Title: My Drawings
Post by: Ginger Ale on December 22, 2016, 05:11:55 AM
Hey, all.
I wanted to show you all my art. It's probably not the greatest, but that's alright. Just give advice when needed, I really would appreciate it.
Attached is a quick sketch of my fursona I did yesterday. I'll probably make another tomorrow, as I won't be doing anything else.

It's not bad. The trick to "getting better" is just sticking to it, no matter whaaat. Its a great place to start from, I see the shading and stuff.
If you want more precise shading, get a pencil set with varying softness/types n stuff. Its designed for that. Otherwise  you might not get too much variance in shade, but you seem to convey texture in a unique way.

tl;dr Cool stuff, stick to it and there are special pencils for varying levels of shading (I think).

I am so happy to see you drew something, Ginger Ale :D
I also like how it looks, well done. It shows emotion, a smirk and like 'angry eyes'. It shows 'character', if you know what I mean ;D

Have you tried practising drawing badgers/badger heads?
I'd say look into that and see what specific shapes and curves their heads have, see if you can apply that to your own drawing of your character and how it'll turn out :)

I kind of like how this turned out. It's not perfect, but I'm pretty proud of it. I made a few decisions on Fulvius' design here. Most notably, he is now an American Badger, not a Chamitataxus avitus. This I did for the sake of convenience and familiarity. American Badgers are pretty easily recognizable. He Also no longer has head hair. I did this because I thought it looked a bit weird for an animal to have human hair. Maybe I'll get over this in the future and he'll have hair again, idk.

For Whatever reason, Weasyl decided to make the photo sideways, and I was too lazy to fix it, sorry!

I shouldn't have used the same color for his markings as the color of the outlines.  :/

I didn't have any colored pencils for this one, but here's something I drew today, just a quick little headshot. I think I've gotten a better grasp of how to draw the head, and I've been working on a lot of gesture drawing lately, so I might do some more polished pieces soon.
