Title: How to give us more information
Post by: anoni on January 20, 2017, 01:09:53 AM
So a lot of people have been reporting bugs, one of the most annoying aspects of dealing with a bug is trying to find out why it occurred but there is a way you can help us! Turns out browsers such as Google chrome, internet explorer, edge and Mozilla Firefox all have browser debugging tools that gives us information about what script is causing the bug, or if there's anything wrong.

When you see a bug on the site, you can do the following to get this information

Warnings (things written in yellow) aren't so much of a problem so they can be ignored. You can post the entire console details if you'd like but be careful as they may contain personal information, so I'd look through the console before you post it!

There's a ton of things you can do with this tool as well, for example if you see a part of the site that looks messed up, you can go to the Elements tab (on Chrome) or the DOM tab (on IE, Edge) (not sure what the tab is called on Firefox) and click the button on the top left that looks like a box with an arrow pointing towards its center. When you click on this box you can now click anywhere in the site to see the HTML of that location, this can be useful as it posting the HTML may tell us of any broken links or confusing things that have occurred.

So learn to use the browser debugging tools or just follow the instructions above to give us some more information on little forum bugs here and there
