Title: Ugh, feel sick.
Post by: Count of Cutesy on October 09, 2013, 02:31:17 AM
Ever since yesterday I've had an ache in my belly starting after I ate lunch around noon, and I've had it ever since. I keep wondering what it could be. I also notice that my heart starts to ache at night too. I'm hoping it's not food poisoning or something,  but my parents just seem to think it's an annoying gas pain. I can't say I know for sure though. I've felt bad before, but this time it feels real. I don't know what to do this time.

I hate those types of sicknesses so much, seriously x.x

It could be a whole range of things, it's likely just to be some Gastroenteritis (A stomach bug). If it is, then yes it sucks and it's really bad, but the good news is it doesn't last very long, so you might be ok. If you haven't been experiencing vomiting, diarrhea or any of that other stuff, then it might simply be just a bit of indigestion, that can last quite a long time and can also be quite painful (It could also explain why your heart hurts, I've had that effect too when I experience indigestion). If it lasts more than 3 days, I would see a doctor about it.

EDIT: Of course another solution could be, as your mum suggested, gas pains. If you've started recently eating new foods, you may have an intolerance to one, or maybe you've (for example) eaten too much fiber, eating fiber rich food while not being used to said food can cause gas pains. I'm not a doctor and have absolutely no medical training, but here's just some suggestions.

I haven't experienced anything else yet, nor have I really changed my eating habits. I might be getting too much fiber, though. While eating Wheat Chex yesterday, the pain spiked while eating them and fell back down afterward.

In which case I recommend you push for your parents to get you checked out by a doctor.

I'm trying.

Edit: One thing I should add is that the pain seems to go away and come back as it goes, ranging from barely noticeable to not terribly painful but still rather annoying levels, but hasn't gotten excruciating yet. Also it seems to change from the bottom to the top of my belly area.

I'll be honest, it does sound a lot like gas pains. Your parents might be right.

I don't doubt them, to be honest. I should set up an appointment just in case it's something serious though. It's still going on.

Alright then, you don't have what I think you have. Because if you did you would notice frequent stinky gas.

Once about every ten minutes.

That sounds right. My burps taste like salad bacon. ...I can't smell my farts well, though. Out of curiosity, what do you think it was? Cause I still think it's gas.
