Just a few simple things to remember when using the Artwork board:
- Please keep your art confined to one thread as much as possible. One or two extra threads might be permitted if there's good enough reason for it. It's just more convenient for people to be able to see all your work on one place.
- You're free to necro your own art thread for the purpose of posting new work at any time. This is also to make it easier for you to keep your work in one thread.
- Art thievery will not be tolerated. Posting work that you did not create yourself and calling it your own is stealing.
- When commenting on artwork, please be respectful of the artist. Many artists put a lot of time and emotion into their work, so be polite, even if you're offering constructive criticism.
- If you suspect anyone of art thievery, please contact a forum administrator about it.
-
Ermm, what about if you want to post someone elses work for them? like as a promotional type thing? You know to help them get more recognised. Because It's my mate's art that I want to show people, she gave me the go ahead to do it, but she doesn't think she's good enough.
So I was wondering if I could do that, and if so, in what board?
-
It can be placed in the main "Artistic Stuff" board: http://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?board=4.0
Just make sure you say the work isn't yours.

in a few day iam going to up load my first pice not sure how to though

You just create a new topic called "icy wolf's art" or whatever, then post your art in the thread. The images can either be attached directly to your posts (if they're small enough), or you'll have to link them from a photo hosting site like Photobucket or Imageshack.

Suppose I'll ask here, but what's the policy on posting non-furry artwork?
I do have some furry work to post, but I also have a lot of non-furry work.
Is it okay to post non-furry stuff, or should I limit it to only the furry?
-
as it says on the board description:
Discuss all things artistic, furry or otherwise, here!
as long as its by the rules, no nudity or the like, you can post it :)
-
Ahh I didn't read that.
Neat, thanks.
-
its okay to post that topic I haven't used for long time and want repost in same topic as mine artwork suppose be? :)
-
you mean you want to re-open your old art thread? Yes thats what we would like you to do. PM me the thread and Ill unlock it for you
-
Are we permitted to post art (particularly 3-D game art) on the forums? Or is it strictly meant for Anthro based art?
-
Any art in any medium is acceptable as long as it's appropriate according to the forum rules. Digital, traditional, 2D, 3D, crafts, human, animal, or human are all fine. :)
-
What about nsfw art? 0:)
-
NSFW artwork is not permitted in the general areas of the forum in any instance. Strictly PG-13 in this area.
-
Okies, thank you! ^_^
-
So... I can like.. Post any kind of art here? Like graffiti too and stuff?
-
I just noticed that there is another section of the forum for writing as opposed to drawing. Should I go ahead and put my poem there instead of in my artwork thread? And how would I rename my thread?

I see it's been a while since these questions were asked, but I hope by answering these questions now it will be much clearer for everyone else and in the (near) future for any who might be wondering the same things:
1) If you have anything written the best place to put it would be the Writing and Literature board, but you may post some writings in your Artwork thread, especially if you don't intend to make a lot of poems, stories, etc. It will get the most attention in the most appropriate board, however. So keep these points in mind when you post.
2) You can rename your thread by following these steps:
- Going back to the first, original post of the thread.
- Select the option 'Modify'.
- Change the 'Subject' at the top, in the Modify message box.
- Click 'Save' at the bottom-right of the Modify message box.
And you did it :)
Don't hesitate to contact a moderator such as myself if you have any further questions :3
