"The sky.....bled......a deeper red than anything I had ever seen."
the skies of Vertist are a deep shade of gray, stemming from the thick layers of clouds that cover the entire planet. Little to no life is present in most areas, with the few hospitable lands being crowded to the brim with beings searching for refuge.....
but...as life bustles, expands, creates, within the dark reaches of the planet's "Dead Zones" something dwells, something that snatches people from their homes, or more recently, makes entire towns become empty, barren husks of buildings, their inhabitant's fate left to the ugliest of minds.
Yerko, a small settlement within a dead zone is beginning to expand, more and more of the gnarled Goor trees being cleared, more and more people filing into it, trying to leave the crowded slums of the metropolices.
The beings not of the dark of this planet have no knowledge of the beings outside the walls of their cities or towns.......
that is soon to change.....
Im not revealing any more of the story till people join.
it will basically have no central point or plot, just disjointed quests and missions.
the start point is Yerko, about the size of San Diego, California, small compared to a city such as LA or New York

What kinda timeline we looking at, Middle ages, presant, future ect.
Name: Tezztor
Species: Raptor
Military Class: Officer
Quirks: Values honor, Not extremely friendly, very moral and rigid in his ways.
Special Abilities: Melee Combat Master with tooth, claw and tail. Good marksman. magically resistant and Immune to mind tampering.
Tezztor stands firm in a room filled with the sound of bleeps and bloops from many military screens and equipment. The room was lit with resemblance of a neon nightclub. In the center a few great minds beamed over a table computer.
"Very little is known about the invaders sir, all attempts to study or capture a specimen have failed." The lead scientist explained to Tezztor
"We need to get some kind of data on thesse creatures. The citizens of thiss city are disappearing and the military is being called in to handle the problem. But I don't fancy ssending in my boys till I know what we are up against." Tezztor said, obviously concerned by the lack of recon.
The Mayor turned to Tezztor a bit fustrated with the situation. "All do respect general, I wish you all would be a bit more quick to get in there and stop whatever is killing my citizens. Also we got Yerko, a growing settlement outside of the city, we don't want whatever is in there to spread to it."
"Ssending troops in there without proper intel isn't going to help mayor. We'd jusst be adding more MIA to the list" Tezztor said sternly

Worker Class: Agricultural worker, but is doing volunteer time with the CDG.
Quirks: Loyal to those he trusts, cold to those he doesn't. He is usually quite gently but does have a bit of a short fuse.
Special abilities: Frighteningly accurate with his rifle, a bolt action weapon which he uses without a scope out of personal preference.
Arke sits in a makeshift guard tower that looked as if it might have been an old radio tower. Looking down at the area, he couldn't help but think of the book he was reading, about a world that had moved on. Of course he had yet to meet a gun-toting savior with a troubled past, so the book did him little good now. He adjusted his helmet, which was big on him and probably useless against whatever was out there, and made sure his rifle was in firing order.

Ceri strolled along a narrow path in the woods, looking for a tree to chop down. Her quota for the day was almost finished. Then she could retire to her lodge in the heart of the woods. "I should go in town and see what's going on. I'm in need of suppiles anyway." She chuckled darkly, setting her sights on a wispy pine tree a meter or two from the clearing up ahead. Her eyes narrowed as a jay called from above her head.

the darkness shrouded peace surrounding the outskirts of yerko hissed in an awful silence, wisps of fog trailing and curling like fingers, enticing any near the edge of the woods.
Location: Generator station 4, city outskirts.
A broken electrical fence stands gaping open, a few shreds of flesh the only indication of forced entry....suddenly....the massive roaring generators shreik and shut down, casting the city into enveloping darkness......and that is when the baying of the beasts began....

The lights of the briefing room flickered and went out, causing a few curious gasps from the inhabitants of the room. Seconds later the room lit up with the glow of red.
"Lookss like they are at it again. Sound the alarmss get all available personnel at the ready. " Tezztor ordered to the Lt in the room as he walked torwards, then out of the door. He made his way outside, scientist and the mayor in tow as well as two guards. "Seal the gatess, if anything tries to get in, kill it."
"General! What about the civilians inside and those in the town?" the Mayor asked frantically.
"Get the civilians in the bunker. Those outside will have to fend for themselvess" he replied with a stern voice.
"But..." the Mayor tried to say before being interupted
"Mayor I can undersstand your concern but we musst maintain a base of operations in the area or we will be of no help to anybody in the city." Tezztor explained.

He curses as the floodlights of his guard tower go out, leaving him in the darkness until his eyes can adjust. He grabs his handheld radio, hoping he was in range of someone who knew what was going on. "This is Yerko watchtower four, I've got a problem with my floodlights. Anyone know what's going on? Over." His other hand is tight on his rifle, eyes scanning the land below. And then he heard them... "Watchtower four, there's something out here. Can I get some reinforcements, over?"

Loud Baying erupted from the smaller outposts on the city's right flank, frantic radio calls being sent through on the emergency line, calls for support, Ammunition, medical equipment, weapons, all were clogging the systems at main central control. Within minutes, the calls became silenced, one, by one, by one. Soon, the smaller last defence posts were filling in the void, calling about rapidly moving targets, swarm attacks, where when one fell three took its place.
one call shreiked louder than the others, coming from the main defence corridor, "We have a break in the line, withdrawing to last stand positions, Over."

Yells and orders can be heard echoing through the dimly lit base, soldiers running here and there around them. Trucks lights being turned on the give light in the absense of power. A request for reinforcements comes through the radio
"I'll send two squads and a engineer your way tower four, keep me appraised of your sstatus over." Tezztor barked through the radio, trying to overdo the sound of the helicopter in the background taking off to give searchlight support.
"Sir we don't know for sure if our weapons will effect them" the scientist said worried.
"Pray they do" Tezztor replied unsure.

Shreiks, shouts, gunfire and explosions can be heard ripping through the smaller outposts, a few city blocks erupting into urban combat zones, bodies of civillians, soldiers and the beasts themselves litter the streets. "Sir, our weapons are effective, I repeat, effective, but their numbers are too great, we need to initiate The Arc's Light, I Repeat, Initiate The Arc's Light on sector 4 through 7." the call came from a wounded but still fighting major on the city's blazing flank, motioning for his remaining troops to withdraw, "dont be within the blast radius."
Note: the Arc's Light is a massive anti-Freak weapon that basically vaporizes any and all living things within a certain range, scarring buildings while leaving them relatively intact, it is a last resort weapon, discharge time.....5 seconds.

Arke had abandoned his tower almost immediately after he had requested reinforcements. Now, he was frantically trying to hot wire a jeep. "Negative! Negative! Don't send anyone out here! Gods, they just keep coming! I'm falling back, and I recommend everyone else in the area do the same! These things-" His voice drops from the radio, the only audible sounds some kind of grunting. A shot is heard, followed by more grunting. "I... I don't know what they are, but there are too many of them." He sounds out of breath now. "I'm falling back to the wall. Tower four out."

the beasts bayed louder and louder, their forms hidden by the dark, they quickly took advantage of the empty defence post and pushed into the city, eying the only moving vehicle in the sector.

Sounds of gunfire can be heard off in the distance, the crackling of heavy weapons fire amongst the darkness of the night.
"We have recieved reports of outposts falling all over the area. We can not rissk a breach. Captian, order heavy artillery to bombard each hotzone." He said in earnest as he turned to the scientist. "If you have any ideas now would be the time to mention them."
"We just don't have the data s...sir" the scientist said wearily noticing the spotlights of the bases NE watchtower light up
Around the outpost being of unnatural origin raced torward the lines. Bullets flying through them, cutting them down in waves. But as each fell more came. The sound of heavy artillery can be heard booming in the background.
"They are here already! Prep the choppers get the civs out of here. All available personnel to the lines, we gotta protect the artillery, buy us ssome time" he yelled as he made his way to one of the defensive bunkers
Soldiers all around ran to the defensive positions, and the deafening fire of heavy support weapons could be heard. The general grabbed his pistol out of its holster and fired at the incomming assailants.

as beast and defender alike fell before eachother in the cold embrace of death, a break in the clouds above let a bright beam of red light surge through to the ground, but as it impacted the ground, it spread like no other light....as if it were liquid. the Beasts, ferocious one second, became docile the next, halting their assault even as the desperate defenders continued their firing. as the screams and roars died down, a faint coo could be heard through the chaos, a feminine voice, calling out to the monsters, and to this, the beasts retreated, leaving their victims stunned and confused, the light that had played through a moment ago retreating as well.....
"And thus.....The silence overtook them."

He guns the throttle on the jeep, wondering why he didn't grab an assault rifle at least. He passes another abandoned watch tower when the telltale shriek of artillery shells split the relative quiet. Halfway through the first volley a shell strikes near enough to flip his jeep, trapping him underneath. Slowly, dazed, he crawls under the back where he might get some protection from the creatures. He grabs his radio and hits the talk button. "This is Marksman Bowman of Yerko watchtower four. I'm stranded in one of the hot zones under a flipped jeep. I'm pretty sure I'm safe for now, but I don't want to be out here too long. Can any units near sector two assist, over?" His voice wavered, and was mostly covered by the sound of the shells and creatures running past. Under the jeep, he could not see the beam of light.

an ominous silence overtook the devastated portions of the city, as well as the outposts, survivors crawling out of their defences, looking at the destruction wrought by the monsters. just as the quiet seemed to reach it's high point, the video monitors on the city's mainframe came to life, a silhouetted face appearing, draped in a veil, "Anthros.....you beleive this world to be yours for your pleasure?" she cackled slightly, her laugh almost alien, "dont revel in your "Victory" for too long.....I shall return.....and when I do.....Pray to your Heathen Gods that I make it quick and painless..... ehe'sh Nufulr Fuur!" (Translation: Forgotten children of Eden.)

Guns rattled until a large red light erupted from the sky. Then what could only be described as a otherworldly moment of silence as creature and fur alike ceased to attack. Soldiers all stopped firing, both terrified and in awe of what was happening. Before they knew it the creatures had disappeared.
Tezztor holstered his gun and walked outside back torward the operations building. "What in the name of furs everywhere jusst happened? I need status reports on the double. I want ammo resupplied to all troops and patrols to search and all clear the town, and I need thiss all yesterday soldierss!" he barked as he made his way to the control room. "Mayor I need you to get on the TV, as of right now there is a lockdown of the town as of now. Citizens are to remain at home."
As he walked into the control room the main power came back on. A buzzing of computers and equipment sang together in harmony as if paying tribute to their survival of the night. Scientists scrambled back and forth carrying data on the night before. This was just the beggining

Time: the Next Day
Event: Festival by more rural inhabitatants.
Reason for distress signal: Soldiers going through a patrol (and looking to score some Liquor from locals) discovered the town torn apart, few survivors remaining.
The town was in shambles, limbs strewn about like some sick type of decoration. all that was known, from the few survivors, was that a woman had walked through the town, and brought the beasts with her. she had left a small transmission disk, that played out the message, "Dance, dance, dance with me, spin into oblivion, call, call call, for me and hope im still listening." As far as the soldiers could relate it...it was a challenge.

Arke lays huddled under his jeep, not liking the silence one bit. He had spent the night lying in the dirt because he couldn't force the doors open. His radio had died around midnight, and now he struck the side of his vehicle every so often with his otherwise useless communication device. Of course, this was only after he had shouted himself hoarse.

a rescue crew made their way through the wreckage, stabbing the rotting corpses of the beasts along the way, they heard a slight clanging noise from an overturned jeep and rushed to it, soon helping it's occupant escape.

The morning light shone through the plastic covering that were the military's excuse for windows in the tents. Tezztor opened his eyes while giving off a groan that only gave proof of the general's fustration. He had hoped it to only be a bad dream but he knew it to be real. A voice rung through the radio on the table next to him. "Sir we found a surviver from tower four, he was trapped under a jeep sir." the soldier said. He groaned, not wanting to start the day but forcively he picked up the radio and replied, "Hear you loud and clear, bring him to the operations center, he may have info given his experiances last night, over" He tossed the radio back to the table and got up and stretched, deciding to not wear his officer uniform today but rather more appropriate combat attire, as a second battle seemed inevitable.

the crisp morning air annoyed more than calmed the troops helping to rebuild the city, new, less permanent defences were in place, helping return some sence of security for the inhabitants.

Arke approaches the ops center, his bolt action rifle replaced with an M-14 and P-90 from the unfortunate abundance of extra weapons. Given the previous nights events, his casual demeanor with a superior officer was permissible, at least in his eyes. "You wanted to see me, sir?" His hands sweated on the small sub machinegun, his mind telling him that he was going to be court martialed for abandoning his post.

Tezztor eyed the soldier before replying, "So it iss you who called on the radio asking for reinforcements. Judging by the fact the reinforcementss were killed, and you were found far from the outpost, I'm gonna assume you abandoned your post before they even got there. I got to assk you what value exactly do you put on life? That they died comming to aid one who did not even wait for them." Tezztor shifted himself, hands behind his back keeping watch on the soldier's movements. This was not really the reason he had asked to see the soldier but in the events that happened he needed to get a grasp of where his soldier's minds where.

He looks down at his gun, unable to bring himself to look at the commander. "I... I tried to tell them... There were just so many..." He thought he had told the reinforcements to fall back while he was hot wiring the jeep, but could he just be telling himself that? Even if he had told them, could they have heard him through the chatter? Gods, he should have done something else. Should have stayed put and died. Should never have called for reinforcements. His eyes start to water, and he doesn't trust himself to speak.

A solemn faced soldier walks into the tent, saluting crisply, "sir, this message just came in, Uhuros just fell, all military and civilian forces...are MIA, most likely KIA, a reclamation force is heading there now, would you like to accompany them?"

Tezztor nodded at the soldier. "I'll be out shortly" he said and turned his gaze back to the soldiers from tower 4. "Compose yourself soldier. Regardless of the moral situation ssurounding your decision, it was probably the right one. Outposts everywhere were outrun and as you just heard, uhuros as well. If not for the withdrawl of the invading force we to might of fallen. Your comming with me, I want to hear the details of last night from power out to how you got stuck under a jeep. BTW what is your name soldier, you sseem to have lost your name patch." Tezztor walked out of the tend to the jeep, waiting for the soldier to come.

He follows closely behind, only now becoming aware of the large rip in his shirt. "Bowman, sir. Marksman First Class with the volunteer division." He takes a few deep breaths, a breakdown in front of a superior officer being about the last thing he needed. Sitting in the back of this less wrecked jeep, he tells of how he scrambled down the tower after calling in the reinforcements, hot wiring the jeep and trying to order the soldiers moving his way back, and finally of being caught in the airstrike. "...and then they just flipped it over."

She noticed the sounds of battle as she neared the end of the trail, dragging the fallen pine behind her. "What the--?" She started, hazel eyes widening at the red light pouring out of the sky. "What in Selene's name is going on?" She swore, kicking up her pace a notch as she ran into the town. She found Watchtower four and left the pine at the edge, moving to investigate the ruins. "Holy..." She clamped her mouth shut and pulled up a handful of dirt, smelling it. "Who brought them here?"

Uhuros buzzed once again with life, a reclamation force along with civilians willing to move back into the city were at work restoring the city, the outer edges of the forrests where being tortched, making it easier to clear the trees to form a wider perimeter. Several buildings were converted into a military headquarters, with soldiers and scientists rushing out every moment. within the defended building, a single monitor screen shown, in brilliant blue letters, the phrase the beast's apparent master had said, "ehe'sh Nufulr Fuur"

Ceri let the dirt sift through her fingers, looking around to gage the damage. "Oy vai..." Cursing softly, she straightened up to walk into the area of wall that still stood. The smell of wet dirt, sweat, and blood mixing to bring a pleasant odor to her delicate nose. She smiled, she missed that smell sometimes. Noting the jeeps driving around, she carefully picked her way towards one that was idle, aiming for the soldier walking up to it. "Excuse me, but what happened?" Her scent was that of crushed leaves and wet soil.

the soldier seemed startled by this person of the woods, blinking several times, "oh...ah, we had a massive assault, its been all over the Civil safety announcements, havent you heard?" the soldier shook his head and continued on his way, looking over his shoulder occasionally

She looked puzzled for a second then it was gone. Smiling at him, she continued on to intercept Tezztor and Dave. "Good afternoon. I was wondering if I could help in some way?" Her thin dress fit her body nicely, accenting her curves and whispering softly in the breeze. Her brown hair hung in wisps to her back.

Tezztor sat in the jeep, adjusting the electronic clipboard to give written orders before they left. "Seems like a bad situation all over, glad you could make it out alive. We need every soldier we can get right..." he trailed off as he saw a civilian running torward the jeep. The guard outside the jeep and one in the passanger seat drew their weapons. "This is a military zone civilian, stay where you are." he ordered as he jumped out of the jeep. "There is a lockdown, no civilian is to leave their homes." The general couldn't help but wonder why and how a forester ended up in a military base.

Ceri stopped, frowning. "I am no threat. I came to offer my services but seeing as you obviously don't want them, I will leave. You can find me in the forest out here. Call the name Ceri at dawn and I will answer. Good bye." She turned and started walking away, a peaceful smile lighting her face.

Tezztor glared at her. "Stop her!" he yelled. He then sighed. "Did you not hear what I said, civilianss are to remain at home." He turned to a guard. "Put her in the truck" He looked around then jumped back in the jeep. He looked at her then back at Bowman. "Ssoldier I re assign you to accompany me for the time being. I hope are as good with a weapon as you are at evading the enemy."

Arke clutches the sub machinegun, his gave fixed on the seat in front of him. "I shoot to kill, sir. And in my defense, a bolt-action rifle is hardly appropriate for fighting a flood of enemies." He reached back to his replacement rifle, ejected the magazine, and made sure he had loaded it. 20 rounds, all good shells. He jams the mag back into the gun.

The frown on her face deepened as he uttered the commands. She turned lightning quick and shoved the closest guard away with a snarl. "And for those of us without homes?" She growled, her beautiful features twisted into a frightening mask of rage and sorrow. "I have no home to return to because of your inability to protect your citizens. Therefore, I have come to provide an extra pair of arms, assisting in making your forces stronger. You don't need my help, fine. But you will NOT treat me like some specimen to be thrown in a lab and studied. Got it, Lizard?' She spat vehemently, tossing her hair out of her face. She looked at Dave and a brief smile lit her features again. "I'll talk to you when ignorance isn't so unbearable."

The morning light shined unbearably bright in contrast to the destruction along the road to Uhuros, Military vehicles and Scientific tents littering the sides of the road. the Truck rumbled along loudly, catching every stone and pot hole along the dried out stretch of earth, the trees on either side seeming as if they were receding, suddenly, a call through the radio, "Sir....we....have....something.....in Uhuros, I think its one of the creatures...but.....Sir just hurry!"

"You're all the same, no respect whatsoever to anyone lower than yourselves in rank. I've got more power in a fingernail than you've got in your entire body, Reptile." She hissed under her breath, walking away at a brisk trot. She picked up the pine at Watchtower 4 and made her way back to the forest to think about what was going on.

The general sighed, clearly disappointed. "Do what you gotta do" he said as he orders the driver to make haste to Uhuros. He picks up the radio and gives a order, "If she returns to the base, shoot her" He gave the order with a chilling coolness, more aggrivated at her attitude then anything. Along the way military vehicles could be seen rushing off in this and that direction, soldiers patrolling and arguing with citizens and attack choppers surveying the towns.

In her haste, she soon forgot the reptile's reaction to her and focused on the task she'd been given before she deserted her family. "You've got one big mess to clean up, Ceriyus. Don't screw up this time." She muttered, leaning back against the weeping willow.

Uhuros, though still slightly humming with activity, was silent near a large Bio-Hazard tent, in which scientists in Bio-Chem suits were running in and out, shouting orders and thoughts at the same time, the tent was heavilly guarded, in anticipation of the General, who was just at the outskirts of the city.

flapped her once beautifull wings and ascended on a high tree over looking most of the forest, a few miles away she could hear a kind of choas happening somewhere near by.her eyes flickered around the forest desperate to see any thing

Hearing wings flap, she looks up, shielding her eyes. "Wonder what creature that was..."

Her Elven ears were pierced twice. She turned to look about then shrugged, continuing on her way. "Odd..."

she giggiled then threw open her wings and jumped over to another branch in the moonlight

She frowned at the haunting sound of a giggle. "Whoever's there, stop playing and show yourself." She called, looking around once more.

The jeep came to a halt in front of a large tent in the jmidst of a torn wasteland that used to be part of the city. The two guards in the jeep as well as other soldiers near it stood and saluted the general as he got out of the jeep and took survey of the situation from the areas CO. "What iss the situation here? I heard there was a specimen here I'd like to see it at once." The places was a ballet of happenings, a sandbag bunker being assembled in one area while scientists ran to and fro. He turned to bowman, "You can come or stay outside it is up to you"

He looks to the sandbag bunker. "I'd probably be more useful out here, sir." He starts toward the bunker, grabbing a box of ammunition and carrying it to a machinegun nest being set up in the bunker. A little manual labor to take his mind off things.

The General Was ushered into a containment suit, meant to keep any hazardous materials from leaking in, and shown to a larger observation room. Within the room, there stood a white robed figure, cuts, bruises and burn marks apparent across it's flesh. but this was no anthro.....this Creature lacked a muzzle, paws, fur, scales, wings, or any other animal-like quality, it's skin was slight brown, hair of jet black, its eyes glowed in an amber yellow as they darted across the room. This was a beast like no other.

Tezztor stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the robed figure. It was unlike anything he had ever seen. "What kind of foul trick iss this"" he said instinctively reaching for his gun but couldn't due to the suit. He went to yell for his guards but he stopped as it began to speak to him.

Patience wearing thin, she turned slowly, growling. "Show your face, COWARD!" She roared, slamming her fist into the tree. Blood oozed from her hand as a loud crack could be heard. She winced, muttering. "Broken...second time today..."

"you idiot,thats one way to damage yourself"she smiled and thrust open he wide wings alarmingly fadt and flew down to te floor lighlty stepping the floor, she knew that the moon was on her wngs cos she could feel the coolness on them she smiled and held out her hand "here let me help you with that"

Ceri turned around and frowned. "Why would you want to help me? I'm an elf." She whispered, confused.

"And? You people dislike mine. We've been with the dark arts for a long time. Why would you help me?" She repeated, frustrated. Ceri allowed her to mend her wrist but she didn't like the touch.

The Beast bared his teeth, they were like a horses only smaller, and the creature still did have sharper canine teeth, "Is that your first instinct, kill me, on second thought, I dont blame you, we did do wonderful damage to your cities" It put its hands behind its back, rearing back its head, and breathed in deeply, "Such a great smell, eh Tehur?" (Tehur = Tezztor in Human) "Yes I know your name, we've been keeping track of you abominations for some time, from the shadows, you dont honestly think your alone on this planet, but you act as if it were true, destroying land and poisoning this earth." Tezztor glared at the abomination before him, speaking down to him as if it thought less of him. "You speak as if you are ssuperior, but it was not us furs who wraught this mess, killing innocents. How can you justify what you say againsst me by killing." he said as he removed his Biomask. "What will it take for you to leave uss in peace?"

A grin played across the beast's face, "Your complete and total anhialation, and unfortunately, i wont be around to see it.....Goodbye, Filthy Hmara." The monster then began to laugh, foam forming at the corners of his mouth, suddenly he collapsed and began to convulse, his body curling into a ball, and within a few seconds, he was no more. A scientist rushed over and examined him, checking his pulse and eyes, "It was Poison....."

Tezztor ripped off his biosuit in fustration. "Thiss ig getting worse by the minute." he exclaimed while observing the scientist looking at the corpse. He had never seen anything like this in all his years as a general. First the attacking force and now this, with madmen it is hard to develop a keen military strategy. He walked out of the tent, breathing in the air despite the overwhelming stench of death and burning materials in the air.

The following days, more reports of minor outposts vanishing appeared, and more reports of the strange beasts being sighted.

Tezztor looked about the broken landscape, then at the bodied being covered and tagged. What could he do to stop this evil? He was not used to feeling despair. "I will have to be more careful," he thought to himself before ushering a command to those around him. "Listen up and lissten good. I want this place sealed up tight, protect this sspace because your very life and the lives of many more depend on it. I hereby decree that any ssoldier caught running I will kill myself. You are soldierss not cowards and I expect you to live and die in such a manner. If you have a problem tell me now and I'll end your pitiful existance quickly, the only way out of here is in one of the creature's stomachs or in a body bag." He was done playing games, these creatures were gonna learn a valuable lesson for their crimes.

Arke linked up with several crews of soldiers and engineers from there, fortifying positions and aiding with the cleanup. The chaos had given way to either anger, dread, or a sort of hollow melancholy, depending on who one talked to. Eventually he found himself as the designated marksman in a division composed of the remnants of the outpost teams, and was soon given a ghillie suit and put on a hill on the outskirts of the secured area, mostly watching over the patrols and supply convoys moving between the new outposts.

A shadowy figure followed Broken as she walked with the Fallen, a primitive Bolt action rifle strapped to his back. the figure stood at 6 and a half feet tall, his visible clothes being boots, stitched together jeans and a large cloak covering much of his body. he crept forward quietly, his bright green eyes glowing furiously.

The smell and quiet sound of crushed leaves drifted over her. "Hold it, someone's following us. Wait here." She murmured, turning around. The shadow of someone caught her eye and she began looking out of the corners of her eyes.

"Sister? Who the hell are you callin' sister? Who so you think you are, human?!" She spat, face twisting into a nightmarish image in anger. She snorted, smiling nastily. "Would you like to play a game, my fur less, elf wannabe friend?"

The Human's smile faded, his arms shifting in annoyance, "ffah, Elves.....a filthy batch of Mongrels." he stepped forward, tossing the bangs out of his eyes, "you are my sister, as are you the sister of every other human left on his hellish planet, make no mistake, tell me.....how's that scar on your back?" he tilted his head, smiled again, "And besides, I dont have time to play, if you wish to make this a competition of brawn, congrats, you have no contest, for I wont partake in it."

For hours soldiers continue to setup the defenses, a few tanks rumble into the camp reporting for duty. "I need at leasst one tank at every corner of the base" he said grabbing for the satillite phone punching in a number for the HQ where the mayor was at. "What is the situation over there? Tighten your defenses we will surely see these things again in a few hours, nightime is falling upon us."

An eerie quiet overtook the base, reminding veterans of the first major attack on Yerko. Slowly, the howls were apparent once again, only they had a strange primal fury to it that the more animal like creatures diddnt have.....it was coming from different points all across the base's outer perimeter, and it was pinpoint, tactical, trying to call out anyone foolish enough to venture out, This was a calculated assault.

The general looked about nervously and he could tell it was wearing at the men also. "Hold the lines, do not venture forward!" he ordered out, while drawing his weapon. He made a motion with his hand torward the tower and the bases alarm went off, soldiers came streaming out of the tents and vehicles cranked. He got on the radio "If it moves, kill it" he said firmly. All was dead quiet for a few minutes, then all of a sudden gunfire was heard from the southeast bunker. He shook his head, "God help us all"

The howls stopped....and then suddenly primitive class 4 (RPG Type) Rockets launched into the forward areas, some releasing a thick cloud of green smoke. Forms emerged out of the trees, their form the still unfamiliar human, wrapped head to toe in padding, vests and their faces masked by mouth covers and head rags, They rushed forward, firing short rifles as they drew grenades and threw them over the outlying walls, jumping nimbly as they used hooks to climb up the still standing defences, the first few assailants drew short sabres and attatched them to their rifles, slashing, stabbing and shooting their way through the forward troops, Colonial Tanks emerging from cover and blasting them from the face of the earth with Class 9 (Tactical Rocket type) weaponry and running and gunning down any who tried to rush. Then waves emerged, turning the trickle into a steady flow of the Humans.

Tezztor growled in annoyance "Use your clawss if you have to" giving example as he yelled, slashing one of the invaders across the throat as it charged him. These were strange beasts that faught with a certain calculated determination he wasn't used to seeing from non furs. He aimed his rifle, picking off several more before reloading. "They die like anything elsse, shoot to kill don't give any ground!" he yelled.
Hours went by and it was clear these beings had no intention of stopping. He got on the radio and called in his trademark artillery strikes. The battle wasn't going well for them but he was determined to give it his all. "Tighten the western line"

The humans shouted at eachother in their strange language, picking out different buildings and positions to strike. one paused and leaped onto one of the numerous tanks emerging, he blew the hatch with a type of exposive and crawled inside, screams and blood spewing from the depths of the metal beast. more of the Humans began to emerge, flowing into buildings. Their primitive weapons still stood against modern weaponry as they charged in a calculated manner, their lack of natural defences made up by their ingenuity.

He grabbed a grenade, cooking it before tossing it into a group of the opposing force. A good portion were in close combat with the front lines. He ran up to a few fighting, slashing and cutting his way through them. Suddenly a wave of force hit him from the side as one of the tanks blew, knocking him off his feet. He looked around, it was clearly a loosing battle. Though these invader's had more then a four to one death ratio in relation to his hardened troops, they just kept pouring in. He grabbed his radio. "We need evac immediately!" he shouted into the mic.

As the Colonial troops began to pull back, a Human climbed to the top of a building and shouted to all, "Uturos Hmaria Benesu, Akar Telos e'rra!" The troops all howled in response and stopped their attack, crouching into a pouncing motion and holding. A tall human walked into the compound, snapping his fingers, "My My, You Anthros have forgotten your primal roots, too bad, its always been a flare of my species." the Human chucked and stopped before the entangled bodies of a Dark Skinned Human and a Panther, the Human's skull blasted into two with the barrel propping him up through the remains of it, and the panther with a sabre hilted completely into his chest cavity, as well as the Human's hands in a death contortion around it's throat. he grinned and looked up, his black flowing hair concealing his mouth from view, "COWARDS, while we fight to the end you retreat to your cities of sin." his smile dissapeared and he turned, shouting, "Setharia." the soldiers all Howled once again, reloading and still holding position, watching the Anthros withdraw to a last stand position.

the human tilted his head and smiled grimly, "it has begun." He tugged Broken by the hand as he pulled a facemask over himself, daring through the woods to some unknown location. as he came to a stop. a vast army of Humans stood and idled among the trees, a few stray glances locking onto Her.

Her ears shivered. "What did you do, brother?" As she looked them all over, she recognized some of her old friends among the strangers.

Her brother gripped his rifle tightly, "I have done nothing, yet, but soon we shall strike a morale blow that will shake these filthy Hmaria to their cores."

"I agree they must be taught a lesson but there are a few who can be spared. I shall point them out later, nai?" She asked, using a word or two from their native tongue.

He watched as the weird creatures stopped their assault. He didn't know why but he wasn't about to give up his fight and he whispered into the mic "Arty on this position." A second later a voice asked worried "Sir?" to which he simply replied "Do it" He stood with his rifle aimed at the large creature. "Do not expect a surrender!" he yelled at the intruder not expecting him to understand. He fired a shot into the large ones leg to show that he meant business. He could only hope the artillery shells killed them all.

"Get into the bunker!" he yelled to his men. He turned and scrambled, making it inside just as the first shell hit, turning dark skies into a brilliant canvas of reds and yellows. "Hopefully it will kill them all"

Arke had fallen back into the ruined buildings of the city, his fire focused on tank commanders and infantry squads, always striking from the rear. By his count, he had around twenty confirmed kills, and a dozen or so that could have gone either way. Still the humans were drawing closer, and he doubted his sub-machinegun would be very effective against these things. Still, they hardly seemed like formidable hand-to-hand fighters. No claws, minescule fangs, and they seemed generally frail. Melee combat? He could beat them there, one on one.
