Title: Where were you when the world stopped turning?
Post by: ¿ Jesse Pawman ? on September 11, 2008, 01:49:45 PM
Today is September 11, 2008. MSNBC is broadcasting what was shown on that day during the Today Show on NBC. It is 9:50 am, just a few minutes before II World Trade Center collapses.

I was at school in fourth grade sitting at my desk doing some warm up possibly doing multiplication problems. The principal came up to our room and turned on the television. I remember drawing a picture of what was going on but the picture is long gone.

I was just waking up for the second week of fifth grade when my dad started elling something unintelligable. I walked out of my room and saw the towers on fire.

In School....all we heard of it at first was, "There has been an incident in New York, so far the school has no information other than that an attack on the city has happened, Teachers will wait for further news."

We diddnt hear much the rest of the day, yeah, were that isolated.

I got home and my Dad was just.....shocked....I mean, I remember he was just.....Silent....like......Broken.....

I diddnt get it...It diddnt sink in till I talked to some friends the next day.

I thought it was just something like the Oklahoma City Bombing, it was terrible but not on that scale.

It was Gradual for me, but when it hit.....

I Remember what I thought when I finally got it.

"Thousands of my fellow Americans have died, In New York, In a Single Day, and I cant do anything....."

I was heading to school, I left the house exactly one minute before the broadcast started on the tv and the radio, I heard some talk at school but I didn't understand and I went home and asked what happened, parents told me, didn't understand.  It actually was a few years later until I realized how bad it was.

I was at school I was in grade 6 at the time...I had just arrived at school when I heard about it...it was about 30 minutes to an hour after classes had started when the first plane struck...I went home for lunch and  I saw my Dad sitting on the couch watching CNN at the time both towers had fallen as was the pentagon...I sat with my Dad nearly my whole lunch hour watching CNN play the video captured over and over..then when I got back to school for the next week that's all there was talked about in the classes....and at the time my Boss was probably assigned to go fight in Iraq...((he's a marine)). God Bless America  ((although I'm Canadian :P))

I was at school, I was in 3rd grade at the time. I forget what I was doing but the principal calls over the intercom and said that the World Trade Centers were attacked. I didn't know what was going on and when the first tower collasped I started crying, it was the worst day i ever had.

I think I was at work, a customer told me what had happened, people where all emotional it was quite the experiance. Most days people came in got what they wanted and left, but to see everybody collaboratively upset over it I knew it had to be something. It wasn't till I got home that the true gravity of the situation hit me.

On a side note it hits me how old I am when I was still out of hill school when most of you were in grade school. Wheres that cane.....

I was in 6th grade English class in Mr. Libby's room. The principal came in and turned on our TV to show us what had happened/was happening. Then all of us 6th graders were moved into Mr. Kendrick's (my homeroom teacher and math/science teacher) room to continue watching it. I was speechless while I watched it. Over the course of the day, some parents came and picked up their kids. I remember wishing my parents would pick my up (and my dad had even thought about it) but they were busy working so they didn't. And I remember when I went out to recess how my friends and I watched planes very closely as they flew overhead (there were only one or two that did fly over, but yeah). I was surprised that they even let us out for recess though.
