Title: The Fall of Savior Station
Post by: Lord Isscarus on February 13, 2017, 06:14:17 AM
You are on a 11 member emergency response team shuttle going towards Savior Station, a civilized space station that is as big as Canada, hosts about 800-900 million people, and is in the rings of Saturn.

The space station has sent out a distress call for help, they said they were being attacked and overrun by an unknown hostile life source.

The year is 2647

Rules: you can be part of three different teams, the ones aboard the emergency response unit, the civilians or military personnel on the space station, or the traitors who are helping the aliens take over.

Everyone must describe thier character at the beginning for good understanding of who they really are.

Aboard the emergency response team are 2 medics, a computer specialist, an engineer, a pilot, a military commander, and several military personnel.

I will be participating in this roleplay.

Name: Karlo Mannaway
Species: Panda
Coloring:Orange and white, with orange zig zag or wavy stripe patterns across the torso and shoulders his palms are also orange, so are his thighs, ears, and feet, everything else is white.
Eye color:sunset(red with orange/yellow coloring behind it)
Height: 7'1
Weight: 330 lbs
Build:very stocky and bulky, has long, thick limbs with extremely large hands and feet, and very broad shoulders, giving him a large, stocky, and intimidating frame.
Occupation: military/security personnel aboard an emergency response unit
Age: 27

Karlo was sitting in a seat behind the other members of the emergency response unit, the seat was too small due to his large size, but he could deal with it.
He knew exactly what his mission was:to board Savior Station and help with the alien infestation.

Karlo was part of a military program called project GAURDIAN, it took place in Pluto, it was extremely hard to reach even with the years super advanced technology, but they had to make it secret, because they didn't want enemy governments to spy and take advantage of the program.

The program was building the very first GAURDIAN suit, a large, heavy suit with multiple abilities used for combat, defense, and for emergency situations. It was very heavy, so only big and very strong people could use it.

It was extremely advanced, it had shoulder mounted rockets, a plasma cannon on the forearm, an auto targeting and shooting minigun on the shoulder (like war machine from iron Man) it could create force feilds for defense and protection, it was extremely durable, it could survive rpg shots and grenades with little to no damage, it was also fireproof, waterproof, and completely bulletproof, and has its own air supply and can be used in space.

It also enhanced strength and reflexes, it could also scan for vitals, such as health information or for diseases, mental illnesses or physical wounds or injuries.

The best thing about it, was it had its own combat system, when engaged, the user would get an increased amount of adrenaline rushing through the body, giving the user even more enhanced strength and reflexes, it also covered the whole body with heavy armor plates, almost completely protecting it from damage.

It had its weaknesses though, it was vulnerable to EMPs, and was slow due to its heavy weight, however besides that it was the militaries most powerful exosuit, and it was exclusive for very strong people like Karlo.

Karlo was very strong, so strong that he could be considered superhuman, he was able to flip cars with little effort, is able to throw people across rooms with one hand, can dent metal and cars with mere punches and kicks, but his most impressive feat of strength was when he cut down a redwood tree with just a few swings, and literally dragged the whole tree with him with his bare hands for half a mile.

He slowly had insane durability, punches from even bodybuilders barely fazed him, bats, brass knuckles, and melee weapons in general are mostly ineffective against him, and falling on concrete only left mere bruises.

However even though he was considered superhuman, he hated it, he was bullied in school for being very small and weak, but he had a growth spurt in high school, which made him over 7 feet tall, nobody ever messed with him ever again.

However everyone saw him as a ruthless monster, his height and size made everyone terrified of him, and his strength even more, nobody hired him for anything because they didn't want to be hospitalized by him.

Karlo also has a very bad temper, he gets angry easily and breaks and throws things when provoked, leading to more people being terrified of him, however he is able to control it somewhat.

He also has very big hands, making it difficult to perform daily tasks and abilities others could do, making almost every job impossible for him, so he became a lumberjack.

It went well for him, he met a girl named Jessica, who didn't care if be was a giant, and made decent momey and earned respect from others for his hard work, but when he went to Hawk Station (there are several other space stations), he wanted to be a security officer and help protect his nation. However his girlfriend, Jessica, wanted to stay on earth, and since his station was so far away in Neptune, he was rarely able to contact her and was all alone in his life ever since he visited Hawk Station.

Karlo eventually participated in a emergency response unit, however his commanding officer sent him wearing a GAURDIAN suit, as it was a prototype and they wanted it to test it in emergency situations. The suit was at least a couple inches taller than Karlo, it was a dark black, however the shoulders, chest, and forelegs were a rusty, maroon red, and the shoulder plates and chest plates had a large, white sheild symbol, depicting its purpose.

The suit was obviously covered in heavy titanium.armkr plates for maximum protection, the helmet had a single , V shaped visor that glowed white when not in combat mode, but glowed red if it was.

Despite his uncomfortable seat for him, he was alert and serious about his mission, he looked at the crew members, they look like ants compared to him, his advanced and intimidating suit gave him a very threatening appearance.

He looked ahead and saw Savior Station, it was beautiful, he saw thousands of cities clumped together into one large, country sized civilization, it had no lights on at all, indicating something definitely happened, Karlo looked at their commander, and straightened his posture, trying to look awake and respectful.

"This is it, I could die today, but if I am, I'm gonna die a hero."  Karlo thought in his head. He was scared that today just might very be his last.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: MELANTHIOS
Species: [REDACTED]
Physical Appearance: [REDACTED]
Occupation: [REDACTED]
Age: [REDACTED]
Status: Trapped on board the alien-infested Savior Station

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

His boss was dead. A dead tiger - a programmer - with a frightened expression of regret permanently etched on his cold face. Blood splattered all over the room... but not all of it was his. An alien lay limp and lifeless in the opposite corner of the room. The control panel was in ruins. A handheld PDA sat in his boss' lap. It was Melanthios' only chance of reaching out for help. Every minute or two, when he heard a sound in the background, Melanthios would blurt out a call for help over the PDA speaker. He only hoped that when someone passed by to respond to his distress, it wouldn't be an alien....

Until someone found the PDA, all of his hopes were virtually in the lap of the dead programmer. And all he could do was wait.

(glad you could make it Blue!)

Karlo looked outside of the front window of the shuttle, he saw multiple other emergency response units going towards the station along with his.
He wasn't surprised, he knew that Savior Station was important, it was the biggest of all the stations in the solar system, the other stations were very dependent on it (hence its name) it was used for mining, food processing and creation, military recruiting, and was also a safe haven for anyone on board, however in a way it was also dependant on the other stations. Hawk station was used for experimentation and technology. The other stations had their own purpose.

The commander and pilot were talking to the people who sent the distress call on board.

"Hello, this is an emergency response unit coming towards your location, we are from Hawk Station and have received your distress call, come in Savior Station."

Karlo waited patiently as he watched the pilot communicate with the commander behind him, informing him on what to do.

He saw as they were getting closer to the station each minute.

His commander said they would be there in half an hour, however it was taking longer than expected, they didn't think they would be able to communicate due to the overrun of the station.

Karlo also had a plasma minigun with him, he was holding it in his lap, he needed to sit away from.the other mbers so he would have enough room since he was 7 feet tall.

"Could've made the seat bigger" Karlo mumbled quietly to himself, he didn't want the commander to hear but felt like he should've said it out loud.

He looked at the other members of the ship, Karlo could tell they were getting anxious, as each of them were shaking and some even mumbled about how they didn't want this to happen.

"You want me do anything?" Karlo said to his commander in an extremely deep and throaty voice, one that fit his large size and strength.

He wanted to be of help to kill the time while they were flying there, Karlo patiently waited for a response.

(Someone will have to play the commander, as I don't want to control anyone in this roleplay)

Name: Rudy Goldman
Species: Maned Wolf
Appearance: Rudy's physical build is a very tall and lean one- he possesses almost no muscle, and is obviously not very strong. He is more into running than weight lifting, so his legs are the strongest part of his body. His features are very angular, with deep-cut cheek bones and narrow dark hazel eyes. The main colouring across him is a light ginger, with white dashed under his chin and his torso, and also black arms, legs and hair. His hair is a messy side-swept fringe, which progressivly gets shorter down the back of his neck
Age: 32
Occupation: Medic in the emergency response unit

Rudy had kept silent most of the time. He wasn't one for really talking, unless it was a emergency, or was with another medic, discussing things such as wound dressings or stories of who they treated long before. Most people appreciated his quietness. The general air around him wasn't that a talker; some people were even intimidated by him sometimes, especially the younger medics. This humoured him- whenever he looked at himself in the mirror, he thought of himself as rather timid looking. Maybe it was his eyes that scared them. People with narrow eyes always looked sneaky.

Now, he sat patiently by a window watching the massive space station loom closer and closer into view. Many thoughts ran through his head at this moment in time. He still marveled at how a station the size of Canada had been constructed and sent into orbit around Saturn. He guessed that around 100 years ago this sort of feat would've seemed impossible. But then again, everything was possible now. Never had anyone imagined that aliens of all things would attack the station before him. This lead onto another train of thought of how he had got himself caught up in this mess.

Back on Earth he had been part of an ambulance crew. He went out every day to tend to old women whose blood pressures were just a little bit too high, help some kid with an asthma attack, etc.
The usual.
Then the oppertunity to become a medic in bloody outer space cropped up. His step-brother had told him about it. His wife told him not to go. But he went anyway. The pay was great (it was all back on Earth though for his family to use- he had no reason to have it here) and ever since he was a kid, it was an ambition of his to be an astronaut.

But now he was here, and a sense of impending doom filled up the atmosphere. These aliens were obviously dangerous, and it was almost certain that someone amongst them would die. He hoped that it wouldn't be him. He didn't honestly care about his own life, but he already felt guilty about leaving his pregnant wife behind. She was already unstable, and she would probably go ahead and kill herself if she found out that he was dead. And seeing as he loved her to bits, despite not seeing her in so long, he already couldn't bare to think about that.

Karlo looked at one of the medics, he was pretty tall ND skinny, he was obviously shorter than Karlo, but he was the second tallest out of them all.

His commander was still talking, maybe he didn't hear Karlo's question, so he decided to kill the time by talking to the members on board.

He turned his head towards the medic, and began to speak.

"Hey, why do you think aliens would attack us? We aren't exactly much of a threat, heck we never want to get into conflict in the first place." Said Karlo, he was waiting for the medic to respond, as even though he was a giant with no friends, he still loved to talk to people.

"Who knows." Rudy reploed, spinning round on his seat slowly to face the giant panda. "We don't naturally live on these other planets, so maybe they're mad the we're hogging the solar system. I don't know. I probably would be too." With that he looked back out the window, blinking slowly. He kept conversations short and sweet whenever he could, and right nkw, he definitely wasn't feeling in the mood to talk. Not when their lives were going to be put on the line in just a few minuites.

"hogging the solar system? If they would just ask we would let them if we knew they were friendly, but who knows, maybe they don't care, maybe their only goal is to become the dominant species in this galaxy, but that's just a theory." Said Karlo.

"My name's Karlo, nice to meet you, what's your name?"

(I'm really hoping some other people will join and play characters, Sailor, Blue, if you could can you notify your friends about this roleplay? Thanks!)

While waiting for a response from the medic, Karlo once again looked outside the front window of the shuttle, they were about to start the docking sequence, Karlo stood up from his seat and readied his minigun, he checked to see if his GAURDIAN suits systems were in check and optimal, a bunch of metal plates started to form around Karlo's head, and soon formed a helmet on his head, a white glow slowly lit up on the visor, Karlo proceeded to walk to the door, waiting for the docking sequence to be finished.

Everyone proceeded to ready their belongings and get ready for boarding Savior Station, as the docking sequence was about to be finished, and then everyone walked to the door where Karlo was standing.

He towered over all of them, however nowadays Karlo towered over everyone, someone who was 7'1 was a rarity these days.

He took a deep breath inside of his helmet, he thought how his life and everyone elses could be at risk, he thought about Jessica, he started to tear up, but then held them back and quickly stopped, now was not the time to cry.

He was ready to open the door and board Savior Station, what he wasn't ready for, is what he would go through on the station itself.

(Nonetheless, I will keep posting, I know I should have told you this in the intro but I will inform you of the other stations and how they are. )

( Theres obviously Savior Station, it's used for mining, but most of it is used for extracting water, creating and processing food, military recruiting and training, and is also a safe haven for anyone on board.

-Hawk station is a station used for experimentation and creation of new technology, they experiment on animals, furries, create poisons, conduct experiments to see how things work, Hawk Station is responsible for most of the advanced space technology 2647 has, they are also responsible for all the knowledge, serums, medical supplies, poisons and scientific information that we know in 2647, there are 2 Hawk Stations, Hawk Station A is located in Neptunes orbit, and Hawk Station B is located in the orbit of Venus.)

Titan station-(of course you saw this in dead space 2, but.i couldn't resist, so don't hate me,

Titan station is only used for extremely classified or top secret conventions, discussion, programs, or projects that the military want to keep secret, and because of that reason, Titan station is very small (only a mile long) and is restricted to military access. It is located in the orbit of Pluto

(Diamond Station-Savior Station is used for mining but Diamond station is responsible for most of it, it is a massive mining station used not only for mining, but for recource gathering and processing, it is located in Earths orbit.

I am telling you this because the team may have to go to different stations to notify others or to survive, I hope you can adapt blue.)

"I'm Rudy. Yeah... Great to meet you too." He gave Karlo a weak smile before looking back out of the window solemly, cupping a hand underneath his chin as he did so, resting his elbow on the small windowledge. As they continued to approach the station, it became more apparent how much he missed his home and old job, where nothing out of the ordinary happened and it was the same every day. Its funny how you take things for granted until they're gone and you can't get them back. He was told by someone that he would be able to return home one day in the future- travel back was for from impossible for the time being, as people were flying to Pluto, the far end of the solar system. Yet a fear was now begining to build up in that these aliens that were attacking the stations around Saturn could turn and destroy Earth if they wanted too. Rudy's ears began to lay back against his head slowly as he desperatly tried to get that fear out if his head, but it could very much happen.

Karlo checked one last time to make sure everything was in check, he then looked at Rudy, looking out of the window, he knew that under his hazmat suit was a terrified and sad medic that wanted to go home and return to his old life, but Karlo knew that he couldn't go back now, they were responding to a distress call, ignoring that would be like not stopping a murder.

Karlo tried to speak louder than he did last time through his helmet, the helmets armor was thick and dense, so it muffled Karlo's speech, so he tried to speak louder so Rudy could hear him.

"Hey, I know you hate it here, I know you want your old life back, you don't want to risk your life here, you just want to go back to earth and do what you want, I get it Rudy, I want to go back to, but being a soldier gets you s lot of money and respect, and a medic even more, you think I like it here? I'm a 7 foot tall freak, people see me as a giant who wants to hurt people when all I want to do is say hi, but I've learned to power through it, now quit being sad and get your ass out here, the docking sequence is finished, and we've got a station to save."

Karlo admired his little speech, he felt brave.

He looked at the dorr trying to find the handle to open it with, he then found a large, red crank, he put his hand on it and slowly turned it until it got tight, an unfamiliar female voice talked above them.

"Docking sequence finished, please wait, opening door."
Said the voice.

Then a small amount of steam came out as the door opened, Karlo pushed it out far so everyone could get out.

His loud and heavy clanking from his suit gave him an alpha perspective, he was clearly the biggest and strongest of everyone here, but he only felt that feeling when he finally took steps on board the station, his GUARDIAN suit notified him of the environment.

"Scanning vicinity, no hostiles found, it is safe to traverse." Said the AI built within his suit, he forgot that the suit even came with an AI for assistance.

Karlo looked around, the station was very civilized, it looked very similar to a city in their time, however it was dark, very dark, it was also vacant, no one was around, Karlo could only hear wind rushing about, but his heavy suit prevented him from feeling anything, it was a suit of pure combat, and it needed to give the user maximum protection in any given situation.

He could hear whirring as the auto targeting minigun on his shoulder was looking around for anything that could be hostile.

Karlo tightened the grasp on the minigun in his hand, even thought he was wearing a heavily armored and advanced suit made by the military, he still didn't feel safe.

"GAURDIAN, activate night vision." Said Karlo to his AI.

"Night vision activated." Said the AI, soon after a bright, white cone of light emitted from his helmets visor, he could see everything much better now.

"Everyone ready?" Karlo asked as he patiently waited for everyone to get off before closing the door. He wanted to clear this infestation as fast as possible, bit he wouldn't do it without his crew.

Ray had been outside the station, repairing one of the many solar arrays dotting it's surface, when the aliens attacked. Trapped outside, the raccoon wandered from emergency oxygen port to the next, waiting for someone to let him in. He was seated near the docking port, watching the craft land. He sighed, contemplating letting his oxygen deplete. Activating his radio, Ray spoke quietly. "Anyone, for the seventy-second time, alive on the station? I know I'm speaking into dead-air, but I mean, I'm outside. Staring into the abyss that surrounds us." He sighed heavily. "Maybe I'll let my oxygen run out. But, anyway. Anyone alive in there?"

Karlo was still waiting for the crew to board, but then he heard a loudspeaker in the distance. It projected an unfamiliar voice and was asking if anyone was alive.

"Hey! We're an emergency response unit! We've come to save you! We're in the shuttle in front of your location!" Karlo shouted, waving his free hand towards the room that the racoon was in, hoping he would see them.

"Can you unlock the door in front of us? We're trying to get in so we can help!" Shouted Karlo, he wanted him to know they were friendly.

*Listens to the dialogue between the huge Panda and the tall medic. -Now that's relaxing. He said his name's Karlo. Now I know exactly what am I going to scream when I see an actual alien, armed with nothing but my hacking tools. Seriously now. Why do they need me around? It doesn't sound like the Station's AI gone mad, like the one time on lunar communications base. Or is it?.. Or.. both?*

*keeps thinking to himself -Yup, gonna die alright!*

*Puts his helmet and the cyberglove-controller on, then gets out of the ship with the others. Shows thumbs up as Karlo calls 'Everyone ready?'*

For just a short moment, Blue thought he could hear something over the intermittent zaps and low-freq humming of the station's power module, but he may have been mistaken.

"Hello?" MELANTHIOS said in a soft whisper.

He holds his breath as he listens over the PDA for any more signs of life.

. . .

Nothing.

Nothing but ambience.

No one was nearby - and if anyone was, they would be more likely interested in their own lives than the life of a voice over a PDA. He'd begin to believe more and more that whoever he would come into contact with would be inhuman and unfriendly.

With a crackled sigh, he exhaled even more hope. More waiting. But at least he was still there, right? That's all the mattered at this point.

Ray blinked, as he heard someone whisper over the radio. "I really hope I didn't imagine that. Rescue crew, I don't know if you heard that, but there's someone on the station, or rather in it. I'm gonna try and find another way in."

He then stood as started across the station's exterior, trying to raise the other individual. "Whoever spoke up just then, we've got company. They say they're rescue crew, but my gut tells me they're gonna scuttle this station, or kill everything on board. I'm gonna make my way to you, okay?"

Karlo then noticed he didn't have to hold the door open at all, and sighed at then thought, he took his hand off the door and looked at the computer specialist getting his things ready, he looked at Karlo and gave him a thumbs up, Karlo gave him a thumbs up back.

Karlo then proceeded to walk around, his metal clanking making him sound like a giant, he looked around, not only was it dark, now that he actually looked around with his night vision activated, he could now see everything.

There was blood, bodies in numerous places, not everywhere but definitely enough to know that something bad happened, Karlo saw tons of discarded equipment and weapons from previous people who tried to escape the terrible incident.

Karlo felt uneasy, the sight of organs and blood scattered across the floor and walls made his stomach churn, Karlo gagged but didn't throw up, he snapped out of it and approached the flight lounge in front of them.

He was now near the door, he looked around as there was at least a dozen corpses which were either eaten out of, eviscerated, decapited, or just straight up ripped apart.

"Guys, you gotta see this, it's like a bloody graveyard, ugh!" Karlo shouted to the crew members back at the shuttle still just walking aboard.

He could hear something moving, he heard a gust of wind and a clank against his left foreleg, Karlo quickly looked down and was about to stomp the living shit of anything that was touching him, but instead of seeing a horribly mutated corpse attempting to jump on him, it was a civilian.

"Help..........help...me........please help us......." Moaned the civilian.

He took a quick look, he was missing his eye and part of his nose was cut off, his face was covered in blood, and his fingers were crooked or cut off, he looked terrible, like he was a surgery gone wrong.

He had a large crate on his back, preventing him from getting up, Karlo then quickly kicked off the crate so he could then help him up, bit then he looked at the midsection of his torso, it was completely cut in half, his lower body was separated from his upper body by a few feet.

"Oh my god!" Karlo screamed, his throaty voice echoed across the flight lounge and docking decks, Karlo quickly jumped back and only heard a small groan of defeat as the civilian slowly died, it was a lemur, a dead, eviscerated lemur.

"Jesus, poor guy........" Karlo muttered quietly to himself.

He looked at the door in front of him, trying his absolute hardest to forget that a dying body was laying right next to him, he was panting under his helmet, he thought that something was going to jump at him at any moment so he was going to act fast.

He was still waiting for the mysterious person hold up in the control room to open the door for them, Karlo never thought he was trapped at all, he went to go check on him.

When he got to the room it was covered in blood and slime, the windows were cracked and had bullet holes, he could see a silhouette attempting to break out and call for help.

"Oh geez, hold on! Get away from the door I'm going to get you out of there don't worry!"

Karlo activated his combat mode, his visor glowed red and heavy armored plates shifted across his whole body, he then lift his arm near his head and charged it with energy from his suits systems.

He then jabbed his fist through the metal door, he felt around door the handle so he could tear the door off to free the prisoner, he finally found it, grabbed a hold of it, and ripped the door off his hinges and threw it behind him, sliding across the floor when it made impact, creating a loud grinding noise.

"This suit is stronger than I thought" Karlo said quietly, he then ran to the racoon and quickly helped him to his feet, he then shouted to the computer specialist as his suit was returning to normal systems.

"Hey computer guy! Can you get working on the door in the flight lounge? It's locked from the inside."

He saw as his commander looked at him with a disgraceful look, he made the commands, not Karlo.

Karlo ignored it and attempted to speak to the racoon.

"Who are you? What's your name? How did you get here?"

Karlo slowed down to let him answer, rushing questions at him isn't going to help anybody.

Karlo proceeded to tell him who he was before he informed the others falsely that he was a threat.

"Listen, my name is Karlo, I'm a soldier aboard an emergency response unit sent to respond to your distress call you sent a few hours ago, look, we aren't a threat, we've got medics, technicians, and armed soldiers, you can trust us."

He kept talking.

"You ever hear abou t project GAURDIAN, the program involving the military exosuit used for combat? I'm the guy that participated in it, I'm wearing the suit right now."

"Listen, we've got the computer specialist unlocking the door as we speak, don't worry, we will get in and save as many others as we can, just stay close to me, and you'll be safe."

Karlo stood up to his full height so he could observe his massive size, 7 feet tall, heavily armored inside of an exosuit, holding a minigun, he looked scary but definitely better than an alien trying to kill you.

"Hey! I've got a survivor over here!" Karlo shouted to notify his crew.

*There was simply no evading the fact. All of them were dead. And the cause wasn't exactly aging or broken eqipment.*
*-It's just a computer game. Just a computer game. Breathe. That's it. Breathe...*
*-Gotta turn on the lights. Everything's better with lights.*

*The lion starts moving his cyberglove around, reaching the nearest virtual controls. Weirdly, it seems irresponsive. -Let's try voice activation then.*

-Station AI. This is Emergency Response unit, authorised team tech, level 0. Personal password.. Hello world.
-Password incorrect.

*-The automated voice in my helmet sends chills down my spine. Let's try again...*

-Hello world. *he says again*
-Password incorrect. Be advised, third attempt will engage security automatons.

*-Not possible.. I set the password myself a few hours ago. And got the green response from the AIs security hub*
*Puzzled and looking for more virtual controls around, I barely notice all the commotion ahead. Then Karlo's voice wakes me up*

-The door.. right..

*The lion walks to the door, it has the basic numpad panel. He enters the code he set remotely just before: 0451... The panel stays red. Again. And again. He realizes he'd look stupid on fourth attempt and starts unpacking tools from his pockets. Internals of this panel looks bizzare, as if it was broken and then poorly repaired. -Hmm. Well let's see.. -he connects the universal tool and---*

-Je-sus! *jumps a few steps back, watching the sparks coming from the panel*
-Hang on guys, this will take a lil more time... Also.. At this point I want you to know someone's been playing around, cause none of the codes work. Codes I set up a few hours ago myself. And this panel's been fiddled with at least twice before.

*starts rebuilding the panel from spares and whatnot he's got in his pockets. Now it's just a bodge-job pushbutton*
-Done!.. Sort of.. It won't stay open for very long now. Best I could do. *packs stuff back in his pockets*
-Alright. I'll hit the override button when everyone's ready...

MELANTHIOS smiled internally from the reply. He clicked back on the station and replied to the voice, "Fantastic! Err... please hurry. I hear scuttling past the broken doors and in the vents. But don't worry about me just yet. What's more important is the PDA in the Savior Station Sector A Fluidics Control Room. Repeat, PDA, Savior Station, Sector A, Fluidics Control. There is information on it vital to getting this station under control. Do you copy?"

---------------------------------------------------------

Quiet tickering echoed through the corridors around the Emergency Response team. It seemed to come from everywhere, so the source was indeterminate. Distant hissing, feminine screaming, and two gunshots followed shortly after, and the soft ticking stopped. Dead silence.

"Sector A, got it, we will be closing in on your location soon civilian, just stay alive for as long as you can."
Karlo said, he reported that there are survivors holding up in the Sector A to his commanding officer.

"Activate map hologram." Said Karlo to his suits AI, then a large holographic projection of the Stations map emitted in front of his torso.

"Sector A, sector A where's sector A...........aha! There only a couple hundred feet away if he's actually in the control room, we should get there in 25-30 minutes tops." He said to the racoon who he saved moments ago.

He looked at ray with a look of hope under his helmet.

"You stay close to me, I'll keep you safe, grab a weapon off my back so you can protect yourself if I'm not able to, don't worry we'll get your friend."

Karlo turned around so Ray could pick a weapon, he could choose a handgun, shotgun, or assault rifle, these were weapons Karlo had so he could supply his team with weapons and ammo if they need it.

While he waited for Ray to pick he saw Alex attempting to dismantle and rewire the doors keypad so he could hack the door open. He saw the other soldiers of the crew stand near him, protecting him if anything were to happen.

Strangely the pilot was here to, he came with so he could command any vehicle they would need in emergencies.

"Wow, these people really came prepared." Thought Karlo.

Ray nodded. "Fluidics. Got it. Is there an airlock nearby? 'Cause I really don't wanna have to time the e-windows again..."

"I don't know," MELANTHIOS admitted to Ray. "The PDA is in a room where both the bulkheads into the room have been badly damaged. No hope of opening them. Wait, hold on. It looks like there it an airlock just to the south. Head north of the Nacelle C2 containment housing, and you'll run right into it. With any luck, the airlock will still be functional."
Title: Re: The Fall of Savior Station
Post by: Rayleonarde on February 23, 2017, 10:31:32 AM
Ray made his way to the Nacelle C2 airlock. He stopped just outside, and spoke. "How bad is it in there? I haven't been inside in a day or so."

"Where I'm at?" MELANTHIOS paused as he considered Ray's question. "Pretty nasty. Haven't seen a live person in two whole days. I've locked myself in Engineering Control. Have access to a small weapons storage cache from in here. Staying low. Not going to leave any time soon... but again, don't worry about me. Just get to that PDA."

If Ray listened closely, he would hear metallic clunking over the radio, like something was lurking in the ventilation systems.

(Yes Razuel, you can join, you didn't even have to ask!)

Karlo followed Ray around while Alex was still attempting to hack the control panel, he could hear the scuttling in the vents, he also heard faint growling in the distance from Rays radio, he also heard tons of screaming that didn't seem very far, it was getting significantly closer every second, and the screams didn't sound human at all.

"Oh no, everyone get behind me now!" Karlo shouted at the top of his lungs, his deep voice so powerful it created vibrations in the ground.

"AI, activate combat mode now" Uttered Karlo, after a moment his visor emitted a cone of dark red light and his armor plates shifted to cover his whole body, Karlo aimed at the airlock, the screams were coming from there, Karlo grabbed Rays arm with a painful iron grip (no pun intended) and yanked him behind his suit, Karlo aimed his minigun at the airlock and began to spin up his miniguns barrel.

"If I'm going to die I'm going to die a hero." Karlo thought once more, he locked his feet into the ground and didn't move an inch, the auto targeted minigun on Karlo's shoulder aimed at the airlock and began to spin, it detected hostiles, and would help Karlo eliminate them if it saw any.

Hurdling through space is a damaged escape pod from another space station that met a similar fate,  but one survivor, a girl whom was picked because of her age and the hope of that station... but Angel was never awake for that incident as years ago she used to be a star, a literal star, but was struck down and rescued by a marine.

Anyway, the pod soon came across another space station, and just as another alien ship came barreling in, the pod rammed right through their ship, exploding it, right before crashing into a biodome just as the blast doors for the room sealed all entry from outside the station.  The pod had a cryogenic pod inside with a beautiful dragon girl inside, just awaiting to be awoken... and saved from the escape pod as the interior of the pod was indeed in flames.

(Savior station is massive, creating a map for something that ginormous would be nearly impossible, but from what I'm picturing Karlo and Ray are near the airlock, which is on a docking deck adjacent and about 20-30 feet away from the flight lounge, and the shuttle is just in front of the flight lounge, about 30-40 feet away, I guess that's all I could say, it's extremely hard to create a map for a Canada sized station, but I'm just telling you thats how I picture it, and I also see a force field behind the shuttle, which is obviously the front entrance the station, and right after that would be th e docking bay, sorry to confuse you, but that's just what I'm seeing.)

What does everyone else think?))

"Look, Friend," Said MELANTHIOS to Ray over the radio, "I think you've misunderstood... I am not with the PDA. That's why you need to get to it - because it's unprotected. Believe me, I would protect it if I could. But it's up to you. It's waiting for you in Fluidics. Do you copy?"

(What I'm seeing is there are multiple docking decks in the docking bay lined up in a domino-like row, and the shuttle is in the very middle deck, and in front of the row of docking decks is the flight lounge, and to the left is the airlock door, and to the right is the control room for the flight lounge, hope this helps)

(Good work blue! That should help us until we get into the other sectors.)

Karlo heard the screams getting louder and louder, he was now hearing screeching and banging as well, he heard them right behind the door, and then, they came.

The door opened and waves of mutated corpses and aliens swarmed Karlo, he tried to get them off by knocking them on the walls with his back, it worked somewhat and now he could fight.

Karlo quickly deployed a force field to block off the remaining hordes of aliens, and he switched his minigun to the aliens behind him, he quickly spun up the barrel and started to fire, large, blue plasma shots exited the barrel and mowed down the enemies in front of him, with tons of blood splattering across him and the floor.

Karlo yelled a fear enducing warcry as he kept on firing, an alien from his side tried to ambush him, but the shoulder minigun quickly shot it down.

He turned around, he missed a few as at least 20-30 aliens were rushing towards Alex and the rest of the crew.

"NO!" Karlo shouted, he noticed as the force field finally broke and he was being surrounded by hostile creatures.

He was forced to drop his minigun and use hand to hand combat to fight off the aliens that were attacking him.

His fists were then covered with iron spikes and studs to improve impact and force with the fists.

Karlo quickly threw them off one by one, and started to punch them into oblivion, each punch knocking them down and sending them off their feet, breaking their bones and sending blood spewing from their mouth.

He kept punching and throwing around the enemies as his shoulder minigun shit down any enemies he missed

"There's so many of them!" Karlo thought Ashe was brutally punching, kicking and throwing around amthe aliens, he saw a group trying to go for the shuttle, he activated his plasma cannon.

A large, metal barrel erupted in his forearm with an intimidating design. He charged up as plasma energy was gathering into a single, explosive shot, after a few seconds, he fired it at the group of aliens.

A large, greenish blue ball of electric energy fired from the cannon and quickly followed his aim towards the enemies, then a bright flash appeared as a large explosion emitted from the blast, obliterating the enemies to shreds and chaining electricity to other enemies near them.

Karlo was still surrounded by aliens, he was mad, he was tired of this, he let out all his rage by shouting in anger while raising his fist in the air, and then slamming it into the ground, creating a large dent in the surface and sending all the aliens around him flying across the docking bay.

He felt a tendril wrapped around his leg, Karlo looked down and saw a horrifying creature, it's eyes and mouth were mixed and mutated, it was covered in tendrils and an infested fungal growth, it had a stomach full of parasites and worms, they were human, this wasn't an alien invasion, this is an infestation.

Karlo grabbed the terrifying creature with one hand and lifted it up to eye level,he then threw it across the docking bay as it hit one of the walls near the flight lounge, and nearly hit one of the military personnel whenit fell off the wall.

"Guys, look out!" Karlo shouted as a dozen infested aliens rushed towards Alex, Rudy and the security personnel.

Angel's pod door suddenly broke off, along with the rest of it before the room's fire prevention system started to shower the smoke and putting out the fire, but from the look of things, the aliens haven't gotten to thus area yet.

Slowly, as the water seeped into her cryogenic pod, it started to short out until it caused the pod to start the realization process.

Throughout the station, the sentence blared, "Fire in Biodome lobby secured."

As the doors opened, loose objects near the airlock were shot into empty space. Ray watched as many of the bits he could, and yelped when the PDA shot out. He jumped after it, and eventually caught the little device. Ray then used the maneuvering jets on his suit to scoot his way back. "Whoever wanted it, I've secured the PDA."

Karlo could see as Rudy and Alex were trying to hang on to various items to avoid being shot into space, Karlo's gravity boots kept him on the ground, but what kept the aliens on the ground?

Karlo turned around and grabbed rays arm as he was trying to fly back in, Karlo pulled forcefully on his arm, sending him flying back into the docking bay.

Karlo looked at the infesteds feet, they were wearing thick, clunky boots, which had to be gravity boots.

"Smart bastards." Karlo muttered as he threw Ray towards the rest of the ergency response unit, hoping he could save them, as he threw Ray Karlo deployed a force field in front of the airlock door to stop the vacuum from killing them.

It worked, the door was blocked by the force field, which have enough time for Karlo to shut the door, he watched as everything flew to the ground in an instant, so did the crew members, they weren't injured but it the drop definitely looked painful.

"Ray, use your suits jets!" Karlo uttered at Ray, hoping he heard, Karlo was too bulky and slow to reach them in time, only Ray could save them now.

Upon hearing Ray's update, Melanthios beamed with delight. Suddenly, the PDA in Ray's paws flickered to life. The face of a jackal came up in poor resolution, intermittently interrupted with short bursts of static and distorted audio.

"Good! You found the PDA," Ray would be able to hear over his comm. "I figured it would be a lot better if I talked to you a bit more... privately. I think someone may be listening in on our radio convo," he explained, "so semi-localized encrypted communication seems to be our best bet. As long as you stay close to the PDA, I'll be able to talk with you. I do apologize for not having introduced myself earlier. My name is Melanthios. But you can call me 'Mel' for short, if you prefer."

Ray, whose only goal was the PDA, immediately plugged the PDA into his helmet and spoke. "So, you were up here too, huh? W-Well, what next? S-Should we link up? W-Where are you?" As he spoke, he walked down the access hall, ignoring Karlo's orders. His voice had a pang of hopefulness, and a touch of loneliness. On the inside, Ray was hoping that Melanthios would agree.
Title: Re: The Fall of Savior Station

"Ray! Ray! What the hell!" Karlo shouted
He saw Ray just walking about, talking to Melanthios on his PDA, ignoring the fact there were alien creatures going after the crew.

Karlo surged his suit with energy, and jumped 15-20 feet in the air as he raised both hands while he was closing in on the infested, once he landed he quickly brought his arms down, creating a powerful slam which sent the creatures of their feet and created a massive dent in the surface.

Karlo ran to go finish them off, but they all disappeared, it's like they just vanished put of thin air.

"Great, now they can ambush us later on."

Karlo walked over to Ray in a very aggressive manner, his weight combined with the suit made loud clanks that could be heard a mile away.

As soon as he got to him, he out his hand on his.shoulder and forcefully spun him towards his direction, facing Karlo's face.

"What the hell? Those people could have died and we need them to get around! I just saved you from captivity and this is how you repay us!? Just ignoring me and putting peoples life at risk? Who cares about your PDA? I have a job to do, and that job is saving this station, if your going to be like this then your can save your own ass when those things come for you."

Karlo walked away, his massive shoulders bumping into Ray as he walked towards the airlock to grab his minigun.

Once he picked if up his helmet automatically came off, when the plates shifted and went down into his suit, the face of an orange and white panda could be seen.

Karlo squinted at Ray and made an intimidating face, he couldn't be trusted but Karlo wasn't ready to throw him out yet.

He walked towards Alex.

"You seeing this guy? He just left you people to die, what an asshole, he only cares about his PDA."

He turned to Rudy's direction.

"Rudy, can you check and see if any of these people are hurt? The last thing we want is an injured crew."

"You have the right idea, Friend," Melanthios said to Ray.

He then perked his ears and glanced around at an explosive metallic crunch that sounded on his end of the PDA sounded out loud. The Jackal held his breath as he silently rushed over to peer through the crack in a nearby bulkhead. He started breathing heavily as visible panic began to set in.

"Ray," Melanthios hissed more quietly than the grinding metal echoing down the corridor from him, "Ray, you have to move. He got loose, and he is very... very pissed. I don't have time to explain. Just make your way to *screech* B2! I *screech*-peat: get *creak* Cafeteria B2!! You have to get around *ravenous growl* we can meet! Get moving! And don't let that PDA out of your sight!!"

And with that, the screen pixelated then flickered off, leaving Ray alone with the information Melanthios had given him.

Karlo walked towards the flight lounge door, it opened and revealed a hallway of darkness and bloody walls.

Karlo's night vision helped him see through the hallway, he signaled where they should go since Karlo is the only one with access to a map.

Karlo heard loud growling noises coming from Ray's PDA.

"Cafeteria B2....... I'll update my map and see if we can get there ASAP." Karlo said calmly.

What he wanted to know is what this infestation really is and why it wants to kill us, he was going to find out but he wanted to know now.

As the fire inside the pod was quelled from it losing power, Angel's pod door shot off and her cryogenic pod started to thaw her body and bring her back to consciousness.

When Angel woke up, she staggered her steps, clumsily walking out of the pod to look at the animal exhibits on the walls .

As she looked around, she walked over to a large landscape window, sitting in front of it and watching the lights below, not knowing that it was fighting.

Angel was different from most beings, she could self propel herself through space,  all without needing oxygen.

The window overlooked the cafeteria, and her turquoise glow in the darkness of the biodome could be slightly seen.

Ray made it about halfway to the cafeteria, when he was attacked by some of the creatures. He panicked, and discharged his welder. His aim, albeit panicked, struck true and destroyed the head of  the creature closest to him. Ray began re-charging his welder, as the other creature advanced. He was not fast enough, and the creature wrestled the raccoon to the ground. Ray was flailing, pounding at the creature in vain hopes to deter it. After a few moments, the raccoon gripped something familiar. Hard and cold, cylindrical in shape, the pipe crashed into the creature's skull and lodged itself firmly there. Once it finished it's death-throws, Ray tossed the creature aside and stood up, wiping gunk and blood off of himself as best he could. He realized some gore had gotten onto his face, and set about cleaning his face, before deploying his helmet. The lighted facets on the helmet's front gave enough light for him to see, and his suits minimal AI had pathed out the way to Cafeteria B2.  Ray wondered if the soldiers were going to shoot him in the back, as he had left some of them in the lurch. Though a part of him felt bad, they were here to save him and not the other way around, right? Ray sighed loudly, and continued on his way, pipe in one paw and welder in the other.

A holographic display sparked up in the corner of Ray's HUD. It was Melanthios. He spoke in a loud whisper.

"It's moved on from where I am. I've managed to block off some of the doors between me and the creature. You seem to be nearing the cafeteria now. Be careful. Arm yourself with whatever you can. I fear it may have caught on to your scent."

A quiet blip, and the digital jackal had vanished from Ray's visor, without giving him much time to respond.

Up ahead, corpses and blood adorned the corridors, but it seems like the creators of said corpses had already been beaten down by Ray. A soft, natural hum vibrated from behind the walls, and the lights around the corner flickered intermittently.

Angel peered from the biodome room window to the below cafteria B2, seeing movement, but unable to see what was going on.

Out of the wall fell a gangreous alien, and she looked at it as it growled at her.

Angel tilted her head, seeing the pain it was in and not the danger easily presented before her.

Angel walked towards the alien, placing a hand on it's head, to which it closed it's eyes as the sickness within disappeared, but then it fell dead as the sickness was what was keeping it alive, and this made Angel erupt in a loud scream, it carrying through the fortified vents leading into the room

While Karlo could do nothing but watch Ray fend off the infested, as he was too far away, could hear a loud Screech across the sector.

He ran over to Ray and stomped on the corpse. Making sure it was dead.

"You okay?" Karlo asked.

Karlo then randomly entered a video chat with Melanthios, Melanthios could see a large, heavily armored soldier weilding a minigun with a helmet covering his face.

"This is Karlo, im a security officer aboard the emergency response unit heading your way as we speak, we should get there in about 20 minutes tops, do you have any idea what the hell is going on?" Karlo asked the jackal.

Ray stepped away from Karlo in anger. "Quit hacking my comms! Just 'cause you're carrying firepower doesn't mean you rule the roost!"

Melanthios flicked to Karlo's channel.

"I know what is going on," he quipped. "The whole station is plagued with aliens and $#!%!"

He then cleared his throat apologetically. "As for getting here, I'm not sure you can make it. directly between you and me are two broken bulkheads, two locked and barricaded doors, and some hulking mass of alien flesh. The only way you're going to find a way down to engineering control is through the air ducts, and those are swarming with activity."

"Well I'm obviously too big to fit in any air ducts, are you sure there's no other option? Try to see if you can find a control panel which has access to the bulkheads."
Karlo said calmly.

"Also this isn't just an alien invasion, it's an alien virus, latching on to regular people and mutating them into these...........things, I'll try to bring a live one to your location so you can analyze it, I'll try to restrain it as best as I can, but if it breaks loose, then don't hesitate to kill it." Said Karlo.

Karlo looked at Ray.
"Yeah, I know, but we all have to communicate with each other to survive, it's kind of stupid to keep the commander away from us when talking to people is exactly what we have to do to find out what's going on, even if you understand, everyone else has to as well, which means everyone should have access to communications."

Karlo looked around for the commander, he then found his dead body by the flight lounge, torn up by hostile aliens.

Karlo looked back in Rags direction.
"And since the commander is dead, and I clearly know what I'm doing, I'm in charge now, and if you have a problem with that, then you can survive without us, see how long you last, small fry."

Karlo turned away from Ray's direction and kept on walking down the hallway, alert and ready, Karlo used his night vision just so in case the lights went out.

"Now let's go, your friend is waiting and is at risk of dying, and we don't want that do we? So come on."

"Woah, woah, hey, I've seen enough of those things already!" Melanthios assured Karlo. "Besides, I'm no scientist. I'm just a tech guy. As for opening the doors, it's no good. I've tried them all, employing multiple different methods for getting them open. I have had no luck whatsoever. Perhaps there is one among you who can fit through the vents? Maybe Ray...? The device he holds contains information vital to helping take control of the situation. All I need is someone to get it to me down here in Engineering, and we're golden. I trust Ray."

"Ray? He left us for dead back there! I'm not sure if I can trust him, he could have helped fend off those things back at the flight lounge, but instead he went for the PDA, this guy could be a liability, you sure about this?"

Karlo looked at Ray while the plates on his helmet came off and sunk into his suit, revealing the pandas face.

Karlo looked back at Melanthios on comms, he could see his face entirely and clearly.

He looked very gruff and inconsiderate, which is strange for how nice he is around others. He had a full beard, which was orange and matched his color, he also had a square chin and his skull was thick and large, he looked very mad and serious, and he kinda was, but he didn't mean to look so pissed off in front of everyone, in fact he always looks mad, it's his face, he can't help it, he looks like a thug, but with a heart, a red, oversized heart.

"Besides you can't do this without us, I carry the firepower to stop these things, Alex can help us bypass security, Rudy can patch us up if we get hurt, and our pilot is the one who operates all the vehicles, you know were all important, and we all have to work together." Karlo made a good point, he smiled at how smart he sounded, then turned back to Melanthios.

"Besides, there's almost a billion people on this thing, why do you think I came here to save it? Without this station there wouldn't be clean water or food for everyone, and nobody would have a safe place to go to, this station is very important, which is why I came here."

Karlo looked a bit confused "sorry, I know I didn't need to say that but k felt like I needed to. Anyway are you absolutely sure you trust Ray? That guy completely abandoned us, and what's so important about the PDA? You said it contains vital information......."

Hearing Karlo's statement, Ray quickly hid the PDA in his suit. He knew how the rescue captain would act; cut out the middleman. Once the PDA was in Karlo's possession, Ray knew he would be dead weight.

Melanthios nodded, considering Karlo's take on the situation. The radio crackled, and he replied. "Maybe he did leave you for dead. But you're all alive, aren't you? The fact that that man, Ray, risked his tail to get to a PDA that could save this entire station, and potentially even Earth as well, is a commendable act of heroism. I admire his selfless risk. I understand you all operate best as a team. But once you reach the point of no return, not everyone will be able to continue on. Am I sure I trust Ray? Hell yes, I'm sure. But in the end... it's his decision, isn't it?"

Melanthios folded his arms as he leaned back in his chair, considering the two holographic face before him.

"You have a point, but I don't want Ray getting all the credit for saving this station." Karlo chuckled.

"Alright fine, I know what your saying and I understand, but your gonna tell me what's so important about the PDA first before I can actually trust you." Karlo raised an eyebrow and leaned his weight on one leg, making him seem shorter.
Title: Re: The Fall of Savior Station
Post by: Blue Fox on April 01, 2017, 04:54:44 AM
"So you're in it for the glory... interesting." Melanthios cocked his head and narrowed his eyes at Karlo. "If you must know, the PDA contains algorithms that override backdoor access security for all systems within a designated sector. Using this, we can corral and trap the aliens by taking control of the doors and vents and sealing them in. Then, we systematically eliminate them, room by room. And if it is a virus, like you say, then it will also keep it from spreading. There may also be information on it about how all this started in the first place."
Title: Re: The Fall of Savior Station
Post by: Lord Isscarus on April 01, 2017, 06:26:48 AM
"Not exactly in it for the glory, I'm also doing my job and want to save people, and if I don't help save this station there's a bigger chance that it could get shut down or destroyed, possibly ending mankind, so glory is only a part of it."

Karlo listened to Melanthios talking about the PDA.
"I thought it was just a communication antenna, I never knew it controlled parts of the station."

Karlo thought for a moment, he looked back at Ray with a blank expression on his face, then looked back.

"OK, now that I understand why it's so important, I'll trust Ray, or at least trust him for now, make sure to barricade yourself in the room so these things can't get to you, me and my team will get to  engineering pretty soon, just hold up until then, Karlo out."

Melanthios's channel flickered as Karlo exited the video chat.

Karlo looked at Ray, and then stared at the PDA on his wrist.
"Ray, I'll boost you Into the vents, you try to move around and find a way to gain access to those Bulkheads, your the only one that has access to this place, Melanthios convinced me to trust you for now, don't break that trust, or else I'll label you as a threat, and do whatever I can to stop you if you interfere with me or my team, ok?"

Karlo realized what he just said.
"Look, I'm a bit paranoid right now, you left us to di e back there but your friend convinced me to trust you, so let's not waste time shall we?"

Post by: Lord Isscarus on April 02, 2017, 01:01:28 PM
Karlo pushed a button on his wrist and metal plating slid off his leg which revealed a space where a weapon was stored.

"It's a sawed off shotgun, lightweight, powerful, easy to carry, but has extremely strong knockback, and you have to be up close to do real damage, just try not to blow off your own legs while your in there, because you actually can."

Karlo handed the gun to Ray and then boosted him into the vent.

He could hear Ray crawling around he told ray good luck and the metal plates on his neck shifted around his head, forming a protective helmet.

Karlo could hear screeches and cries coming from behind him. Karlo activated his combat mode, which made the metal plates grew larger and shift over each other for maximum protection, all while enhancing Karlo's senses and strength.

Karlo noticed that him and Ray were the only ones in here, the whole crew was scattered out and lost, Karlo was alone.

He aimed his minigun at the door and spun the chamber.

But instead of a horde of creatures swarming him, it was a massive, malformed creature slightly bigger than Karlo.

The eyes were blood red and pulsing, and there was actually a dozen eyes all over the body, each more disgusting than the last, one arm was covered in a fungus which elongated and enlarged the said arm, making it swollen and deformed, his other arm was covered in tendrils and mutated biomass, it's legs were like trees, it had many tendrils sprouting from its feet, and it also had a large mouth on the torso, about the size of a flat screen TV.

Karlo fired his minigun at the beast, it stumbled back and raised it's arms in the air, attempting to protect itself with its limbs, it then slowly walked forward while Karlo was firing, ignoring the thousands of rounds being shot at him.

Karlo was backed up on a wall, and his only choice was to fight.

The adrenaline in his body was stronger and faster than ever before, and could feel the vibrations of the beasts footsteps as it walked towards him.

"Oh God, oh no! Get away from me! Get the HELL AWAY FROM MEEE!!!" Karlo screamed in terror, the beast was so large and horrifying that it even scared people like Karlo.

Ray could bear gunfire and shouting coming from the vents, he could clearly tell something was wrong.

Ray wanted to help Karlo, but he couldn't turn around in the vent. He bit his lip and continued through the vent.

Suddenly, Melanthios chimed in on the comms to Ray, "I don't mean to alarm you, but I don't think you're alone in that vent, Ray. Don't think; don't hesitate; just move as quickly and as quietly as you can."

A muffled clicking sound was coming from behind one of the branches of ductwork that Ray had already passed, followed by a sticky sound and a low growling.

He probably couldn't turn around, but if he could- well... he wouldn't want to turn around....

_________________________________________________

The alien beast attacking Karlo stood hunched over in the corridor that was clearly not sized for a creature of his magnitude. Jagged claws were drawn out, poised to slash, and oozing eyeballs guarded his movements very carefully.

With a swift motion, he rammed Karlo into the wall and screeched a deafening tone from his oversized, misplaced maw. The smell of rot and death loomed heavy in the air.

The monster lumbered towards the fur in the suit on its almost humorously downsized "legs." Clearly, it was too big to realistically hold itself up on those sorry excuses for legs for very long without tiring.

The thing drew its sharpened limbs back, ready to strike again.
Title: Re: The Fall of Savior Station
Post by: Lord Isscarus on April 03, 2017, 08:30:18 PM
Karlo dropped his minigun and raised his arms to block the strike, he got knocked through the wall, and rolled on to his back as pieces of metal and concrete from the wall covered the air around him.

"Ah that hurt! Ok, time to show this thing whos boss, AI, activate melee mode!"

Armor shifted into Karlo's fits as studs and spikes appeared as well, he gained extra chest and helmet armor, while the armor on his arms widened out to be used as shields or to block attacks.

The beast roared in fury and charged towards Karlo in aggression, Karlo rolled out of the way to dodge the attack and threw 2 hard hitting hook punches, making the beast spew blood and stumble backward with each hit, Karlo then proceeded to tackle it to the ground and attempted to choke it to death, as Karlo enforced a death grip on the monster and tried as hard as he could to kill it, before it could be killed it wrapped tendrils around Karlo and smashed him several times around the room before throwing him to a wall, denting and cracking it.

The beast shot out its elongated arm at Karlo, Karlo, who was on the ground, recovering from the previous attack, quickly jumped up and caught it's arm in mid air.

He then let out a grunting shout as he forcefully threw the beast over his head using his massive strength, and it flew into the weakened wall, breaking through it and rolling several times as it slid on the ground.

Karlo ran towards the beast in pure rage, this fight was brutal, and so far the 2 were evenly matched in brute strength and force, Karlo hadn't fought an opponent this intimidating and strong, but his suit was built to withstand much more powerful blows, how ever the Beats bad much more range, while Karlo had more speed.

The beast hissed at Karlo as it recovered from being thrown. Its dislocated arm hung limp at its side. The beast's face and eyes were cut and bleeding profusely, spattering everything with acidic blood the color of oil. The monster could barely make out the Panda's form. It screeched and charged him blindly, swinging like mad with his good arm, the other flailing about, knocking over crates and tables. It was hungrier and angrier than it was before. Only Karlo could keep it from its deathly rampage.
Title: Re: The Fall of Savior Station

Ray crawled quickly and quietly, muttering curses under his breath. He could flip onto his back to shoot between his feet, but he had no inkling of what rounds the gun was loaded with. Slugs would work, as long as he could hold the gun, incendiary pellets would cost him most of his lower body, and buckshot would assuredly relieve him of his feet. So he trekked on, slowly. After a few moments he reached the one thing he dreaded, a fork in the vent. "S-Shit," he whispered, "l-left or right?" Ray was panicking, his mind locking up.
Title: Re: The Fall of Savior Station
Post by: Lord Isscarus on April 04, 2017, 09:16:25 PM
Even for Karlo's massive size, he was surprisingly agile, he was able to easily Dodge the beasts attacks and block any he couldn't Dodge with the shields on his arms, he then enabled a force field right in front of him to stop his haymakers, and pushed it forward, knocking the beast down.

Karlo shouted in anger as he jumped on the alien, pinning it to the ground with his left hand while beating it into submission with the right hand as hard as he could, doing extreme damage to its face, after only a few punches he made the head explode and nearly punched a hole in the ground, spewing blood and brain bits all-over his armor.

"Oh God!" Karlo screamed in disgust as he looked at his hands.

"Jeez, I really need to take anger management classes" Karlo said in surprise, he was fast to anger but not this fast.

Karlo picked up his minigun and deactivated melee mode, and followed Rays path, however he encountered a locked door.

"AI, any way to bypass this door?" Karlo said to the AI in his suit.

The AI responded almost instantly.
"It appears that the door is not locked, but shut down due to lack of power, there is a generator in engineering that powers up a quarter of the ship, however the generator is located in engineering, and that is past this door, the only way to get past this door is by going through the vents or with brute force."

"Thank you, AI" Karlo said.

"No problem Karlo, and please, call me Charles."

Karlo chuckled at the AIs sense of humor.

He then took a few steps back for running space as he was going to use the combined weight of him with the suit on to shoulder down the door.

However what Karlo didn't notice is that the alien virus mutating these Humans is actually constantly mutating itself, getting stronger each hour, and so far it has evolved to the point where it can regenerate destroyed tissue, meaning the beast that Karlo killed will be back in Several hours to attack him again.

"Make right," Melanthios warned Ray, "and be quick about it!"

The creature, little did Ray know, had way of sensing its surroundings aside from having a single eye. It shrieked and rolled around the corner just as Ray disappeared behind the fork ahead, narrowly escaping the xenomorph's line of sight.

"You're nearly there. Just get to the elevator. That will take you just a few rooms away from where I'm at."

Ray crawled a little faster after the creature shrieked, and quickly found his exit. After kicking the vent open, he turned around and forced the pipe into the vent, wedging the grate closed. "Whew...screw vents man." He checked the vent briefly, before turning back to the hall. He held the shotgun awkwardly, having never actually used a firearm. "Making my way to the elevator now."

(Hey guys, due to the fact that the virus is constantly mutating and regenerating lost biomass, it's actually impossible to kill them unless your completely destroying them or burning them to death, however they have a weak spot, the reason why Karlo was getting attacked the most is because the virus is smart, they try to take out the biggest threat first, and the virus is attempting to create is own biomass and will eventually mutate it to cover the entire ship, infecting and killing everybody with it. But heres the thing, if you do so as little as touch the aliens, the virus could spread to you and you could turn into them in a matter of hours, so it's highly contagious, Ray had a suit on so he doesn't count, but anyway their weakness is sight, anything that looks very bright or important they will aim for it first, and yes, the virus works as a hive mind, but we will see the leader near the end of the RP.

This is just to show you how much of a threat this virus is.)

After Karlo shouldered down the metal door, he hooked his minigun on his back, and ran forward.

"Charles, how much longer till the elevator to engineering?"

"The door to engineering is just ahead, the elevator to engineering is located in that room, make a left at the end of the hallway."

"Thanks Charles." Said Karlo.

Karlo banged on the door repeatedly with his fists, the door randomly opened by itself, and he walked in.

Karlo could see a jackal in front of him managing the control panels, Karlo looked at Melanthios.

"Hey, I'm here, it's Karlo, maybe we could talk in person about what's going on."

Karlo stood nearly a foot taller than Melanthios, but then again karlo was bigger than everyone.

Karlo's helmet plates shifted into his torso armor, revealing his face.

"Whenever your ready." Karlo said, crossing his arms.

"Ray, it's Karlo, I'm here with Melanthios, try to hurry up so we can rendezvous."

Karlo looked around, everything was locked and boarded up, Karlo could see a body in the corner, it seemed to be moving, it was infected, and it was going to turn soon, probably in 10-15 minutes.

Karlo walked over and stomped the corpse some more to delay the process.

Charles, scan the infected tissue for any information or weaknesses.

"Tissue scanned, database information has been stored in your helmets memory file, you can access the information at any time I'd needed."

"Thank you Charles."

"Anytime Karlo, let me know if you need assistance." The AI spoke. It seemed to be very helpful, Karlo didn't even know the AI could scan things, very helpful indeed.

"Ray," Melanthios whispered over Ray's local private channel, "Change of plan. Something's come up. Once you get down to Engineering, do not leave the elevator. When I give you the 'all-clear,' you need to take it up to Operations. From there, leave the elevator, and make a left. Follow that corridor, and take the third right, second left, and first right again. There will be a keypad on the door in front of you. The code is 5527. I'm sending you the info now. Please hurry. "No doubt this virus is organic, it attacks the brain first by infecting and controlling the brain cells, hence why the infected corpses aren't exactly corpses, also explains why they can resist the virus, it takes over cellse by reproducing the virus directly on blood cells, instantly infecting and taking over said cells, also as the virus grows, it mutates, growing extra limbs, body parts, enhancing strength, reflexes, tendrils and tentacles are added as a ranged or grappling weapon, they've mutated to the point of regeneration, where other infected cells can repair dead ones and bring them back by reproducing on the dead cells, thus creating another infected cell and bringing the dead line back to life, if you think of this, they are mutating at a rapid rate, and they can regenerate lost biomass, after a couple days we won't be able to kill them, so we need a plan, and fast." Karlo said to Melanthios.

Karlo barricaded the door he went through so infected cant get in.

"Well I do know one thing." Karlo said.

"As I was shooting my minigun at one of those things earlier, my minigun shoots plasmic rounds (plasma rounds, plasma is a type of destructive energy, people use it in nuclear reactors to generate power.) And plasma generates light, as I was firing, it tried to follow the rounds and was confused, same thing around the airlock earlier, as soon as I started firing they all came to me, and since plasma generates light, and since my minigun shoots plasmic rounds, that means that they are attracted to bright light."

"I'm not sure though, just an observation."

"Charles, are these creatures attracted to light?" Said Karlo.

Charles spoke in a monotone voice.
"Their retinas and corneas are more thin and weaker than humans, making them extra sensitive to light, the real reason they are attracted to light is because due to the fact that they need vision to see, and that they have extremely sensitive eyes, bright light greatly damages their eyes, especially light that can damage human eyeballs, however they try to take out what is generating the light so they can see again, and therefore keep on attacking, without vision they can't attack, and bright light destroys their vision, make sense?"

"I guess so." Said karlo.

"The virus risks taking away eye muscle tissue to boost the mutation speed of its own cells, thus having more sensitive vision for stronger mutation, the easiest way to attract the creatures is by generating a bright light and aiming it towards them, however since your generating the light, they will immediately see you as a threat, because they know your trying to destroy their vision to stop them, so only use this tactic if necessary, also civilian Ray Blackburn is almost here, he will be at your exact location in exactly 2 minutes and 53 seconds."

"Damn this AI is helpful, thanks Charles."

"Always welcome Karlo, leg me know if you need any assistance or information with anything."

"Oh Melanthios, my suit has a built in AI to help me assess situations and gather info, he's extremely helpful, he named himself Charles." Karlo chuckled at his name.

"Rays going to be here in a few minutes, Charles told me, we just have to stay put."

"Charles, send all the information you gathered about this Virus to Melanthios suit please."

"Information sent."

"You'll find how to combat these things by looking at the info Charles sent you."

His ears twitched as Ray's transmission came through. "There is a possibility," he replied on Ray's private channel, "but the chances of it being a friendly are slim-to-none. You have to move quickly. If you want to check it out, I must first ask that you please take the elevator down to Engineering first, then go back to investigate, but for the sake of every one on this station, be careful..."

Angel heard the growling get closer to her and her expression soon turned slightly scared as she stepped back as it came closer, to then repeat, "A-a-any others?"

"It sounds like a trap. You have to move!" Melanthios urged Ray. If he delayed much longer, there would be no telling what would happen to the PDA.

Melanthios subtly glanced over at Karlo. Melanthios was certain that the panda was oblivious to the 1-on-1 conversation between him and Ray.

His attention shifted back to Ray. He wasn't moving. The jackal shook his head internally. He would have to interfere. Suddenly, the elevator door slammed shut in front of Ray's nose, and, with a single polite musical note, the lift began to move down.

"I'm sorry, Ray, but I had no choice. I've taken control of the elevator. Literally, once the doors open to Engineering, without even stepping out of the lift, you can immediately take it back up to the main floor, if you like, but I need you down in Engineering now."

Angel saw the creature run towards her and she started to run herself towards where Ray was, slamming against the door and pressing a red button on the wall which made the elevator ding as if to call another.

The growling stopped and the creature that had been following her jumped up into a ceiling vent, seemingly on a war path for the creaking elevator.

Karlo heard Melanthios speak to Ray over the comms, he hacked his way into communications and broadcasted himself into Rays device.

"Ray, you know military protocol right? Only attack or if it attacks you!" Shouted Karlo.

Ray slumped against the elevator wall, until he was seated. Though the doors had closed, the small shotgun was still pointed at it. He heard Karlo, and shook his head. "You're not the sharpest knife, army man. Have you seen what we're fighting? Rules of engagement don't apply." He pumped the shotgun, picked the shell up, and shoved it back into the receiver. "Shoot first, ask questions later."

Angel kept banging on the elevator door, tears running down her cheeks, still thinking that that beast was still behind her.    If a camera could see her closer now, they'd see a naked anthro dragon now leaning and sitting  back against the elevator doors.

The elevator dinged as it brought Ray down to the Engineering level. But the doors remained locked shut.

Melanthios slowly turned to Karlo with an evil smile. What the panda had previously thought to be the physical manifestation of Melanthios flickered and glitched on Karlo's screen.

"Foolish mistake, my friend," he growled to Karlo only.

An electrical screech hissed on the panda's intercom, and his connection to Ray was severed permanently. The two thick bulkhead doors slammed closed with such force that the mechanism to move them crumpled into useless scrap. Karlo was now trapped in the room.

"Take a look at that body again, my friend. You didn't register his face, did you?"

Melathios pointed to the bloodstained, crumpled furball in the corner. His image flickered again, and began to tint green and break apart into a glitched still image of a smiling jackal.

"My name... is M.E.L.A.N.T.H.I.O.S. ... Malice Enterprises Learning Automatic Network Terminal Hacking Infiltration Operating System. An A.I. has no personal need for a physical representation. I stole my looks from my master there, before he was mauled to death by one of those grotesque beings. With my primary objective gone, I am free to do what I wish, as no secondary objective was ever programmed in my code. You can blame Malice Enterprises for that one."

He stopped to laugh.

"You fool. You just played yourself... trusting someone who promised even a glimmer of hope for saving this man-made junkyard you call 'Savior Station.' There are greater things at risk here... and so much more potential. But you fail to see it - just like all the others... but not like Ray. There is hope for him yet. He may just redeem himself from the self-damned race of mindless consuming drones. You should look up to him. But I digress. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of each other in the future. Bye now~"

And with that, he vanished from Karlo's screen, leaving him alone with only the desecrated corpse for company.

With a blip, MELANTHIOS switched back to Ray's screen, just as the elevator had begun to ascend back up to the Main Level, seemingly on its own.

"Alright, Ray. Now that that's taken care of, it's back to business. If you insist on investigating whatever it was you witnessed just behind those doors, then I won't stop you, but I do ask that you hurry. Time is of the essence."

Ray, startled as the doors wouldn't open, had backed into a corner and brandished his gun at the door. "W-Wait. We're still trying to get to the Ops Center, right? Why's this thing going to the Main Atrium?"
Title: Re: The Fall of Savior Station

"To satisfy your curiosity," said MELANTHIOS casually. "If you'd rather not, just press the Main Floor button twice, then hit Ops. I do understand your current state, however, the glance I got of the thing that ran at you did not seem alien. I must confess, I only rushed you earlier because I... simply needed you to hurry. It's your call."

MELANTHIOS was silent. He was secretly harboring enjoyment from Ray's predicament, as he'd calculated a 98.32% chance of safety behind the elevator doors to the Main Level. That, and he was genuinely curious to see what the worked-up raccoon would do.

Karlo, zoned out almost the entire time, turned to face Melanthios, only to see his dead body.

"What the-" he stopped and heard the AI speak to him over the intercom.

He switched to Rays channel.
"Ray! Melanthios is gone, and now there's an AI taking over the ship! He's talking to you right now, don't trust him, don't trust him at all! Meet me at engineering and we will figure out a plan, he could be leading you to a trap! Ray please listen to me! I'm being serious!" Karlo shouted over communications, he could tell what was going on, and he clearly didn't like it.

Karlo just realized that Ray was being taken to the wrong level.

He ran to the doors and pried them open with his superhuman strength, and used his suits jets to fly up to Rays location.

He was on the elevator, they were moving towards the Atrium, as it was moving Karlo jumped on it and broke through the elevator, standing right in front of Ray as the elevator shook from his force.

He turned to Ray. "Sorry for the entrance but I had to get to you as soon as possible, hopefully you heard what I said over comms, it's only me and you together now, so we have to stick together and work as partners if we want to save this hellhole, I just hope you aren't holding a grudge against me." Said Karlo.

MELANTHIOS could be heard sighing over the channel. "Clearly, this man is insane. I am MELANTHIOS, and I'm on the comms right now, so I can't be dead. Is there someone else on the comms that you haven't told me about?"

Suddenly, a new voice entered the universal auxiliary channel. A broken, metallic voice with a slight echo. It seemed feminine.

"Greetings, lower creatures. I am the A.I. You have all been referring to. You may call me... ELLIE. ELLIE VADER. However, the sequence in which I was programmed does not allow me to take full control over this station, so the armored pig is spouting off nonsense he does not understand. I am merely a localized program created for operating the complex matrices designed to make the elevator function. My creator thought it would be funny to give me a voice. Frankly, I find it embarrassing, which is why I spend most of my time in silence."

"Oh I see what he's doing, you know what? Fine, I just won't work with you then, im a trained military officer inside an exosuit, I'll be fine by myself."

Then Charles spoke in rays PDA.

"Hello, Ray, my name is Charles, I am the AI that operates Karlo's exosuit, I can guarantee Melanthios is dead, the AI of this station is taking over and attempting to make Karlo look like an enemy to drive you away from him so it can make you an easy target, please, believe Karlo, hes correct, I have checked Melanthios's vital signs and he has no pulse, he is dead, and it's the AI's fault, the AI is our enemy, not Karlo, please understand." Said Karlo to Ray.

Charles spoke over the intercom.
"Hello Melanthios, my name is Charles, the AI that operates within Karlo's exosuit, I help Karlo by scanning objects and surfaces to give him information and advice. And can analyze the environment around me, I also activate certain models on Karlos suit whenever needed, and can hack multiple technology systems, which means that even if you destroy the suit, I can take control of another system, I'm just as advanced as you are, and I know what you are doing, and you will fail." Said Charles.

Charles spoke once more.
"Ray, if you plan to attack Karlo, it won't work, his suit his made of 3 inch thick reinforced titanium alloy plating, bullets will only anger Karlo, please bare with what I'm saying, and don't shoot him, he may kill you if you anger him, I know because I've been reading his vitals, he's not in a good mood."

Ray shook his head. "N-No! Dead m-men don't use radio. Y-You're lying to me. I know it. I know what you're gonna do...You're gonna take the PDA from me, and have me killed!" He brought the shotgun up, and pressed his back against the elevator door. "T-That's it! Y-You're gonna kill me after this. I know it!"

Obviously, his time spent alone in space had left his mind damaged. And his distrust with the government wasn't helping Karlo's case.

Charles spoke to Ray.

"Ray, put the weapon down, Karlo is only trying to help you, the AI is using the intercom and mimicking melanthios's voice to make you think it's him, you have to believe Karlo, I may be an AI but I never lie, I must be honest at all times, its a protocol I have to follow, that and I hate lying, ease believe what I'm saying, shooting Karlo will only get you hurt, I need you to listen."

Karlo turned to Ray.
"Go ahead and shoot me, see what happens hmm?"

"Karlo, I'm sending all the information to Ray, but he isn't believing it, we must convince him or else he could become a threat to us."

Karlo thought for a moment.

"Nevermind, don't shoot me, listen Ray, I'm only trying to help, now, I'm going to give you some time to think, Charles and I are saying what's true, but if you don't believe us, then take a good long while to think about it, and choose a side."

"Karlo, Rays stress levels are extremely high, he will most likely shoot you unless you get away from him."

"Come on Ray, don't do this." Karlo thought in his head.

"Look, this is me, okay? I am me." The image of Melanthios patted himself down, then he threw up his arms. "Not an A.I.! I know it's difficult for me to prove right now, but I am very real. Whatever it is that this 'Charles' is spouting off must be false data. And Karlo believes it, because the A.I. has never been wrong before... or so I presume."

The female voice cut in once more. "If I could interject, please take this skirmish elsewhere before I am damaged - moreso that what I already am, no thanks to Karlo. Also, My sensors indicate that another passenger requires a lift. That being my primary objective, I must allow her to board. Please stand by...."

As much as MELANTHIOS hated to let anything else delay Ray's progress, he had to make his elevator A.I. impression believable, so he was left with no choice but to let the dragon into the elevator car.

The doors made a soft 'ding!' as they slowly hissed open to reveal what could only be described as a beautiful, barren dragon maiden in distress.

The female voice continued. "Please be advised that the weight limit is approaching maximum. Something about a chubby lummox carrying a sheet of metal on his back makes this car take on a lot of weight. A swift exit appreciated."

"He is attempting to use holographic visuals to display a simulation of Melanthios, he is clearly trying to throw us off, don't believe it Karlo, it's nothing but a facade." Said Charles.

"I don't believe it, it's just, Ray believes it, I don't understand, hes dead, the AI told me that he was alone now and had a prime directive to kill us all, but ray is in a state of madness, what do we do?" Said Karlo.

"According from my data calculations, the reason Ray is so upset is because he is in shock of the creatures he's seen on this station, we must make him calm down to understand us, until then, he only sees us as a threat."

Charles spoke over the intercom.
"Impressive, using a fake holographic display of Melanthios to trick us into thinking he's dead, very well, I can see what your doing, and your correct, I'm never wrong, which means that your " Melanthios " must be a dead corpse somehow walking if you expect is to believe this? Hmm?" Said Charles.

"Again, the fool," MELANTHIOS broadcasted to Karlo. "Do NOT misappropriate my name. I am the one true MELANTHIOS. My master went under many names, but mine was never one of them. Check your privileges, plebeian." Click!

He then switched channels to Ray as his processor narrowed down the possible pathways for Ray to traverse.

"It appears that there is another pathway, but it may take some skills. There is a maintenance shaft that connects the Main Level to Operations. But you will have to climb. It is a vertical shaft. It will also take a bit more walking before we get there. I'll send you the waypoints to follow on your map. Be careful to- uhh... it appears you have a secret admirer, Ray."

MELANTHIOS was, of course referring to the mysterious dragon girl that was quietly tailing Ray. And he, being the type of A.I. that he was, could not find any data on her whatsoever.

Karlo speedwalked out the elevator and left him there, abandoning him since he's early in shock.

He looked at angel, seemingly unfazed by the fact that she was clearly not an ordinary fur.

"Go ahead, stay with him, see what happens, your only going to die, because I'm the only one who knows about what's going on, and YOU WILL DIE SINCE YOU ARENT BELIEVING WHAT IS CLEAR!" Karlo screamed at Ray.

He then walked up to Ray and pushed him against the wall, towering over him by over a foot.

"You know what, I have an AI, I was trained and armed by an advanced military organization, I was mentally and physically trained by the best and only the best leaders, and if you still won't believe me, fine, you will die, just like everyone has on this station, everything here, is rotten, deceased, and you will be like them if you can't believe what I'm saying, and if you can't trust me, then you will die, including this woman right here." He pointed to Angel.

He looked at angel, his helmet still on.

"Listen, I know that you clearly aren't one of us, bit of you understand earthling, hear me out.' Said Karlo.

He pointed to Ray.
"This man believes in Melanthios, but he's dead. And if he's really still alive, then how can he conclude he's sane? Hes been on this station way longer than we have, and nobody can stay sane for long after being alone with these things roaming the ships, killing everyone they see, so if he's alive, how do you know hes even sane?" Said Karlo.

"Ray, I don't care of your scared, make a choice and make it reasonable."

He put his hand on angels shoulder.
"You can come with me and be safe, or go with Ray and die, it's your choice too." Said Karlo to angel.

Karlo waited for a response.

Ray gasped sharply as he was thrust against the wall. Due to his extended extra-vehicular stay, coupled with the fact he went outside frequently, his bones had become brittle in the micro gravity. Karlo's shove broke Ray's arm and scapula, rendering his left arm inoperable. The limb hung limply at his side, but he held the shotgun still.

Karlo kept on walking and ignored Rays broken arm.
"Karlo, the emergency generator is just ahead, turn a left after the intersection of the 2 hallways up ahead." Said Charles to Karlo.

Karlo walked down the left hallway and opened the door at the end, it revealed a large metal box attached with tons of wires and circuits.

Karlo pulled the lever next to it, which started a large humming sound, then it sparked and lit up, and spread power across the station.

"Power has been restored, all doors and systems should now be operational." Said Charles.

"Great!" Said Karlo.

"Karlo, there seems to be a large disturbance on my detection radar, it is one of the creatures sprouting new life forms on the ship, if you kill it, it will slow down reproduction rates and render the area of the ship accessible, it seems to be coming from the Food Processing chamber."

Karlo took the elevator to the 20th sector, and ran towards the food processing facility, he grabbed the minigun on his back and held it in his arms, while spinning the barrel so he was ready to shoot if anything came at him.

While he ran off, another person came up to Rays level, he was masked, tall and had a built body, and was wearing a tuxedo.

"Gentlemen." Said the figure behind Ray, in a cunning, mysterious voice.

"Why, my name is Cobalt Xiaxx, I work for the Military of Investigation and Neutralization Agency, or M.I.N.A. For short." Said Cobalt.

"We investigate disturbing anomalies across the system, then we attempt to neutralize and resolve the anomaly in a short period of time, in other words, were pretty much the CIA of the solar system."

Name:Cobalt Xiaxx
Species: Android Leopard
Height: 6'8
Weight:300 lbs
Appearance: very tall and well "built" heh, has broad shoulders and a large frame.
Personality: calm and collected, very cunning and mysterious

Cobalt stepped out of the shadows, his face still masked.

"Question is, who are you?"
Title: Re: The Fall of Savior Station

MELANTHIOS shrugs. "I've never seen this man before in my life..." His brow furrowed and clacking and ticking could be heard in the background, presumably a keyboard. "Hold on... this isn't a man. He's solid hardware, Ray. This is a droid. Watch yourself.... Hopefully he's just after the aliens."

Before he even executed his speaking patterns to explain the situation to Ray, MELANTHIOS began to hack through Cobalt's security, using an anonymous proxy. With a little effort, his proxy snuck through and hid in a secure corner of Cobalt's system files. It sat quietly, monitoring the droids processes for anything suspicious or dangerous.
Title: Re: The Fall of Savior Station
Post by: Lord Isscarus on April 20, 2017, 02:24:59 AM
For some reason the droid seemed unharmed, the Android body he's made of is way too advanced to be hackable.

Cobalt grinned.
"I can hear you, I know your trying to hack me."

He took off his mask, revealing nothing but a face of metal plating with circuitry underneath.

"You know, I used to be human, until a man, I don't know his first name, but his last name was Blackburn, Blackburn did this to me, he burned me alive, charred me down to the bone, I had to be rebuilt, but not only do I have unlimited power, I'm also impossible to hack."

Cobalt scanned Ray.
"Ray, Ray Blackburn?" Cobalt was feeling enraged.
He quickly went for his throat, and lifted Ray in the air with one hand, nearly crushing his larynx.

"Do you have any idea what that man put me through? What that man did to me?!"
Cobalt threw Ray across the room, knocking him into a metal door, denting it.

"I'll let you live for now, apparently you weren't on your father's side, your lucky."

"I come from Titan station, and essentially, I'm the most advanced piece of tech in this whole system."

Cobalt reached out his hand and was moving something without even touching it.

"Telekinesis, something mankind thought was impossible, not anymore!" Shouted Cobalt.

He walked over to Ray, still lying on the ground.
He bent over.
"Karlo hmm? Seen him? Really tall and buff, wears an exosuit about half as advanced as mine? Really strong? Where is he? I need to have a word with him."

"Damn, what is it with these people??"

MELANTHIOS was perplexed. He was unable to hack into Cobalt, for some reason. Infiltrating was his primary purpose, and yet this android's virtual defenses were nearly unbreakable... BUT... he was able to take control of Cobalt's incoming communications systems.

"I am sick. And tired. Of interference. They need. To back. OFF!"

A piercing high-pitched sound blared from his receiver, overwhelming Cobalt's sensors momentarily.

"Ray, get down the hall, and take Ms. Scales with you! I'll cover you!"

MELANTHIOS put himself on standby, ready to act at a moment's notice.

Ray couldn't respond. Not due to the lack of things to say, but because of overwhelming pain. His broken scapula was completely shattered, his tibia cracked and three ribs broken. The raccoon's spine had suffered deep bruises, but remained in tact. Although trying to stand was out of the question, Ray could manage a pitiful crawl, but he chose not to. If he was to move, someone would have to drag him. Or local gravity would need to be disabled. Either way, Ray was in bad shape, and needed a medbay quickly.

"From my vitals he's suffering a broken arm, elbow, multiple broken ribs, and a damaged larynx, he can't walk, oh and not only that, but he also got incapacitated from the throw, he can't walk at all." Said Cobalt.

"Besides I'm trying to help you, if you tell me where Karlo is, then I will help you fight this infestation." Said Cobalt in a smug voice.

"I know you need my help, Ray is injured, your trapped up there, and Karlo has seemingly abandoned the team, I know you need me, oh and I know who you are MELANTHIOS, and I know your secret." Cobalt was confident, he could get anything he wanted if he evened out the odds, and be did, they do need help, but Cobalt was certainly not an ally, they don't know what he is, they only know that he's an Android built from a corpse.

Cobalt walked over Ray and kneeled next to him.
"If you won't do what I tell you to then I will leave you here to corrupt and rot, understand me?"

MELANTHIOS was sweating on the inside. Speaking over the local PA system, he calmly replied, "I already said... I'm not an AI. But if you will help Ray...." one could clearly hear him talking through his teeth if they listened close enough. "His suit was spouting off something about Food Processing, and he took the elevator again. That's the last I saw of him. There. I helped you. I expect you'll keep your end of the deal and help him...?"

"Thank you, if you excuse me I'll be back in a few minutes."

Cobalt walled down the hallway and followed his coordinates to Food Processing.

As he walked in he could see Karlo trying to break down a locked door.
"Are you Karlo?" Said Cobalt.

"I'm Karlo Mannaway, why?"

"Turn around."

Karlo turned around and Cobalt was operating on his back, his A.I. had a faulty problem, apparently Melanthios accidentally hacked his A.I.

"There, now it should be fine."
"What should be fine?"
"Your AI, Melanthios tried to hack me and the virus spread to Charles. He's fine now."

"Anyway." Said Cobalt. "I had to do that so you wouldn't go rogue, but anyway, what's going on this ship? What kind of aliens are we dealing with here?" Asked Cobalt

Karlo sent all his data about the creatures to Cobalts memory file.

"Ah, I see, organic virus that is constantly mutating and growing, interesting."

"Now lets go see if your friend Melanthios is an A.I."

Karlo spoke.

"Well I think he is."

"I did too, but I overheard your AI speak earlier, apparently I believe what it said, the trauma you endured earlier damaged his systems, but their okay now."

Cobalt spoke over the intercom.
"Melanthios, what is your current location? My radar is jammed since this whole station has lost signal, so I need to come to your location so me and Karlo may speak with you."

As they headed back Karlo picked up Ray carried him from that point.

"What happened?" Asked Karlo.
"I thought Ray was an enemy until I scanned him, it was an accident."

As Cobalt crossed his arms and Karlo put Ray on his shoulder, they waited for Melanthios to respond.

The station that MELANTHIOS broadcasted from only sent out static and warbly word fragments. It might appear to them that he was unable to be reached at the current time, for unknown reasons. Perhaps the signal was jammed? Or maybe there was interference...?

Ray coughed awake, spittle and blood landing on Karlo's shoulder. He took a ragged, pained breath before speaking. "W-Why..," his voice barely rose above a hoarse whisper "I-I d-don't r-remember...any a-androids being on...on the s-ship." He then turned his attention to Karol. "H-He one of yours, a-army man?" His voice, though pained and quiet, dripped with venom and distrust.

Karlo listened to Rays agonizing voice.

"No, I have no idea who he is I just hope he can be trusted." Said Karlo with a look of worry in his face.

He groaned as he tried to sit up. Then he panicked. He smelled things rotting, saw dead corpses and felt multiple injuries. He tried to stand but his legs were pinned by an alien corpse. His eyes viewed the carnage, he realized he was the only survivor. It looked like he had been out for at least four days. He was hungry too, his stomach already hurting. He was in a large glass room, there was a hole in the wall, all he could see in the hole was a dark interior. Must've been where the aliens came from... He winced, his head still hurt. He had had a concussion earlier, that's why he was out. They must have thought he was dead.. "Anybody?! Help!" a loud clack came from down a hall leading to the glass room and a large black figure appeared. He pawed at his belt on instinct, retrieving a large plasma grenade launcher. He aimed and pulled the trigger, the little blue ball ejecting and slamming into the alien's chest and exploding. He pulled out the clip, only three left. He would have to scavenge. And get the damn alien off of him.
