Title: Advice on an art project.
Post by: Dax Declan on May 23, 2016, 04:38:43 PM
My final in my Sculpture class is I have to make something that is 2D into a3D sculpture with layers. I decided to do the Mirrors edge logo but I'm having trouble getting more than 2 layers. We need 3-5 and I'm hoping to get 4. So if anyone could give me some advice that would be awesome.

Here is the picture I'm using as reference.

Not sure if you still need help, but...
You could make the flat surface layer 1,  the outer part of the logo 2, and then divide the inner [spiky] part into sections. So the first spike could be lower than the next one, and the third spike the highest.

Not really sure how else to explain that but hopefully it makes sense? You could also mix in some layering like laser-cut things: http://ih0.redbubble.net/image.34222791.9126/flat,800x800,075,f.u1.jpg (http://ih0.redbubble.net/image.34222791.9126/flat,800x800,075,f.u1.jpg)
