Well, I've decided to spend some time working on the forums and website here and want community input as it is your forum after all!
These competitions will be set up to covers all talents, they won't all be art based so that every user here can take part.
The first competition is for a new banner for the website and also will be displayed on the forums.
Please design and post in this post a banner suitable for the forums. I'm purposely leaving this open-ended to see what is produced to please use the size, colour schemes, fonts, graphics etc you choose, however obviously designed pieces which would not work as a banner will be left out of voting, but can be used elsewhere later.
Size limit of 750px by 150px, smaller is welcome, for reference the current banner is 728px by 90px.
1st Prize - Banner displayed on the website and forums for 6 months
2nd Prize - Banner displayed as an affiliate banner on the website.
3rd Prize - Banner displayed as an affiliate banner on the website.
So, crack open your graphics programs and get cracking, the deadline for all entries will be the 14th June 2009.

perhaps you should put a banner size limit so that the banners won't have to be re-sized in a way that could damage their quality. This way whoever wins won't have their work destroyed by size matters.

Not many entries! But nice so far!
Well, I have a feeling people are worried about their entry being worse than others and are embarrassed about thier entries, so I decided to spend a couple of minutes putting my own entry together. Take note, this is only done in a few minutes and could be much better, but, you lot try and beat it!

So, if you want colour and not stickmen in the new skin, I suggest you get cracking! You can have as many entries as you like. And you know what? We get enough people and I'll offer prizes, how does 25,000 credits sound?

"Where" could be red, "Furries" could be green, and "Connect" could be white, but thats just me :3

That's just it... those colors make an awful contrast, it's really annoying. Or maybe it's just my eyes.

The white "spots" are the shiny parts of the eye. In the middle of the banner, where the letters are, that's his nose. Those two huge, black orbs are the eyes. *giggles*

I don't think anyone realised that that was serious entry from me :P I only have paint in the way of programs!! and I'm too bad with computers to use anything else :D

Heh, until recently I used Paint for ALL my artwork, I've only recently started using GIMP. a good artist can create masterpieces in even simple (but powerful) programs like Paint. :P

Ah, ok. I thought you hadn't voted yet (because there were no votes for that one). Heh, my bad.
And just so you know, if a person has posted right before you or even just on the same page, you don't actually need to quote them. You could just say (like if you're referring to me and there were a couple posts between mine & yours), "VeeSmith, [insert comment here]" or something to that effect.
