I've got some Sick Puppies on my iPod xD another underground band...possibly...Velet Revolver? or P!ATD
Awesome. I think they're really cool. I dunno if this would count, but I've noticed not may people know of them. The White Stripes? They are awesome.

Panic at the Disco is main stream.....as is White Stripes ^_^

hahah, Night Dragon, Nice Banner and Pic
-
Yea i hear White Stripes on the radio alot...

or...~browses iPod~ State of Shock? Yellowcard? Slayer? (btw many people have died at Slayer concerts in the mosh pit and such...))
Hinder? Santana?
-
...That's weird. Nobody in South Carolina knows the White Stripes all that well, and even if they do know them they only like about two songs. Plus, they never play them on the radio.
=/
...And sankyah.
:3
-
http://www.myspace [dot] com/withoutpapers2000
-

I THINK Flyleaf is mainstream.... They used to be on the radio ALOT
-
Definitely Apocalyptica.

Figured that out a while back Nyx ^_^;
but yeah, alota people are rising in rank cuz of the RP section.....I need to post more in my stories.....
anyways, My Epiphany, they dont make music anymore but if you get the chance try and find their music
-
There are people out there that still don't know.
o.-
But, yeah, my mate directed me to a band called Crush 40. They're pretty cool. They do the background music in the newer Sonic the Hedgehog Games.
-
Sickness, uhmm
oh yeah, the Protomen, their Song Vengnace got me obcessed, they dress like robots on stage!!!!
hahahah
Posted on: December 24, 2007, 07:35:19 AM
OMG OMG OMG, We the Kings, Ive mentioned them before, But they are.....their just awesome!!!
their on tour with Boys like Girls and Cobra Starship!!!!
and Travis is cute :sparkle:
-
Yes, I forgot about the Protomen, I like their song Due Vendetta. Also, all of their songs are based on Megaman which is why they probably dress as robots.
xD
-
I knew IT!!!
hahah, thanks
-
No problem, if you look up the order of the songs, it plays out as one huge Megaman rock opera.
-
i ddint know Crush 40 wasnt mainstream ???
I used to always listen to them... >>
Until their music just got annoying to me...
Now I listen to Alesana, Linkin Park, Green Day, and all those bands that dont.. yknow... suck >>
-
There are people out there that still don't know.
o.-
But, yeah, my mate directed me to a band called Crush 40. They're pretty cool. They do the background music in the newer Sonic the Hedgehog Games.
oh yea...i like Crush 40 i have a few of their songs...then again i love Sonic xD one of my fave song by them is "I am (all of me)" off of the Shadow The Hedgehog Soundtrack.
-
I think Matchbook Romance is a underground band...
I only know of one of their songs, it's called
Monsters
-
you are the most Scene Kid I have ever met :D
Linkin Park got tired after a while and doesnt even try with their music
and Matchbook Romance is a long Existing band that even lost a member recently (They left)
-
Linkin Park does TOO
-
Come on.....
"What Ive Done"
"Bleed it out"
I dont even keep track of their music anymore, Underground Bands with busted up guitars who play gigs at run dowm apartments and garages have more creativity.
-
*hits you with a bat*
WELL IM SORRY I LIKE THEIR SONGS!
What I've Done is a deep song. -_-
And Bleed it Out is a pretty good song. -_-
-_- "-_-
And if LP dosnt try anymore than why are there so many LP Street Team and Underground members?
Answer that -_-
-
Hmm ive heard of Enter Shakira, There pretty awesome. And loads of people knew of dragon force before GH3, the only reason it was actually put on GH3 is cuz so many people modded it onto there ps2's.
-
yeah....annnnd Kira, Its because those are the Hardcore Fans and the little Scene kids who jumped on when they first heard of them at their Mall's CD shop and MTV
its a cold hard fact....sorry
-
Everyone has their own opinion.
I havn't heard of many underground bands..
But wasn't DragonForce on GH3 when it came out?
-
Harloe!
-
i've got a couple more...

~Alice In Chains
and that's all of them :P
-
almost all of those are pretty well known
-
ummm leme think........
7 angels 7 plagues,
all that remains,
becoming the archetype,
war of ages,
winter solstice,
with blood comes cleansing,
circle of dust,
disciple, and thousand foot krutch.
Thats All!! ???
-

Don't know if anyone heard them.
Grandaddy, some of you may know them from the zombie flick "28 Days Later"
-
I know of a band...
but i forget he exact name of it...
it had "clown" or "clowns" in it though...
another one might be The Black Label Society...
-
not really sure about their status in the US.. but maybe Hundred Reasons?
(but a lot of american bands are anti-famous here, like Finger eleven, unwritten law, avenged sevenfold, system of a down and such, practically unkown to the mainstream here)
-
I dislike Avenged Sevenfold.....now....their older work was great
same with alot of bands
-
Machete Ave
I hate sally
Protest the hero
Written in dust
Full circle.
-
ummm leme think........
7 angels 7 plagues,
all that remains,
becoming the archetype,
war of ages,
winter solstice,

Are those all Christian bands?
I found another one...Super Furry Animals xD
-
OMG!!!
Protest the Hero!!!!

Album: Oh no
I found It funny xD
-
lithic. kind of like tool/system combo sound. Uterly awesome
-
Ive been to many Nocturn shows now, ambient black metal. Any other hard core metal heads here?
-
Yea i hear White Stripes on the radio alot...
what about Dragonforce? seeming no one knew about them since guitar hero 3 came out...
or...~browses iPod~ State of Shock? Yellowcard? Slayer? (btw many people have died at Slayer concerts in the mosh pit and such...))
Hinder? Santana?
Carlos Santanna been out for a loooooooong time, so i don't realy think he can be counted as an underground artist. Also, hinder is a bit main stream.
-
i've got a couple more...
~Stone Temple Pilots
~Plush
~L7
~Primal Scream
~Danzig
~Helmet
~Depeche Mode
~Jane's Addiction
~the Stone Roses
~Alice In Chains
and that's all of them :P
most of those are just realy old bands, that's why you don't hear them on the radio any more.
-
it seems that most of you peoples are finding old artists that have recwently come out with new or previously unreleased material. Also, most of them are definatly not underground artists. Put it this way, if they have music on a multi national game/video, ie nfs prostreet, then they aren't indie. grr Listen peoples, Research what you think before you type it!
-
Well some people haven't heard of it.. but how 'bout From Autumn To Ashes?
I think they're somewhat of a local band around here.. I went to one of their
shows awhile ago and it was pretty awesome. ^^
They helped people who were crowd surfing onto the stage and told the
security to back off, saying that we're all friends here, and to let us have our fun.
Before playing any songs they did a speech about how all the stuff on MTV
is fake and commercialized and such and that people should play because they love
music, not money.
Anyways.. I'm not sure if it's still underground or not.
I don't listen to the radio or watch MTV enough to know these things. ;P
-
thats GOOD!!!
anything on MTV is either overused, played out, or commercialized as one of the previous posts mentioned
and Autumn to Ashes is an alright band
What Happened in Vegas.....great band
Astrea
And then there Was you
Baumer
New London Fire
Look Mexico (GREAT BAND!!!)
I See Stars
and numerous others!!
they're out there, you just have to pick them up from underneath the bed of the mainstream.
-
clutch
at least no one has hear of it around here
-

-
Ehem...*pulls out a 2007 Warped Tour official program* Smitty's Music Review!
Ok here is all the bands, I seen there and liked and I am pretty sure they are kind of unheard of. Check em' out (also not sure if people posted some of these bands so meh )
Big D and the Kids table - ( kind of got the Ska sound going on in some of the songs but worth the listen )
Tiger Army - ( pretty good in my opinion try "Nocturnal" )
Meg and Dia - ( pretty good chick band and they are both pretty hot too :) that and they have a song named after my homestate so woot! "Indiana" anyone? )
Circa Survive - ( pretty interesting, got a girl as lead singer try "House of Leaves" or "Suspending Belief" )
Cute is What We Aim For - ( awesome band utilizing trumpets and putting in some interesting sound effects such as water drops try "Time" or "Hollywood" )
Anberlin - ( Meh, not quite in my taste but might be worth a listen to for some of you furs out there :) )
Pennywise - ( definitely worth a listen at least in my opinion try "Disconnect" "Alien" "Yesterdays" or "Tribute" )
The Spill Canvas - ( Pretty good band that inspires it definitely left me thinking and touched me try "The Tide" and "So Much" )
and another band that wasn't at Warped Tour but worth a listen is Edison Glass, try "This House"
and that wraps up my review so now go and check the bands out! =3 Smitty approves of these bands.
-
Oooh, they play Pennywise and The Spill Canvas a lot on the local indie show, I really like those bands style.
How about CSS? or even My Morning Jacket?
-
Anyfur heard of USS? (Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker)
If not try "Hollow Point Sniper Hyperbole"
-
how about Megaherz? they're german heavy metal... Awesomeness. I can only find one cd by them, so i guess emerging artists count as underground, right?
-
Yea i hear White Stripes on the radio alot...
what about Dragonforce? seeming no one knew about them since guitar hero 3 came out...
or...~browses iPod~ State of Shock? Yellowcard? Slayer? (btw many people have died at Slayer concerts in the mosh pit and such...))
Hinder? Santana?
haha i knew about them before guitar hero 3 came out. i have there discography on my phone.
-
So did I... Fury Of the Storm or My Spirit Will go on are my fave songs by them...
-
So did I... Fury Of the Storm or My Spirit Will go on are my fave songs by them...

-
Hmm.. howabout The Handsome Furs? huh? it fits because they's furry.
-
Diddnt know this got turned into an official post......
-
Considering I have a soft spot for European music, I could go on and on about bands that are "Underground" as far as the US goes.
Lacuna Coil
Within Temptation
Subway to Sally
Amon Amarth
Scarling
Jack Off Jill
Helloween
The Birthday Massacre
Lordi
Dio
God Lives Underwater
Theater of Tragedy
Dimmu Borgir
Those are just a few of my underground favorites.
-
Bah, your crazy if you think Lacuna Coil is underground anymore!
But really, besides that..
What about:
Mindless Self Indulgence
Maximum The Hormone
Splay
LM.C
Cherryblosson
Tiara?
-
Tearing down vegas and malice mizer
-
A man and his beard!!
hahah, punkish band.
-
would ensiferum count as underground? either way... its worth a listen if you like viking/folk metal
-
hmm, what about NOFX? Or Transplants?
-
Diorama is one of my favorites. They're an electropop/darkwave act out of Germany.
Synthesize Me

Juno Reactor
Jeff Beck (different than just plain Beck)
The Prodigy
Infected Mushroom
I'm a huge Goa techno fan (Juno Reactor, Infected Mushroom)

-
www.myspace.com/whitelightparade
My cousins band, I think theyre pretty good but im not that into music really..
-
Bloom 06, my favorite band I've ever heard, is surprisingly unnoticed (in America). Nobody at my school knows of The Presidents, The Pogues, or the Violent Femmes. Or perhaps I'm looking at the wrong crowd? If you don't know of these 4 bands, check them out.
-
is Divinity Destroyed considered underground?
-
CROSSING CNETURIES! (thats my band, when we finish recording ill put up a link)
also check out Meriwether http://www.myspace.com/meriwether
-
cant wait to see it! ^^
www.myspace.com/whitelightparade
-
The Ataris's not too well known
http://www.myspace.com/theataris
-
Has anyone heard of Bloodbath.
-
Wow, someone mentioned helmet a bit back, although it was on GH1, they got like no attention, thankfully keeping them less well known. No one in my area knows of them, but I love them
Um...
Julien K
Black Tide
Deathgaze
Sadie
Scar Symmetry
Stone Sour
-
Fort minor seems to be relatively unknown
-
anyone ever hear of Attack Attack! ?
-
Has anyone heard of the band Bloodbath?
-
Nope, sorry. How about Heart Of Darkness? I've heard one of their songs and loved it, but can't find any of their CDs or anything... :'(
-
What about Domotic?
Or what about Mindless Self Indulgence?
-
I've heard of MSI but never listened to 'em. Anyone listen to The Flobots?
-
Yep, Flobots are okay. Good messages, good rhythm, good band.
-
Solitude, a band from a city close to where i live.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCnNUuVGeIE
-
my old band only about a hundred cd copies are out. used to play clubs but i was fired for my voice was too deep anyway the name is Falling away from the thing known as a world.
i thought we were good.
-
Has anyone ever heard of Blest Abomination?? ???
-
No, I haven't heard of Blest Abomination, but the name sounds interesting. What are they like?
*Necromances the MSI reference*
I love MSI. o.O
Perchance... The Scarring Party?
-
anyone here familiar with Death Pilot?
-
The Tossers, Svartsot, Orphaned Land, The Human Abstract (I think is underground), Destroy Destroy Destroy, The Carps.
-
I've never seen anyone else into The Draft. I really like that band, especially "Alive or Dead". Guitar tabs from them are hard to get though. ><
-
Anyone hear of "1-800-ZOMBIE" ?
-
Hijak Oscar
surely somebody has heard of them, though nobody I've talked to in real life no about them, except when i show them the album. THey're my favourite band of ALL TIME
-
Hows about Vanna?
I just saw them live yesterday
-
The Tossers, Svartsot, Orphaned Land, The Human Abstract (I think is underground), Destroy Destroy Destroy, The Carps.
The Human Abstract is AMAZING! :D
I enjoy this band more for laughs than music, but anyone hear of 2 O'Clock Girlfriend? They're a really obnoxious screamo band but they have really funny short songs.
-
how's about th3 furry b&? hmm? makes sense cause a few of my friends just started it today. ^^
-
XD! Awesome name. At first they were typos... Then censors... THen... OOOOOH! I get it! :P
Blank Limit is a RP band I'm in. ;)
-
it started with myself, my friend evan, and his friend splooge (no s***, thats his name) were talking about 4chan and also music, since all of us are musicians we were like, whatever, lets just start a new band. we joked around with names and thats what we came up with. ^^
-
Haha, sweet. Genre?
--
Veil of Maya and Cynic are other bands I like, most definitely underground.
-
we are thinking comedy metal/funk since thats pretty much what we play. ;)
-
Haha, sweet. So The Mars Volta with a punchline. XD
-
actually probably more like.... *ponders* primus with a crappy bassist crossed with spinal tap
-
Haha! Brutal.
Oh, I like Inhale Exhale too.
-
Three of my favorites.
Dog Fashion Disco, Polkadot Cadaver, and Alter Boys.
I Looooove Todd Smith. He's in all three of those bands. He has a voice like and angel and a devil all in one.
-
Stuka Squadron, hardly anyone I know know them.
-
Some may have heard of them, but I like Straight Line Stitch. It's like Beyonce letting out anger in a mathcore band. And succeeded. :D
-
Here are a few I've liked recently
Abney Park
Jill Tracy
Katzenjammer Kabarett
Humanwine
Vermillion Lies
The Deadly Nightshade Botanical Society
Chiasm
Anders Manga
Automatic Loveletter
Porcelain and the Tramps
Life Toward Twilight
-
The only one I can think of is Zephaniah and the only reason its unknown is because its a local metal band. Its genre would probably fit in metal/folk/comedy gbecause at the beginning and end of every song the singer and the band usually say a random meme or countdown from pokemon or something of the sort. You guys should youtube them it a pretty good band.
-
I don't know if anyone's heard of Zimmer's Hole. It's comedy metal and all they do basically make fun of bands and other sub genres XD
-
Only thing I can think of that no one's posted.
Gallows.
I dunno if they're deep underground, 'cause their second album hit 20 in the charts on the first day it sold, but they're pretty good either way.
Parental advisory tag is justified, though. I think there's only two or so songs they don't actually swear in.
-
Comedy death metal? Iwrestledabearonce. ;)
We're making a band like theirs called "ME LIKE JANE" It's gonna be sweet!
-
the mentors. metal band, ten minutes of fame when then senator al gore recited a couplet of veeeeeeery veeeeeery offensive lyrics from one of their songs
-
This one is relevent to the fandom.... http://www.sublevel3.us/ Sublevel 03, for any con goers you might have seen them in concert. =^.^=
-
the ropes and flogging molly
-
Robbers On High Street
-
Hmm... I don't really know if this band is underground, but I've asked a few people and nobody has heard of it in my area: All Time Low
-
Hmm, let me think.
Nightwish
Lacuna Coil
Apocalyptica
Nightmare
Brokencyde
Hollywood Undead
Dream Theater
Epica
From First to Last (I'm not sure about this one. They've been around awhile but no one has really heard of them in my area.)
Hurt
Infected Mushrooms
Lost Prophets
mewithoutYou (No, it's not a typo. That is the name of the band)
Mindless Self Indulgence (Again, been around awhile but no one in my area's ever heard of them)
Placebo (see above)
Sonata Artica
Stereo Skyline
Sugarcult
Superchick
Within Temptation
Black Veil Brides
You Me At Six
Wow, long list. Anyways, that's all I can think of at the moment. I'm sure some of these are probably mainstream in other places but I'm just going off what bands people here have never heard of.
-
I heard of Msi but I know a lot of pop don't know who they are nut idle how do you define what mainstream is? :?
-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZ48C8z7aOQ BS2
This is the underground of the underground. Reese Roper, I believe is one of the most misunderstood artists I have ever met. :*
-
Big Dumb Face...Wes Borland's side project from Limp Bizkit...alternative rock/death metal, freaking funny as hell. Check out Duke Lion Fights the Terror, their only album before he went back to LB :(
Side note, Spike, yer freaking awesome!
-
I:Scintilla
They're like a dark electronic band.
Epica, Flogging Molly, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Apocalyptica, Dropkick Murpheys, Austrian Death Machine, and Winds of Plague all win.
On the note of metal: THE FACELESS. They're so technical.
-
Voltaire (I still insist)
Fanfarlo
Ima Robot
Fleet Foxes
Revolution Void
Audiobody
-
Not particularly underground & he's been around for at least 2 decades but Billy Cobham. That's Jazz Fusion to you lot, and it's awesome. An actual underground band is The Low Anthem. 2/3rds melancholy folk 1/3rd rattling blues. Awesome.
-
The Faint - amazing new wave-esk band. gotta check them out!
-
Ill Nino- umm no one I know has herd of thm,
-
ladytron
oucho sparks
the faint
of montreal
the postal service (not that underground, but worth mentioning)
mc chris (I KNOW some on here knows atleast one song)
flying lotus
dan deacon
just to name a few...
-
Wolves in the Throne Room I consider an underground band. They're American and they have two albums out (Diadem of Twelve Stars and Two Hunters) but very few people know of them. They probably have an audience of like... ~50,000 people but that's just a rough estimate not counting people who know them locally. They play black metal so that's already a selective crowd... I really like them so black metal fans... Check'em out.
-
American Minor
Atom Smash
Black Light Burns
Burn Halo
Candlebox
Cavo
Cracker
Craving Lucy
Sixx AM
Stone Sour
Temple of the Dog
+44
16 Second Stare
That's what I got for not very well known. Also: Temple of the Dog was a one album project in 1990. One of the best grunge sounds, though.
-
Cage the Elephant
-
Cage the Elephant
They aren't main, but they aren't underground. Somewhere in between.
-BUT-
They are the best new alternative band. Also, an electronic band to which everybody has heard, but few people know. She Wants Revenge
-

-
has anyone heard of Dimmu Borgir
Dimmu Borgir is a very well known band. Maybe not in the states... But among the general black/death metal community they are very well known. Vortex is my hero! xD
-
Been listening to Foxboro Hottubs, The Network, and Pinhead Gunpowder... First two are side projects of Green Day and third is Billy Joe's other band
-

A Sudden Change of Pace is a pretty righteous one. Not sure how underground it is since the person who told me about it has a lieing issue, but no one I know has ever heard of them....
-
I know a pawesome unsigned band called Bullets For Bill, check 'em out they are awesome B)
-
anyone ever heard of the evens?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f8Fx923kKdU&feature=related
iam mckaye is kinda one of the holy godfathers of hardcore music with bands like minor threat and fugazi, and this is his new band. only two people, but they sound complete even with no bass... partialy because he's playing a baritone guitar tuned down i think a perfect 5th?
they're cool though... crossing punk and hardcore almost with chamber jazz with some of their tracks.
-
Spyke<3 Industrial at its best :3
-
