What do you do to show off that your a furry ? I wear wolf shirts and collect wolf stuff B)
-
Claim whole areas my kingdom *Roar*
Nawh, nothing too fancy, I walk on the front of my feet (much like invisible heels I guess lmao) but that's more something weird that creeped into me.
-
lol I sometimes use my paws when not in public
-
In public I've caught myself both making animal noises and walking on my front feat a few time :3 . I do have a few animal shirts and the like. I also have bought quite a few stuffed animals here and there along with various other decorative items ^_^ . Also I guess I've looked at this and other sites while out in public if anyone decided to peek my shoulder :P . As for not in public I sometimes when I first wake up or just relaxing do cat-like stretches which would probably look rather odd if anyone was around to see them XP .

Oii, never thought about the stretching part, add that to my message as well lol :3
-
I don't have any animalistic accessories or anything to show off, but if I did I'd be wearing them around everywhere. :P As it is, I mostly behave in somewhat animalistic ways, just my mannerisms and body language and such. I also make animal noises very frequently in public and private :3
-
I used to wear a collar but that started to hurt
-
(http://shqipria.eu/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/iUYNq.png)
Now that's out of the way :P
I have a cat's collar that I wear around my wrist, but that's about it :/
-
I used to wear a collar but that started to hurt
;o I would awesome so
::Edit::
Assume so.
-
I hide that I'm a furry, so no accessories or anything for me.
-
I prefer to be kind of normal, but I guess it wouldn't be too out of the ordinary to get some shirts and stuff. I might consider a collar one day, but I probably wouldn't wear one that often, since most people would just get freaked out probably.
-
I don't really do much X3 I mean I have furry fandom "liked" and in my interests on my main facebook page and on halloween/occasions that require it, I do furstyle (i.e. wearing tails and stuff), but I prefer to be that normal (well what you'd call normal...) guy who loves furry stuff X3
-
But wouldn't you think it's fun so show you're a furry in a way that wouldn't actually say that you are one?
Here we have a t-shirt brand called Fox.
Guess what my favourite t-shirt brand is?

You mean like how my favourite radio station around here would be 101.9 FM (Fox FM)???
The subtle ways are the best ways IMHO.
-
Exactly :D
-
last week in 2nd hour I barked by accident when a kid yanked out my headphones....embarassing. But most kids at my school would expect tht from me lol

I'm sure it had it's desired effect though.
-
sometimes when I get hurt I yip and sometimes I whine, but most people think it's normal because I make those sounds anyways XD
-
I've got a fleece had with fox ears on it! I really wanna put together a fox-themed outfit soon. It would require the hat, a pair of black jeans, a black thermal shirt, a pair of black fingerless gloves (all four of which I already own), a white T-shirt to go over the thermal shirt for my white belly, and a red plaid flannel to go over that with the sleeves rolled up to show my black arms. It would also be awesome if I could get a tail as a finishing touch. ^_^
I've also been thinking about getting a collar lately... Looks like I have a lot of stuff to save up my money for! X3 None of it should be TOO pricey, since the red flannel could easily be found at any thrift store, and I can just get a pack of white T-shirts for pretty cheap at Wal-Mart or something.
Also, I tend to make numerous growls/grunty sounds in conversations with my close friends as passive feedback, rather than saying, "Yeah, uh-huh." And when my three closest female friends tickle me, I often yip/screech/etc.
-
My sister saw my wallpaper, then my chrome theme and said
"you really like foxes"
i replied with "they're awesome"
she said "I know"
-
I swear, ever since becoming a furry I've had the urge to carry more things in my mouth. Like if I'm carrying a bunch of stuff at once, anything that can't fit in my hands goes in my mouth now. X3

:D one big furry family!

I wish I lived in a furry family

I wish I lived in a furry family
We're all a furry family, anyway! ^_^ Blah, corny. But it's true! We furs gotta stick together!
-
Truth be told the furry fandom feels moe like family than my own family :/
-
I just got my first tail and ears and now I'm wearing them around the house all the time! :3
-
I used to wear a collar but that started to hurt
anyone else wear a collar? thinkin' of getting one, do they hurt or just uncomfortable?
-

I wear a collar. They don't hurt but most of them feel uncomfortable when you put them on. But eventually you'll get used to them. :)
-

thanks, is it very uncomfortable? my necks super sensitive. I mostly wear clothes without collars cause I get uncomfortable when something is around my neck. :S
how does it feel compared with clothes?
-
I've been wanting to get a collar, as well. I'm interested in something leather... How would a leather collar compare to say, a nylon one, in terms of comfort?
-
I don't actually have any accessories, and I find myself doing the occasional bark or roar. Other than that, there is no way of tellig I'm a furry unless you're watching me draw :P
-
I don't have no animalistic accessories, when I feel more "feral" as you could call it I may make the odd sound or two (small howl, whine, small bark, growl), I suppose, and I'd stretch forward so my arms are in front like fore legs. I also like to sometimes hold things in my mouth, and I like to sometimes play with my family's dog when they're playful though my parents and others I've known don't. I kind of not try to be open about that, though, I think my parents would find my behavior a little odd. I like to look at furry art and also often films/cartoons with animals / animal characters in them, anthropomorphic and non-anthropomorphic, although for animation I prefer the more traditional/2D variety to 3D.
Also, I like to wear wolf t-shirts, too (the few that I have, anyway :P), but I don't wear them all the time, but I do also have other species, one top I have has a dragon on it, for example.
-
i just have fox themed clothes and jewlery
-

I think leather would be more comfy but I havent tried ^^
I'd want my collar to be nylon cause its more furry to me, alot of people wear leather collars for other reasons not only furs :3
unsure whether to get one & try it, I mostly hate any clothes round my neck but i want a collar, crazy i know :D
-
I keep my drawings on my wall so everyone that has been in my room knows. Also probably a bunch in school have a hunch because I often sketch while sitting in the café or classroom, so everyone is free to peak over my shoulder. My parents know because I've told them, since I wouldn't want them to search for it themselves. You know what happens when you type "furry" into google images. So I've just made it a habit to tell people if they are the slightest interested and the rest is just luck that there are so many nice people around. ^_^
-
I wear a darkgreen nylon collar just to be different.
Because of the colour it does not really stand out but i still get the occasional question about it.
Most people react neutral or like the fact i wear something strange... only 1 out of 10 actually say i'm crazy.
-
I don't really own shirts or anything, i make noises occasionally, i want some ears and a tail, a wolf ushanka would be cool, OH! and I have my wolf pillow pet! XD
-
While I would, I'm too broke to really have anything to show it off.
Though I do have a necklace, which is a bone U-shaped curve with spikes on it, supposed to depict a dolphin's tail. Also very intricately carved patterns on one side. Funny thing is, from the day I've had it, it's always resembled more of a dragon tail to me, especially with the spikes. I've worn it ever since.
Hooray for cameras;

-
I have a bear paw mood necklace I got from the Brookfield Zoo in Chicago. :3
-
I wear a black and purple nylon collar that I found at Wal-Mart with a tag that has my name on it that a friend gave to me. Surprisingly, I've never had anyone inquire about it except for my mother when I first started wearing it around my family. And then there's the occasional anthro drawing.
-
A Japanese student who studied at my university last year is coming back, and my friend—who was her official buddy when she first studied here—had written her a special welcome note. I wrote her one myself yesterday, and at the bottom of the page, I drew an anthro fox (would have been me if I had drawn glasses on him). ^_^ I'm actually quite proud of the little sketch, especially in terms of how the face turned out. :D

Well, I purchased a tail at Fur Rondy, Alaska's celebration of the Trappers and Miners coming to the city to sell their bounty, two weeks ago. My parents knew I bought it and as soon as I had paid for it, I hooked it onto my belt loop. Neither of them said anything, and I've been wearing it around the house for the past two weeks. Last week, I wore it to the Running of the Reindeer. No-one said anything, but I suspect that would be because 1) it was Fur Rondy, and 2) I was wearing my reenacting gear, which is by far, much weirder. I find it easy to wear in public, because I have an "I'll never see you again" attitude, but wearing it to school is something I'm still considering.
Also, today I was drawing my fursona in class, and I got up to get my assignment, and my art got noticed by my two friends. One is a big fox fan, and he wanted to keep it, and the other is a Brony, and an animator. I ended up letting my Brony pal take it home, because he wants to scan it, then animate it with Flash. He also asked my if I liked furries, but the subject was dropped when the teacher told us to get working. On the bus ride home, we were talking again, and an odd question popped up, but the end result was that he knows that I know what "yiff" is and that I generally disapprove. So yeah - an awesome day.
-
I don't do much to show that I'm a fur, however, during spirit week in school sometimes we have a "camouflage and animal track day" in my eyes that means I get to wear a tail in school :P I even got my picture taken with the tail on for the year-book. ^_^
-

I'd love to be able to wear my tail to school, but I'd be worried it'd get really dirty or messed up somehow. If it wasn't confiscated first or something >.> As it is I just have a little badge with a fox on it that I wear on my backpack.
-
I've really been wanting to get a Pawstika T-shirt! Also, I've been experimenting with a rolled-up bandana tied around my neck like a collar. Not so tight that it chokes me, of course, but it hugs my neck pretty snugly; more so than the typical style of wearing a bandana around one's neck.
-
I just bought a stick of Foxcrest deoderant from the Old Spice Wild Collection! XD
-
I've got a tag and collar. The tag says, "Best Lizard." :3
-
I've got a tag and collar. The tag says, "Best Lizard." :3
Awesome! Where did you get it? And did the people there find it strange that you'd be putting a collar on a lizard? XD
-
People might think it's strange, but I never paid them any notice. Sometimes I'll also wear one of my various tails out in public just to be awesome. I've got a small wolf tail and a 4 foot long lizard tail. The longer one poses a problem usually as it more than just drags on the ground.
People might think it's strange, but I have my fun anyways.
-
Well, I never said we should mind if people think we're strange. ;) I was just trying to picture their reactions when you wanted "Best Lizard" inscribed on something not normally worn by lizards.
-
Ohhh I see what you meant now. Sorry for that. I actually got the tag as a birthday present last year. And the tag was ordered online from what I remember. They might have had a snicker to themselves in what ever corner of the world they handle those orders, but it's not something I was fortunate to witness :(
-

Haha, it's ok silly snake. ^_^
I've been tempted to look at collars in the pets sections of stores as of late, but I always decide not to, for fear of getting unusual looks if I try them on. Which I would of course need to do, if I intend to buy one. >.> And I know what others think doesn't matter, but I still get self conscious most of the time. >w< I just need to keep reminding myself to save up some money so I can afford one from the collar factory, lol.
-
Your excuse could be, "What? You've never seen a customer trying on collars for their own dog?". That's sure to work! And if it doesn't get rid of the stares completely, you still have the satisfaction of knowing how good you look.
-
Ha, that sounds like a great idea! Perhaps I'll finally browse a bit next time I have the chance, then. :)
And thank you, hehe. ^_^
-
Ahahaha, shit, if I tried that here you have no idea how much stares that'd be getting. Quite a little amount, most of them are running away like AHWTFISHEDOING :P
-
stickers on my laptop, a collar, my laptop background
-
Well, my laptop background is obvious. My chrome browser has like 5 furry related quick-select tabs constantly visible too, but I'm the only one that ever gets to use my laptop :P
My family knows I'm aiming for Creative Writing as study, and are obviously asking towards my writing. Seems I'm going to explain alot sometime soon, since I'm close to finishing a requested story I promised to show, and it's furry/tf so seems inevitable now :P
-
Ah, my laptop background is a wolf samurai in a suit of awesome cyber armor! ;3
-
I wish the stores around here had nicer looking collars. Even the big franchise pet store here has only single colored ones. The collar that I have was the only non-bland one I could find, and that was at Wal-Mart.

You're often likely to get unusual looks full stop for collars, sometimes with tails/ears (although this is sometimes considered fashionable, especially to, say, certain club scenes, anyway), it's why if I ever had them I wouldn't wear them in public for fear of being attacked or being considered odd.
I think full fursuits are often cool in public as people will think "oh look a mascot, they must be doing something for charity (etc)", though either brings attention to hate and I know plenty here that'd hate on anyone showing their furry side. I've never considered getting a tail because it just doesn't feel real enough to me, those made from animal fur I find pretty outrageous it's like a form of cannibalism to me and often involves unnecessary death. If I could afford a fursuit I'd no doubt get one, though I don't want my parents to know about my interest in furry (stereotypes n stuff) so I'm pretty stuck right now, but I'm still figuring out a primary furry character for myself (fursona) that would be conveyable with a custom suit. I don't want to be associated with those who scream furry pride at everyone, furry isn't a race it's a mutual interest, a community and a fandom and I'm not remotely nerd-ish (at least I'm never described as such) so I generally avoid such associations in public, it's also often considered indecent to project any animalistic qualities. Though, I never go out, anyway, especially not on my own, I have life-affecting phobias.
-
I just ordered a hat from PawStar yesterday. It'll be interesting when it arrives - my mom asked me about my tail twice yesterday. If she asked again, I'll tell her.
Also, I'm thinking about getting a collar, possibly from the collar factory. I've got a neat pendant that can double as a tag, and of course, my dogtags.
Personally, I have no problem with wearing my stuff out in public - people judge each-other all the time. So, if they're gonna judge me, I say "let them judge the real me". Besides, like 99% of the time, you won't see the people you see in a single day ever again - that knowledge helps me when I get all self conscious. I suppose everyone has their different reasons for wearing tails, ears, collars, ect. I wear mine to identify myself as a furry and so other furries can take notice, and because I find the stares and odd looks kinda fun. I wouldn't say I have "furry pride" - I have something along the lines of "furry neutrality". I'm not yelling out "Hey, Imma furreh! Look at me!", nor am I ashamed and try to hide it. I just be myself and let people deal with it.
-
I love PawStars, that's where I got my ears from :3
-
Both my ears and my tail are from PawStar and I couldn't be happier with them! :D
-
I have a color but typically i straight up tell people whe introducing myself
-
I act furry, (if that's possible.) I just act weird and most of my movements are over exaggerated.
-
I dont think anybody would care if i wore ears and stuff i already were a german black and red trenchcoat everywhere and nobody cares either people are tolerant or im invisible :o *has a idea of what to do and flies away*
-
I wear a heavy leather jacket, it feels tough and is the closest I will go to wearing scales in public XD
-
I don't have a need to wear my tail in public every day. I do if there's an occasion, or I just feel like being silly, but that's rare.
-
i wear a replica of renard queenston's hoodie
-
I don't, but I've been debating whether or not to get a hat from PawStar.
But I think it would look dumb on me so I don't know XP
-
It really depends on who I'm around. I've been reluctant to reveal that I'm a furry publicly, because of misconceptions about what furries are and what they do. If I didn't live in such a conservative area I might identify myself a bit more.
But when I'm around friends who know that I'm a fur, I feel more comfortable being "in character" to a degree. I most often act like my fursona Sky, a genetic experiment inspired by Lilo and Stitch. He's shy but playful, and slightly feline-esque. I don't draw too much attention to myself, though. It's mostly voice. My Fox fursona usually comes out when I'm feeling calm and confident...or flirty. He doesn't have a different voice from my own, so being in character for him is all about body language. :)
-
being in character for him is all about body language. :)
Speaking of body language, I'll often hold my paws in this position when I'm around my close friends and acting particularly foxish:
That, and I'll also sit on the floor in a rather foxish positition. And when something confuses me, I'll tilt my head to the side. XD
(http://logik.li/images/fuchse/Red_Fox_Sitting_Cropped.png)
-
*looks up* Good lord, what was I thinking?
Okay, there's an extent to the "furry" apparel I would be willing to openly display. I really have no desire for anything that explicitly shouts "Look how furry I am!" because I don't need or want that type of attention.
Basically, I'd rather get something like this:
http://foxloft.com/store/shirt/caragriffin (http://foxloft.com/store/shirt/caragriffin)
than something like this:
http://foxloft.com/store/shirt/doggystyle (http://foxloft.com/store/shirt/doggystyle)
if that makes sense.
-
And that shirt looks good. (The first one.)
-
I'll often growl back at dogs that bark at me. I tend to wear a pink leather collar around my neck, although for a while I didn't have one because I gave it to someone to hold onto and they never gave it back. My main Facebook profile picture, is the same one as my forum avatar. Equally my Facebook page, either of them, features some of my artwork as covers and whatnot. My Youtube channel has not only an image of my fursona on the cover art, but she's deliberately pointing to a link for my FA page. Not sure if it's related, but I also like to hug people. :3
-
Uhmm...
*points to avatar* I use the same avatar for other forums I'm on as well as my whatsapp and facebook profile pics. I don't really like have any burning desire to get paws or tails or collars. I guess I'm a furry through all the anthro art that I have been appreciating for so long.
....although just for once, it would be nice if I can try on a huskeh partial suit >.> <.<
-
I show off my art to people close to me, who in turn spread the word to others if I come up in conversation (I love eavesdropping on people). Sometimes I get commissions that way! ;)
-

I use my avatar here for just about everything I can have an avatar for on the internet XD

I havent really shown off the furry side of me much, however I have gotten into this habit I have were I growl to myself when I frustrated or just messing around. I occasionally howl to the best of my ability when Im stressed, not a loud howl but more suttle.
-
I howl, bark, play with all dogs :P wear a tail, openly support the fandom and a million other ways! :D :D :D
-
Be careful with that. You can do that but I would just say be careful with that.
-
I just have a simple wolf paw print tattooed on my forarm

Hmmmm maybe I should get a tail for myself perhaps? :?
-
Two words: Steam Spray.
-
I wear collars sometimes
bark
meow
scratch people
whimper
play with my friends like we're puppies!!
-
They sell tails at kings island. They have all kinds of colors. I sometimes wear it at the zoo and around in public. People ask "where did you get that?" And I just say (kings island.) I haven't got a rude remark yet.
-
I wear my collar.
I have a reflex where I kick when I'm scritched behind the ear or feel loved when being pet.
I tend to meow from time to time.
I do feral kisses (Licks)
-
My name does it for me :)

close but nope more about the star and the origin of man. Plus i like the idea of the full name being Sirius Wolff :P
-
does having a kitsune mask count as showing furryness?
-
As a therian I'd use to do a lot of body language and sounds, but was bullied out of it, now it seems like if I do even when alone someone will attack me but I do show it from time to time still. As a fur I enjoy roleplaying, plus there's also elements of my human life I can introduce.
There's of course the internet and how much my hard drive on comp and other devices is full of furry and furry-related stuff.
But to demonstrate I am furry, I will just let you observe what site I am one right now :3
-
In no way in the public, except for cons and meet ups I occasionally wear my tail and ears.
-
...I know I posted in here earlier, but...
I really want a way to show that I'm a dragon furry (or scaly if you prefer), but I can really find something that is subtle but still makes me feel a bit closer to my fur(scale)sona... Anything I try seems too cheesy, and that doesn't mix well with working with adults that resent that you have a "higher" position than them... :(
I do wear a leather jacket sometimes... but it's summer...so...

You could wear dragon scale chain maille. Like a bracelet or necklace, or just a leather cord necklace with one or two scales on it that are the same colors as your scalesona.
There are lots of dragon-themed pieces of jewelry, some more subtle than others.

Wow, I feel slightly stupid... XD why didn't I think of that! Thank you!

Idk, I wear the odd furry shirt, but that's about it. I tend to show off my Brony side more.
