Title: EVERYONE gets a fursuit (closed)

on gaia, im part of a group that helps eachother quest for items..we have a lineup..and when its your turn...you say the item you want..and the entire group quests for gold and everyone pitches in to save up for it, cause its so expensive to try to get it by yourself.
and after a bout 2 months of everyone questing..they can buy it, and then we move to the next person in the line.

i thought that would be a cool concept for fursuits..NOBDOY can afford those things, so what if we had fursuit money pools??
we open a donation pool...everyone that can afford to, donates as much as they want from $1 and up. and we have a goal counter that is how much that fursuit would cost (the person questing has to donate too). so then we reach the goal, they get there fursuit and we go to the next person in the line!
 :3

yeah it would take a really long time. but ya know what? people would get fursuits!
i even did the math...the average suit is around $1,500..
say 50 people donated $30 each
or 75 donated $20
or 150 donated $10

these are the rules to participate
1) a purchase may not exceed $1,500
2) a purchase does not need to be a full suit. so if your purchase exceeds the money limit you have to get yours in parts.
3) you can re- enter the donation pool. but your going to be put at the end of the line for a suit
4) you may come back for parts of a incomplete suit.
5) re-entering the pool is limited to a completion of one suit
6) you are not required to donate set amounts, it can be as much as you like however often you like.
7) you are required to contribute for your own quest
8) you cannot never donate, then ask to be quested for. you have to have helped someone else get there suit. so you cant get your own then just leave, thats unfair to everyone else
9) if a suit exceeds the $1,500 rule. but your suit exceeds that cap for any reason, under special curcumstances it can be allowed. but we will only quest to that bar..anything over you must provide yourself. but will need to contact either me or wingedZepheyr first to disuss

I don't really plan on getting a fursuit but I'd gladly donate to one of my fellow furs.

I like the idea, but there will be that guy im sure that will take his suit and leave and doesnt even donate back >.> not even a penny and that would be most unfair

but other that that negative thought i think this is a awesome idea. maybe we can donate money into a pool and some we can order from fursuit makers on this site like tarramoon and one other i cant think of right now but theres another one. I dont make suits but i can make ear hats

i would personally donate to this pool. i love to see people get something.
it would be cool if it were a sceret like "hey the whole site picked you to get a suit because your awesome!" but thats kinda imposable

*we should make this a motion and some one should second this, to make it happen*

I can make tails and gloves (Trying to learn to make the feet paws soon) I'll post some pictures to see if I'm up to par, but I'd join this, sounds great! :D

So this is a group of furs that donate a little cash from each person into a large savings account so that we can all get fursuits?
I might be interested, but do you guys have a website or something like that?
I want to make sure this is official and not a scam or anything.
This is a really good idea, by the way.
Thanks! :3
Oh, and I also wanted to know if I were to contribute (and eventually save up enough with the help of everyone and myself) request a fursuit from the fursuiter of my choice or do we all order from the fursuiter who's on board with you guys?
Title: Re: EVERYONE gets a fursuit
Post by: ___ on March 19, 2011, 04:31:06 AM
Seems like they're just starting up...
It would be good to have a website to have a concrete place to link to. :)
Title: Re: EVERYONE gets a fursuit
Post by: Caffeinated on March 19, 2011, 05:14:18 AM
i think a trusted person should make some kinda paypal account specificaly FOR this...and we all can donate to that, and the person can be given the money to get the fursuit from whatever fursuiter they want

Seems fair. :)
Also, is there some age limit?
Let's say I donate a hundred dollars, a few months (maybe a year or so) later do we split up the money and all buy fursuits after consistent donations?  Or is it one fursuit at a time?  In the end, we all have more money than we put it in the first place because we split it up and share, right?
I'm sorry-I'm like a little kid-you have to explain things slowly and simply for me.  X3
Title: Re: EVERYONE gets a fursuit
Post by: Kaprika on March 19, 2011, 05:22:44 AM
no age limit, this is what im envisioning

there is a one place we all pool our donations..there is a line, anyone wanting a fursuit has to get IN this line..and first person gets first suit

they tell us how much that suit shall cost. the site its to be from and such, and thats our donation goal!
we all donate to the one paypal account. and once its got enough..the person in charge of the account contacts the person wanting the suit..they discuss what it shall be. and the donation person goes and gets the fursuit payed for and taken care of

then the pool is empty..and we donate again for the next person.
this way EVERYONE chips in a lil here and there, and EVERYONE gets a suit

Maybe the people that can do fursuits in the group can offer a discount for the other members? :)

well ill be happy to do all of it.

i eventualy want my fursuit too, so it wouldnt be right for me to want one, but not help others get one. i certainly shall donate too

so we know what everyones fursuit would cost also...anyone wanting to be in on this, should find the site they want it done with...get a quote..and post it here.

for me, its Clockworkcreatures.com
and i got a quote of $3,200....:/ yes i know...EXPENSIVE. so im not likely to be first in line for this.

Yeah, when I said I wanted "Quarrezel" I forgot to mention that that's just the screen name on Furaffinity for Clockwork Creature.  It's cool you want to get a fursuit from the same person.^^  Man, those suits are friggin' awesome!  But there also pretty dang expensive. 0__0. Thats why I'll just hopefully get just a partial: a head and tail from Clockwork Creature and then hand paws and feet from Beetlecat (she makes awesome paws!) which would make out to be around $1,500.  So mark me down for Clockworkcreature.com and Beetlecatoriginals.com. ^_^

Aw man, from MagpieBones, the partial I want would cost $1,200 in all. (She's a FA user as well)

What's this group's name? :)
Should we advertise yet?

advertise...DEFINATELY spread the word!
talk to your furfriends..comment in threads, and as for a name.......

.."Fur for Friends" this donation is going to be called fur for friends, or FFF

I will!
Do you have an account on FAF?  I don't quite have an account yet-but if you do that's a great place to advertise.  Maybe I could make a banner and you could post the Ad on FA forums?

You want me to make a website to make it more official?

if you wanna be in line for a fursuit

Ok.
I'll be both a fursuit maker, as well as a donater. :)
I'd like to be in line for a fursuit from Magpie Bones  on FA.  (Quote - $1,200 - 1,500)
http://www.furaffinity.net/user/Magpiebones

Um... Like that?
And I was thinking of getting the Fursuit Field Guide group on FA to advertise us. :)

I think its only fair to limit it to one per donater.

I'll start donating when it's someone else's turn. (Kinda weird, to donate to myself) It'll give me time to find some substantial income so I can give more too.
Who's next, and it'd be kinda cool to feature this group on TFN. I'll put a word in with Armagne. :)

is it alright if I post on FA forums to get more members? Ofcourse I'd report back to you so that you could update your list and I'd also post the e-mail and banners so that they can donate and post the banners in their sigs.
Also, sorry for having to change my qoute-but could you change my qoute to handpaws and feetpaws from Magpiebones instead of Beetlecat?  It's still the head and tail from Clockwork Creature, though.  Heres her website: http://www.furaffinity.net/user/magpiebones/
And the price is still the same; 1500-1750.
Thanks!:3

Should be fine I guess... As long as I have people's usernames/contact information in case I need to talk to them about refunds. Also, make sure advertising this is allowed under the FA forum rules; I don't know the rules there.

Oh man, I'd love to finally have a fursuit.  I feel bad because the first fursuit I commissioned wasn't that great, and the second person I tried to commission I kept having to push off, and finally cancel because of severe money problems... I'd be able to donate whatever I could, but I'd love to be on the list...

I am new to fursuiting but love the idea.

I would love to get just a head. It would be cheaper then asking for a fullsuit or anything.

i also make handpaws which I can do commissions for. They can also be dontations after i recieve my head.

1. Are you interested in getting a fursuit, or just helping out?
A) I would love to do both.

2. Are you able to donate through Paypal?
A)I have already started donating. I put in a few dollars i had just a little while ago.

3. If you want a fursuit, is there anyone specific you want it to be made by? List an estimate cost for that maker if possible.
A)No one in particular

At the moment i only make handpaws to the forearm. I make them for $35 plush shipping. Claws are included with the paws for no extra fee.

Link to info on commissions here:

1. Are you interested in getting a fursuit, or just helping out?
Definitely Both!

2. Are you able to donate through Paypal?
I will for sure, but money is tight at the moment. I will definitely donate when the group starts going a bit more.

3. If you want a fursuit, is there anyone specific you want it to be made by? List an estimate cost for that maker if possible.
I'd LOVE to get it from beastcub, but for now, I wanna make my own.

For commissions at this moment in time (due to time restraints) I can only do hands and ears really cheap. I try to just charge JUST for materials and just take any donation after that. I find fursuiting more of a hobby than a career. Later on, I will probably have to start charging more because I'm about to quit my job x.x

This is a good idea!

1. Are you interested in getting a fursuit, or just helping out?
- I would like both.. I like to help other people, and I like that people help me too..

2. Are you able to donate through Paypal?
- Yes I am

3. If you want a fursuit, is there anyone specific you want it to be made by? List an estimate cost for that maker if possible.
-I don't care of who it is.. ^^, and I can go for a partial ..!

i reckon you should have a list of fursuit makers links in the topic.
so people can have a look

also ask around and see if anyone will do discounted fursuits for this
like i know i would

a partial from me would probaby be around £500
but for this I'de say. £400/£350

and i'm pretty sure other suit makers would be willing aswell

There is a stickied thread right on the top of this board with that information:
http://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?topic=9619.0
Though obviously not all fursuit makers will be in there, it should be enough for people to browse and get ideas for who they want to make their suit.

It souns like a neat idea if it should work. But...with the high expectations some people are aiming for (so far Magpiebones and Clockwork Creatues are in the first 3 listed) it would take a VERY long time to get everyone a fursuit (head or otherwise).
I may have read the thing wrong (and if I did please tell me) but is everyone expected to get one or are people going to get one until they stop donating? Does that make sence? Maybe?

It would be a better idea if people who made fursuits donated their services and gave a genral price for what they'll be making for people here. At least then the number won't be going everywhere form 1k-2k to $200 or anything.

Just a thought because otherwise I don't see this working (sorry for sounding negative by the way).

I'd like to be added on the list. If that's okay.
I'm NOT looking to get a fursuit but maybe a tail and feet (or furry pants) is all. And if the the pool for me was at least half the price ($50 in all it's $100) I can pay for the rest and still be able to donate. :)

I'm working on doing hands and heads too if anyone (dares, Lol) commission me. X)

EDIT:
1. Are you interested in getting a fursuit, or just helping out?
~ If I can I can try both.

2. Are you able to donate through Paypal?
~ I'll make paypal account an see.

3. If you want a fursuit, is there anyone specific you want it to be made by? List an estimate cost for that maker if possible.
~ I just want pants (legs, feet and tail if that's alright). And I'll ask around for the cheapest alternative. =)

2. Are you able to donate through Paypal?
~I all ready did and planing to donate more by doing art commissions

3. If you want a fursuit, is there anyone specific you want it to be made by? List an estimate cost for that maker if possible.
~dude a suit made by terra moon would be most awesome (has been wanting one from her)
It will probably cost 600+ from here but i am more than willing to pay at lease half of what ever the cost might be.
a suit from these guys would also be awesome!http://fccreations.webs.com/pricelist.htm (http://fccreations.webs.com/pricelist.htm)

i defiantly think that there should be some sort of cap.
because some people might get. a rather inexpensive suit, that takes less time to donate for thus moving the line along quicker.
and then some people will ask for expensive suits. which will take A LOT longer to save for.
i also think people don't think people deserve to be picky. Since its other peoples money.

i think someone needs to take the lead. get in contact with as many  suit makers as possible. explain the situation to them. Promise them they'll still get money from it, but ask if they can just lower the price for this need.

so then instead of paying 3 grand for some suits. and 500 for another

you'll have a selection of cheaper suits. all within a decent range. if you get me?

$3.000 id say would be a acceptable price cap...cause honestly suits are expensive ANYHOW.
the whole point of this little pool system is because there so dang expensive..now, if someone is willing to buy there suits in PARTS..like i will be, say...the donation pool helps me buy the head, and the body..thats gonna run up to $2,400..and i myself will get the gloves feet and tail later or by myself. cause some people really dont WANT cartoony fursuits..like my fursona really isnt designed by a cartoony template. its gotta be the expensive kind else she would just look funny.

so $3000 is the price cap, but if you want something that costs more you have to get at the back of the fursuit line and go through it again if you want more fursuit parts. YOU CAN ENER MORE THAN ONCE, you just gonna wait your turn again  like everyone else.
but we will only help you get one suit..you can return for other PARTS of a suit but not to get a whole nother one. thats just not fair to the others

Is there a date when we can/should donate?
I want to (now that I can) but Banks closed for me today. I can tomorrow and as the week goes.

you can donate WHENEVER and however many times you want..and however much you like

(you ARE required to donate to your own fursuit pool)

I dont think it will work very well if we use $3,000 for one person when other need like $200 or so for something. I think you should organize it better by putting some cheaper things ahead of the more expensive. Do maybe 3 cheaper things under 300 and then maybe something over 500. I think it's wierd that one person get a fullsuit for $3,000 or so and someone just wants a head for less then $300.

Most fursuits I've seen people get are at least $2,000. You must be getting THE WORKS if it costs you $3,000. Or it's just a really big name builder.

hmmm...i suppose this is a good point..i really dont want us spending half a year raising money for one person...

how about making the cap at....$1,500?

well yeh.
thats why i said. someone need to ask around, and see if the suiters would be kind enough to join in this little thing :)
because they might cut $3000 down to $2000
you know?

Title: Re: EVERYONE gets a fursuit
Post by: Kaprika on March 29, 2011, 03:51:04 PM
well hang on..there is no restrictions as to who makes the suits and where they get it..my restriction is at pricings...because if someone absolutely wants a nice lookin suit thats not cartoony, or wants to be sure they not getting a flimsy suit. thats there buisness.
BUT
this price gauge is where the limitation is at...BECAUSE those high end suit makers charge alot..and that means if someone wants to get a suit..they have to get just a peice of it.
like myself...im going to be working towards clockwork creature.com...and thats high end ill say that now.
BUT..my price is in the three thousands..so i cant get it..so instead im gonna use the fur fur all pool to just get a head. and who knows...mabey later on i can afford other parts myself. but im going to go back to the main thread post and let it be known the limitations are this

1) a purchase may not exceed $1,500
2) a purchase does not need to be a full suit. so if your purchase exceeds the money limit you have to get yours in parts.
3) you can re- enter the donation pool. but your going to be put at the end of the line for a suit
4) you may only use this donation pool to get ONE SUIT. you may come back for parts of a incomplete suit. but you may not get another whole suit entirely
5) re-entering the pool is limited to two times..after your second donation, you are no longer allowed to quest. though you may still donate
6) you are not required to donate set amounts, it can be as much as you like however often you like.
7) you are required to contribute for your own quest
8) you cannot never donate, then ask to be quested for. you have to have helped someone else get there suit. so you cant get your own then just leave, thats unfair to everyone else
9) if a suit exceeds the $1,500 rule. but your suit exceeds that cap for any reason, under special curcumstances it can be allowed. but we will only quest to that bar..anything over you must provide yourself. but will need to contact either me or wingedZepheyr first to disuss

for the time being these are the rules, and i may add others if the situation arrieses where more are needed..but please do comment and discuss with me more rules you think would be necissary. im open for suggestions

im really sorry to hear that...but if this is the case we have to stop questing for you, the money currently raised will have to go towards another quest

being this the case. whome else is looking to quest?
please comment, and tell your price..because whomever's price is lowest will be next. you have 3 days to respond before the person is chosen

Great Idea!

First off, I'd like to put my name in the hat to be a contributing designer/maker. You can check out my work here: http://phantomchicken.deviantart.com/gallery/28795570

Secondly, you may want to look at Kickstarter.com as a way of funding suits for people. If you're only focusing on one person at a time, you would only have to worry about managing the "line" of people getting suits. Also, the people who choose to fund the projects only fund the suit when the target fund raising goal is met... meaning nobody has to give up money before they need to! It's a win-win in my book.

You can check out Kickstarter here: http://www.kickstarter.com/
Their FAQ section (which is helpful): http://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq#paFund

Anyway, I hope this helps!

I'll offer my services to do fursuit making... i do tails handpaws and heads so far (as well as just ears), and will have an official site set up with prime examples within a month... I'll provide some examples off of photobucket (once i take some pics of existing stuff) and add to this reply then.  most of my prices are below $100 for tails/paws (closer to 50 - 80), unless you want something uncommonly complex or large.  I purchased paw pads and claws from monoyasha, and they are extremely worth the cost, but will be that much extra to make paws.  still under $100 for a set of paws with pads and claws, though.  Heads, can be anywhere from $200 - $400, 400 being the most extremely complex/detailed... like my head, for example, would be closer to $400 because of the frills and horns and eyes ;_;  something like a wolf? easily closer to $200.

i unfortunately can't offer any donations, because i've got no money, but I can offer work for relatively cheap.  bundle discounts, if you can get multiple parts at once :) whole partial suit from as low as $300 for basic characters.  :)

I need to get pics of my stuff up here!

This is something I could do. I don't have a set amount though, seeing as I DO have to pay rent, groceries, etc.
It would probably be along the lines of $30-$50 though.

I definitely want to reply because I think this is a great idea, I'm just reluctant donating money when I'm not sure it will be going towards what I'm donating to and since this is so scattered I'm just concerned that money has been lost.  Even if you just continuously updated the first post so it was completely accurate, that'd even be enough.

Or maybe you're just too disorganized to do something like this.  I'm not sure and I don't mean to cause offense.

this Fur-for-all program is officialy active, if you would like to be in the facebook group go here

[removed]

attention fur for all members!  its been decided where the pool funds are to be collected at.  ive had a number of members tell me that they trust me enough to manage the FFA funds, so id like to declare fur for all officialy up and running.

all donations are to go to [removed]
and please under its description, write:

 fur for all!

so i can record it in my ledger
since i am the starter of this entire program..i hope there would be no objections to me getting dibs on first go. though for the courtesy of not taking up the pool long im just gonna get some handpaws..and ive already donated $40 to the pool, so all it needs now is $30

then after that. we shall move right on to the next member <3

This project has been closed on the forum by the forum staff.

Like I mentioned to ya on FA, count me in. I will donate when I can financially, but for now, I offer my labor as a maker of partials.

Out of curiosity, how do you select who is next up for the list? I see you have folks listed by the order they expressed interest.. but not everyone has donated yet... didn't know if you had a specific spreadsheet or method, or if it was just random number generator when a wish gets completed?

that is a good question.

well, i thought that we could let it be either a raffle or user decided. like a group vote.
pick who is more deserving.
or, if there is someone with an unusualy reasonable quest..like they just want a tail thats like $50 we would take up the quest simply for how fast we could plow through it.

.pyramid scheme? no. thats when there is a ladder of people working under another under another where the person at the top makes most the profit, and the people on the bottom STAY at bottom.

this is essentialy...a fursuit charrity pool.
and you dont know these people cause they are users from  www.thefurryforum.com (http://www.thefurryforum.com) in the fursuiting section..where i actualy STARTED this group at origionaly. but since its starting to become a larger group i decided to take it over here as well and expand it. its also existing on facebook to.

you are free to join that forum too. get to know them if it makes you feel better.
we even have a number of fursuit makers that are joined in, that will make suits at special discounts specialy FOR this group.

http://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?topic=15359.0 (http://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?topic=15359.0)

its kept in a paypal account. i monitor its funds. i tried to have the moderator of thefurryforum manage it, but she already had a paypal account. so i was elected by numerous users to run it myself (as this whole group is essentialy started/managed and ran by me as well)

for paying for the suit. there is a number of suiters IN this group that would take a third party payment. but in the event the person wants there suit from a outside suit maker, there would be a conversation with the suiter as to the special situation. we would try our best to make this arrangement but for the safety of the donators money i couldnt just send the collected funds to the person were saving for. i dont want anyone getting conned, less we scare away members. this really is a great idea that in some ways relys on people to trust it. but i want to make as little opportunity for mistakes in this as possible. i want to help put fur outside like they feel it on the inside.

as for the donations. they go to the paypal account (Paypal link removed by Staff.)
and i update the pool information every donation. i keep a digital and handwritten ledger of who has donated and how much.

as for the donation system. everyone puts in a little. even the person we are questing for. the idea is that a few dollars here, a few dollars there..adds up fast when in vast numbers.

It has been dismissed as a pyramid scheme on 2 other sites. I am asking people do not join this project. they refuse to answer questions properly and are being dodgier than an organ dealer.

If you're going to ask questions about the project, please be polite about it. There's no need to yell.

Firstly, You cannot yell online. I was strongly emphasizing points. Emphasis on points that each member of this group should find highly outrageous. If I wanted to yell for the sake of making you aggravated, I could. Now, why didnt you say anything about

I will ask in a polite manner, then.

1. How is this any better than paying for it yourself? One of your leaders say it is for donating, the other says it is for prophet. Which is it?
2. How does this not resemble a pyramid scheme?
3. Why was caffeinated instantly approved for something over 1500 dollars
4. Why is it so unorganized?
5. What binds someone to stay?
6. Where are these fursuit makers you mentioned?
7. How do you get more out than you put in?
8. Is anyone insured for major losses?
9. Why should anyone else get to go first? That makes me trust you guys even less.
10. Why shouldn't a third party hold the funds?
11. If I wanted to donate, I would give to a just cause. There are bigger issues than people without fursuits. Could we not be infatuated.

Chibi, why wouldnt you answer the questions here? Do you have something to hide?  http://forums.furtopia.org/index.php?topic=42970.0 (http://forums.furtopia.org/index.php?topic=42970.0)

its kept in a paypal account. i monitor its funds. i tried to have the moderator of thefurryforum manage it, but she already had a paypal account. so i was elected by numerous users to run it myself (as this whole group is essentialy started/managed and ran by me as well)

for paying for the suit. there is a number of suiters IN this group that would take a third party payment. but in the event the person wants there suit from a outside suit maker, there would be a conversation with the suiter as to the special situation. we would try our best to make this arrangement but for the safety of the donators money i couldnt just send the collected funds to the person were saving for. i dont want anyone getting conned, less we scare away members. this really is a great idea that in some ways relys on people to trust it. but i want to make as little opportunity for mistakes in this as possible. i want to help put fur outside like they feel it on the inside.

as for the donations. they go to the paypal account (Paypal link removed by Staff.)
and i update the pool information every donation. i keep a digital and handwritten ledger of who has donated and how much.

as for the donation system. everyone puts in a little. even the person we are questing for. the idea is that a few dollars here, a few dollars there..adds up fast when in vast numbers.

Firstly, You cannot yell online.

Most people would agree that writing several sentences in all capitals letters is the equivalent of "yelling" via text. I would hope I never come across as being so unintelligent that I'd genuinely believe any sound can be carried across text on a screen. Please do not speak to me as if I am.

I also hope that people on this forum know that I take my job as an administrator seriously, and I have no intentions of letting anyone come to harm while they are here if I can help it. I'm aware of the possible downfalls of this project, and have been keeping a close eye on it since it first started.

That being said - Kaprika, who started the project, has been a part of the forum for almost a full year now. At the very least, I know she didn't just breeze in here for the purpose of stealing people's money and running off with it. I believe she meant well, and nothing can be hurt while simply trying to brainstorm ideas.

Unfortunately, due to the overall disorganization from the start and the number of drama llamas attracted to this thread, I feel it's had its chance and now it's time to shut it down. Sorry, Kaprika, but it needs to be done.
