Name: Icy Destination
Scenario:
Ten thousand years ago, an ice age swept the earth. Glaciers expanded over the land, sucking in water from the oceans and digging gouges into the earth. Thousands of species died out, many the largest to walk after the dinosaurs. Why it came about is debated, but all agree that it was a bleak chapter in earth's history.
Our story takes place before this dark time, among clockwork machines and steam societies. Before the ice age, Furry peoples thrived and explored the world around them, reaching for the snow capped arctic and the sand brushed deserts. Cities rose far and wide, as tall as the lowest clouds. Airships flew between the peaks of the buildings and mountains. All was well.
Now, though, the Furry people are dying. Food is growing scarcer, the world colder. Society is dying, and crime and strife run amuck. And above it all, disaster looms.
A group, five strong at the best, must try to find a new home for the remaining people around them. They must brave danger, hunger, illness, and cold, and even then, the future is not certain.
How many will survive the end of the furry society and the beginning of a new one?
Setting:
Steampunk apocalypse
Minimal fire arms
Eventually, the setting will localize to a single airship and will move together. Before that, it will take place in one city, Ruinse City.
Bias between species is alright, but don't pull any speciesism cards.
Try to get everyone in the same group, guys. If you want a bad character, you must make a good one first. The opposite does not apply.
Magic is MINIMUM. Elemental powers must be kept within the range of, say, avatar. No blood bending, no powers over death, no healing powers, no jumping the shark. Give a description of all powers, and work with the GMs on it.
Rules:
1. No God-Moding or powerplaying. Pretty basic, Seemingly rather tricky to keep from doing.
2. OOC AND IC ARE NOT TO INTERCECT. This means that, if something is revealed in OOC chat or on the OOC thread, you do not, for any reason, have your character immediately know about it. Case in point: A player reveals a character's backstory, linking them directly to the big bad. This has been hinted at IC, but the big reveal has yet to happen, and the character has told no one. Upon learning this as a player, your character CAN NOT act on this knowledge. This is a form of God-moding that puts a character as omniscient and often ruins what the other players want to do, dragging the spotlight back to the omniscient character and off the other players. If I or the other appointed mods see this, you will get one warning, then booted.
3. Do not drag more people into a roleplay or OOC simply to prove a point. If you can't prove it yourself, you should concede or leave. That's not to say you can't ask others already in the roleplay, just don't try to use people who are not actively participating to join you side.
4. Use your learnings, people. Proper English, in story format, is required at all times. No stars, no chat speak, no leet speak, no exceptions. You have spell check, you have time.
5. Do not be afraid to ask questions support each other. We are as much Roleplayers as we are people. Let's make this enjoyable for everyone, and do what we can to make this a good one.
6. We may or may not have a posting list. Either way, do not lap people. Give warning if you have to leave for a time too.

10. Long white and black fur, brown eyes, well muscled build. Prefers cargo pants or heavily pocketed loose pants, high boots, three quarter sleeve shirt, vest, and simple earrings. Sometimes wears gloves, sometimes not. Wears a long red coat out and about. Carries a knife and sword.
11. Hard working, Rachel is always up for a new adventure. She loves the open skies and making her own way, pushing her limits to the max. She can be short sighted at times, though, and often forgets to look at the consequences of what she does. She's caring for those around her, particularly children, but has been known to be overbearing around those closer to her age. Called in to get set for a new set of work, she's docked in Ruinse City, waiting for her instructions.

Normally wears Baggy black cargo pants with many pockets, Black shirt and jacket, and a cloth mask that covers her mouth and nose as well as fingerless gloves. Her left eyes is almost crystal blue(when she reveals it) while her right is emerald green. She is fit and toned albeit on the skinny side. Standing a whopping 4'10 tall her tail is as long as she is tall and very flexible. Carries a small knife and her trusty repeating crossbow(which she made herself.)
11. Shy and rather introverted Abbygael does appear to be cold towards others, although that is just because she has trouble relating to others. She is always interested in learning more and observing others.Despite her cold appearance she cars alot for those that do eventually break though to her and become her friends and is protective of them.

Okay. By the way, due to me being fourteen and all, I have school over the week of course, so I'll be gone for eight hours (6:50 A.M. - 3:00 P.M)

5. He usually prefers to draw in order to occupy himself

8. Close-Mid range combat, Crafting, Technician.
9. Long range combat. Hand-to-Hand. Mistakes can be made when he is crafting. Sometimes, he would rewire something incorrectly, causing it to break.
10. He has brown scales with black horizontal stripes going down his back. From his chin down to the front of his pelvis is covered in tan colored scales. He usually wears a black modified hoodie that has padding to make it resistant to fire. He wears pale blue jeans that have also been modified with some padding so they wouldn't be as flammable. As for weapons, he carries a steel baton and a flintlock pistol that has also been modified so it can use certain types of rounds, such as explosive rounds.
11. Marick is the curious and shy type of scalie that is bound to ask a question or two. When it comes to meeting someone he never met before, he would wait for them to talk to him first because he doesn't want people thinking that he is strange for suddenly starting a conversation. When they speak to him first, he goes with the conversation before asking questions. However, due to him never trying to start a conversation with others, he is very quiet, and sometimes, very lonely, causing him to miss out on things if no one bothers to tell him about the current events.

10. She has white fur, except for some darker fur on her back which forms a "T" from her shoulders to the start of her big, fluffy tail. She has big, ambar like eyes, along with a constant serious and/or tired expression. Ever since the start of the cold, she has been using layers and layers of clothes, mainly shirts and sweaters of blue-ish and dark colours, as also using hand-made mittens and a matching hat. In her feet, she wears dark leather boots. As for weapons, she carries a machete, which she uses to kill fish and to defend herself or whoever she's with at the moment.
11. Valen is usually indifferent and serious, though also shy and a little clumsy. She's very curious, and prefers to find out things by herself. She isn't very talkative, and only says what she feels needs to be said. Being also somewhat egoist and stubborn makes her hard to get along with most people, but she can be pretty friendly and sarcastic (only for the purpose of making others laugh) if she accepts you and get to know you well.

Fast thinking and planning require two different sets, as the former would mean she's set in her ways and can't improvise, and the latter implies she's quick on her feet but can't think far ahead. Did you mean she's not great at improvision?
I don't mind the weapon, just wondering how she catches to fish first. Machetes aren't especially good underwater. Does she use a line, net, spear, her paws...?

10. Basic Black and White with Ice blue markings covering his fur, along with one normal brown eye, and one shiny glowing Ice blue eye he tries to cover with his hood. He wears a Black and Ice blue vertically stripped cloak with a hood he normally has up, usually attempting to block an eye with, along with a dark grey tight shirt under the cloak, followed by semi-tight black cargo pants, and black fingerless gloves (Sorry for so much black...) Due to being a Husky, he's lived in the mountains most of his life, and has gotten used to the cold. Scout has always wanted to be known as one of the shadows the lurk, that could appear at a moments notice. Now's his chance to make that happen. Taking an interest in finding a new way around cities, villages, and small settlements, Scout has taken up the semi-new art of transport known as "Parkore" which consists of climbing buildings, speed, and fluid movement. Being resistant to the cold, he may be able to survive this ice age longer then others, but whose to say? Scout's light on his feet, and knows how to move. Fast. He may only be a mere trainee, but it would better to have him with you, then against you. He has only a small wrist knife tucked under his right sleeve, and the rest of the work is his Ice.
11. Quiet. Keeps to himself most of the time unless told upon by a superior. Subtle. He has a sense of humor, but in the line of work, it never tends to show very often. He can be a nice guy, but you have to get on his good side, let alone, earn his trust for him to let you in close.

9. Naive, typically passive, has little to no skill with building or repairing (finds it bafflingly difficult) doesn't know how to fight (and unwilling to harm others unless it's a life threatening situation)
10. The Silversmith family were once jewelers many generations ago, as their name implies, but lost their business to cheaper foreign imports. Many of the family were reduced to farming to sustain themselves. The Silversmiths were a resilient lot, though, and have since built up a gardening business, and live a comfortable life. Freidrich is the middle child of his family, and has opted to stay with his aging parents, helping raise his younger siblings, and tend the plants. He longs for a life on his own, however. He has learned herbalism from his now deceased grandmother, and uses it with his relative knowledge of medicine (studied at college) to help heal others. He also likes to drink, sometimes to excess.
He stands at about 6'3" in height (not including his horns, which are about 6" tall), with a relatively heavy frame, weighing about 240 lbs. He is fairly strong, but with relatively little stamina. His fur is mainly a grayish-white, with long gray hair tucked back into a ponytail, and a goatee. He typically wears a ruddy-colored vest/white button up shirt combo, along with a pair of dark pants with many pockets (often filled with whatever random things he's carrying about that day). He also almost always carries a messenger bag filled with herbs, seeds, bandages, and books.
11. Empathetic, generous, pacifistic, tends to bottle his emotions.

Not to criticize or judge, it may just be because I read it fast or something-misread, I don't know, but I'm not exactly sure where Tanerus (spelt that wrong didn't I...?) is or where Rachel is, if Tanerus (Sorry...) is docked or flying, and you said it *WILL* take place in Ruinses (I'm real sorry, I need to re-read it again... x_x), I put asterisks around will cause saying it will means that it won't straight off the bat...soo...just some things that I could use some help clearing...
I have an idea on how to start off, but I don't know if Tanerus (...) has been flown recently or if other ships have docked...and if they can, I don't have a name for another ship I could just quickly come up with to start from...

So I'm just gonna start out coming off of one of the other ships docked and see where it goes from there if that's okay...

Grrx, I like the profile for the most part, but you need serious faults. Emotional/character faults are one thing, but we need to know what you can't do. You said pacifistic, so can he fight but doesn't like to? Or never learned? Has he ever hunted? Does he have trouble with engineering? What about carpentry? Sewing? We'll need skills he can't do well, and that aren't likely to just go away.

6. Starting location: dock yard, scavenging for any usable/pretty items
7. Magic: none
8. Skills: because of her small stature and thin frame she is able to move around nimbly and is very adept at scavenging and pit-pocketing along with recon. She does sew somewhat.
9. Faults : she has a bad case of "sticky fingers" and tends to watch more than do. she is of small stature so her strength is limited and does not do well in hand to hand combat. (not formally trained in much...)
10. Description: standing tall at about three foot ten she is slender but her figure, if she was well fed, would be that of an hourglass shape. her fur is white with grey bits, when she is clean. most of the time because of the dust and dirt she looks to be a smoky grey/brown other than around her muzzle. she has green-blue eyes and her fur (keep in mind this is when she is properly cleaned)is soft and she has an extremely bushy tail. she sports two studs in her left ear and a loop in the tip of her right ear. most of the time she wares scraps of clothing she has found and mended
11. Personality: she is quiet and does not trust others much but has occasionally been know to group up with others if she can find a way to make it benefit herself. if she does get attached to a certain person she tries to shove them away and distance herself to avoid any emotional distress.
(ya... just kinda threw this together... hopefully you don't mind ^-^ it will be nice to get into an rp to get back into the swing of posting. ^_^ ))

I was waiting, as Grrx said. I like to know where everyone is and will be, though he'll likely jump in as he can. I know some like to wait a few posts, so long as he checks in here periodically.
Scout, give it a little time. Right now, everyone's just getting their pieces to the board. Conflict starts only after set up.
As a note, very soon I'd like to have a character approach each character. They'll be setting things in motion properly by hiring everyone.

Alright, seeing how I sort of threw out my ability to introduce my character into the beginning of the role-play, I was wondering if I could possibly make him show up towards the middle of it. For when they're no longer in the city, but out into frozen landscape.

scout, darling... glowing isn't subtle.. just a bit of constructive criticism, and it would make a tad bit more since that the air around his paws could get colder. this could cause his clothing (well his wrists of his shirt/jacket part of the pant leg that his hand is by) to become covered in a slight layer of frost. the light could glint off of it to sparkle a bit... but glowing? my brain is having a hard time x3 being old sucks... (the glowing is fine, but could you explain its use..? im confuzzled...)

He's ironically "warming up" his ice ability should something bad happen, and I didn't know what other word to use that would describe it...WEAK...that's a good word, it's meant to be a weak glow, not like a full blown glow...sorry...

Enigir here - In my enthusiasm I promptly posted to the RP without knowing just how to access the OOC Threads and figuring that I would find out about them when my interactions with them became relevant. It has now...
I'm sorry for my ignorance, it's no excuse and I know I made an infringement on the rules. I have read over all of the rule sections that I could find and I hope that in future I can have some fun RP times with everyone! I also removed my post from the RP as I felt that leaving it there was, well, stupid.

Occupation: None; as a traveler Enigir picks up what work he can for food, shelter and money. As a result of this he is fairly well equipped for domestic life. Great with coffee...
Starting Point: Is running towards the Taneris like a madman acceptable? Or picking through Runise City?
Magic: For the purposes of this RP, none.
Skills: Many and varied. He knows how to make excellent dishes out of the basest of ingredients and, should worst come to worst, mediocre food out of utter rubbish (although should I be asked to RP cooking scenes I'll have to look some stuff up...not to worry!). He is great with coffee and has a mild addiction to it. Other than that he can fix the odd leaky tap but nothing which would qualify him as an airship technician.
Faults: Apart from acting like a puppyish prat with friends around Enigir has this bad habit of slipping into the thoughts that make him cease up or become lonely. He dwells on his past and constantly regrets having left his clan. In these moods his purpose can be swayed by anyone wishing to manipulate him, although with his apparent intelligence level this may not be so hard anyway...
Description: I have given my RP Fursona many forms with special abilities but for this Standard form fits best - all of the above applies to the form. Said form is his simple Red and Black extra long Scarf, Light Blue with Grey and Charcoal design Jersey and his Charcoal Pants. He doesn't optionally wear shoes but if Health and Safety requires it he will not object. His blade is concealed in one of the legs of his pants.
Persona: Enigir is...a fool. Gotta love that! He delights in jokes and warm between-friends foolery but when push comes to shove he will do as he must. In combat he is precise and cold.
ADDITIONAL STUFF: I, Enigir's Player, haven't actually RP'd before (but I do delight in writing fictional stories solo and with friends via email and such, which inspired me to RP here - so please point out and forgive my first few mistakes. Then rip into me :D ) Point two: Enigir has an Imperial-class background and as such his blade skills are in theory exceptional. However should I find myself using him in combat I strongly suspect I'd suck. Point three: If this backstory doesn't fit the tale (I shall double check promptly) then it can happily be omitted for either a suggestion or something utterly out of the blue. I can see it now...Enigir the penguin farmer, all alone...)
Regardless of whether or not Enigir and I (his Player) fit the bill, happy flying all!

I actually quite like the bio. I'd personally like the second starting point, and perhaps having Enigir jump in with Creya in the next few posts. She'll technically be joining within a day or so in game as a crew member, and may recruit more people for the crew.

Posting order is unofficial. You only have to post at least once in between my own posts. If anyone wants to do a smaller, personal RP between two characters, simply PM it back and forth for a time, delegate one poster for it, format it, and label it as being from both posters. That way, we don't get fifty one line posts in between, or long pauses in between character convos. This will be especially important when we get further in and the group splits between areas of the ship.

If nobody else has the urge to play the part! Curious but; nobody's expecting a long detailed cooking show style script every time I set foot in there right? Also supplies - not expecting a detailed inventory but if there are certain things ya just can't buy anymore or if the Taneris has less of this and more of that then that's cool. Although if anyone feels another way to kill time between plot aside from cooking for a katana wielding idiot exists then poke me please :D

Sorry about the pauses. I'm about seven hundred miles from home at the moment. Don't worry, Enigir. You need only put the amount of detail you feel is necessary, like perhaps mentioning when you move around or mentioning what we need at the market when asked. You will not be forced to be only the cook, either. You are welcome to move around the ship as you please. :)
As a note to everyone, after Enigir joins us, we will really get the plot started. Promise.

8. Fairly strong, but his talents lie in his stealth, speed and agility, his keen senses, and his genius level intellect dealing with history, human anatomy, psychology, and strategy.
9. Like I said, keen senses. Hypersensitivity makes him vulnerable to bright light, loud noises, and strong odours. Also, sometimes he can go into a state of incredibly deep thought, almost as if in a coma, completely oblivious to his surroundings. This can be caused by either others showing affection towards him, or trying to understand his own emotion after an event, likely in a way traumatizing or bringing out strong emotions, all despite his abilities as a mastered psychologist. He also undergoes certain periods of extreme mental imbalance, with an unknown trigger, that causes him to be rather reckless and impulsive. This makes dark environments his territory, yet his strength can be easily matched, or even overpowered. Often times, he sees things as a game. An intelligent enough person can stop any of his attacks via clues that he loves to leave around. (And if anyone has trouble trying to solve, just PM me, and I'll help you out.)
10. Always wears very nice formal-wear. Generally seen wearing a white shirt, black suit and tie, black vest with a floral pattern, black trousers, black dress boots, black frock-overcoat, a plague-doctors hat with a black feather in the band. Piercing dark green eyes, sleek black scales. Very tall (7'11") and pretty slim, as well as a pretty long tail. Has a cane made of black, polished wood with a silver handle the shape of a raven's head. He also has a white porcelain plague-doctors mask. The cane's handle is also the handle to the sword hidden inside the wooden shaft. And also, along with his keen medical skills, he carries around a scalpel.
11. A cold, calculating man with no empathy, sympathy, or pity. Like I said, incredibly intelligent and also philosophical. Think of him as Hannibal Lecter as a snake with green eyes. With a mix in of V (from V for Vendetta)... and Slenderman from Marble Hornets. :D

Here is my character sheet. Just in case you need more people.
1. Name: Caspar Thansan
2. Age: 15.
3. Gender: Male
4. Species: White Lion.
5. Occupation: Cleaner.
6. Starting location: Airship Taneris.
7. Magic: None.
8. Skills: Problem solving, Skilled Mathematician. He enjoys fixing things and usually has spare gears on him to fix anything.
9. Faults: Insecure of his own abilities, he prefers to be told what to do than to lead a group. He has a slight stammer.
10. Description: Cream coloured fur, dark chocolate eyes, sandy-white mane, hazelnut tail, he wears brass goggles on his forehead when not outside, he wears them constantly outside as his brown eyes are prone to snow blindness. He wears a military trench coat at all times, he feels the cold a lot due to the fact that his fur is thin due to Lions usually existing in hot countries. He has tight, black trousers with a lot of pockets, which are usually full of his calculations he's done whilst bored.
11. Personality: Caspar is generally quiet and reserved, not speaking unless his input is necessary. He is happy with his current life aboard the airship, not minding his lowly job as cleaner. He occasionally fixes things that go wrong, he has a set of screwdrivers and other tools on him, he likes to try and see how things work a lot of the time. He has built his own machines before, such as an alarm clock which whistles loudly when it is time to get up. He is generally friendly to others, and will try and help them with whatever problems they have.

Don't feel pressured, sweety. Think of it as a chance to learn. :) Admittedly, that's why magic is more lowkey in this one. It's often easier to figure out a style and your limits, personal and group, when magic isn't always an answer. If you ever are curious on limits or ideas or anything really, simply ask.

Thereabouts. But in that time so much has happened...I've met great friends, I've done a ton of stuff IRL...restarting Icy Destination feels like a perfect end/start of another TFF arc!
Oh and do t be so humble your writing skills totally rock. You should teach me something sometime.
Actually I used to write like that but TFF has reshaped my writing from descriptive if environment to descriptive of innermost thought processes. Only because it's hard to describe what's in somebody else's head - but that inspired me to start yet ANOTHER new row hick will be fun for the three seconds I have internet, to be abandoned and forgotten forevermore...
