She walked around, twirling and swinging around her staff in a playful way. She wasn't really paying attention to where she was going, all her attention was focused on her staff that she was moving around.

Seeing the young kender he thought "OH god, A kender Rouge, Great, O well all are worth training" "Excuse me, young lady, Are you one they sent from the kender's?"

She slowly stopped playing with her staff when she heard the voice, standing the staff up and holding it like a walking stick, she looked around for the source of the voice. She spotted the lower portion of a body and scanned up it until she saw the face. "Umm yeah..." She said and tilted her head to the side. "You're really tall." She looked down and back up his body again in a curious fashion.

"Well, she cirtainly is a kender" He knelt down and said "You are of age, and willing to learn, Yes?"

She smiled. "Yes, yes I am. I may not look it, we Kenders never do really, but I'm actually twenty." She adjusts her staff.

"does she think me Daft?"He smiled as he pulled a stilletto from one of his pouches "Here, little one, i know more about kenders than you would think"

She takes it from him, smiling still. "I figured you knew. I just thought I'd point it out in case." Then holds up a hand to the side of her mouth and whispers like it's some kind of secret. "Some people aren't too bright. I get talked to as if I'm three or something all the time." She lowers her hand and shakes her head in disappointment.

"And she acts like this is news?" He took out one of hs katana and threw it into a tree, quicker than she could see "After the training you will recive, you will be able to kill birds with that Dagger."

One of her ears twitches slightly but she believes that it's just from the wind, she looks to her dagger. She looks back to him, her eyes shining with a bit of wonder. "Okay."

walksing to the tree, he pulls the katana from it, it had buried itself in to the hilt, He pulled it out like the tree was butter "But, your training cannot begin till the others arrive."

She watches him intently as he walks to the tree. When she sees him pull the katana from the tree, she tilts her head to the side again and has a look on her face that says 'Was that there before or did I miss something?' Her expression changes back to normal and she nods.

He Chuckled heartily "While I was talking to you, I threw it."

"Oooooh, gotcha." She said with a look of realization. Her eyes shifted to her staff, she smiled and started twirling it again, watching it intently.

"My oh my isnt she presious :twitch: oh well, ive dealt with kenders before" He sheathed his katana, and walked back over to her "First we need to see how well you are getting along in your weapons."

She stops the staff just short of hitting him, she was definately lucky that she was paying attention to what she was doing. She directs her attention at him. "Ok, what do you want me to do?" She holds her staff like a walking stick again, leaning on it some.

"You are to open all of these locks." He hands her about 200 complex and odd looking locks "You have till tomorrow morn"

She takes the locks and smirks, liking the challenge. She plops down on the ground and starts working at the first one without saying a word, concentrating.

Seeing her makeshift pick set he hands her a differnt one, with little odd bells and foxtails attached to them "These should be more to your liking, they belonged to another kender i knew, i can make no sense of them, but you most certainly can."

Her attention is quickly drawn away from the lock. She grabs the set eagerly and admires the picks, her eyes gleaming as she looks them over. She looks at him and smiles the most genuine smile anyone could ever see. "Thank you." She looked back down at the picks, took one of them, and continued to pick at the first lock.

"Kenders, just like children, pure at heart, and selfless." He smiled and sat, looking for any others that wished to learn

She finishes with her first lock, setting it to her left. She glances at him when he sits, grabs another lock, examines it, and switches picks. She starts working at the lock.

"Be always aware, young one, these locks will become tougher."

She keeps her attention on the lock. "I know they will." She held the lock up some to get a better look at what she was doing.

A grey elf stood in the shadows, she had translucent violet eyes that didn't reflect anything and long silver white hair, held up in a high pony-tail. She carried a Odachi on her back and wakizashi on her hip. She stepped forward silently and approched the two the stood before her. She watched intently as the kender worked on the locks.

Standing, he stated "Ah, another, Are you ready young elf?"

She had heard another approach them, but kept all her attention on picking the lock. She noticed that he stood up and spoke to the newcomer. She smiled at the lock when she heard a click and set it to her left. She grabbed the next lock, examined it, grabbed a different pick, and started working on the lock, still not looking up at the newcomer because she's completely focused on her challenge.

"I'm ready for anything...." I stated while resting my hand on the hilt of my wakizashi

"Good!" And then like a flash she was on the Ground, both his katanas to her throat (i rolled a 20 on my Action roll XD crit pass) "First lesson, Always be ready."

She looked up, still fiddling with the lock at the same time, and chuckled when she saw that the newcomer was on the ground. She knew the same thing would happen to her the first time if she was doing that kind of training right now.

He sheathed his katana and sat back down "Elf, Practice with that ancient oak, you have 1 day to chop it down, with only your unmodified weapons."

Artemas stalked some deer through the woods as she listened to the forest wake up. What a beautiful day today has started out to be... She grinned and sat on a moss covered rock, thinking.

I nodded and pulled out my wakizashi's. I fliped on in my hand and slashed at the oak. I looked back at the cut through the corner of my eye. '...an inch....this could take longer than I thought.... I stood up calmly and quickly slashed at the tree with the other....I fliped both short swords in my hands and cut with them at the same time, increasing the damage done. I continued to attack with speed and grace, and I wouldn't stop till I had finished my goal.

She had been working on her locks the entire time, her ears twitched when she heard his voice. She glanced up at him while fiddling with a lock, then she looked at the pile to her left which had grown quite a bit. She stops fiddling with the lock, scratches her head and mumbles, "Lost count..." She looks at the pile of finished locks, then the unfinished ones, and then back. They looked about even to her but she wasn't sure.

He nodded and sat back down "Good girl"

She smiled at him, then looked back down at the lock and continued to fiddle with it. She grabbed a second pick and picked at the lock with two picks.

"You will soon find yourself using them all, on one lock."

She nods, she had actually expected that. She finally heard the click and put the lock in the finished lock pile. She grabbed another lock, examined it, grabbed two different picks (putting the other two back), and started working at the lock.

He turned his attention to the elf "How Deep Be thy hole?"

After a couple of hours I stopped my rage of attacks and backed away. I was breathing slightly heavier than normal. I looked at the cut and frowned. "...quater way...." I looked at the wakizashi's in my hand.... "I can't finish with these.....they are much to short..." I muttered sheathing them. I lifted my right hand to the hilt on the Odachi on my back. I pulled in out and grasped it with my left hand as well. The blade was held on a slant in front of my face as I prepared my self for my next cut. I brought the blade down so it was off to the side and pointing outward. A few seconds later I charged at the ancient oak and cut my blade though part of it as I ran by. Looking back the cut was much bigger. I brought my Odachi back up and cut at the tree swiftly. '...This time I will finish this...'

Walking over to her, he pulls from his backpack a thin and deadly looking odachi ((make sure you add a +3 Vorpal Odachi to your inventory)) "You will be using this in battle if you so choose, but do not test the blade, it is sharp, and will always stay so."

She looks over at the elf then back down at her lock. After a bit she hears it click, tosses it onto the pile to her left, grabs the next one, switches picks, and works on that one.

Walks back over to her " You both are quite good at what you do, But you both have not even scratched the surface of your professions."

She looks up at him as the lock finally clicks and she tosses it to her left. She smiles again, not speaking, then looks down, grabs another lock, switches picks, and works on the lock. She stops, opens and closes her hands a few times, then continues.

I took the Vorpal Odachi and placed it in my sheath. "Thank you...." I said and returned to my task at hand, I was already half way through 'Just a couple more hours of this....'

"I will be back." He said as his body seemed to dissapate into a black gas,and then he was gone

She shrugged. She continued working on her locks. Every ten or so she would add a pick, she know that eventually she would be using all the picks on the last locks. She wasn't letting anything distract her, determined to finish the job by her deadline.

Returning to solidness and veiw, he is now holding a multitude of weapons, and he begins to set up a small shack

She had about forty locks or so left. She stretched her arms up, then stood up and started walking around to stretch for a bit.

finishing his weapon shack, he puts them all in the shack, then locks it with a lock that looks like it isnt even possible "When the others come, I will distribute to them, you both already have yours."

"Ok." She responded looking over at him and the shack. Then she did a few flips and jumps, and then jogged around a bit. She returned to where her locks were, stretched once more, sat down, and started working on the rest of the locks.

"Spry little thing" He sat down, waiting

I could feel my energy waining and my breathing had become heavy, but I wasn't slowling down. I was determined to finish. '1...2...1...2...' I counted in my head as I swung the blade harder. I could feel the tree weakening....I was well over the half way mark. Swinging the blade into the tree once more I heard a snap. I pulled it out and let my arm stay by my side limply. I was panting heavily and wipped my forehead. The tree was quite weak...one strong hit and I could cut through. "..ok......" I said picking my Odachi up once more "...This time I'll cut straight through it!" I exclaimed charging with my blade out again, this time going through the tree.........

She noticed him sit down but didn't look at him. The number of locks was now down to twenty. She stopped for a second, rubbing her forehead and running her fingers through her hair, then continued working.

She is down to the last ten, using all the picks on these ones. Her face scrunches in slight pain because her hands are cramping some, but she keeps working dilligently.

I leaned on my old Odachi. I was panting heavily but I did it, I cut through the ancient oak. I opened my eyes at looked at the sky....it was starting to get dark...."I finished just in time..." I said, out of breath. I felt like I would rest a bit till I heard a snapping sound. I looked down at my odachi.....it had snapped in two.... "....Well looks like this one has had it...." I said dispossing of the broken blade. When I was done, I sat down and leaned against the stump that was left from the ancient oak.

She finally finishes the last lock, tosses it to her left, and puts her pick set away. She sighed, opened and closed her hands a few times, and also bent and unbent her arms a few times. She let her arms fall to her side and fell backwards onto the ground so she was now sprawled out on the ground.

The young Priest sighed, shifting her warhammer anxiously. She looked around, obviously unsure of herself. "By Lathander, I hope I came to the right place..." She saw Paxari and approached slowly, "Excuse me... Am I... in the right place?"

He walked to the shed, and removed a giant Hammer, bigger than her "Use this proud, and use it well."He then locked the weapon shack again and stood next to Illyana "You are to catch 400 fsh using this." He holds in front of her, a willow tendrill "you may scent it, but only scent, no hooks, no nets, only scent, you have 1 day."

She lifts her head for a second to look at Illyana, then drops it back to the earth. She stares up at the sky, not moving any except for her chest moving as she breathes. I did it...200 locks...and I did it... She thought to herself.

She nearly falls over when she tried to practice swing the hammer. "Urg...this is so big... and I thought the one I was training with back at the temple was big... anything I should know about this huge thing ...aside from staying away from pottery when I practice..." She glances sideways and blushes. When he hands her the willow tendril she starts, "...Only scenting? But... I have hooks...a net too! One day... 400 hundred fish...?" She seems bewildered for a moment before nodding. "I... shall do my best."

He patteed her "Belive in thy self and Ye Shall complete thy task."

She spoke, still staring at the sky. "Yeah, I just finished picking 200 very complex locks. Don't worry, you'll get your fish." She smiled.

She nodded, smiling. "Yes. It is a test, and I shall pass. Do I have to keep them, or is it catch and release?" She asked benignly.

"you are to keep them, and prepare them, using only a rock, a wet leaf, and a knife."He smiled knowing he was teaching her greater survival and wisdom

She sighs, sitting up. She stretched her arms out then stood up. She starts walking around again.

"oh...ok. ...Sorry little ones." She went off to catch the fish. She scented the end of the willow tendril and then grabbed her holy item and prayed softly before letting the tendril into the water. it wasn't long before she caught her first fish. it was a small fish, a yellow perch. She set it to the side, and used the rock to put it out of it's misery, as it was flopping and gasping for water. She resented it and set the tendril back into the water.

((You had better have got those 'heightened sences' approved by the topic creator, bane, but I seriously doubt it. If I don't know it's approved, I'm just going to ignore it. This is a serious TRADITIONAL rp fashioned from AD&D. Run everything through Paxari before posting any sort of spell, power, or ability to see if you can even have it. Within the constraints of the RP, some things might not even EXIST. Besides, you should already know what you have and know. Mainly because before you post, you're supposed to pm him about character details. Remember, in this thread, Paxari is a GM, and as such, sets the rules for the RP. Break them, and I'll just ignore your posts. The random and unapproved stuff has no place in the thread. I might give you an earful about proper RPing as well. Just be thankful I have no mod powers on the forum, I am rather caustic to people that break basic RP rules and etiquette in a traditional RP.

She continued fishing for some time, amassing a small pile of various fish. All of them were bludgeoned, so they hadn't suffered. She continued fishing, humming a hymn softly.

She watches them leave and then lays down on the ground in front of the weapons shack. She closes her eyes but doesn't fall asleep, staying alert.

She turns her head and looks to Paxari, while catching a fish. "Trying to make my task easier, or harder, hm?" She asks with a smile ans she pulls the fish off the willow tendril. it was obvious she had notched the end into a natural hook. "Well, I'm not using a hook, though I do have several. I used the knife to carve in some prongs. it holds scent better that way too. I don't need to scent it very often now." She looked to the growing pile of fish, as she bludgeoned and added the next fish to the pile, "I'll prepare the first batch when I reach one hundred. it won't take long, though. After all, before I became a priest, I was my father's daughter, after all."

Pulling from the water 2 fish, he chuckles "You are to Cook the fish on that rock with a fire started from a single wet leaf and 2 stcks, using only wet wood. This teaches character, and also, wisdom in survival."

I stood back up and put out the Vorpal Odachi from it's sheath. I held it up and examened the blade as it shone in the light. "It's a well crafted blade," I said putting it back in it's sheath. I looked over at Paxari and Illyana. 'She's quite good at what she does...' I thought as the wind blew my white silver bangs into my eyes and I brushed them out of the way.

She opened her eyes and got up off the ground. She walked around some more, feeling restless, swinging and twirling her staff as she walked. After walking a little bit, she sticks her staff in the ground. She pulled out her dagger, and started slashing and stabbing at the air. She made quick motions, moving in a wide circle around her staff. She was ducking, rolling, jumping, and flipping as if there was actually someone there fighting with her. Her hair kept blowing in her face but she never once paused to push it behind her ears or tie it up.

jumps into a tree and does about 10 chin-ups and then starts trying to slice down trees for fire.
"UGH!!!......UGH!!!.......hmm...the trees are pretty solid here,this could be meh training grounds...... i'll get much out of it i think....."
goes out and gets some medium-sized branches,stands them up,and creates a tent using cloth from an oxen hide

She pulls another fish in, and frowns. "I.. I worry how the harvesting of four hundred fish might effect the wildlife... I'll start the fire... I think." She looks at the materials she was given for the fire. "...umn...I've...never started a fire without a tinderbox and flint... I guess I'll try it the way my grandfather talked about..." she stared at the sticks for a while, trying to figure out something. it seemed to take her awhile, but then she took out the knife used for the fishing and cut a long strait groove in the larger stick. She started to use the smaller stick's point in the groove, plowing it up and down the groove. Nothing seemed to be happening.

He pulls 4 more fish from the water and goes to work, with wet sticks and all, and has a small fire going in the same amount time it takes her "You are a good learner"

Artemas quietly came upon the two fishing and watched awhile, sitting on a nearby log. "My, my. What a pair." She whispered.

She made one last quick flip, and stabbed the air hard. She looked down at the ground, smirking, and then sat on the ground with her back against her staff. She turned her head to look towards where the others were and smiled. She looked back towards the area in front of her, her breathing starting to return to normal, and she finally pushed her hair back out of her face. As she sat there, she surveyed the landscape surrounding her curiously.

"um... but I haven't got so much as a curl of smoke. I don't think I'm all that good....maybe I just need to work on it harder? ...or was it supposed to be the other way..." she looked at the sticks she held again, frowning. She shook her head, saying, "It must be a test of faith. I need only work hard and believe..." She continued her labors to get a fire going on her own, trying harder and faster then she did before. it took a little time, but eventually she got a small fire going on her own. She smiled, nodding. "Aya...Success...and none too soon...I think my arms were about to fall off from the effort...ha ha."

Artemas silently padded away from them, listenig to the forest awaken and start to shift. Good mroning, my sweets. She thought, smiling.

I began to get quite bored. Without a good fight there was nothing more to do then train. I thought I would try out my odachi, so I pulled it from the sheath on my back and heald it in both hands. "Time to test you out..." I said swinging it lightly in the air. It was well-crafted and sliced through the air easily. The sword was well balanced and quickly became a favourite of mine. "Hmm, I think I'll like using this in battle...." I said slicing though the air once more, but at a quicker pace. Soon I began multiple attack scequences, as if I was in the heat of a real battle.

She walked over to another furson and almost got her head chopped off. "Hey! Watch where you're swinging."

I looked at the one who had gotten in the way of my swing and stood up straight "....If I'm not mistaken...you're the one in my path....it would be wise of you not to approch someone in the mist of their training..." I said to them while sheathing my odachi.

"Well sorry, I was trying to figure out where I was. I'll just leave and let you get back to your training." Artemas replied, turning away and taking off at a brisk trot towards sounds of a struggle: "I wonder who's disturbing Them now.."

She looks over to see Paxari with both his katana out, talking to some stranger. Oh great... She thought to herself. She stood up and pulled her staff out the ground; she moved to stand beside the weapons shack (like she was protecting the weapons), looking at the two and watching curiously to see what would happen.

Arttemas grinned. "You think I mean you harm? Or disrespect? You are very mistaken thing good sir." She pulled out her daggers, laeving her rapier on her back. "To the death?" What fun this is going to be. I hope that just because I'm a woman and I use a dagger he won't think to go easy on me... Alound she called, "Don't hold anything back."

She saw the stranger draw a couple daggers. That's not good. Pretty stupid actually. She won't win. She looked on intently.

Artemas smiled at the girl, throwing her daggers swiftly into a tree a few inches from her ear. "Not a chance I say. That's why it's all the more fun." She laughed coldly and pulled another dagger from her knee high boot, removing her rapier and crouching in a fight position. "Give me your worst."

I pulled my duel wakizashi's from their sheaths "...I advise you stop this un-nessicary violence....." I spoke in a dark tone.

((Been reading the entire thread from beginning to end and i would like to join. However, before i do, i would like to say a thing or two.
Confused, Paxari is pissed off because you pissed him off. You didn't listen to what he said, you didn't appear to think things through and on top of that, you act arrogant and almighty when Paxari shows a little regret. My advice is to either take the bucket off of your head and try to rp seriously, because that's what this is, a serious rp. I can see that you have potential to do it, so if you really want to be here, please make an effort to. Otherwise, you can just leave. This is a rp that's SUPPOSED to leave you in the fog. You don't control ANYTHING, except your character and possibly a thing you can summon in a few levels. This is the way roleplays were before the great internet was every man's property. So deal with it. And just so it's said, i'm not trying to be mean. I'm just sick of your noobness. That is all.
Now then, someone pass a manual for how to join this. I've been wanting to join a rp like this for a long time... I have no clue how to do this, so... I require manual... <<

And yeah, I don't really know what I'm doing either. But luckily, Paxari is my friend and I talk to him all the time so he has shared some info with me on how to do this. Maybe if you ask him then he might share the info with you somehow. I talk to him on MSN so that's how I got it. :th_Pyong-1: ))
