Hope you fancy ^_^ and please critique . This is from my dA account (which is kinda new and empty) http://byracka.deviantart.com/ (http://byracka.deviantart.com/) It's a redrawing of an older sketch, for a contest on that very same site.
Here is the original, two years experience apart.

I like it a lot, Byracka :)
It's good that you've uploaded the older version too, I see the diffrences, you've improved, that I can say :)
Nice pose, the stones lokos nice and old/eerie looking, and same with the trees. I think you've drawn the water very good too.
And i'm not sure what you think about this idea, but maybe some more (and darker) shading can make the picture come more to life, what do you think?
-
Thank you! I was so happy with the linework and textures that I completely forgot about setting a light to the scene. I'll drag out my B8 and maybe some watercolours and see what I can do. Most likely I'll destroy it XD but even then I'll show the wreck.
The main difference between them, is that I now know how to draw hands, so I don't need to 'hide' them anymore.
Thank you Ven
-
Then if you think you would destroy it, why not copy it? Then you can colour in the copy, without worrying about the original :)
Yes, hands are difficult, so I'm gald you've now shown them ^^
No problem, I hope you didn't think I was 'downgrading' your work or anyhting by the way O.o I was trying to help, so I'm glad you thought so too :)
-
You can be even more honest about every little flaw or tidbit on your mind. I'm pretty rough skinned when it comes to critiques. So I really appreciate your time :3
And if it gets destroyed I don't mind the least. Can't be too attached to your drawings, experiment, have fun and learn without any stress. ;)
-
OK, good to know :)
And no problem ^^
Allright then, experiment all you want to XD
I'd like to see the end result :3
-
Awesome :o ^_^
-
Awa, thank you so much Frozt :3

Took some advice from Ventus Fall :3
-
Looks very nice :D
Almost looks as if there's also some light coming from the back, very nice ^^
-
The eyes are looking towards a totally different diraction because I had unsteady hands, put an ink blob wrong and had to save the whole thing. T_T But then it ended up good anyways. If there's anything more on your mind regarding the sketch just speak you tounge XP
-
Very nice, very very nice work.
As you can tell from the forums, I'm an artist as well, and would love to get a critique of my work from a fellow artist.
-
Thank you, I just read through your introduction post and I'll happily read your comics and look at anything you've drawn and see if I can be of any help ^_^

Oh, also nice, very surrealistic ^-^
I like the coloured landscaping, good job :)
-
You do some really nice background/scenery work.
-
Thank you Ventus and WingedZephyr. Scenery is something that's often forgotten, which is sad, because it can really enhance a character piece.. or completely ruin it obviously :)
-
Looking good! :o ^_^
-
Thank you Froztfox ^_^
-
Your work is good. I do have a couple of things which may have been noticed by you, however.
Your skill with backgrounds far exceeds your skill with people (which itself is excellent), leading to a more disjointed image. At least, that's what I noticed from the first post. The second, is the snake head. It's too small for that large of a body.
Also, the side-view headshots of those guys looks really cool. Also, me in charge of agreeing with Winged Zephyr.
-
Thank you for the comments Daemon. I started drawing backgrounds and scenery far before I did characters. So there's a large gap in skill that needs to be evened for it to look less disjointed. Ahh yes the snakes' head, I think I was fooled by those, what are they called, neckflaps?? and counted them too much into the size of the head, which in itself, should, be much bigger!
The sidewiews came out of the fact that I didn't at the time know how to draw hair and eyes, so I replaced it with something more imaginative and it turned out pretty cool.
-
I have to learn how to draw backgrounds, so make a tutorial! >:3 ^_^
-
Ha ;) well it's impossible to make a single tutorial covering everything, backgrounds, landscape and scenery is something extremely diverse. Obviously. Though I can of course tell you what I know and I'd love to help if there's something in particular you can think of.
I'll think about what would be a good way to start!

It's beautifull :O
Pose is very nice and dynamic.
-
Loving your work Byracka, both characters and scenery! You have an attention span and attention to detail that I can't say I don't envy.
I wish you the best of luck in your artistic endeavours and hope to see more soon!
-
Thank you Ventus :3
And thank you Sn0w, I also have alot of patience and free-time :P
-
Wow, this is really beautiful work Byracka! I agree, both the character itself and the scenery are astonishing. I love all the little details you put into things like the ground and trees, it makes it feel like a real scene and not like you just wanted to make a generic portrait. I look forward to seeing more! :)
-
Once again, Byracka, your work astounds me. However, in the last image, I think you may have overdone the fur a bit. But, that's just me, as when I draw anthros, which is very rare nowadays, I put tufts just on the ends of elbows, down thighs, and where it would generally be seen as naturally excessive in humans, like forearms for guys, or the chest. But I am not you, so you keep doing what you find comfortable.
-
Thank you NovaSpending hours with a razor sharp pencil drawing leaf by leaf, that's a good way to spend the day ^_^ And I try to make my best everytime.
Thank you Daemon.
That's a good point, often it is good to spare the details. I have learned to do that with the scenery, leaving the background and many spots white and rid of detail, so that the drawing isnt' overdone. Personally I love when there are small little tufs everywhere. But I'll definitely try your tips, see what can be made!
-
Awesome! :D

This drawing is now in the states, one of many presents sent to a dear friend.
-
This is Byracka. One of my three fursonas, he is a white german shepherd. The other two will be posted soon. ^_^

-
That's a cute drawing. :3
-
:o
Nice pic!
Youre far better than me D: ^_^
-
Awesome job Byrack! :D Great to finally see exactly what your fursona looks like. ^_^
-
WingedZephyr - Thank you :3
FroztFox - Thank you. If you want to get better, which I think you have already, then study more actively. Learn that this is how you draw that or this. Of course, knowing how to study effectively can also be tricky to figure out.
Nova - the never ending tease has begun!
Thought this would be interesting to someone. You can kinda see the underlying figure here. I forgot to take a photo of that :[

-
I think you've found a new fan, I'm in love with your work o.o especially the coloured landscape God I love that one.
-
FroztFox - Thank you. If you want to get better, which I think you have already, then study more actively. Learn that this is how you draw that or this. Of course, knowing how to study effectively can also be tricky to figure out.
Thats exactly what im doing, (or at least trying to)
And those pics made me realize one detail that im gonna think of, thanks ^_^
-
Nova - Millions, millions! MAhahaha!.. As my personal left hand, you are entitled to a portion of the cash I bring in, you will afford to feed yourself..barely.
ImaLionRoarr - D'awww many many thanks :3 Comment like these helps you to get through those long hours of drawing not getting any good, to the ones you actually achieve something.
FroztFox - Glad they helped with something. I didn't think of them as any sort of tutorial so this was a neat surprise :)
And with this drawing I have filled my canine quota, soon I'll bring new species into the play with my additional fursonas.
The grapes are a bit small, probably sour. Wrist is also too bulky. I should stop complaining.
-
Awesome work Byracka, I haven't drawn anything since I was in public school but youve inspired me to get back into it!
-
*Hugs Snow* Glad to hear ^_^
-
I like :3
How did you clean the lines in the figure construct so well even though the pencil is middle grade?
-
With a kneaded eraser. You can do fine without them until you actually try one, then you'll never leave the house without it. :)
-
So it's better than vinyl/plasticky erasers?
-
They don't dry as quickly, or at all. You can roll them to erase small parts and they generally takes away the lines you want to get away.
-
Sounds cool. I try to use a tablet PC instead now because there are no pencils here, I end up eating them... :3
-
My part of an art-trade with Ventus. Her character Suirrel stands tall and handsome :)
-
My my he is a handsome fellow... Quite a fantastic tail! XD
-
You already know this, but.... It's amazing ;D
-
Thank you Nova, the tail was the best part of it all! x3 You're welcome Ventus ^^
Okay so it's not finished but I don't want to finish it because there's other drawings I want to do.
-
It is a good tail but I thought the face could use some more thickness to it.
-
Thank you Nixon :) It's not the first time it's been pointed out that I've made the face too small, now I am even more aware and will take caution the next time.
I'm following a anatomy course from alienthink.com if anyone is interested where I get my resources from.
So this batch is about anatomy, so far I've progressed through the entire skull and have the proportions of the ribcage down pretty good. The scapula got it's share of attention.

-
Dude..nice job!
-
Thanks a bunch ^_^
-
More chest and skulls, changed a bunch of angles in the sideview of the skull since I got my hands on a plastic replica of a human skull in school. The Hamlet jokes kept flooding in as I sat down studying it...

First (and somewhat botched) attempt at the spine and ribcage. Got a bit too rushed but hey, it's a something :)

Looks great to me. :) I can't draw skeletons. I am more cartoony. Is it ok if I post some of my drawings?
-
Well, I looked in the rules and there's nothing that says against it. But I'd rather that you start a tread of your own and if you don't want to do that, but still want me to see your drawings then you can always send me a Pm with links to them.
I couldn't draw skeletons a couple of months back either :P and I still really can't, just the skull and ribcage so far.
But yeah, I prefer to draw in a more cartoony style too, still want to be able to draw anatomy, proportions and poses realisticly if needed though. :)
-
Is it ok if I post some of my drawings?
Unless it has something to do with Byracka's art, please make a thread of your own.
-
I will. Pm you. Soon, like now.
-
Very nice art man<3
*Points at Profile Picture* ^^
-
Hihi ^^ many thanks
-
So far very proud of this one, will take me some time to finish it :P
Part of a birthday gift to two of my friends, with their characters sitting to the right and mine to the left. Inspired by Shinobis drawing of his friends Sarah and Patrick playing D&D and of course my own adventures in that game.
First indoor scene I've ever drawn, so it's going a bit slow. Pillows are suprisingly difficult! Also, the drawing is interesting because all three charaters are in different states of touch up, ranging from simple sketch to more refined.

So what do you think about it? :)
Also, skeleton.

-
I think it is also pretty neat that you see all the different fases of drawing. And so far you're doing a pretty good job on interior ^^
I like the shading and shape of clothing too, you're making me very jealous XD
As for the skeleton drawing, it also looks pretty amazing ^^ Keep up the great work.
-
If I would have taken a photo of the first phase there would onle be ellipses because I moved around the characters size and placement until I found something doable. :3
Since it's pyjamas and cozy themed then there's a lot of pillows, blanket and loose clothes. So it has been a challenge to draw. Pillows especially, freaking pillows.
*hugs ventus*
-
That's all looking pretty damn amazing, keep up the awesome work! :D
-
Many many thanks Nova :3
-
What are those bottles? I want to know what drinks those are :|
No but in all seriousness you're really good at drawing, dude. Keep up the good work! I look forward to seeing more of it :)

I think the current poses look pretty well and suit the 'ambiance' you're trying to create ^^
Freaking pillows! *pillow flip* (Remember that? After I lost the game with the dragon fort game thingey? XD )
*hugs back*

Many thanks trasherhuskeh :3
You really think so? EEeeee! I'll only get better ^^
-
It isn't everyday you see well done pencil-drawn art on the internet that makes one go "wow", but you have done that to me today. Thank you for sharing these, they really are lovely.
-
Wow! :D very good dude! Keep it up. ^_^
-
KoalaJen ~ Thank you it means a lot that my simple uncoloured pencil sketches are so appreciated ^_^
Hinoko ~ Thank you, I will definitely X3
-
You have lots of great work in here ..can't wait until I can get such detail like this
-
~Lyzer. Thank you so much, very appreciated :)
Some time ago I made my very first fursuit head. Took me 2-3 weeks to finish it. A bit scruffy, a bit uneven and a bit uncomfortable but I just love my little grey dragon. *proud amateur builder*

Byracka feels the wind!
Few days ago I ran until my legs told me to stop. I apologized and then we slowly wobbled home. My hobbies right now is to sit down and avoid stairs, both cause trembling muscles and general 'ow f*cks' to be exclaimed.
