Title: discord award
Post by: lightstone on February 19, 2018, 05:00:43 AM
i just thought why this award didn't exist yet, with this award forum members can see on the forum who they might see in the official discord server and when some-one thinks of not joining the server because no-one will be there he can just see how many of us are on the server

The home page of the forums has a widget showing exactly who is online in real time, that should help people :)

but let's say some one is on the fence of joining the server and thinks that maybe if a friend is on the server he might join but the friend is sick so he/she has to ask him/her in a PM and wait till his/hers respond if the award existed he can just look if it is there and join then

We could do something like this. I feel like as an award it should be given to people who actually chat in the discord room though. There are a lot of people that sign in but don't say anything in general chat.

Thoughts on the qualifications, anyone?

Well, if I were to say an idea for an award based upon Discord, maybe there is some way to have a bot in the Discord server that tracks how many times users have posted and then by checking that in a staff discord channel that only staff can see, you can check the results from that bot with a command and then give the award when a user has reached their quota, so that way other users don't have to know your progress compared to others.

Funny. Except for the fact that I blocked MEE6. It got annoying.

Well, the problem with a bot doing it is that if it is given it won't be taken away so we might have to tinker with making our bot... and make it manual... the bot notifies an admin via PM, the admin reviews it, and then they decide. this can also help prevent too many people from being called "active". but I'm being a hypocrite as I'm barely able to be on Discord

and so spaming messages don't count
