Companion board: https://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?topic=33530.new#new (https://www.thefurryforum.com/forums/index.php?topic=33530.new#new) post your characters there and view the lore there. Yes, the old companion board is doubling as the revival board, you can post new characters there though, just let everyone know so newcomers don't get confused.
Either way, have fun!

Lacar opens his eyes the sun light blinding him, his head aches as he sits up trying to move. He feels an extreme pain in his tail and left leg, he looks down to see a car laying on them. He sits up trying to remember what had happened, all that he can see is he was on a bridge then it fell.He looked around for something to get his leg and tail fin out. He was heading to the city for shelter hoping the large structures would be good protection. He picks up a metal rebar and tries to pry his leg out, he let's out a scream in pain then begins to hear growns from somewhere. He quickly kkeps trying to get out and as the moans got louder he began to scream for help"help, help me somebody I need help."
-
Raz was one of the closer people to the detonation site, and seemed to be the only survivor of that close area.
Raz slowly woke up, looking around him to see he had gotten smaller, much smaller, he then looked at his hand and let out a scream. It seems the sudden nuclear blast had mutated him... luckily it was something minor, from what he could tell anyway.
The little device that had been used on Raz to regulate his heart had merged to his body, the light on it pulsing in accordance to his heart beat.
Raz slowly got up, stumbling about as he got used to his new body.
A few hours of walking later left Raz hungry, and as he left the high rad zone, he came across a general store and went inside, looking for some food.
-
As lacar sat there h kept yelling for help as he tried to get his leg out when one of the mutated walk around the car. Lacar steamed even louder as the mutant walked closer two more coming around with it.
-
Raz heard the screaming and decided to go see what it was. He eventually came across a pile of rubble, and glowing creatures starting for the hole, he wanted to help, but didn't know how.
-
One of them lunged onto lacar as he holds the rebar up stabbing it through its head"help me somebody"
-
Raz looked around when the scream went out, and he found a mega phone from what looked like a political rally, and he turned it on, threw it far away, but close enough that it'd distract the mutated, long enough for Lacar to escape
-
The rest of them left but the last two still able to see lacar kept going for him, he struggled finally pulling his leg out but his tail was still stuck. He took the rebar like a spear and threw it at one of the mutated hitting it in the head which leaves one more and lacar with nothing to protect himself.
-
A second passes before there was a 'zip' of something fast going by, hitting the other mutated dead between the eyes to completely topple it. It takes another second before the echo of a gunshot was heard, indicating that there was some distance between Lacar and whoever made the shot, a gleam of something reflective could be seen from the direction of the source of the shot. It did not stay long before a figure moved away from the current high-ground atop one of the roof-tops, covering up the reflection source in the process.
-
Lacar quickly regain himself and once again tried to lift the vehicle off his tail as one more mutant still comes after him, he is thankful for the one leading the herd away with the sound and the person who shot the second mutant but he was still stuck and was barely able to lift the truck.
-
Raz saw his chance to try and help this person, and so he did, running down the 'hill' he was on, towards the mutated being, and latching onto it's head and driving it over to a pit, to which once it tripped, Raz managed to get a few flaps before he began to fall, but not into the hole, only to the ledge of it.
Raz laid their exhausted, then he remembered the injured man and went towards him, trying to see what he could do.
Lacar would see a glowing stone on Raz's chest, and Raz's eye colour was glowing too in whatever darkness was there...
-
Lacar at first thought he was another mutant until he noticed him helping"the car is on my tail and I think my legs broken"
-
Raz nodded and proceeded to the car, looking around until he saw a strong plank. Raz came back with the plank and shove a bit on it under the car and then began pushing the elevated side of the plank down to raise the car, allowing Lacar to get out.
-
Lacar crawls out from under the vehicle"thank you sir"his breathing was heavy, as he tried to stands he fell back to the ground graving his own leg.
-
The figure makes it to a closer roof-top to where the action was, a building with a barricaded entrance, then sets up a rappelling line before she makes herself visible to the others. "You two alright over there?" the female red-fox spoke as she unhooked herself from her rappelling line to go check on them. After seeing the shark get out from under the vehicle, she looks down at his legs and lets out a sigh. "Going to be hard getting from place-to-place like that. I have a base-camp up on the rooftops if you think you can climb."
-
Lacar looks at her"I can try my best but I can't make any promises." He tries to stand again using the piece of rebar he had as support.
-
She makes him sit down, setting one of her pistols from her thigh-holsters with a full-clip of ammo in his lap. "No, you're not going to try to climb if you can barely stand." she spoke in a near-command tone of voice, then she pulls off some rope from her back that she had in reserve, starting up in tying a barrel-sling to him. She then looks to the feral dragon, speaking towards him. "Since you look like you were trying to help out, mind going up to the top and start setting up the pulley for the other end of this?" she asks as she gave the other end to Razuel before clipping two Jumar ascenders to the rappelling rope she came down from.
-
Raz nodded and took the end of the rope and began making his way to the building, but as he looked up at the looming structure, he thought to himself, 'Why the hell.. I don't even know how to fly.... I gues this is a good time then any'.
Raz made a jumping stance and jumped up, clutching onto the side of the building and using his wings to keep jumping up this building.
From below, it would seem that Raz had trouble flying... this may need to change later.
-
Lacar twitched a little at the sight of the gun"why are you helping me"he tilted his head towards the female.
-
"The last mission..." she spoke as she made sure he was fully secure, checking the hold of the hitch before she gets to the ascenders. "...was to survive. I see groups surviving better than individuals." she added as she started to climb back up the building. Once the vixen was all the way back up, she looked to the feral dragon, going over to the pulley-rig she had put up for hauling supplies and slipped the rope through, then she started to pull him upward with it. "Getting my workout for today. If only the Lieutenant could see me now." she thought out-loud as she was pulling the shark by using the ascenders now.
-
Raz wanted to say, "Lieutenant?", but instead his words came out as a questioning grunt, then as he realized what was going on with him, he began to panic, everything he was trying to say in his panic was just coming out as grunts, whines, and all of the above, himself making alot of noise in this sense.
-
I wince a little at the pain but try to restrain from moving to make it easier to pull me up.
-
"Ah, right..." she thought out-loud as she kept hoisting up the shark by using the ascenders. Once he was up, she pulled him onto the rooftop and set him on the ground, looking to the panicked dragon. "Calm down over there, nothing to get excitable about." she called out to him while she set the shark on the floor so she could check to see what she had in her first aid kit.
-
Lacar just lays there as he pulls his pant leg up to look at his leg, it is swollen and a little purple.
-
Raz looked at the fox and calmed himself down, sitting still, but his mind was still racing over what was going on
-
She pulled out a cold-chemical compress and some bandages from a kit she had, then she walks over to the shark. "Now that we have a moment, my name is Ruby Habeas. I was part of the reconnaissance team before everything went to crap-in-a-hand-basket. When it all hit, we were recalled home and disbanded, only given what supplies we had with us and told to survive in this world on our own." she started to speak to the both of them, catching notice that the feral dragon definitely understood her. While she was speaking, she had started up the chemical-reaction in the cold-pack she had and put a layer of cloth between it and the shark's leg, then she wrapped it up to it. She then grabs a sandbag from one of the edges of the building to give the shark a bit of a prop-up for the time being to reduce the swelling. "So far just some major bruising, this will reduce that enough for me to have a better check. If I need to, I can get a splint to hold it together, but we have to reduce that swelling first." she spoke as she went over to her stash of supplies, pulling out several canteens, handing one to the shark and pondering before she gets a pot out, pouring the full canteen in it before setting it in front of the dragon. "If we gauge our food, we should be okay for a few days, but I usually do a check around once a day. Also, all that noise you two made probably stirred up trouble below, so we're just going to have to stay out of sight for now."
-
Lacar takes a swig before looking to the fox"I'm lacar lacrest, I'm a police guard recruit"he takes another swig"I was stationed on the bridge to keep people from leaving or entering the city."he holds his hand out"its nice to meet you"then he looks to the dragon"and same to you as well"
-
She reaches down to shake the shark's hand, then she looks to the dragon. "Judging by how he is, he seems rather cooperative. Even able to understand me when I gave some orders." she spoke in a semi out-loud thought manner, though still talking with Lacar. "It's possible he may've been a sapient-dragon before."
-
Lacar twitched a little once again"yeah, it wouldn't matter what he was before, or you,or I that's really pointless now that the world is this"he laughs a little as he looks to the bridge."my whole team was on there, including my son and now look at it."he pauses for a moment"some fine job we did"
-
As Raz was finally able to relax, he realized that he never actually ate anything at that general store, to which he walked over to Ruby and tugged on her pant leg, his belly rumbling right after.
-
"I'll be looking for someone myself..." she spoke to Lacar, then she felt a tug at her leg and looked over to the dragon. "Fair enough, let's get something to eat." she added as she went over to her supplies and pulled out some dried meats, getting a large portion for the dragon due to his size and some for herself and for the shark. "Would be better if there were things to really 'hunt' for around here."
-
Raz looked at the meats, then to ruby, and then back to the meats, he lowered his snout and sniffed the meat, it smelt lovely to him, and he quickly went to eating.
-
Lacar took a bite of it slowly chewing"hmm, and who might that be"as lacar chew he looked over to razuel"rather hungry aren't you"
-
"Someone from my same division but from the R/D section. If anything he knows how to get in contact with the others if they're still alive." she spoke as she ate some for herself, glancing to the large dragon.
-
"Well,I'm all in I don't have anyone else to look for as of now"I look around at all your gear and equipment"how much ammo and weapons do you have"
-
She keeps him seated with one hand, picking up her pistol that she let him borrow and putting it back on her empty thigh-holster. "Just what I had left over from my last mission and extra food supplies that was given to me before the disbanding happened." she spoke as she secured everything. "I let you have that so you wouldn't be defenseless while I was pulling you up. For right now, you're not going anywhere until we determine you can actually walk. I'll probably scout out the area and see about getting more food. The water-treatment-and-pump facility still works, so fresh-water is no problem yet."
-
"Well I can help with the weapons and food"lacar smiles as he twitches again"but you need to take me with you"he stands using the rebar he kept like a crutch.
-
She makes him sit back down. "You're no good in your condition. Keep that leg propped. We're not going anywhere for now. At the moment, we're safe on the rooftops, I've already set traps, barricades, and tripwire-devices to let us know if we're having visitors coming in through the building or through the fire-escapes." she added as she pointed to a few cans attached to strings. "They're crude, but they've kept me alive for a while."
-
Lacar twitches a little more"no I'm good I can move, there are some weapons not to far from here and even more plus food are back across the bridge"he gets ready to stand again as he twitches once more.
-
Raz stopped eating and walked to Lacar, placing a paw on his chest, gently trying to push him down .
-
For once, she forced him to sit back down, moving the rebar out of his reach. "Stop that. If you can't fully rappel or climb, you're defenseless." she spoke as she propped his legs back up and re-covered them with the cold-chem packs so that they would reduce in swelling. "Rest now and we'll see how you look tomorrow before we decide to get on the move."
-
"But I..."lacar twitches a little more radically"I want to help"his voice seems to change to a slightly deeper more angered tone"I need to help"
-
"I'm not going anywhere today. It's late and anything at ground-level is a lot more terrifying than those you've already faced. So take it easy and we'll see how you look when we wake up." she spoke. "You're somewhere safe for now, if you two can keep somewhat quiet, and you need to recover."
-
Lacar sighed as his twitching reduced"ok your right I guess I'll sleep"lacar layer back as he looked to raz sitting next to him.
-
Ruby ponders for a moment then she gets up and pets the feral dragon in a calming manner before she puts a blanket over the shark's legs. "I'll take first watch near the 'alarm'. If you want me to, I'll move it closer to you both when it's your turn." she spoke as she made sure it was all secure. "So far I've not seen any of the mutated take up to climbing the sides of the buildings yet, but if I can help it, I won't take any chances. If something happens, I'll let you both know some way."
-
Despite Raz's small size, he tried to curl around Lacar for comfort by curling around his upper-half and nuzzling his side as he dozed off to sleep.
-
Lacar just watched raz then smirked"yeah that should be fine, and thanks for the help"he smiled at her then placed his hand on raz.
-
Raz murred and nuzzled into Lacar's hand before drifting off to sleep.
-
She kept watch for about six hours, the night being quiet and easy to tell if there were to be any movement near them, so she gets up and heads over to Lacar, lightly touching his shoulder. "Hey, your turn for watch." she spoke as she lightly shook him.
-
Lacar awoke slowly then looked to rav wrapped around him"ok gig me a sec"lacar slowly picked up raz and layer him down as lacar stood"can I have that rebar back please, it helps me move you know"
-
A faint drone echoes through the sky. Then, as suddenly as the sound began, it turns to a loud crack, whipping through the sky, drowning out everything else. A low flying, unmarked blackhawk shoots past, just above the group and into the distance. The noise fades out
-
"What the hell"lacrest watched as it faded into the distance"did you see that"he asked
-
She was not far from zonking out herself when it happened, her reaction being in grabbing her rifle and looking to the direction that made the noise, but she did not get a good chance to see it with her scope. "Whatever that was, it was too fast for me to get a shot off at it." she grumbled. "Sounded like an aircraft going Mach 1, but that acceleration was too quick."
-
Raz slid off of Lacar and went to Ruby and curled up on her lap.
-
"Should we try to follow it, they could have something"
-
Ruby shifted the dragon off of her lap. "You are definitely not a light-sleeper." she spoke to the dragon before she looked to Lacar. "I'd rather not... and that type of noise could've drawn attention or woke-up anything that was asleep." she spoke, grumbling a bit as she went to check their current supplies in her base-camp.
-
"Couldn't that draw unwanted attention to us"I shuffle over to raz"like other survivors or the mutants"
-
"While it could have, we can't take the risk until you're fully able to move." the vixen spoke as she started looking about the area to ensure everything was secure, including the trap-wires before yawning. "We're not really in any condition to get on the move. I would rather look into finding a bunker-type of shelter than here, but I know this is the safest point in the city so far."
-
"Couldn't that draw unwanted attention to us"I shuffle over to raz"like other survivors or the mutants"
Tried to make himself seem small when his mistakes were pointed out

Silverwind plodded down the cracked and battered surface of a road, winding its' way through the landscape. The blacktop, melted and hardened over and over under the harshness of the elements and battered by years of harsh weather, cracked under his hooves; glass melted into its' surface. Rusting and wrecked vehicles dotted the road; and buildings in various states of decay rose above gardens long returned to their natural wild state.
The horse adjusted the straps of the pack over his shoulders; he was on his way back from a job. He'd carried some medical supplies to a small settlement in the ruins of a town a couple over from his normal stomping grounds. Luckily he hadn't too much trouble; he'd been running the roads long enough to know to look out for bandits and where they were, and he had a few good hiding spots and caches of gear he'd managed to stow around to keep himself out of trouble.
In some ways, he liked this life a lot more than his old one. Sure, there were problems and things he missed; no cable TV, no new movies, no internet and no power worth a damn. Not to mention, not much in the way of running water, or amenities... but it had its' upsides. Before the bombs fell, he was living in the red zone; he'd been about to be evicted and have his electricity and water cut off. He was working a crappy job where his boss gave him hassle, and lived in a crappy part of town.
Now, there was nobody chasing him for money, and his job was useful - he carried things from place to place, and was able to be pretty flexible on when and where he did it. Sure, there were added dangers - monsters, bandits, radiation and terrifying weather were only some of the things to worry about, but with preparation they could be dealt with.
In some ways, yes, this world almost suited him better. Though; he wasn't so keen on some aspects of it.
Taking another pause to sip at water from the canteen on his belt, the equine looked ahead at the city buildings, his ears twitching. That's odd, he thought as he frowned. I'm sure I heard a gunshot just now-
His train of thought was cut off as he heard a sound he'd never expected to hear again. Ears swivelling further, he quickly looked up, scanning the skies from horizon to horizon. Because, unbelievably, he heard the thudding of helicopter rotors, and the whine of engines.
"What the hell?" he uttered as he watched in disbelief. Unmistakably, it was a Blackhawk. He recognized the type from news reports, and seeing them on exercises and manoeuvers before the war. It crossed, low and fast, approaching from the horizon and heading over the city.
Before he could reall register it, it was gone. But the horses' curiousity was peaked. If someone had aircraft, he wanted to know who they were. Was it the government? If not, who was it, and what were they up to?
Making a decision, he headed in the direction the helicopter had been moving in, heading toward the city and its' high-rising buildings. Every so often, he turned his eyes skyward, still trying to work out if maybe he'd imagined it. All the same, he kept moving in the same direction, until the buildings began to rise around him. Grimacing, he began to look around cautiously.
He tried to avoid the big cities; they were hives for the most dangerous creatures and hostile forces. But in this case, going around would be too time-consuming. Instead, he shifted his SMG around on its' sling and began to move forward with it held in both hands, setting each hoof down carefully as he went to avoid making too much noise.
-
Fable scurried out of the hiding place ze was in after the loud cracking noised pieced the sky. Fable looked around with no idea what had made the sound, but only knew it couldn't be good whatever it was. cautiously Fable stepped back out onto the street shouldering the small bag of scavenged parts. ze kept low to the group hoping to not be seen.
There was no natural camouflage here for the amethyst colored leopard Gecko, but at least there were plenty of places to hide along the holes in surrounding building walls and within the wrecked cars that littered the streets.
As Fable walked ze happened to glance behind and saw someone, someone quite large, coming up the street. Quickly Fable dove into the shadow of a wrecked car and hoped to remain unnoticed.
-
After only a few minutes of silence the sound was back. The helicopter flew across the buildings and survivors again, this time however it was headed back to where it came from
-
She looks up and sits down as she hears the helicopter fly over once more. "Night-ops? Seems a bit odd to be running that if resources have gone scarce." she thought out-loud as she was settling in for some sleep, taking off her rifle and pistols to set them next to herself.
-
Lacar shuffled to the edge of the building viewing the streets below"ok then, just get some sleep"he sits his legs hanging over the edge.
-
Silverwind shifted in the street. Something had caught his eye a moment, something small that had moved. He was sure he'd seen something from the corner of his eye, peripheral vision being more acute than direct vision, he was sure he'd seen something.
Before he could get too much of a better look though, his attention was distracted again as the helicopter returned, the chatter of its' rotors again splitting the skies. He searched the skies again, trying to catch a glimpse-
There! He saw the aircraft cross the horizon again, catching glimpses between the ruined buildings, before it passed directly overhead, retracing its' previous course. Where had it been, what was it doing? He grimaced and looked in the direction of flight.
His attention was still roused, and he wanted to find out more about where it had come from. As the noise faded away, he turned to face the direction of flight-
And stopped. He could, if he pricked his ears, hear voices. Someone else was nearby!
-
Fable holds their breath waiting nervously, watching the hooves only a little ways away, Ze waits and is thankful that the person seems distracted by whatever that noise was. Fable hopes the hooved person will follow it so Fable can scurry on.
-
Lacar watches the streets closely " Damn I wish I still had my glasses, hey little guy come here" gestures raz to come to him"I need your help, you probably see better than me.
-
Raz had been asleep for a while, but woke up when Lacar called for him. He got up and walked towards Lacar, and then he sat down beside Lacar, tilting his head with confusion.
-
"Hey little guy" crouches down"my eye sight isn't what it use to be so I was wondering if you could help me watch, in case you see something I can't"
-
Raz nodded and gave a yawn, looking about the horizon for something out of place or moving.
-
Lacar picked raz up and put him on his shoulders"there you go"
-
Raz made a squeaking sound as he was picked up, but secured himself by wrapping his tail around Lacar's waist for balance.
-
"Sorry didn't mean to startle you"he looked around feeling like he would find something
-
Lacar quickly became bored of sitting there so he decided to start tossing pebbles off the edge, he wanted to see how many cars he could hit.He chucked a pebble towards the car fable was hiding at not knowing she were there.
-
Ruby startles awake and looks around with a tightened grip on her rifle and one of her pistols as she hears a car alarm going off due to the pebble hitting a car. "...you had to set that off, didn't you? No chance yet in sleeping if you're going to keep me awake." she grumbles as she gets up, stretching.
-
"Oh I'm sorry I didn't think there alarms still worked"Lacar sighed as he looked up at raz
-
Raz was clutching onto Lacar as the sudden sound scared him
-
"Hey I'm sorry" I scratch his side"didn't mean to alarm either of you"
-
The alarm was defining over Fables head. Fable hoped it would stop and that ze could remain hidden but the sound was making Fable feel quite ill as it rang out. down onto all four Fable fell and bolted out from under the car not caring about the hooved creature but knowing ze needed to get away from the car. This kind of noise would attract all manner of undesirable things.
Fable bolted up the street trying to see another hiding space anywhere that ze could take shelter.
-
Due to the ill-upkeep of the vehicle, the alarm was short-lived and Ruby sat back down, this time taking up a spotter's position so she could look around with her sniper scope. "Be on the look-out. That noise may've attracted attention." she spoke to the other two.
-
Lacar sat back on the ledge with razuel" yes ma'am" Lacar looked out over the streets" see any buddy" he asks looking up at the dragon on his shoulders.
-
At that moment, loud cracks echoed the streets, gunshots sounded, they were a distance away, they lasted no longer than 30 seconds before they went silent
-
She cursed under her breath at hearing the gunshots and the sudden silence, looking about the general-direction of the action. Ruby was trying to keep a broader focus to make sure she didn't miss anything, only peering through the scope if there were minute details she couldn't make out from this distance as she saw something small bolt across the ground. "...how're your legs, Lacar? Think you're up for climbing and running?"
-
Lacar stands up startled by the noise"I can damn well try"he grabs the rebar. "So You just gonna ride there or go on your own" he says looking at razuel on his back.
-
Raz gave a slight squeeze to Lacar's back, basically saying he was going to stay on his back.
-
She sees this reaction from the dragon and lets out a sigh. "Lacar, you might want to stay here then. Keep your eyes peeled for anyone or anything down below. And as for you..." she spoke to the dragon. "It's hard enough for him to move with you clinging to his back."
-
Raz's face turned to the look of disappointment ad he slowly climbed off Lacar's back, making a thud as he hit the ground before stepping back and sitting down.
-
"Sorry maybe when my leg gets better ok"I smile at him as I walk over"ready to go"
-
When the gun shots sounded Fable froze for a moment trying to figure out which direction it was all coming from. Ze looked back and forth many times trying to decide but couldn't quite tell. Ze decided it might be safer to try and walk through the shadows for a while and keep an eye out from anything moving. Of course with Fables small stature ze didn't often look up high enough to see the movement above of others on the roof.
Fable crept closer to the side of the buildings hoping if anyone did come through Fable would have enough time to hide. Fable hugged their bag close to their chest, heart still racing from these past few minutes of noise and panic.
-
"What no, I'm perfectly fine." He takes a few steps forward"I ain't staying here."
-
Ruby makes Lacar sit down. "If you can't run, you're not coming down. I'm not going to end up doing a fireman's carry on you if we have to retreat and right now this base-location is your best bet for safety." she spoke before going over to the edge with her rappelling equipment at the ready, slinging some rope down.
-
While walking through the shadows of the building Fable truly wished ze had better hearing. Fable was straining to hear any evidence of the gun shots- or more importantly who ever was shooting.
The desire to get back to their little safe house was strong. This adventure for supplies was turning out to be way more risky then ze was comfortable with!
-
"Think about it, if I go with you you can have an extra hand and if we do need to run I'll just stay back and distract" I limp forward"I'll be fine just let me go with you"
-
"Look, you're alive and you're more useful to anyone if you stay that way. Your friend there wouldn't appreciate me leaving you behind if things got dicey, so stick behind with him and keep him safe and calm." she spoke before getting down the line.
-
Raz limped over to Ruby and looked up at her, clearly wanting to go.
-
Lacar sighs before going back to sit down"come on, if she says no than that's it..." He gestures raz to come with him to sit.
-
Raz raised a paw slightly off the ground to look back at Lacar before padding at Ruby again
-
She makes her way to ground level, raising up her sniper-rifle and carefully looking about with both eyes as she sweeps through the area carefully and quietly so not to alert any of the creatures as she was still investigating the gunshot noises they had heard previously. "Too quiet now..." she grumbled to herself as she kept moving.
-
Raz looked back at Lacar to see if was still watching, which he was, do Raz lowered his head and went back to him.
-
"I'm sorry, I know you wanted to go." I try to think of a way to cheer him up"want back on my shoulders?" I say as I reach down to him
-
Raz looked up at Lacar with a smile on his face and he nods
-
I reach down lifting him up over my head before lowering him onto my back and shoulders
-
Fable is still walking along the wall of the building trying to keep an eye out for anything, their hearing wasn't great to begin with but Fables ears were still ringing from the car alarm. When Fable glanced behind ze saw someone walking around and froze, praying that if ze stood perfectly still ze would go unnoticed- there was no option of run. Fable knew if they ran the figure would see them.
-
"No more sounds of the warzone... there's got to be other survivors out there." she grumbled as she kept moving. "Trying to band together to even live in this desolate wasteland we call our world is not helping much. Then we have those... 'creatures' they call them."
-
(Has everyone given up on this rp? Pls say no)
-
I reach down lifting him up over my head before lowering him onto my back and shoulders
Raz made small short breath noises as he was lifted up and placed on Lacar's shoulders before making a happy sound as he was able to see further over things as opposed to when he could only see a few feet off the ground.
-
"Is that better"I smile up at him as I look over the streets to spot anyone
-
Raz nodded before coughing, his body spontaneously growing rather hot as he lost his grip on Lacar, slowly starting to fall back.
It seems Raz had contracted a fever, and a nasty one at that. In a dragling's younger years, they start to have a monumental fever at about 5 years old... but Raz had missed that time to have his, which had made his parents worry, and now he worried as a fever like this at his age could be fatal... he can pull through it, but he needs near constant water and something to keep him cool... this fever is not contagious, but for a little while, Raz's scales will feel like hot glass.
-
I turn to catch him, his hot scales burning my skin a little"oh no, are you ok boy"I carry him over to one of the sleepingspots and lay him on it.
-
Raz blinked lazily as he panted and whined as the heat was quite unbearable
-
I grabbed some water for him realizing how warm he was"here drink"I put the canteen to his mouth
-
Raz didn't want to move a muscle, but he tried his best to move and drink from the canteen, his gulps being more of small sips, Raz stopped drinking for a moment, intending to not drink anymore, but he needed more water, just like when one has a fever, to always consume water to sweat out the water.
Raz continued to whine and moan, his noises gently echoing through the concrete jungle, the cries sounding quite pained.
-
Fable looks up quickly hearing the echoed moans. Fable couldn't quite tell where it was coming from but worried it would be another of those creatures! Fables heart started to race as they glanced from the Fox back up to where Fable could hear the moans. If that was the sound of one of those creatures Fable knew they needed a better place to hide. Glances back at the not so far away fox. If they ran they would surely be seen. Fable had had a bad run in with survivors before and couldn't afford to get their supplies stolen again! Fable tried to very carefully and slowly back away but of course trying to walk backward without being able to see where you're stepping and with a large tail trailing behind you walking becomes much more of a challenge. Fable stumbles backward tripping over their large tail.
-
"Hey come on, drink some more you have to"I rub his forehead hoping it'd help soothe him.
-
Raz kept his mouth shut, shaking his head at drinking anymore. From the touch of his forehead, it would seem to get hotter, Raz needed water badly, and it seemed that he would need something to sooth his throat that wouldn't require him to swallow... maybe a numbing agent or a dry syrup medicine... possibly honey could work.
Raz continued to moan out into the sky.
-
Hearing the agony, she looked back to the base-camp, cursing under her breath before she rushed back to the rope and started to climb up it. "I know that wasn't Lacar and his messed-up leg, the only other one it could be would be that dragon. Need to find out what's going on or else the base-camp will attract more attention than whoever fired the shots from before." she grumbled under her breath as she shifted with each portion of the climb.
-
Raz continued to moan out into the sky, his eyes growing tired, but the pain was too much that he couldn't and refused to sleep, searing hot tears soon leaking out of his ducts, not affecting his scales as they were tuned to heat, but touching them would be like touching boiling water.
-
I place a damp rag on his head and give him some more water"shhhh, its ok" after a moment I dig around for pain killers.
-
The cloth would start to emit steam as it quickly grew warm on his head, but would not catch fire. Raz sputtered out most of the water, the rest gliding down his throat and as his mouth and throat were void of water again, he started to cry out again, his pitches in crying and moaning sounding like hurt or pain.
-
More gunshots rang through the city, though these were closer to the base-camp than before.
-
Fable quickly looked in the direction of the gunshots, That's the direction Fable was hoping to head for but with gunshots, Fable knew there was no way they would be able to get back to their little hideout. Fable looked up again hearing the echoing moans. Ze isn't sure where to go but needs to find a good shelter to hide away in for the time being... Fable isn't sure who all is at the top of the building but figures if things go badly with those encroaching gunshots it would be good to have other people to try and rely on. So Fable goes about trying to find a good place to hide somewhat close to the group on the roof.
-
I grabbed some pain killers and another wet rag with water"here take these and quiet down please" I look in the direction of the gun shots.
-
She makes her way back up the rope and to the top of the building, panting as she looked about and did a quick head-count before pulling the rope back up. "So what in tarnation is going on?" she asked as she saw the dragon laying on the ground being taken care of by Lacar.
-
Raz turned his mouth away from the pills, shaking his head, which made him cry out a bit more.
-
"I don't know, he just collapsed and started burning up."I try to give him the pills again"come on they'll help"
-
Raz exclaimed out again, this cry louder than the other few, as he eyed the pill, he opened his mouth, it being almost as red as his underside and emitting a heavy heat, accepting the pill... although crushing it might help
-
"Chew it then take a drink"I hold up some more water
-
Raz started chewing the pill, his face grimacing at the foul taste of the pill breaking inside his mouth before painfully swallowing.
-
"Ok now drink this to wash out the taste"I put a canteen of water to his lips.
-
Raz lightly sipped the water, feeling each grain of the pill dust run down his throat which made him shiver. After washing it all down, Raz felt some relief on his pain, and smiled at Lacar before quickly passing out as the pain was relieved enough for him to sleep. Raz slept soundly with a slight rasp in his breathing, and to the touch, he was still deftly hot, still needing some medication to keep his pain down.
-
I look back at the fox"ok I got him calmed down but he needs better meds"
-
"The nearest pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies were raided early on." she spoke as she rubbed her own head looking back out to the main of the city. "Those that you just gave him were all I was able to get from one raid."
-
I stand up"we need more or he won't make it"I step onto my bad leg and fall to one knee wincing.
-
"Look, you both are in NO condition to be going anywhere. If we try to move him, we're putting all of us at risk. I'll go have a look around again, but I cannot guarantee much other than bare-minimum from simple grocery stores and convenience stores possibly. Water is not in short supply up here though." she spoke as helped him up and sat him right next to the dragon. "Stay with him and try to keep him as comfortable and as quiet as possible."
-
I look over at the crumbling skyscrapers" what about the city, there are so many of those tings there no one will go to loot it, we could find more there"I think for a moment"I know the city well, I could get us around."
-
Fable found them self a little hideaway close to the building the Fox went up. They Didn't know how long they'd have to stay here until it was safe to travel again but luckily Fable had a bit of food with them. dried meal worms weren't fable's favorite but it was the only thing Fable could travel with that wouldn't spoil or need to be cooked. So Fable tried to relax, just a bit, and occasionally looked back up towards the rooftop where the fox and strange moans of pain had come from.
-
"That could easily be a day's worth of travel on foot." she spoke. "I've already tried to look for a running vehicle, but a lot of them were damaged or looted to the point there would be nothing salvageable. If we're going to move him, it will be dangerous on him and will be painful on you. If he's running a fever, we already have plenty of running water here as no one has damaged the water-line. I'm not going to leave without proper preparation though." she added as she took off water-bladder backpack and started to fill it. "I'll go searching for it, but I am going to stay within a day's travel. If I find something, I'm going to get what I can and bring it back, but again, no guarantees that I will since most of the places had already been looted early on."
-
Raz started to stir as the others spoke, groaning as the moderate talking was bothering his sleep.
-
I notice raz and lower to a whisper"I guess your right, I'll just stay here with raz just try to get back soon ok"I smile lightly.
