There's been a mining exploration called the "Core Collectors" for years, trying to gather high-energy crystals from deep, dark caves. They come in a variety of colours and are said to form the planet's core when combined, but recently they found something unlike anything else: a silver one, simply bursting with energy. However, this energy density attracts monsters made of rocks, out to swipe it and destroy the exploration in their wake...
Up to the players is to prevent this from happening, by whatever means necessary!

It was a very quiet time for a while. There were diggers busy, here and there intelligents shared advice or strategies. The most dangerous beings in these surroundings were bats, and they weren't dangerous at all. Mary was at the HQ, taking a look at the silver crystal mined just a couple of weeks ago. It gleamed heavily in the lamplight. She looked around- nothing of interest exept miners and their vehicles. She yawned. "It's been boring lately. Too boring, almost. What are those monsters up to?"
-
Ray was sitting in the cockpit of his N-36 'Goblin' mining exo-suit, and checked in via radio. "Ray here, that new dig ready?"
-
Mary heard the call and anwered: "Mary here. Hey Ray, you mean the discovery of that new cavern? That one has been called stable. But beware, you might just get an unexpected surprise. I'd say take care if you're planning on mining there."
-
Ray nodded. "Thanks Mary. I'm always careful." He started off towards the new site.

(1: you can always tell more than the template recommends. 2: lasers are fine.)
Mary went back to looking at the silver crystal...
-
The hovercraft was running and minimal power, engine barely ticking over. the rounded front had a window for the driver, and above it 2 large mining lasers sat, like eyes peering out into the darkness.
Sitting in the cockpit, Angder sat looking into the darkness, the huge machine was not designed for mining crystals, and mostly acted as transport and storage. Angder sat in his chair, hands on the controls, trying not to fall asleep. Its funny how desprate he had been to be in one of these things, and how now he was here, it was just dull. Just long hours going out, delivering things, then driving back, occasionally blasting a fallen rock or digging a side passage. Regardless to say, it was underwhelming.
-
Ray rolled into the dig site, and poked his head out of his rig. "Now...where be the gold, lads?!"
-
One of the miners would reply to Ray: "You know we're not mining for gold, weirdo! We need crystals! I think there are some in the wall on your left, by the way."
-
Ray chuckled. "I was just havin' a laugh, friend." He buttoned up his rig, and started drilling.

Character template: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19880754/ (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/19880754/)
Name: Razuel Dracon
Species: Western Feral Dragling
Gender: Male
Class: None
Tools: The closest I'm having Raz have to a mining laser is a concentrated beam of light from his soulstone(A large gem embedded on his chest)
Vehicle: None
(I'm hoping that I can do this with Raz as a little dragling. What I'm planning on having Raz do is assisting one of the people who're playing, being close to a pet, but not quite.)
-
Ray barely put his drill in the wall or two evil red eyes opened up right in front of him, paired with a low grumble like an earthquake. It resonated through the entire cave system. To make things worse: more of those red eyes opened up in the entire system, awoken by the grumbling.
Mary was shaken up by it and saw the glearing eyes. "Oh dang. Please don't tell me they're going to try a mass attack!" She hastily searched contact to all crew: "Everyone! Return to HQ ASAP! I suspect a mass attack- Relay this to those who don't have comm tech! We can't let them take our crystals!"
-
Raz was playing around on the mining site, him having a small radio on him for when people needed to find him.
Raz had found a small little hacky sack in a bow and was tossing it around, running into the area that Ray was in, and accidentally throwing the sack at him, hopping up onto the machine and playing with the hacky-sack that had fallen beside him, not paying attention to the radio
-
Angder jerked to life after hearing mary's warning over the radio, he started to power the engines up. He also, instinctively, started powering up the mining lasers. He got on the radio himself, broadcasting to any nearby Miners. "This is meteor-12, I take it everyone heard that, I am currently at sector 14. Please respond if you need a lift back to HQ. I will pick you up before I leave. over."
-
Ray brought the drill to a halt, and glanced down at the dragling. He bit his lip, took a chance, and unbuttoned the vehicle. "Psst!" Ray whispered to Raz. "Get in."
-
Raz looked up at Ray with large eyes and he climbed in, sitting tight next to Ray, playing with the hacky-sack while he sat
-
Ray slowly pulled the hatch shut, and backed out as carefully as he could. "Okay...easy now."
-
Raz continued to play with the hacky-sack, accidentally batting it up into Ray's face, only for it to fall down on his lap, to which Raz pounced at it.
-
Ray grunted as Raz landed in his lap, but still drove out of the site. He turned towards HQ, and continued on. "Perhaps they'll let us go with a warning?"
-
Raz looked up at Ray and nuzzled into his belly, and slowly falling asleep to the machine's vibrations and passing out on Ray's lap, himself lazily nodding to Ray's question before letting out a cute but tired coo as he fell asleep.
-
Gus woke up to the sound of the portable radio buzzing with commands as he jumped back to life as his hat hat slipped over his eyes. Which he pushed up ad then stood up on his feet as he realized that he had snoozed for a bit too long and then getti ready at HQ. I quickly got to my tool box and then was calling other furs at HQ too get ready for our miners return.
-
The walls with eyes now started to show signs of movement- Mary looked worried from one to the other as a large amount of rocks turned out to be alive. Mary turned to the miners, who sought out help and jumped in any nearby vehicle: "They ARE going to attack! Beware! This is not a training!" The living walls formed monsters, making their way to the HQ...
-
Angder watches as a couple of miners climbed into his vehicle, and then, slowly, the machine begins to move. hovering a short distance off the ground, before gaining speed as it began to accelerate. The mining lasers on top were glowing, ready to fire at anything that could be a threat.
Angder spoke into the radio a second time. "Ok, this is the Meteor12, times up, we are moving if anyone is still out there your going to have to find your own way back." He states. It was never a nice thing to say, but things were starting to get dangerous. He could see the forms moving about in the darkness; He was not going to blast them if he did not have to, and for now they kept their distance. That would change if he stayed still much longer, he knew that much.
-
The mass of monsters slowly advanced, all releasing low grumbles, that now were actually causing tremors. Their eyes shined evil and their numbers were great.
-
Raz slowly woke up with a questioning grunt and he looked back through the window of the vehicle he and Ray were in and his eyes went wide, he then nudged Ray to look behind, terrified grunts coming from Raz.
-
Surely seven monsters stood around Raz' mech, the one he had been drilling in made clear it wanted revenge.
-
Raz looked extremely scared and he was now shaking Ray pretty strongly, and as he saw one coming around he remembered what his soulstone was capable of, so he braced himself on Ray and shot a strong, concentrated, laser at this smaller monster, the beam hitting it's head, causing a deep welt in it's head
-
Now the monsters gave off a mighty roar that shook the earth. The monster he just hit now punched his mech. The others got close as well...
-
Raz was told before to never use his leg mounted radio unless in a dire emergency, and he registered this as one, so he pressed the clear red button on his radio and started making terrified grunts and whimpers, the sound of the monsters in the background, and as Raz complained for help in his normal grunts, a clear as day "Help!" came from Raz, which was his first english word he had ever spoken, aside from hungry, food, play, or thank
-
Mary heard the call. "Help..." She quickly responded: "Is that you Raz? Under attack, of course. How many?" She could not see how the monsters started to punch-combo his mech...
-
Raz climbed up to one of the windows and saw only four, but heard 3 others outside the mech, outside of his view, "Se... Seve... seven!", he then looked to the front, "B-big..."
-
Ray spun the upper body of the exo-suit, and socked one of the monsters in the face with the diamond-tipped drill. He then started driving away quickly.
-
Gus over heard the radio commands and was getting packed up and stepped on a teleporter to get to the planet as fast as he can, since he knows that if they are going to ,are it out. I would need to change the maniacal protocol within them.
-
The monsters, however, weren't planning on letting Ray go that easily. One of them managed to get hold of the mech's arm and yanked it back. The rest of the monsters in the cave came closer and closer to the HQ.
-
Angder's hovercraft kept moving, appraching the HQ, he hoped to arrive before things got too bad, but with thee tremors Angder was not optimistic. As the monsters grew more numerous, he started to blast the ground beside the craft. Warning shots to discourage them from attacking.
-
The monsters looked at Angder's craft. One of them pointed at it... and started laughing at it. Others joined in too, but the laughing didn't take long- They went into assault.
-
Angder swore loudly, and brought the lasers up, targeting the monsters approaching the craft. Still, he was not going to get them all even if the lasers worked against them. He reaches for his pickaxe, things were going to get messy.
-
The monsters came very close. They were smarter than they looked: they targeted the lasers first.
-
I got into the carrier ship pod HQ and then start booting it up to get from the ground and then started to head to the mining base, as I checked the ships systems and gears as I set it on auto pilot.
-
(Who needs spaceships if there's teleportation?)
The same instant Rasha hit the button he found himself at the HQ.
-
((Sshhhh I like it old fashion XD
I was confused and grumble as the wiring was messed up somewhere and then open up the console to figure out what went wrong.
-
(Sorry bruh. Perhaps I should've told that this group ONLY has a teleport connection from true base to mining HQ.)
-
Angder Swore, and yelled back through the craft. "SOMEONE ELSE GET THE CONTROLS! I AM GOING UP ON TOP!" He Then dashes to the back of the craft, pickaxe in hand, climbing out onto the roof. There were several creatures tearing at the lasers. he charged them, pickaxe in hand. Hoping to at the very least knock them off before they could do any real damage.
-
one of the miners who sought out help in the vehicle took the controls... But he wasn't trained to steer a craft that large, so he accelerated a bit too hard. The monsters grumbled as they were thrown off by Angder's pickaxe or became overrun by the craft.
-
((Ahh okie dokie, that is ok! Now since I know the problem is solved. XD ))
Gus was opening up the console and checked the wiring to see if something misconnected as is didn't make sense that it teleported him back and took out his monkey wrench to remove some of the bolts to get a better look at the whole system its self, being that the back housed more then the front.
-
Ray furrowed his brow in frustration. He hoped the monsters would've backed down. "Fine! Have it your way!" His final statement was punctuated by the revving of the drill, and it subsequently being thrust towards the nearest monster.
-
Angder barely noticed the acceleration, he was too focused on keeping the roof clear. Smashing monsters on all sides as his craft sped at dangerous speeds towards the HQ.
-
The miner controlling Angder's craft saw how the HQ came a bit too fast close. Before they hit it he used full brake power and stopped in the victinity. The monsters couldn't keep up and were far behind.
Mary saw the hovercraft and said to them: "Bring the miners on here- Then go help out Rayleonarde, he's under attack."
Ray hit the monster good and hard- It fell apart in liveless stone pieces.
Gus would find that there was nothing wrong with the wiring.
-
Angder yelped as the craft stops suddenly, he fell and slid off the front of the craft, Thankfully not being injured in the process. "Give me a moment..." He stated, while standing up and brushing himself off. "OK... Everyone out, I have a job to do." With a sigh, Angder climbed back into the craft as the miners left it. "Which sector am I heading for?" Angder asked over the Radio, as he started the engine running once again.
-
Mary responded to Angder: "It's the newest, cave 43-C."
-
Raz made a happy noise as one of the creatures fell, and when he did, he accidentally threw his Jacky sack out the window, and he started after it, currently still in the hub.
-
Raz' radio would give off a message from Mary: "Don't worry, help is on the way!"
-
Angder restarted the engines. One of his lasers was damaged, but he did not have time for repairs. Accelerating as much as he dared, Angder began to move towards 43-C.
-
As Angder was headed for the cave he'd see a mech, assaulted by six monsters.
-
Angder slowed the craft down, pointing the laser at the furthest monster from Ray, and blasting it. HE speaks over the radio "RAY! get yourself over here! We need to go!" He waited anxiously, the number of opponents was far too high for him to take alone.
-
Ray caught Raz before he could escape, and started flipping a bunch switches. "We had a good run, old gel. Give 'em a good last dance!" He pressed a button, and the cockpit windscreen shot of with the force of a gun. Ray then leapt from the mech, snatched up Raz's hacky-sac, and sprinted for Angder's ship. The mech began to spin wildly, as the core began it's self-destruct sequence. The machine produced an ear-shredding squeal as it went, attempting to attract as many creatures as possible.
-
The monsters were clearly obsessed by the dancing machine, and many monsters just outside the cave came curiously closer to have a look as to what was going on. They completely ignored Angder's craft.
-
Raz made a surprised noise as he was grabbed and made a screaming noise as they jumped over the crowd of monsters, clutching onto Ray's side as he heard the loud noise of the mech assaulting his ear holes
-
The monsters looking around the corner catiously came closer to the weird acting machine...
-
As soon as everyone else is aboard, Angder hits the accelerator. Immediately, the craft begins to move at dangerous speeds, Angder did not care. He had no intention of sticking around, and trusted his skill as a driver. "Everyone OK?" He yells back, to his two passengers.
-
Raz was clutching hard onto Ray, leaving holes in Ray's clothing
-
The monsters were still ignoring Angder's craft as they tried to hold the mech going crazy.
Mary noticed the sound of Angder's appearing craft and asked him through radio: "Did you manage to save Ray?"
-
Angder responds immediately. "Ray, and the dragon, are in the back. It seems the monsters have ignored me for some reason. As far as I can tell, the 3 of us are safe." Angder switches off the radio. "As far as I can tell..." he mutters, That was far too easy. Angder never liked it when things felt too easy.
-
Mary gave a sigh of relief. "Good. That's one concern less. Now , the rest of the miners has already gathered at the Hq, ready for defence... Wait... WHAT THE--" She looked up and saw two of the biggest, most evil red eyes ever. She muttered: "Oh no... We've got a problem. A big one... Literally AND figurally."
-
Just as the monsters made contact with the exosuit, the thing erupted into a massive fireball, consuming anything nearby.
-
Angder slows his vehicle, and speaks over the radio. "I only have one Laser ca~ Mining laser" Angder states. "What should I do?"
-
Mary answered in panic: "USE IT!"
While the blow of the exosuit shattered all the monsters nearby the ceiling above the HQ started to move, with a heavy, intense vibrating roar. Mary had trouble standing in it.
-
Angder's eyes go wide, then he grins. "Moving in" This was what he was more used to. Suicidal, crazy attacks, with weapons nowhere near good enough for the job. He charges up his laser, and moving in front of the monster, and while moving at significant speed, fires with everything the craft had.
-
A small chunk went out of the monster's body. Being hit, the monster pointed its huge eyes on Angder. With just a single move it crushed Angder's craft, and the monster went to standing in its full size, towering over the HQ. It was so big it had to duck to not hit the ceiling. Mary trembled in fear.
-
Just before the draft got hit, Raz jumped out of the back through a service hatch as his hacky sack had rolled out there.
-
Angder swears as his laser does almost nothing, and then swears even louder as the monster hits the craft. I mean, the ceiling should hold... have held. Angder hits the deck, as his craft comes down around him, leaving him trapped, but shockingly, alive. He stays silent, trying not to move. He was probably injured, probably fairly seriously injured judging by the remains of his craft. He would worry about that later. For now, he just wanted to survive.
-
Raz looked back at the now crushed craft, and then up to the monster, to which he pressed the button on his walkie-talkie, and said in a meek and scared tone, "Help..."
-
Mary stared at the monster, petrified. It was the biggest one she'd ever seen. She didn't know what to do. In a rush of panic she called the orbital HQ. The chief appeared on-screen and asked: "Hey Mary. You're shaking like mad. What's up?" "Giant... huge... MONSTER!" she gasped. "What? A monster bigger than ever? Call me a fool, but I have no clue. In fact, about some things you know more than I do!"
-
Raz was petrified as he stared up at the large monster, not thinking to move, but he could still hear his communicator if someone tried to speak with him.
-
Ray found himself pinned in the ship's hold, and called out. "Anyone alive? Pilot? Dragling?"
-
Angder yelps as he hears Ray, "Quiet!" Angder says, as loudly as he dares. "Its still out there! If it hears us, we are dead!"
-
Raz didn't move, still petrified, but he was breathing in a stuttered pattern.
-
The giant monster heard Ray's calling, but all it wanted was the silver crystal. He wanted to grab it, but Mary grabbed it first and tried to keep it away from the giant.
-
Angder crawls in rays direction, moving towards the door to the hold. The pain from his right leg. confirmed his leg was badly injured, possibly broken. When he reaches the doorway to the hold, Angder leans against the doorway trying to peer inside (thankfully the door had fallen out completely, rather than holding, and blocking the doorway). "Ray?" He whispers. "Ray? are you in there?"
-
Raz heard a piece of metal shift and creak and he let out a squeak, he then, without thinking, started to run, trying to find the garbage chute so he could climb inside.
-
Mary made a desperate attempt to keep the precious crystal in hands. The big monster focused fully on it as Mary tried to make an escape with the Inspector II.
-
Raz managed to find the chute... but it wasn't on the HQ building... it was on the Inspector 2, and he was in a ventilation shaft, not a garbage chute.
As the Inspector II started up, the ventilation did too, and Raz was sucked through the shaft and as he flew through the shaft he screamed, he then saw the pair of blades that forced the air through and he quickly approached them, that is until he was shot down through a vent grate and right into the cockpit of the Inspector II, right behind Mary.
Multiple times before, Raz had been told never to go into shafts or chutes as he could get himself hurt one day, but he never listened as he found the tight spaces to be cozy. A few times before he had gotten hurt, but not badly, such as when he fell down a 1 story vent and broke a forearm. It took a few days for them to get Raz out, but he made a full recovery... but he forgot the whole thing the next day and tried to do it again... they blocked the vents the 2nd time it happened.
-
Ray groaned quietly, and looked around the wrecked hold. "Yeah...I passed out for a second."
-
Angder stumbles over to ray. "Sounds like its moving away... here... I will give you a hand." Painfully, but carefully, Angder starts to remove some of the rubble pinning Ray.
-

(Raz? The Inspector II is a small hover vehicle and does NOT have a cockpit. It's not even big enough to feature a ventilation system at all! You could've at max jumped in the small cargo holder.)
The big monster followed the swift thing with its eyes. Mary made some sharp confusing turns hoping to shake the monster off, and at least lured it away from the HQ.
-
(Oh... sorry about that... um... lemme try and fox my mistake...))
Raz believed he was in a shafts, but was just in a cargo hold and in the instance of hearing the stomping and getting tossed around, he wanted to escape the small hold, and thud he started banging at the walls around him, and scratching the walls, making enough noise for Mary to hear him if she was listening.
-
Mary looked over her shoulder at the monster, then noticed Raz sitting in the cargo bay. It didn't shield him from view as the bay had no roof and only low walls. She gasped: "RAZ? What in the universe are you doing there?"
-
Raz froze and looked Mary, lowering his head and looking at her with a sorry look on his face, "Sorry..." was the only thing that came out of his maw.
-
Mary made a sharp turn to avoid being smooshed, then said: "Sorry doesn't help! I don't want you to get in trouble because of me! Going is your biggest chace on survival!"
-
Raz looked outside and saw how fast they were going and he shook his head, "Too fast!", he said as he looked out of a window.
-
(Inspector II: no windows)
Mary yelled: "Ugh. Stay in there then. I'm going so fast to escape that large doop behind us!"
Mary was indeed slowly distancing from the big monster.
-
((GOD DAMMIT! Sorry... I really need to brush up on these things... anything else it doesn't have?))
Raz did stay there, laying down so he wouldn't get thrown around.
-
(Look at my first post. How I described the vehicle is really all there is to it. Hover system, small engine, cargo holder and scanner with screen. No more. Really.)
The monster couldn't just jump behind the thing forit would smash its head. In fact it was so large that as the tunnels grew narrower it had to bend over to not hit its head. Mary was making distance more rapidly as the monster lost speed.
-
Ray pushed the rest of the rubble off of himself, and stood slowly. "That...hurt."
-
Ray would find most of the monsters were gone after Mary took the silver crystal with her. The HQ was still buzzing with activity, though.
Mary herself pushed the Inspector II trough a tunnel too small for the big monster to pass. It could only look at the vehicle.
-
Angder limps out of the wreck of his craft. "Seriously... Need... better... Pay." He mumbles to himself, as he pushes himself through a broken part of the Hull.
-
Ray, limping as well, followed Angder. "I'll second that notion."
-
The HQ, they could see, was now no longer under attack. The monsters had crawled back into the walls as Mary made an escape with the silver crystal.
