Title: "Activists"
Post by: George on December 12, 2014, 01:03:27 AM
I was gonna post this in regular ranthread then changed my mind.

I hate organizations and/or people who try to "do good" by being destructive lunatics. (like a certain riot)

Recently, that self-proclaimed "peaceful direct action and creative communication" [sic] organization to "defend the natural world and promote peace" [sic] known as Greenpeace cause irrepairable damage to the ancient sacred art known as the Nazca Lines. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazca_Lines) They drove their cars onto the site (a site off-limits to civilians, mind you) and walked all over it, leaving footprints and tire-tracks as they put up a huge advertisement for their company. (Archaeologists wear special shoes to avoid disturbing the sand. They look like this. (http://i.imgur.com/oL6Dchp.jpg) )

"I don't even know how they were able to get so close, not even presidents are allowed near the sites." -slenderdude, a user of imgur who posted an album of photos from the organization.

Activists are going to be allowed to do whatever they want specifically because they wear the title. Comparable to the movie star rank in society where you're allowed to live above the law and do what you want. Greenpeace activists (bad down here) had a small ship sail by the harbor of my relative's hometown. A Zodiac filled with bags and guys holding guns rode up to it and loaded the stuff on. Does this matter to the Police? Coast Guard? No. Because they are Greenpeace.

It's not that they will be allowed to do anything they want, it's that they will do anything they want as long as they think that it's a good cause and will do more good. They'll pretty much dismiss anything bad that could happen as long as they think something good will happen.

The only thing worse than the criminals is the law enforcers that let them get away with it.  :/

>Those riots in Missouri
>SJW massive dox threat chain attacks (online/real life)
>Anonymous/Lizard Squad shutting down PSN/XBL networks
>Increasing the arms black market by increasing laws, plastic knife/toy gun bans

Pretty much just like all of these events, people do whatever they want.

Yup. People won't stop rebelling because it's an obsession. People want to live their lives at the expense of others. It's sad to see all of this crazy stuff happening and want to support any of it.

Greenpeace are vigilantes.  Personally I don't like them much, but the only thing they seem to be good at is harassing other law-breakers (Japanese whaling vessels, er I mean whale researchers).

Maybe if legitimate authorities could deal with these villains there would not be a vacuum for Greenpeace to fill.

My two pet peeves are that they market themselves to young children and they only accept donation by regular direct debit.

If a non-profit organisation is too good for cash then I don't like the cut of their jib.
