Title: Zootopia
Post by: Setcho on June 15, 2015, 05:19:11 AM
hey, i just saw a new trailer for a film called Zootopia (if you want to see it just search it on youtube). And it got me excited because its about anthropomorphic animals running the earth instead of humans. its coming out in 2016 and i wanted everyone to know :3 so go check the trailer out.

I know that I saw it and was excited too.  They also seem to keep true to each of the animal's personalities.  The trailer that I saw was right before seeing Star Wars.  It had a bunny trying to get a sloth to run a license plate at the DMV but he was going too slow for her so she kept repeating herself.  Then, as he got to the last number, the fox that was with her says, "Hey, do you want to hear a joke?" I laughed so hard.  Here's the one that I saw: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY73vFGhSVk (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bY73vFGhSVk)

I've seen the trailers for it and I have to say I can't wait to see it in theaters. And for the lolz, go there in a fursuited costume =3 But this certainly seems like one really fun time.

I really want to plan a meet up, however I have no suit and don't think I could being the age I am now haha.
However I can't wait to see it. I'm planning to reserve a spot or save my free ticket. However there is lots of movies coming up.

I want to see it. But hopefully it is while school is in session so I don't have to get someone to drive me. I don't want them to remember the names of the characters because they'll be shipped to Mars and back by week 2 of release.

Actually, checking e621, they've already been shipped an ample amount.

I saw both trailers, I think the sloth part is funny although maybe a bit long.. The 'naturist club' thing not that as much, 'cause its not so accurate.

For the US furries I will be in the US possibly during release. If there is a meetup maybe I can attend?

Not sure why people are calling it "furries: the movie" Disney has made tons of movies with anthropomorphic animals in them, why is this movie any different?

From what I have seen in Disney movies (and I have seen many) is that the movies that come out in theaters are great and have content for the kids as well as the adults.  The TV movies on the Disney channel definitely have less quality and are more focused on kids.  Thankfully, Zootopia is going to be nothing like that.  Some of the clips that they have shown apart from the trailers makes it seem like it's a clever movie.

Heheh, Fur Affinity artists are going pretty crazy over it. XP

I think it looks like a fun movie. I might see it, although more likely I'll just get it on DVD or something later. I can't stand movie theatres, even if they show movies of even greater interest to me like The Martian or Chappie. XS

It's actually a pretty good movie with interesting characters that are built around their species and the conflicts they face as that animal, well written story that makes more than a few twists and turns along the way, and a message that holds very strong in today's society.

I watched it late and there were literally 7 other guys in the cinema with me. I definitely recommend it beyond being a furry movie.

Only criticism is that the first 20-30 minutes didn't feel like it had that much direction and that they were trying to flesh the movie out before things were properly going.
However as soon as the two titular characters clash, it gets very awesome, very fast.

Zootopia comes out on DVD today. I'm probably going to buy it when I get paid in a couple days. I've been in love with this movie since I saw in in theaters (twice).

I haven't, and currently don't have any interest. Which is a good thing because it would alert my parents, especially my dad, that something was up if all of a sudden I wanted to see a disney movies.

Ah that's ashame parents always being a pain in the ass, Luckily my parents don't care. (I think they actually forgot I was a furry)
Anyways it's a pretty great movie definitely gives out a good vibe.

I bet Mom would be... perplexed if I did all of a sudden. But dad? *dies* And it probably doesn't help I rarely watch movies, and the only ones I do watch are fairly hardcore war movies. Blackhawk down, Act of Valor, etc. Over the years I've built up this concrete solid I couldn't care less I'm only interests in fighting image. Helps keep the younger brothers inline, but I can't relax.

*smacks myself and ends the ramble*

Ask if ya'll could go see it for your younger brothers and say you want to surprise them...

1 Our family is strongly anti-disney
2 None of them have shown any interest in Zootopia
3 That would *gasp* cost money
4 I don't EVER ask dad for anything unless if there are severe consequences for not asking. Which is the reason my computer is still down...
5 That would be like the total opposite of me (alarm bells ring)

Title: Re: Zootopia

I made my own thread with a poll. I haven't the slightest idea what happened. Hey mods? :?  Did you combine them or something?
Title: Zootopia
Post by: Farewell on June 28, 2016, 11:37:09 PM
Yea the mods probably did, calm down. They were the same thread anyways.

Not quite. Plus, I get quite bothered when something unexpected happens. This wasn't too bad, but I can get really, REALLY agitated when something happens out of the blue.
Title: Re: Zootopia
Post by: Setcho on June 30, 2016, 02:07:51 PM
I asked evna, the mods didn't do it. i just wanted to know who did so they could tell me how they did it XD
Title: Re: Zootopia
Post by: Timmy Fox on June 30, 2016, 03:59:39 PM
I think it's simply a bug, normally you can only make a poll if you are the one who started the thread.
I'll assume since it was mentioned that threads may have gotten merged, it may have been as simple as that; Two threads got merged and one contained a poll which created a bugged poll in this thread.
Title: Re: Zootopia
Post by: Rocco Rex on June 30, 2016, 04:07:11 PM
But, according to Stecho, the mods say they didn't do it.
Maybe we have a mod with my sense of humor? XP
Title: Re: Zootopia

I have strong beliefs that they did.

This post look familiar, Rocco?
So, seen Zootopia?

Maybe not Evna did but someone else might have.
Title: Re: Zootopia
Post by: Rocco Rex on June 30, 2016, 04:31:31 PM
That's something I noticed, it was like a full merge. But the way Setcho said it, it sounds like the Evna said the mods as a whole didn't do it. Miscommunication is possible. But I guess it doesn't matter that much.

Zootopia just won the Golden Globe for best animated feature! No small feat when it was up against Moana and Kubo, but I think it deserved it.

Yaaay! that movie deserved it! so good!
(did you see any of the behind the scenes animation for that? with the amounts of individual moving hairs they animated on all the characters they deserve a LOT of awards!)

I've seen a little bit of the behind the scenes stuff. Supposedly they designed brand new fur simulation software for it. The detail it rendered the fur with was unbelievable.

I liked the setting; I was not so crazy about the characters. Judy was a pretentious nag who got away with subverting authority, Nick was a dumbass who had to have his tail saved over and over, and none of the voices really felt like they matched the characters. Not the worst movie I've seen in theaters, but definitely among those that ended up disappointing me.
