Title: Training Days
Post by: Ventus Fall on May 02, 2017, 09:53:02 PM

Training Days
Introductions and Start-Up

A large white shade passed the group of fresh new recruits, towering far above all.
"Well, well, well," it grunted, coming to a standstill in front of the group. "This is what I have to deal with."
Looking up at the huge white fuzzy shape, one could find it wasn't some vague, abstract shape which happened to be able to speak. It was a rather well-built polarbear, a fine specimen of its species.
"The name's Cold. Sergeant Cold for you." He took a pause, looking briefly at each one individually before continuing.
"You are in the AdMi, Advanced Military. This means you have either worked hard towards becoming a member here, your goal in life so to speak. Or you have been selected due to some exceptional quality you might have. Well... I don't care. We're a team, and I want to know if you're good enough for my team. If I think you fit the team, you fit the team. Otherwise you'll be transferred or cut out of the programme. Either way you're out."
Another large figure, yet somewhat less bulky and tall, appeared next to Cold. It was another ursine, a giant panda. The rank of corporal was shown on his shoulder patch. He stood straight-up next to his superior.
Sergeant Cold continued: "We have a mission soon. I want everyone to be fit and prepared. We have some heavy training days ahead of us before the mission takes place, so I want everyone to focus and put their best foot or paw forward. Understood?"

Before the briefing started, the division was placed at-ease to allow them to listen without stiffening up as most of them had already went through the basic-training and advanced-individual-training before this. Among the division of recruits into the AdMi program, there was a half-human/half-red-fox with a Specialist rank on her sleeve, her attention going to the polar bear-like figure, her ears going full-forward to indicate she was listening intently. When the panda arrived, she glanced to him and one of her ears went to his direction instinctively before going back to the one who introduced himself as Sergeant Cold initially to hear out the rest of the briefing. Once the briefing was done, she gave a "Understood, Sergeant!" with the rest of the group.

Shoon was standing and looking at him. He hated this type of interactions, He wanted something better, exciting. A debriefing about a terrorist threat, that would be cool. Never the less he also knew this was an inevitable part. He was thinking about food and how fun climbing a large tree he could see in the distance.
He nearly jumped when the soldier next to him yelled, he quickly joined her yelling "Understood!". He said it quickly so while he didnt start on time he would finish it on time as the rest of the group. After this he was more concentrated.

Angder was watching the polar bear intently, He could see the large number of scars covering the bear, clearly he had seen some form of action... or some particularly mean spirited Sergeant. Either way, probably had some experience, and was worth listening to. Once the briefing was done, Angder spoke up: "Understood, Sergeant" He was not too worried about the idea of training, he was strong enough and had enough agility that physical challenges shouldn't be a problem for him.  Still, he was not entirely at ease, a mission so soon seemed... odd... to him. The group was not even formed yet, did they need soldiers out there that badly?

He risked a glance round, taking in who his fellow recruits were. He wanted to know who he was going to end up working with before being pushed into intensive training.

Warren was a bit here and there with the briefing, not really knowing what to think. Firstly, he still wasn't sure why he was there. Sure there was another human and a half-human?, but Warren seemed to be the only stock standard human there. Dare to say, he felt very intimidated.

Warren looked around where he could while keeping up his stiff militaristic form in attention. He'd only really heard about the AdMi and what kind of work they'd been doing. He also hadn't really been in any deployments where the AdMi had active units in his area. This would just take a little getting used to.

The Sergeant was indeed quite intimidating, everyone else was quite intimidating. Warren wished he could make a joke about this and move on, but he'd have to try and remember the jokes for later. He was good at making jokes about his inferiority.
Warren set his mind to focus on the Sergeant's speech and think about the rest later. He also wondered who the Panda was beyond being an officer.
"Understood, Sergent" he tried to say in unison with everyone else. This would take just a little getting used to.

Fear and respect was all that went through Rayleonarde Blackburn's mind, as his commanding officer spoke, the raccoon's eyes never leaving the polar bear's face. Yet still, the raccoon stood ridged as a flagpole, his paw upon his forehead in a crisp salute. Besides science facilities, this was all the purple raccoon knew. He, like the others of his kind before him, had been specially bred for little more than cannon fodder. There was barely a beat between Cold's beck and Ray's call.
"Understood sir!" Barked the raccoon, his focus unwavering even as his will began to crack. Ray hadn't even gotten as far as to looking at his soon-to-be squadmates, but hoped that he could integrate with those not of his own species.

Cold looked over all the members of his new team once more. He couldn't help but feel a bit sorry for Pandadox, who would be leading them on the missions most of the time.
"Alright, good!"
The sergeant noticed one or two who had not entirely paid close attention. A human who seemed to dream off and did not mention 'sergeant' at the end, clearly giving off a stronger vibe to Cold about how small his attention span was.
Regardless, this was just day one. The polar bear had no intention to be rough with them from the start, but if they did not pick up their act, they would soon realise he was not to be messed with. They were not for nothing in the AdMi.

The sergeant nodded his head towards the panda standing besides him. "This here is my corporal. I'll leave him to explain the situation. Just like me he's brief on words and introduction. I'll say this once here and now. If you have any questions or issues, take it up with your corporal or with me."
After that he walked off. He needed some rest. He woke up very late at night from a nightmare and couldn't head back to sleep. This had been going on for several weeks and it was starting to take a toll on the large polar bear.
It must be the stress of him experiencing his first real mixed team as a Corporal. I sure hope he'll be alright. The thoughts of worry and stress were overtaking the sergeant, but he managed to keep it well-hidden from everyone else, including Pandadox.
Not too long before the new recruits were brought in, Pandadox was placed in a holding cell due to some further testing they wanted to perform, this kept Pandadox out of rotation for a couple of days. When he returned he was even more quiet than he usually was. Cold had no idea what happened in the time they had been separated. He was fearing something extremely bad happened.
Why do they keep doing this to him. They've never been this extensive with me or others. What's the issue? He just couldn't wrap his head around it.

The panda briefly looked at Cold when he was slumping off before looking back at the recruits.
With a somewhat gravelled voice, but not as heavy as Cold's, Pandadox started to speak: "We'll be doing a few training exercises to test if you're all up and running. Those who aren't will go through some rigorous training to make sure you are combat-ready for the upcoming mission. From what I see it you all should be, but the AdMi wants to be sure, so let's make sure they're satisfied. Today is meant for you to settle in, get to know your team, get your things organised and sorted out. This will be the last day in a while you can relax, so take advantage of that. Tomorrow morning we need to get up at five AM. 0500 hours. Be ready for training at 6 right at this exact same spot. If you're not there you need to do one-hundred push-ups. Not so much? Complaining adds another hundred. You have been warned."
Realising he talked a lot more in a short amount of time than he probably ever had in his life, he breathed in a lot of air and took a pause before continuing to speak.
"You're free to go now. Your sleeping quarters is left of you, keep going in a straight line and you'll spot it in no time. Breakfast and other meals during the day are just a few barracks further down. Rest well. You're going to need it."
Pandadox simply stood there, waiting until all recruits would head off. He now would also have time off. It was suggested by the higher-ups he would get more involved with his team, but he had no idea how. He left it as it was for now.

The half-human/half-vixen waited until they were given the dismissal before she looked about at the area more thoroughly. "Reminds me of being back in Basic again." she thought out-loud before she stepped away from the group, starting to head to the dining facility first as her stomach was growling. She got a good distance away, enough where she felt she was far enough away before she could start speaking her thoughts a little more clearly, starting off with a very accurate reproduction of Cold's voice at first, "'Short introductions...' I don't think so. Definitely reminds me of a usual safety briefing... which isn't very 'brief' at all."

As soon as Pandadox finished speaking Shoon just turned left and began walking off, mostly just thinking to himself.
When he got to the barracks he climbed the building and stared at the sky, he was going to try and take this day easy.

Angder blinked as the group dispersed. He had gotten a good look at most of the group. The Raccoon looked completely terrified, and one of the humans seemed a bit inattentive, Almost certainly going to have some trouble with those two, but the rest seemed to be holding steady so far. Angder turned to leave, heading towards the sleeping quarters, "So, I guess your who I am going to be working with then." He said, as much to himself as to anyone with him "So, anyone want to introduce yourselves? I'm Angder." He looked back after saying this, seriously wondering if anyone was actually behind him or if he was talking to himself, part of him hoped he was actually alone. He felt incredably awkward trying to start a conversation like that.

When they were dismissed, Warren suddenly felt a bout of disorientation. He'd just been told where everything was, but still, this was all very new to him. He liked the idea of food, but establishing HQ seemed the better option for now.
With that thought in mind, Warren took off for the barracks.
He did make an effort to stop by everyone and introduce himself to the others as he walked past him. He wasn't going to be a TOTAL stranger.
He set off and bumped into a figure referring to themselves as Angder.
"Ahh, pleasure to meet you!"
He stuck out his hand, but didn't really know what to expect... a paw... can you shake that? He offered a hand/paw shake all the same.
"I'm Warren."

Ray relaxed as his commanding officers left, breathing a heavy sigh of relief. He glanced around at his comrades, getting his first real look at them. Ray, however, said nothing and instead walked to the barracks to claim his bed. He figured if the others found him worthwhile, they'd talk to him.

Besides, my kind are little more than bullet-shields...

Raysighed heavily to himself after his sobering thought, before trying to ascertain what bunk was his. He wondered when they would get their equipment, or if the training was going to be anything like the stuff he'd been through as a kid.

After waiting for a little while to see where every member went to, Pandadox felt more at ease to head off himself. His goal was the place which was serving food.
Not that he was feeling particularly hungry, but from experience he knew this might be a rare occassion to get a proper meal with being in a rather "care-free" environment.
Vegetable soup would be nice.
On his way, coming across the enchanced-human, the half-human/half-vixen, he could see her talking to herself, but couldn't really hear what she was saying. Nor was he particularly interested at the time either. All he could think of was getting food.
Vegetable soup would be very nice.

Coming somewhat closer to the enhanced human, due to him slightly picking up speed and having a rather large pacing, he decided to try to form a conversation, something his superiors advised him to do. Something he wasn't particularly good at.
"Do you like vegetable soup?"
He really had no idea how to start a conversation or how this was going to turn out.

Ruby froze for a moment when she was spoken to, her ears quickly folding and her tail frizzed for a moment out of reaction. When she was asked about the vegetable soup, she had a moment of hesitation and thought, her ears going back upright and her tail straightening out to normal as she looked to him. "Not as much as I used to, Corporal." she started off, trying to play-off the feeling and the expression-telling portions from her ears and tail a bit. "Not since the change. I've had a stronger craving for meat-type meals. Guess my taste-buds have changed a bit." she added with a shrug while she continued to the mess-hall.

Angder looked slightly taken aback by the single human behind him, of all the recruits, this one seemed the only one to be completely normal.  A completely basic generic human. Angder looked warily at the outstretched hand, then cautiously extended a paw in response, resulting in a slightly awkward handshake. Afterwards Angder turned back to the corridor ahead intending to talk as he walked. "Warren... so..." Angder trailed off suddenly realizing he had almost nothing to really talk about. He pauses for a couple of seconds trying to think of something to say, before confidently speaking up again. "So, you looking forward to seeing some action?" Angder spoke with a degree of confidence, but it felt false, it was clear Angder's social skills left much to be desired.
"If I heard right, the bosses just said we would only be training for a few weeks, so hopefully we won't have too long to wait." Angder continued, feeling pleased with himself that he had found something to talk about.

Warren realised that he may be a bit out of his depth here. He'd only ever spoken with other humans.
He resisted the urge to reach out and stroke Angder lovingly as he would his childhood pet dog. Simply instead withdrawing his hand from the shake after it was finished and he felt it had been a proper one.
Before he got caught away with thinking about how un-natural the hand/paw/whatever shake was to Warren, he spent a second to think about how to respond.
"Ahh!... yes... I'm not sure how well I'm going to hold up to you guys. I bet you guys would tear me to shreds have the natural advantage"

Warren didn't really know how to go about this, but he tried to maintain a degree of confidence. He'd never considered what it would mean or feel like to be enhanced like that. He could be insensitive all day with his human squadmates, but not sure what the limits were here. Meeting new people is hard!
"Heh!" he exclaimed to set himself back on track, "Sounds like a challenge. Going to see what we're really made of"
Warren casually fist bumped Angder's arm and allowed himself for his face to light up with a bit of playful joy as he did so.

"So which way are you going?"

Ray shrugged and sighed quietly.
"Guess I'll take whatever's open."
He then turned, starting towards the mess hall as he hadn't eaten in a few hours. As he went, he had overheard the others talking.
'I hope we can all work together.'
Ray, as he approached the mess-hall, wondered if they would serve the weird food paste he grew up on. The raccoon closed his eyes as he recalled the center he was raised in with his eleven brothers and sisters. Ray remembered his mother had sung a quiet song, as her children were taken to the training center. He didn't get upset by this, though. Attachment was beaten out of him, as it was his siblings. Ray did wonder what happened to his siblings, but quickly found he wasn't too perturbed by the thought.

Pandadox thought about what the half-human vixen said and had a small chuckle. He immediately stopped when he noticed. It was unexpected to him he started to chuckle. He felt something was wrong, as he hadn't felt this happy ever since he was a child.
He quickly recovered and said: "I suppose that would make sense. They do change your DNA, afterall."
He still pondered about the vegetable soup. He nodded and took a glance at the raccoon who was also heading for the mess hall.
Once inside the mess, Pandadox decided to take the lead in getting food, as to encourage the new recruits to not feel out of place. Hoping they would follow his example, he sat by an empty table, enough to host all of the recruits of his and sergeant Cold's group.

While everyone was chatting, eating or both, Cold woke up from his nap after about an hour. It was enough to feel rested enough to finish the day off. Luckily he also didn't suffer from any nightmares or worries during his rest, so he felt pretty energetic.
A knock on his door... He shuffled over to open.
"Yes?" He said while he was rubbing his eyes open.
"Hello, sir." A young man who was usually put on duty to deliver personal messages between higher-ranking officers stood in front of Sergeant Cold.
"Ah, it's you again. At ease. What's up, boy?"
The young man produced a light cough after assuming a more rested-position. "Sir, we have a late-comer. Another new recruit. Take a look at their papers here."
Cold was handed a document.
He took a quick look through it and nodded at the messenger.
"I see. I'll go meet this young woman. Thank you for informing me."
"Goodday, sir." And he sped off after that, most likely to deliver more messages.

The sergeant took a quick look in the bathroom mirror of his confinement to make sure he still looked presentable and headed off.
After a brief walk he spotted a female human. For a human, Cold thought she looked rather attractive.
"Hello, Ash. I am sergeant Cold. Welcome to the Advanced Military, or AdMi. You missed the briefing, but do you need help settling in or have any questions?"

Ash stood to attention and gave a swift salute before saying, "Sorry for being late sir, was caught up in a previous mission. I was informed of the basics on the journey over, so I have no questions." As she spoke she had a dead stare at the wall opposite, seemingly unaware, or uncaring, of her superior's stare. She gave a quiet sigh, wishing they could get on with it.

Ruby went off in the direction of the carnivore-friendly meals, it being separated out from the herbivore-friendly meals to prevent any cross-contamination of foods. It didn't take her long to get some cubed beef and chicken before finding herself a seat in the section that Pandadox was sitting in. "Most of the others went to go crash." she mentions as she starts eating.

"Advantage?" Angder chuckles slightly. "I could be in power armor with... a huge plasma...Ion...Rail...~ With a really big Gun. Wouldn't mean a damn if my opponent has a pistol he knows how to use, and I am out of practice. Trust me. Learn to shoot well, and you will quickly find our advantages vanish over any decent range." Angder grins, looking straight at Warren. "Now at close range... Once we can start tearing at you. That's a different matter."

Angder was slightly suprised to feel the human nudge his arm, it actually catches him slightly off gaurd, and his hair stands up slightly. A moment later he has relaxed again. "...Well, I have got free time. May as well explore the base." Angder states. "I want to know where things are, and where to go. So there is no messing about in future, and also to keep the commanders happy." Angder pauses, and stops moving for a moment, looking ahead at the sleeping quarters. "That's AFTER I get some rest of course."

"Close range? I'm sure there's a gun for that" Warren said, breaking into a chuckle.
"I'm sure we'll have the chance to test our sharpshooting together".

He looked around realising he was still disorientated,if not more so, and decided that he still didn't really know where everything was.
"Talking about free time and exploring, I think I'm going to wander around a bit" Warren rolled a 1 on perception.
"If you hear any screaming, I've probably accidentally walked into Cold's quarters."
"See you around"

Warren put his hands in his pockets and walked in no particular direction. He at least found the showers before anyone else. It would just be a matter of remembering where they were. Not that he had a bad memory, just he thought everything around him looked the same.

Ray grabbed a piece of bread from the mess, along with a small bottle of water. He ate the bread quickly, and finished the water even before he passed the first trash can. The raccoon sighed, and headed towards the barracks.
I wonder if the others have found their bunks yet...
As he reached the barracks, Ray picked the bunk closest to the wall, undressed and folded his clothes neatly on what he assumed was his footlocker, and crawled into bed, facing the wall. He wasn't tired, but Ray figured he'd claim a bed and hope the others wouldn't mind.
Though, Ray thought to himself. If they want the bed, I don't mind sleeping on the floor...

Shoon eventually climbed down from the roof and went to the mess hall.
After reaching the mess hall he made a b-line for the food grabbing some beaf and salad before going to a distant corner table and eating quickly and quietly.

After finishing the food he left for the barracks, but after a while of walking he relaised he doesnt know where the barracks are, so he turned to walk back and look for a sign.

"I understand and have been informed. No need to worry about it, Private." Cold produced a minor cough.
"Allright, well, the barracks are left of you. If you still need food you just need to walk a bit further. Others should be finishing up their meals now, maybe you can still catch them. As for your other commanding officer, his name is Corporal Pandadox. Oh right... if you go now, you might still catch him at the mess hall."
The sergeant saluted the new recruit. It wouldn't surprise him if she would speed off, considering how uninterested she seemed to be. That was allright, though. As long as she would fit well in the team and did a good job, Larry Cold would have no issues with this new recruit.
He himself decided it was best if he just took a short meal in his own room, read up again on the documentation he had received on each recruit, and then head to bed.

Pandadox looked up. "I figured as much."
He was nearly done with his meal. No vegetable soup, but still delicious.
It's been so long since they made vegetable soup...
While he was wondering about when he might be able to get vegetable soup, he finished his meal. The rice and salad did him good. Maybe this would be his new favourite meal.
He stood up. "I think it's a good idea I crash myself as well. Afterall, I'm most likely the one to wake you guys up. Not to be rude, I'll head off now."
He went off to his own sleeping quarters, which was right next to Cold's sleeping quarters.

Ash saluted her sergeant and headed off in the direction of the barracks. Seeing other members of the team leaving the mess hall, she decided it would be best to follow suit rather than get food. She didn't care much for eating, found the task repetitive and annoying and had trained herself to get by on very little.
As she walked towards the other members, she saw another human looking around, supposedly lost. Might as well go up and introduce myself, at least he appears to be another human here, she thought as she walked up to him.
"You alright there ? You seem a bit lost," she asked, looking around herself for the dorm building. "I'm Ash by the way, what be your name ?" she asked in a less than welcoming tone.

Ruby gave a nod and finished off her own meal not long after Pandadox left, then she decides to head out to go back to the barracks. Along the way, she sees the normal human from the briefing (Warren) wandering about not far from the dining-facility and another human she didn't recognize with him. "Hey, if you're looking for something to eat, it's back there." she spoke as she did a thumb-point to the building behind herself. "That also means the barracks are just right-across from it." she adds as she points to an adjacent building. "The name's Habeas. We'll probably talk more when we get going with the rest of the team." the half-vixen Specialist added as she started walking towards the barracks to turn in for the night.

"AHH!"
Warren got a fright because he thought he was alone, lost, etc, and the sight of Ash with the lack of a welcoming tone.
He'd also seen so many enhanced over the past weeks, interaction with another human seemed more alien than he thought it would be. His neck was legitimately starting to hurt from looking up to make eye contact...

"Oh don't mind me, I'm just looking for the barracks..."
Who was this person who wasn't there at the original briefing. Someone important?
"That's not my name though... 'Looking for the barracks' is what I'm doing, not my name, which is Warren ma'am"

Warren was about to salute, then he noticed the lack of
1) Officer Uniform
2) Officer Rank
He felt silly.

"I seem to have gotten a bit lost. Turns out Cold is a snorer though."
He tried to be goofy, to cover up his mess, but he felt like it was even going over his own head.
"Any clue where the barracks are?"

Next thing he knew, a more familiar face turned up and introduced themselves. Honestly, this was the most female attention that Warren had gotten in years...
"Um... I'm Warren... thanks..."

It wasn't down to infatuation that he was talking like a goof, more that his emotions have been constantly thrown all over the place from relief, awe, shock, confusion and others. He was starting to think that this was all a dream...
Warren looked at the two others by him.
"I'm going to sleep"

And with that he trudged off in the direction of the barracks.

Next day, 4AM.

Cold. The morning was very, very cold. Didn't bother the sergeant, however.
Standing in front of the mirror, checking his teeth, he sighed.
"It's the start that's always the hardest."
Continuing to mumble to himself for the next five minutes, he finishes preparing himself and steps outside.
Breathing in the fresh morning air, he heads towards the sleeeping barracks.
On his way there, he comes across his corporeal.
"Goodmorning, Pandadox."

The panda sniffled, scratching his nose.
"Goodmorning, sergeant."

"You ready for the new recruits?" Cold asked, trying to measure up how ready he really was.
"Yes." Pandadox replied, giving a slight nod.
"Good."
And with that, they both walked the last few minutes in silence towards the barracks.

Once there, they opened the door and stood in the door opening while sergeant Cold shouted: "Goodmorning, greenies! Time to get up and ready. We'll be waiting for you at the training course. Get ready and make sure you have enough to eat, but hurry. You only have an hour."
With that they both headed off.

The approach of the two bears getting close to the door made Ruby jolt awake, it was probably larger fox-like ears that picked up the sound of them, as soon as they said their first word, she was up and out of bed, quickly getting dressed in-uniform as if remembering her days in Basic again. "So what will be the main lessons for today? Ruby asked to them after she finished putting on the uniform-jacket, reaching over to grab her modified hat for her fox-ears.

As they entered the room Shoon sat up and took a moment for his mind to catch up with him. He stood up and stretched before he started getting dressed. Although A good chunk of him was mechanical we couldn't but stretch, even more, force of habit. 'I wonder whats for breakfast..' Shoon thought as he finished getting ready.

Angder groans, and slowly gets up, it took him some time to wake up fully. But once he was fully awake and dressed he staggered towards the mess-hall, he wanted to eat before training.

Ray popped up from his bed as his commander shouted, and quickly got around. He gave Cold a salute, and headed for the canteen. A light meal later, the raccoon was prepared to do anything the sergeant could order.

Ash begrudgingly rolled out of bed when her superior called. Looking around, she saw the other recruits getting up, and did the same. She pulled her hair back into a low, neat ponytail before getting up to walk to the mess hall. The cold air was refreshing on Ash as she walked over to the building

Warren had the fright of his life. Something about a giant Polar bear dude waking you up that wakes you up that extra mile.
Regardless, he jumped out of bed, threw on his clothing, and stood in attention until he felt no one was looking any more.
Adrenaline had hit him hard and once no one was looking, he sprinted to the canteen and jumped into a chair, hoping that he seemed like he was ahead of schedule and in front of everyone in the line for food. Warren hated being late, but he usually was, so he would do his best to make it look like he wasn't late.
Seemed that no one else was here yet, so he got up and caught his breath before heading into the food line.

Vortex queues up to the food line. He was wearing a huge robe with a hoodie on top. Vortex wasn’t present in the “welcoming hell” Cold and Pandadox had set up for the other recruits. He had a good reason though. His body needed healing from his recent transformation to a wolf.

"Well, new identity, new body, new people and thanks god new start…" ~He thought

He gets what’s available on the menu and sits in the corner of the room. He looks down at his new acquainted body.

"This new body seems really cool, I am still getting used to it though especially the new additions like my tail which I still can’t get used to.” He touches with his paw his right eye. “The only thing that still remains is this damned scar. I guess it serves a reminder of why I am here."

He takes a good look around as he starts eating his meal.

I don’t care for none of this military bullshit. Am I right?

He turns his head as if he was talking to someone and waits.

"I really should break the habit talking to you. I know you used to be my friend but now you are a thing of the past… Although, sometimes I feel you are the only one who understands me."

He shooks his head trying to recollect his thoughts. He finishes his meal and heads to the training site.

They had to shift the schedule a whole hour earlier than planned for a reason the 'bosses in charge' wouldn't inform the Sergeant or anyone else for that matter.
"I'm sorry for the earlier morning call."
"It's fine, sir." Pandadox really couldn't care too much about the time, the fact that he had to get up an hour earlier didn't really upset him in any way. It's just one more of those things the guys at the top were planning without communicating to their subordinates. He was used to this.

The two reached the training grounds.
"We'll start at 5AM. We told the recruits they only have an hour to get ready, they should check the time themselves. Don't worry."
"Understood, sir." Once again, Pandadox didn't care much. He was not worried at all. He began to suspect the Sergeant was more worried and anxious than he himself was. Perhaps the polar bear was concerned for him. That was fine and all, but it would help him a lot more if the Sergeant would stay as the Sergeant right this moment.

The half-human/half-vixen just shrugged when she didn't get an answer pertaining to the training thoughts, so she made her way to the mess-hall and got her food to eat it quickly much like the others did, then she made her way to the training station with some time to relax. She found herself a spot to sit down, letting her relax and closing her eyes to let her sense of hearing take over. For the brief time she had, her large ears were pivoting to take in the sounds around herself and to give her a mental "image" of what was going on. When she felt it was time, Ruby opens her eyes and looks about to try to see if the instructor was at the site yet.

As Shoon was venturing closer to the food hall he was starting to dread what will be at training 'I guess I might be over thinking' he thought to himself as he reached his destnation and began to pick up his meal.
After siting down and eating he made haste to the training grounds as he would rather be early then late.

After arriving at the training station he took a couple moments to relax before starting his HUD proper, giving him infromation from all around staright to his vision and thought.

Once Angder was fully awake, heading to training was not in any way an issue for him, training for him was usually pretty enjoyable. A chance to test his skills, a chance to impress some people. This would likely be fun, and hopefully fairly easy.

Angder arrived at his training station at almost exactly 5AM. He wanted to see how close he could cut it in future, and this first day was the best time to test the waters.

Ray approached the others on the training course, arriving just after Angder, glancing at his comrades before studying the course from his position. He stood at relative ease, ready to snap to attention when his commanding officers appeared. Ray had fleeting thoughts of his family, but didn't know their names, as his kind weren't named until passing evaluation.

Ash half-walked half-ran over to where the rest of the recruits stood. She knew being late would send everything but the right messages to her superiors. Once there she took a moment to look around at her other companions; at the anthros and the humans alike. It wasn't often she worked so closely with them, but the change of companions was greatly welcomed. The training site around them seemed to sparkle in the early morning cold weather. Ash smiled; this temperature suited her well

Warren made his way to the training grounds asap. He was looking forward to seeing how he would compare to the enhanced.
He just hoped that there wouldn't be long range sharp shooting. Not that he was particularly bad at it, but he'd never liked how it felt like his shoulder was turned to dust after a day with the anti-material rifles. Then again, this could be high-tech stuff with negligible recoil, but that would have to we seen.

Vortex never really liked training so this wasn’t something he was looking forwards too. But then again what was the worst that can happen? ~He thought

I believe this is going to be easy though. After all, I’ve been going through this is nothing! Just look at them all of those people. Just weaklings. Welp same goes for me too though.

His thoughts pause for a second. He turns his head and faces the sky.

We are all just dust flying through the wind. Unlike dust though, we are in control of our actions, or... are we? Ugh, well I am working myself over nothing again.

Vortex lies down. He puts his hands on the back of his head like a pillow and just stares into the vastness of the sky. As the sun starts appearing in the distance little by little he raises his paw trying to grab it. ~He sighs as he closes his eyes.

I really can’t afford to sleep now. ~He thought. I’ll make sure not to lose consciousness but I really need to relax a bit before this.

As the time was ticking by, the Sergeant looked at his water-proof watch on his right wrist. He noticed some came early, others on time, and then there were some who were late.
Regardless, it was Pandadox's time to shine as a commander. It wasn't the polar bear's job today to punish subordinates for coming to late, unless things would get out of hand, of course.
No, this time it was a test for his black-and-white subordinate to prove himself fit to lead.

That, however, didn't mean he couldn't give some help here and there. He whispered: "Don't forget to undertake the appropriate action when someone is late."
The panda simply nodded, nearly unnoticeable, as in response to his superior.

At 5AM sharp, Pandadox ordered for everyone to line up and pay attention.
He felt not a lot had to be said, other than: "This course you see? Complete it."
He felt it spoke for itself.

The Sergeant, however, felt a little bit more needed to be added and spoke up: "Today might seem like a rather basic training, but we need to see you're at minimum capacity that is expected of you guys. Complete the course as fast as you can. It's fair play today, so no trying to bring each other down to get to the finish first. You will get penalised if you do. The one who comes in first can get an hour of extra sleep. The one who comes in last will need to do clean-up duty tonight. So get going!"

Everyone who was there on time could immediately start, but anyone who came in any later than 5AM, Pandadox spoke to separately: "Do 50 push-ups before starting."
