Title: Youtube Rants
Post by: Dog Donovan on February 27, 2009, 02:16:47 PM
Yeah, I'm getting a camera for my B-Day in a few months. It's probably gonna be a nice one. And to put it to great use I'm going to create funny videos, interesting facts, and... ranting. I've ranted in real life plenty, so I can easily do so on Youtube.

I'd prefer to discuss things with humor or calmly inform them, but I can be quite persuasive through sharp pointing and yells too. I'm going to rant on everything I care about. I will rant on health topics (Cigarettes, Alchohol... Pop-tarts), discrimination topics (What is a Geek, Furry, etc. and why do people stereotype them), and on occasion, politics, economy, and current news.

How should I go about doing so? What do you think would appeal to Youtubers most? Or should I... not? Fellow Furries, I'm leaving it to you because other groups will tell me not to rant. Love. :-*

Its up to you, If you rant then you can expect a lot of comments, messages and the sort of people who have no time and argue your case.. I did a review of a game and got messages saying Go Play a real game, that I dont have a life etc. and im just thinking who really has the time for that? But YouTube is for you to upload whatever you want, Im happy making game videos, you might be happing making rants, so do as you please.

id like to see some humourous rants, make them funny but dont try too hard, you'll prolly just epic fail at it if you try too hard (everyone does).

Also lemme know when you get some up I'd like to have a look see. Heres my youtube channel, check my vids out... I don't rant my i do make some pointless random vids

Well, I think it's ok if you rant about those kinds of thing. Just follow Nokejibijab's advice: don't try too hard to make the videos funny. Comedy is hard.

Since you're leaving your Youtube Channels, I'll leave mine too. (I didn't upload much. I have more patience for in the weekends or vacation xP)

Definitely go for humorous. Or at least very intelligent/thoughtful.

Nobody wants to watch YouTube videos to get yelled at, unless you look funny when you're mad. (Not saying you do, it just happens that way sometimes.)

Alright, I've had plenty of practice with showing emotions through Dungeons and Dragons... I got some odd characters, by the way. But yeah, I'll likely be going with a humorous style. Be warned though that I have an odd, sometimes sadistic, sense of humor. I am predominantly British after all.

You might be British if you watch Monty Python and relate to it. Haaaah! That's me. Anyway, yeah, British humor all the way, like you said.

just to add.. back on the subject of your videos.. what i find is that the most popular youtube comedians, Ashens, AVGN etc.. all make fun of themselves.. the audience is laughing AT them opposed to with them, laughing at ashens because he portrays himself as a victim to all the tat he is sent, and AVGN as they laugh at his inability to control his anger. Just to let you know  :) Just picked up on it now whilst deep in thought :P

Most YouTubers, from what I have seen, are imniscient, foolhardy, knuckle-dragging imbeciles, who have no sense of reason or intelligence whatsoever. I would not push my luck when dealing with the mass stupidity that is YouTube, but you may try to get a point out to them, if you still want to.

The hilarious thing is, that's why I'm trying to get my point to them! Plus there is alot of them. I see your point though.
