel rubbed the emerald, and it began to glow. "Must be it! Perfect. Thanks, Ghost."

He can't walk in the streets like casual.

Marble sighed.

"I'll bring you to my hideout. Can you even walk?" Marble asks, extending his arm.

Raz struggled to get up, and although he was able to for a few moments, he immediately fell back onto the ground with a whine.

"Crap. You want me to carry you?" Marble asks, waiting for his response.

Raz looked down and nodded weakly.

(Merry Christmas, Raz)

"Letting a sweet, handsome stranger carry you to safety? Sure. You're a long way to the nearest town anyway. I'll take you to my hut." Marble lied about the nearest town, he just can't. Marble carried Raz carefully, extra careful on the legs. He carried him on his back.

"I think I can carry you to it.. just a kilometer. Or two." Marble said as he started walking.

"Where'd you come- oh. You can't talk." Marble sighed.

Raz simply rolled into Marble's arms, and then with a slight feeling of safety, Raz fell asleep just before Marble asked his question.

Yet the two arrived at the said hut. It was beside a hill and cloaked in trees. Marble dropped Raz accidentally due to exhaustion.

Raz woke up mid fall and started screaming, and as he landed k  his rear left hip, he let out a pained scream, followed by a loud crying.

Marble looked at Raz with a worried expression.

"Dammit, Marble. You didn't broke his bone, didn't you. You stupid fox." Marble said as he pulled Raz at the armpit to the house. He carried Raz on a worn-out bed. It's semi-soft semi-hard.

Marble examines his leg. "What's wrong, Dragon?" Marble asks as he took a bottle of water, he removed the cork(?) of it and drinks some.

Raz's hip wasn't broken, it was just very sore. Buy another thing that was hurting was his right wing; his wing was dislocated and did need attention as there was a flesh irregularity around that joint, showing that something  was wrong with it.

Raz continued to cry in pain as marble had carried him with putting pressure on his hurt wing; causing the wing joint to press against bone.

Marble noticed his dislocation, it's swelling. Most parts of his body is sore, well, the lower body is. Marble took his right wing gently.

"I'm going to fix this.. and I'll count to three. Do you agree?" Marble asks as he took a grip on his right wing.

Post by: Razuel on December 26, 2016, 05:39:48 AM
Raz watched as MArble placed their hands on his wing and he started to squirm as he could feel a slight pain, causing him to whimper from the slight pain... regardless, he did agree and when his wing would be popped back in, he'd let out a tear-causing crying scream.

"Okay.. okay. I did this before. Don't worry.." Marble said as he suddenly shouted..

"Three!" Marble pushes the dislocated bone to it's designated joint in a surprise.

Raz wrapped his tail tightly around Marble's wrist as it was popped in; despite Marble's familiarity with dislocations, is could be argued that he's never come across a dragon(A feral one at that) with a dislocation, so the anatomy most likely wouldn't be familiar.

Raz let out a sad and pained cry as his wing was popped back in, and once over, his tail loosened slightly from Marble's wrist, but wouldn't let go despite his tired and weak look; he made slow breaths as he laid there after having his wing popped back in.

(I did the exact opposite xD)

"Look, dragon. Stop the waterworks. I'm sure you'll be fine.. I guess... you need sleep." Marble said as he sighed that he thinks he chose the right words.

Raz continued to cry, but his cries quieted to whimpers and he started to pull himself to Marble with not much ease, as he wanted to be held and comforted.

Marble was hesitating, but he was in there for Raz.

"Yep. Sleep is all you need."

Raz made a whine directed at Marble... but he quickly grew to realism that Marble wasn't going to hold him, so he slowly curled up to shortly after fall asleep.   Raz's breathing as he slept was slightly raspy.

Raz continued to sleep and as the room became a bit darker as the sun moved to behind the house, the stone in Raz's chest caused the room to light up slightly with a red hue.

If marble were to feel Raz's pulse, he'd see that the stone is glowing in accordance to Raz's pulse, also, he'd feel that the stone gave off a gentle warm feeling.

Marble tries to figure it out, but needs an explanation. For him, it's magical. He really doesn't care about magic, but he felt the warm feeling it gives. He thought it was a heater for him.. to make him warm.

The two strange men walked along a worn dirt road, the larger of the two men hummed quietly hummed to himself to pass the time. The pair stopped when they heard what sounded like a large animal attacking a bush, starting to head towards the noise to find out what was causing it.

Ray drew his hammer, as he heard someone shuffling around the brush, and backed away from the hedges. "We aren't alone, gem-holder."
