Rap as the genre is really great but when some artist make it into a generic thing that is always the same
-
see i dont like what people think rap is that slow crap with just a few words that rhyme and has a hard beat to it. I rap about how life is and how I've come this far and all that stuff but hey check it out for yourself you'll see mine isnt no generic crap
-
I agree with you this is no generic crap the beat and the lyrics are smooth I will definitely be listing to your stuff in the future
-
really the only sort of rap i listen to is twenty one pilots..which isnt even that much tbh

So anyone else rap?
-
Rap isn't generally my thing but I come across a song or two now and then that I like.

Rap is a genre of music like any other, I like some and I hate some. My step mom hates it so I'm not really "supposed" to listen to it, but she should have better things to do than to judge people based on what sort of music they like to listen to.
I used to not care for the lyrics themselves, but as long as they're mostly clean or there's a reason to be cursing so much in your songs... I don't really care.
TL;DR: I don't mind it.

I'd love to do something experimental like rap one day. I'm a big fan of names like Del the Funky Homosapien, Lupe Fiasco, Mike Shinoda of Fort Minor, (Not Linkin Park, shut up) and De La Soul.
Rap/Hip-hop has soul, (At least, some of it does) but I feel like they're words I'm not worthy of making any attempt to relate to out of sheer natural ignorance. If I did do anything, I'd do it Beastie Boys style so it doesn't feel like I'm intruding on sacred ground - I couldn't even do traditional hip-hop graffiti without feeling like a jerk.
