Post by: Ventus Fall on January 16, 2017, 12:23:21 PM
Any furries here who are a fan of Doctor Who and looking forward to the new season starting in April? ^_^

PS: I chose a lamp message icon because it's blue, closest thing I could get to TARDIS :P

I know of Doctor Who the show but I didn't really watch it before.. I watched a bit of the crappy old black and white episodes :p

I have a friend of mine who is really hooked into Doctor Who.. He kinda showed me one of the new episodes and oh boy I liked it so much ^_^ .

I would love to watch more but I can't find the episodes anywhere :/ I would appreciate if someone can tell me where I can watch them (non piratted of course)

I don't live in the UK, but we get BBC One and BBC Two standard in the packages here. What about you?
They do also seem to post the episodes on their site, but when I tried a few years back it said you'd have to live in the UK to watch it. (ARGH.)

Ever watched the episode Flatline? :P
I would suggest you do if you can find it.

My girlfriend is a huge Doctor Who fan so she managed to get me interested pretty early on. We have undertaken the monstrous task of watching all of Doctor Who, and by all I do mean all. Right now we are in the third season of the William Hartnell episodes (the first doctor). It is pretty awesome stuff; early daleks always make me smile in that weird cheesy way.

The early episodes are a bit of a pain in some ways though. A lot of them are audio only because the film stock holding the visuals is lost entirely, meaning scenes had to be either reconstructed from other footage, or pictures had to be used to help convey the story with captions describing what is happening on screen. It requires dedication to sit through some of these, that's for sure, but the payoff's worth it.

Glad to hear, Halei-Helai and Bricket :)

As of which, some may already know, but the actor who plays Poirot (David Suchet) is going to play a role in the new DOctor Who series >3>

What also is known is that Capaldi is going to stop being the Doctor (at least he said that)

I think that's the contract for actors for the Doctor anyways. At least starting after Eccleston x3
Three seasons, that's it. Happened to Tennant and Smith prior too.
In other words: It didn't surprise me to hear pretty soon after they appointed Capaldi that he'd (most likely) stop after/at/during the third season. Be it voluntarily or by contract.

I do wonder why it's been taking a lot longer than other times to release the new season, though.
I know it sometimes takes a while when they're looking for a new Doctor actor, but tihs long? I don't recall...

I love the show!

As far as I know the actors of the doctor sign a 1-2 year contracts with extensions as Capaldi had a chance for a season less and a season more depending on fan feedback and income.

I stopped watching it when Clara became the Doctors Assistant. I think it became too serious and a bit boring really. I loved it tho I remember going to the department store as a kid and getting a new figurine every week. I collected stickers too. Tennant was my favourite doctor.
