Hiya!
This will be the first role play post that I have created, so I hope this doesn't die out too soon. Character sheets can be posted below, along with questions and whatnot.
Lore
The year is set in the late 2030's, when the government began experimenting on humans once more for military purposes. The previous attempts failed terribly. This time, however, they tried to mix the DNA of humans and animals to make the 'perfect' batch of soldiers. Did it work? Yes. They would be called triflepaws.
Anthropomorphic beings were ready for the front-lines, but they never made it. Many humans protested against the use of animals for the sake of their military, causing the government to shut down the whole program. The humanized animals were allowed by the government to live in regular human society, but at the expense of their reputation. They were thought of as beasts, and were constantly discriminated. In modern slang, they were referred to as 'furs'.
They had trouble finding jobs and good housing. There was a city, however, called The Shield-neck. It was in the northern part of the country. The South region of the area was where the most crime happened, usually between triflepaws. Because this area wasn't managed as better as the other regions were, triflepaws found it easy to find housing and jobs here. Poorly managed apartment buildings were what many triflepaws called home, despite the streets being littered with gangs.
Rules
1. You may only have one character, to keep the group small. About 8 applicants will be selected for the first chapter. NPC's may be controlled, within reason, but I may control some of the ones you interact with.
2. Be friendly, and do not godmod.
3. This post is strictly OOC only. All participants will be informed when the IC sheet is up.
Affiliations
Citizen- You live in The Shield-neck as a normal, law-abiding citizen. In the South or in a different region, you co-exist with the triflepaws. If you're a human, you live a much easier life. As a triflepaw, you face discrimination on a daily basis by humans, and should avoid joining or being near criminal activity...the government looks for any reason to lock you up and get rid of you.
Criminal- You live the life of a criminal. Crime is what you live for! You can either be involved in a gang, reside in prison, or look for trouble on a day to day basis, avoiding law enforcement. Some triflepaws in the South are involved in gangs, and usually look to bother humans that wander their way. Some reside in buildings that are poorly managed, sometimes reeking of drug labs. Usually gangs are filled with triflepaws and humans, but humans tend to be on lower ranks while triflepaws are on top.
The Law- You are the law. You patrol the streets looking to capture criminals that happen to come your way. As a human, the government has informed you that you will always have more control over triflepaws, no matter what rank you are. You are to keep them in check. As a triflepaw, you are treated lower than recruits, and are stuck with the lowest of tasks. This usually involves cleaning the toilets after lunch breaks. You have to work extra hard so you can have the privilege of patrol duty.

Overall short summary of character's background: Turned onto the streets after an accident with some Triflepaws. Grew up as a lone fox

Most likely the law. Being that the area where most Triflepaws are living, lots of crime happens. Later on in this RP, an incident will occur where the law enforcement will be needed the most.

Character Sheet
Name: Rioko
Age: 27
Species: trifflepaw Lizard
Physical description: It's hard to say exactly what kind of reptile Rioko is. More raptor than anything else with digitgrade legs and a bit of a slouch to her stance, she is a tall trifflepaw with enough weight to her frame that her yellow underbelly scales are starting to split. The rest of her hide is composed of soft red scales.
Traits: Fat, tall, markswoman.
Personality: gluttonous, lazy, short tempered.
Overall short summary of character's background: Rioko is a bit of an odd duck. She was genetically altered with jungle combat in mind. The aim was to make something as close to a Deinonychus as possible, what holiwood commonally gets confused as a velociraptor (something she takes as an annoyance). It took years of tweaking various animal DNA to make an animal fast, strong and then teach her how to use a sniper rifle. All in all Rioko was ready to become a lean, mean killing machine.
Then a day before her first deployment the war ended. Rioko was let go from the army with out ever getting to maul single person. She did not acclimate well to civilian life, not when her major job quality is biting people's heads off. Not wanting to turn to a life of crime Rioko joined law enforcement instead, thinking her skills as a soldier would find some use there. Several years later Rioko has gone on patrol only a hand full of times. The rest of her days are spent behind a desk, watching her waist and rump grow wider as she stews in a never ending supply of paperwork to file.
Weapons: None. Not since the ' incedent '.

Overall short summary of character's background: Turned onto the streets after an accident with some Triflepaws. As a child on the streets she dreamed of being in law enforcement like she used to play with her sister : Kai Sato. Eventually she was taken in for some intense patrols and paper work.

Species (Human or Triflepaw): Triflepaw Raccoon (Raccoonis Purpali)
Physical description: Royal purple in color, aside from two tear-drop shaped patches on his chest and lower abdomen. Average build, stands at 6' 2''
Traits: Cybernetics enhanced, Old Soul.
Personality: Ray believes himself an old timey detective, going as far as to even wear large trench coats. Happy most of the time, but gets serious when he needs.
Overall short summary of character's background: Ray was raised in a home stuck in the old world, around the 1940's. He was taught about old traditions, and holds those dearly. Ray joined his brother in a detective agency, where they work to this day.
Weapons (Optional. Law enforcement and criminals have these, within reason, but usually citizens do not): Snubbed-nosed .44 revolver, passed down from his father.

Species: Triflepaw (Wolf)
Physical Description: 6'5, 147 pounds with dark red fur all around with the exception of his chest and stomach, which are black. He also has two Spanish tattoos on either arm, reading "Voy a bailar," and "Voy a gozar." Victor usually wears a grey button up with rolled sleeves, matching grey cargo pants and black boots. He is also always wearing sunglasses and a black beret, but occasionally wears a plain black plate carrier if needed.
Traits: Sarcastic, observant, lightly acrobatic and decently quick.
Weapons: Victor rocks a .50AE Desert Eagle when cold (not expecting a fight), and a 12G Benelli Nova when hot (expecting a fight.)
Bio: Victor used to work for a private security firm before it closed down. Since he retained all his gear, and resents working for or associating with any police force, the canine began working for local gangs as muscle or a "Vacation Planner," for people his employers wanted to disappear. More often than not, he finds himself doing questionably legal things, and isn't afraid to bend a few rules to complete his job. Victor is also uniquely talented in unarmed combat, and finds himself instigating fights occasionally when he knows he could work out his dealings in a more civil manner. Being a Triflepaw, he used to being looked down upon or ignored altogether, which in turn makes his job easier when staying under the radar.

Name: Ivan Petrov
Age: 25
Species: Triflepaw (Wolf-dog)
Physical description: 6'0 with black fur and grey undertones. Bullet hole through his left ear and other miscellaneous scars on his body. Currently wearing a dark hoodie and jeans with black combat boots. All his clothes look worn from times on the streets.
Traits: Despite his looks, he is surprisingly gentle and tries to avoid confrontation. Also extremely loyal to those he loves and respects.
Personality: Calm and collected.
Overall short summary of character's background: Was in the military (special ops) for a few years before being discharged because of his wounded ear. He now wanders the streets trying to avoid gang confrontations and helping the lesser folk when he can.
Weapons: Nothing special at the moment besides a combat knife, but Ivan is skilled in cqc and has advanced knowledge of military weaponry.
