I'd be careful with this thread.

I'm not Christian myself but I do believe in a non-secular force. I also come from a Catholic and Baptist background.

But isn't Mormonism a denomination of Christianity?

Yes, but I don't go to church anymore.. So I don't count me as a Mormon anymore.

I think when the baby boomer groups try to update morning sermons with modernized hymns, it's somewhat hilarious or when they use altered forms of songs to further the agenda. People who go to church already "get it", no need to bash it in lol.

I prefer the older hyms than anything. They're a lot simpler than the new or modern ones.

I grew up Christian (Methodist to be specific) until I was about 12 or so. Nowadays I consider myself agnostic and slightly pagan-curious. Despite that I still have some nostalgia for the church/community I used to go to even if I don't believe in that religion anymore.

I don't think it should matter what religion(or lack thereof) a person is, as long as they're decent people right?

God has given everyone talents to show how much He loves us. But it's what you do with those talents is how you show Him your love and gladness.

I mainly use music.

I have a necklace given to me for confirmation of the Presbyterian church. The cross is bent silver and looks very nice. (Picture maybe?) It just reminds that I'm not alone, even if I feel like it.

I'm not a Christian, but I guess I'd like to be. I wasn't raised in a (practicing) christian family, but I was still baptised lol. Tbh I'd say most people in the UK aren't practicing christians

@Aelyn: During my time in the UK, I'd say they were (or at least the area I was in did seem like it), just that most of them are rather appreciative for their "me" space. They can be friendly, but they are rather "reserved" in how friendly they are due to a lot enjoying their privacy. There are a fair number of churches and some of them are almost constantly used due to the number of members within that area.

Relics of the past, you're quite right, religion has dramatically fallen in the U.K. particularly over the passed few years. I really like the churches that it's left behind, they're really nice buildings, I live right next to one and would sit in it and write all the time, I however wouldn't say I'm religious and more that I share similar views to [Amethyst]. :)

I find it funny when people say "There's no proof that the bible is true" When it's the most reliable source of history of its time. It passes bibliographic and external test better that any other historical document of its time

Title: Re: Christian furries
Post by: Booplesnoot on November 23, 2015, 10:19:27 AM
I'm not that strict in my beliefs as well. I have a more open mind about what I accept than my parents and I involve myself in things they wouldn't accept. It has never lead to conflicts, but that's because they don't know I involve myself in those things. (FYI: it's about two PG-13 comics and Pokémon.)

As for freedom of religion, this even happens in Christianity. Some Christians are so strict about some things that they think their way of believing is the correct. Ugh...

That's a heinous understatement. Ever heard of Westboro? Gives me headaches to think about..
