--A faint light. A flash of sorts. The next thing the young girl knew was that her throat was slashed, along with her vocal chords. Of course, she'd passed out from the pain, but she barely managed to survive, being shadow touched. She'd died nine times, only to be brought back- --
Avine Arkane shook the memory from her head, turning her attention back to the conversation being had. She signed to her friends that she had to go, and waved to them, wandering down the corridors. "See ya Avine!" They called after her. She waves yet again, giving them a faint smile. Her slit pupil eyes focus on the ground, though she was lost in thought, not looking where she was going. Gripping the strap of her messenger bag, she continues walking, unaware of where she was headed.

Lokyar wanders down a corridor, magical duels ending as he passes due to spells being multiplied in power several times over. He is deep in thought, a memory flashing through his mind again and again.

Twas a dark and stormy night, clamoured by the sounds of a revolt.
A large complex was devoted to experiments and the inmates were breaking out. Lokyar was in the middle, empowering counterspells and fireballs alike. He was unaware, as he cradled a fallen friend, as he died to a curse cast by their captors. He watched him die, again and again.

He walks straight into Avine.
"Oh! I'm so sorry! I should have been looking where I was going."
He smiles at Avine.

Avine looks to Lokyar and smiles, the white scar showing clearly on her neck. She signs him a hello, then an apology. She bows to him several times, being polite and somewhat timid.

Jackal hopped in the window of the school on his normal trip to the library to learn. Since he had no way to pay for school, he just went to the library a lot. However, he didn't expect that he's find two people right in his path, and flopped to the ground in front of them. "OOF!" he said, picking himself up and dusting off his pants. He looked between the two of them. "Um... sorry."

Lokyar notices the scar and thinks quickly.
'So this is the headmasters daughter...'
"Do you want to grab a coffee together? I don't wish to upset whatever boyfriend a beautiful girl like you must have, though!"
Lokyar winks.

Her eyes widen slightly as Jackal hops in through the window. She opens her mouth, but closes it pointing to her throat. She signs that she's unable to speak, hoping one of them knows sign language, since very few did. She blushes slightly and nods to Lokyar. 'That'd be great.' She signs to him.

Lokyar stared at Jackal. They were on the third floor!
"Thank you, Avine, for accepting my offer."
Lokyar offered his paw, heart singing. He had heard of love at first sight, but...

Jackal took in the scene, getting a wonderful warm feeling from watching the two students talk about their first date. "You guys are perfect for each other, I can tell," he said, leaning against the wall.

She nods, feeling herself starting to calm down slightly, taking his paw. She keeps her gaze affixed to the ceiling, her thoughts buzzing and all over the place. As Jackal spoke, her face turned red again and she shrugged, as if to say maybe.

Lokyar glared daggers at Jackal as he took Avine to the school coffee shop, chatting merrily.
"What would you like? My treat!

Jackal shrugged. "It's true!" he yelled after Lokyar, following him to the coffee shop. Reading could wait. He wanted to watch this moment unfold... besides, he still had the book he checked out last time.

She laughed a little, though it was a silent laugh, waving to Jackal as they left. She sways both of her tails happily, trying to make up her mind on what she wanted. She shrugs and stretches slightly.

Lokyar lets go of her paw.
"Tell me what you want, what you really really want."
Lokyar smiled at the reference from his youth and pulled out his wallet.

Jackal watched from behind his book, trying not to chuckle at the reference to Chicken Little.

She signs to him what she usually gets, which is just the regular order of coffee and smiles. She tilts her head as she does so, her raven black hair falling over her amber-colored eyes.

Lokyars heart beats faster and he blushes hard. The fur behind the counter asks for his order. He looks at her, startled out of his revierie.
"Erm... Two coffees please."
Lokyar then carries them to a table.

Yosemike ran hard an vaulted over the ledge next to his trainer Dan.
"Pace boy pace!" the fox called over, but Yosemike, being the hardheaded teen he was ignored him
"Keep up or die trying!" Yosemike called back and shifted his running along a wall before leaping down three stories and hitting a building under construction. He tip toed along a rising beam and lept to another building and stood on the edge overlooking new York city
"I'm... Too sexy for my cat..." he began to sing and did a victory dance as Dan came over.
"Are you crazy?!? Your gonna get yourself killed!" Dan snapped at the wreck less boy who simply scoffed.
"I'm invincible, and I don't know why I pay you." he remarked, hopping down to stand next to Dan
"Fine, I'm leaving, that way it's not my fault when you get yourself killed" Dan said fed up with the Otter and took the stairs off the rooftop
"old fool" Yosemike said to himself.
"I can do anything" he said and broke off into a sprint, vaulting over the building.
However, there wasn't another rooftop, as Yosemike misjudged his dorection, and was rapidly falling a 700ft drop
"Shit no!" Yosemike yelled as he fell to wards the busy street below
"Anything but this!" he screamed again, squeezing his eyes shut as everything whirled around him, and he hit the ground, but not as hard as he thought.
*how am I not dead* he said in Japanese, and looked up to find himself in some sort of coffee shop, before shoving his face into the ground again
*oh, I am dead* he said in his native tongue again

The yellow dragon was sound asleep on a soft cloud, slowly drifting towards the school.

Lokyar gasped as someone faceplanted from nowhere in front of him. He immediately made sure he was alright before looking at his new girlfriend worriedly.

Her eyes widen slightly and she runs over to help the otter that'd fallen out of nowhere. She turns him onto his back and snaps in either ear, seeing them twitch as she does. She opens one of his eyes, holding up her fingers after signing him a question.

Lokyar tries to help out by translating.
"How many fingers is she holding up?"

Yosemike quickly shuffles back
*AAAHH demon!* he shouted in Japanese startled by the demon-snake's appearance. He looks around and notices a few similar creaters
*confucious has put me in hell!* he exclaims still speaking Japanese and over all terrified

She sighs, which isn't anything but air, and signs that he isn't in Hell, or that he's not dead, but in an alternate dimension.

Yosemike had been taught sign language in his few years of schooling in Bejiing and slowly got up, his eyes wide as he looked around before bowing
*excuse me ma'am I had not known that I'm taken for a fool* he spoke, disbelieving her hands and began to walk off

Lokyar gapes at Avine.
"Avine, you've encountered this before?"

She nods to Lokyar, standing and grabs the otter by his shirt collar a light hiss escaping from her throat. With her free hand, she forms a fist and pushes it into his face. She starts signing seriously, her amber eyes glowing angrily.

Yosemike bit his lip and was more concerned with her eyes than her hand signs
-Jeez she reminds me of those damn gang guys I use to run for, with the pushing and shoving- He thinks
He looks around the room, with a look saying 'help' which he has had to use before, and one or two furs watching begin to stand up

Lokyar laid a hand on Yosemike and his yellow fur started glowing as he tried to heal any mental damage.
"Avine, careful, you are scaring him."

Her eyes narrow at the otter and she places him on his feet. 'He'll be fine on his own without help.' She signs. 'Unless he runs into something dangerous, then he really will go to Hell.' Was what she signed before going to sit at one of the booths and staring out the windows, the ends of her tails flicking annoyed.

-this damn wolf likes his English more- Yosemike thinks glancing at the spell casting, but there was no actually mental damage to heal
"please I didn't mean offense, I simply-" he quickly threw up his hand in a 'wax-off' move so that the snake would drop him, and he back rolled away, preparing to run, however he noticed the motion to the booth and nodes
"allow me to buy a drink first." he said walking to the counter

Blitz woke up when he feels a strange presence coming from below him. He pokes his head through the cloud look down upon a school. Blitz couldn't help to feel curious, so he shrunk his size to the size of a bug and entered the school by its vent.

Lokyar finds no mental damage. As Avine heads to a booth, he goes to pick up the coffees, but one had spilled in the action. He heads back over to Avine and gives her the coffee.
"I'm so sorry, Avine. This couldn't have gone worse..."

Yosemike grabs his Sakura tea and turns as he begins to walk over to Avine and Lokyar. Three steps in, common sense got the better of him and he decided to disappear, and swiftly exits with his drink muttering Japanese under his breath.
((sorry, I just like to play shifty out-of-the-way characters))

She smiles at him how she did before and signs that it's okay. 'Others like him all ways find out the hard way if they don't listen.' She signs flawlessly, taking the coffee. She stares at the table for a minute then looks out the window, wondering if her father had felt someone just falling through dimensions.

"Even so, Avine, I picked a bad place to come for..." Lokyar blushed. "... for a first date."

She smiled at him lightly, shaking her head. 'It happens all the time here.' She signed, sort of like an explanation. She put a paw on his and smiled again, her amber eyes softer and less angry.

Blitz crawled on the school's ceiling, but now he was a size of a cat. He was still in search.

Lokyar smiled woozily as he got a blood rush to the heart.
A black bulldog walked over.
"I saw you manhandling that otter, girly."
Despite knowing 97 of every 100 students here is a spellcaster, despite knowing no counterspells, despite knowing he is boosting this bulldogs power to archmage levels by mere proximity, Lokyar stepped between him and Avine.
"Please back away. Now."
((Lets both control him. I have no plan.))

Avine's eyes flicker to him. In a single deft movement, she's on her feet in the blink of an eye, electricity forming around her right arm, while shadows form around her left. A hiss erupts from deep within her chest and her slit-pupils narrow until it seems as if they had vanished. 'Back away, and you won't be harmed.' She signed to the bulldog.

Yosemike glances back, to find his aid a little late.
-Bejing wasn't this laggy- he thought and ponders his decision
-go back in, and call him off or leave it- he thinks and takes a sip of his tea
-then again, they weren't very fond of me...- he thinks and grinds his jaw together before remembering being picked on by guys bigger than him as a cub.
He sighs as he walks back into the shop and pulls the dog aside
"it's fine, it's fine- just a little misunderstanding, we worked it out as gentle creatures." he reassured him and pats him on the shoulder, although having to reach high due to his size.
He starts to walk away again, avoiding eye contact with Avian and Lokyar

Lokyar sits back down.
"...Wise choice. I boost spells and counterspells near me. It would have been as between three archmages. Today is just getting worse and worse."
He puts his head in his paws. He was sure first dates dont go like this.

The electricity and the shadows fade, and she sits down again, picking up the coffee. Making sure that she wasn't still electrified, she put a paw on Lokyar's arm and smiled. Taking a sip of the coffee, she offers him some, still smiling.

Lokyar was almost in tears.
"No thank you... "
He writhed in mental agony, saying under his breath: "It shouldn't be this way."

Yosemike exited the shop again, and looked around.
-wait, this looks like the college...- he thinks before running out the front doors and looks at the skyscrapers
-This is New York! I knew that girl was liein! But how did I end up here?- he thinks to himself as he looks around the busy street. He glances back at the coffe shop through the doors.
-Some American friends would be nice... Ah they didn't like me anyways- he said, walking down to an ally way before scaling up onto a rooftop and headed to his apparat ment building, still not realizing he's in another dimension

She tilts her head, raising his from the table. 'Don't worry. Everything's fine. Promise.' She signs, pushing the coffee over to him. 'It'll be better next time.' She signs, nodding slightly.

Lokyar seems to calm.
"Really? Thank you!"
He hugs Avine across the table, then panics he may have gone too far.

Blitz snuck out the window and flew behind Yosemike silently.

She chuckles silently, reaching over the table and hugging him back. She snags another quick drink of the coffee before sliding it back over to him. 'Yes really.' She signs, smiling a little brighter.

Lokyar is suddenly beaming
'Screw the otter and the bulldog, this is the best day of my life!' he thought, drinking a tad of the coffee before sliding it back to her.
"Do you live in the dorm here?

She nods. 'One of the better dorms, actually.' She signs. 'I could get father to let you have one also.' She signs, taking another drink of the coffee.

Jackal kept watching from over his book. This is amazig... I'm learning so much about love, he thought to himself

"No need, but please, let me escort you back!"
Lokyar is smiling so widely that the top of his head might fall off. It is clear his day has been made.

(Guys, let's just say that Jackal will follow you everywhere. I need SLEEP.)

She chuckles silently behind her paw, glad that she could cheer him back up again. She nods and finishes off the rest of the coffee after it'd cooled quite a bit, throwing away the empty cup. She stretches slightly in the booth and stands, offering her paw to Lokyar.
((Lol, okais. GO TO SLEEP THEN.))

Lokyar stood and took Avine's paw, letting her guide him to her room, chatting on the way. When they got there he looked stunned.

Smiling at him, she gave him a light, playful shove before going for the key in her messenger bag. For some reason though, the key wasn't in it's usual place and her eyes widen slightly. She starts digging through the many pockets and in between her books and such a little frantically. She facepaws at the thought of having to get her father to open her dorm room door for her, since he wold probably make a mess of the situation. She sighs silently and turns her gaze to the ceiling, trying to remember where she last had her key as she put her paws on her hips and shifting her weight to her left foot.

"Avine, this is your room?" Lokyar asked astonished
"...This is mine."
He moved to a door next to Avines that Avine had assumed was a broom closet. He withdrew a key from a pocket and opened it to reveal a broom closet with a mat and a pile of clothes used as a bed and a pillow respectively.
"Mine is right next door..."

Warren sat alone, invisible, on a bookshelf, you could only see him playing with his favourite deck of cards, shuffling them and using his influence to make them fly around him out of one hand and into the other.
Not many people were in the Library for this time of the day. Only a few wolves a cat and a jackal looking fur who seemed to be quite into his book.
Warren was however too comfortable where he was to cause any mischief, and instead settled on making the jackal's book poof into colourful confetti and lay down on the bookshelf giggling to himself.
He was rather high up and there was little chance of getting caught.

Her eyes widen slightly when he says, and shows her, that his room was nothing but a broom closet. 'That's unacceptable!' She signs, her expression changing quickly to concern. Fortunately, her father was patrolling the halls, making sure that everything was going well. Unfortunately, he'd spotted them in the halls, and he raised an eyebrow to Lokyar and his mute daughter. "What's going on here?" He asked, crossing his arms over his chest, his pale orange eyes mainly locked onto Lokyar.

Lokyar bowed deeply.
"Sir, me and Avine got to talking, thats all. We just found out our rooms were adjacent. Thank you for accepting me to your school." Lokyar babbled, knowing his place was tenuous as-is.

He raised an eyebrow at Lokyar, bringing a paw up to his chin in thought. "You are most welcome." He says, turning his attention to his frantically signing daughter. "Calm, daughter. Calm." He says, grabbing her arms. Avine takes a breath and stares at her father with an eyebrow raised. 'How can he have a room such as a broom closet?!' She virtually yelled through her paws. He looks to Lokyar, then the broom closet. "Had I known of this, I would have taken care of it immediately." He says to her. His pale orange eyes flick to Lokyar, then back to Avine. "And I will take care of this immediately." He nods slightly.

Lokyar flinches. 'Hes figured it out...'
"No, sir, this room is fine. You need the rooms for other students, and this one is perfectly placed." There was slightly too long a pause before he said: "For lessons."

"Nein." He says with his thick, German accent showing through. He'd certainly caught on to whatever was going on, but he said nothing about it. "There is an extra room, since most of the others have been taken." He explained. Avine looked to Lokyar with a smile, but back to her father with a scowl. She points to her door, then signs that she lost her key. "Well my dear, you shouldn't be losing things such as your key." He says, pulling a ring of keys from his belt.

Lokyar gave a worried look to Avine, before looking at her father, resigned to moving away.
"...Sir, where is this spare room? I can move in tonight if I must..."

Quickly unlocking Avine's door, he keeps hold of the key ring in his left paw. "Luckily for you, the spare room isn't far from here." He says, a slight note of uncertainty in his voice. "Grab your things and come with me." He says, turning to Avine. "And you, my dear, must not be forgetting your key." He grinned, pushing her into her room gently. She peeks around the door frame and waves to Lokyar. 'See you in class I guess.' She signs, before closing her door.

Lokyar winks at Avine as she shut the door before grabbing the mat and the pile of clothes and standing behind the headmaster, waiting for him to move off.

Warren jumped off of the book shelf with a somersault and landed with a roll, breaking his invisibility spell. It was perfectly executed, despite the insanity you would probably have to behold to perform such a stunt yourself.
"Methinks it's time for a change of scenery" he said taking out his cards, shuffling them, walking to his room down the corridor

Avine places her stuff down and flops onto her bed, not realizing she was tired and asleep within seconds. The headmaster glances at Lokyar, walking a couple doors down and across the hall to the spare room he'd mentioned. He takes the spare key and holds it out to Lokyar. "Before you take this key, you will not lay a finger on my daughter." He says, his pale orange eyes glowing dimly.

Warren heard the sound of a conversation around the corner and decided to eavesdrop.

Lokyar steps back.
"Sir, I cannot swear that. If she says no, then fair enough but her mind is her own. Not yours, with all due respect. If it makes you feel better, my Titan will remain hidden."

He narrows his eyes, his snake-like tongue flicking out from his mouth then disappearing within a second. A light hiss emanates from him and he gives the key to Lokyar. "If I find out, then let's just say there'll be one less student here at Arkane Academy." He hissed, holding the key out to Lokyar.

Warren quickly went invisible as the headmaster walked passed him, then looked around the corner to see someone enter the room opposite his.

Lokyar bows low, not taking the key.
"Sir, you have a beautiful daughter, and you are quite right to be proud and protective. I am not trying to take her from you, sir. But if she wills it, would it not be better for her to share herself not only with you and the rest of her family, but with yet another who will cherish and care for her? With one who will share her burdens? With respect, sir, should we not wait on Avine's opinion on the matter? If she does not want me, then I shall leave her be."
By this point, Lokyar is on his knees, head touching the floor in supplication.
"If we force her to choose, it could sour relationships for all concerned, even her chosen. So sir, I beg of you, let us be allies, not enemies. Let Avine make her own choice. She may well choose us both!"

Savel was leaning against the wall and smiled slightly when the headmaster walked passed him. He cleared his throat and pushed himself away from the wall and stared at the headmaster's back," That's not nice threatening students like that... I wonder what would happen if the teacher became the student... I wonder how that would work out... what do you think? headmaster..." He spoke confidently, and smiled when the headmaster turned around to face him," what's the matter? Wolf got your tongue?" He smiled.

Warren watched with amusement, even he knew not to challenge THE headmaster

He snorts lightly. "Get up." He says, his eyes still narrowed. "You may have a point. But we will see what her decision is." He says, his tone lightening slightly as he thought about the way he'd been sheltering his daughter for most of her life since the incident. He turns to Savel, his pale orange eyes glowing slightly with a bit of humor. "Threatening? Who said anything about threatening anyone?" He grinned. With a light shrug, he keeps the key held out to Lokyar. Outwardly, he looked like he would tell a joke with anyone. Inwardly though, he was a ticking time bomb, waiting to be set off.

Lokyar looked up and gripped the key lightly, giving the headmaster time to change his mind, as he feared he might.
"...Thank you, sir..."

Savel smirked,"Oh I see... your not threatening... your promising.... but riddle me this headmaster... what if the roles were switched? what if there would be one less headmaster at arkane? what then?" He smiled and crossed his arms over his chest.

Warren giggled to himself, knowing that this challenger would be in for it

He nods to Lokyar then turns his attention back to Savel, his pale orange eyes narrowed. "What are you trying to say, boy?" He hisses, flicking his tongue yet again. He puts away the key ring, still keeping his gaze on Savel, unsure of what he was meaning.

He smiled slightly and stepped sideways to let the man pass, them being the same height,"just don't make promises that you can't keep, that's all." He smiled a little wider and leaned against the wall, his arms still crossed over his chest, and he closed his eyes.

He raises an eyebrow at Savel, shaking his head with a light sigh. "If you'll excuse me, I have more important matters to attend to." He says, pinching the bridge of his nose. With that, he's gone, as if he'd never been standing anywhere near the area. Back in Avine's room, she remains sleeping with her arms under her head and her legs dangling off the other side.

Savel smiled," well... that was fun." he walked over to the others and smiled, holding out his paws," the name's savel."

Warren stood there as though he was there the whole time taking Savel's paw
"Thank you, thank you" he said shaking it
"And you, my new neighbour" he said, turning to Lokyar and moving in for a slow embrace
"Welcome" patting Lokyar's back before retreating swiftly to face them with his arms crossed behind his back with a slight bow,
"I'm Warren" he said casting glances upon the two of them as if expecting them to do something

Blitz stared at the otter for a moment, before disappearing into the clouds.

Lokyar looked stunned as he got given the key, opened the door and saw a grand room, at least compared to where he came from.
"A broom cupboard to this." he breathed, and started as the others came up to him.
"I'm sorry for disturbing you! Please, tell me. Did I really just confront the headmaster over Avine?"
Lokyar staggers then faints into his room, overloaded with the events of the day.

"Alas, it Is a magnificent keep" Warren said stepping in before turning on his heel to Savel with a smile
"Pray, help me bring him to his bed, I do believe the events of this day has but payed its toll upon him"

Savel smiled and picked him up , throwing him over his shoulder and carrying him to the bed, and practically tossing him onto it,"Hehe... well today is fun so far."

"Indeed," Warren said "though even I, above all people, know not to mess with the headmaster"
Warren prepared the bed, this room flatlet almost mirrored his own.

After a few minutes, Avine's eyes snap open and she nearly falls onto the floor. Forgetting that she's a mute, she starts trying to say something but soon remembers. Getting up from her bed, she steps out into the hall, closing her door silently behind her. She had no idea what'd just taken place, and looks to the broom closet where Lokyar had been staying. She nods, recollecting the events happening before she went to her dorm. Stretching as she walked down the hall, she makes her way a few doors down, noticing one of them open and hearing others talk. Without making a sound, she flattens herself against the wall to listen in.

Lokyar dreams. He dreams of a riot and a dying person in his arms.
He sits bolt upright as the others go to leave. "NO! AERYS!"
He sees the others and his new room. "...Oh my wolf... So sorry! And I'm in your room..."
He moves to leave, past the others.

Savel smiled," yeah... I'm, awesome like that... he was threatening this guy, and besides, i'm not afraid of the headmaster." he steps back and grabs lokyar and throws him onto the bed," this is your room man, not ours, I'll leave you." he walked out and stopped, turning to her and smiling slightly," why hello there."

Looking up at Savel, she realized she'd been caught and facepaws at her own idiocy. Her face reddens slightly, and she keeps her gaze on the floor. Her tails twitch slightly and she calms herself down, looking back up to Savel. 'Can you understand what I'm saying?' She asked with her paws.

"My room?"
He sees his mat and his clothes and it all hit him with the force of a house at high speed. 'Oh no...'
He walked out and almost walked into Avine.

He smiled," no I can't understand you." he smiled a little wider and leaned against the wall," so your the headmasters daughter? nice to meet you. My name is Savel."

A light smirk formed across her muzzle, and she nods to Savel. 'Then how did you respond?' She asked again, her smirk aimed at him still. She freezes slightly as Lokyar all most runs into her, but she relaxes and smiles at him. 'So how'd it go with my father?' She asked him, her amber eyes switching between the two.

He smiled," It was a joke... and it went well." he looked away and smiled," he really likes me." he chuckled slightly and closed his eyes," I saved lokyar from being threatened, and yeah..."

"Well, he gave me this room. That almost made up for the" He winced. "choice words he had. He didn't want me to be with you, but I managed to convince him to let you decide." He lowered his head. "I can't blame him with my past."

She nods to Savel. 'He doesn't like most of the people I tend to hang out with.' She signs, then turns to Lokyar. 'Would you want to talk about it?' She asked him, putting a paw on his shoulder.

"If you want to listen. Come in, but I dont know this place well. I preferred my cupboard. My roommates were a pain, but arguments always ended with me mopping the floor with them."
He moved back into his room, smiling at his joke.

Savel stood outside and grined, walking away, and down the hall. he hopped out of the window and landed on the ground, rolling to cushioning the fall and he smiled as he landed behind the headmaster," Oh hello there sir... what brings you out here?"

She nods and looks over to Savel. 'Just don't try to start anything, or my father will go through on his promises.' She signs to him with an apologetic look before he leaves. She turns back to Lokyar with a silent sigh and stepped into the room. 'That's the thing though, there are no room mates here.' She signs with a light grin.
He looks to Savel with an eyebrow raised. "I'm merely out here to 'take a break' as you would call it." He explained, looking back out at the schools gardens.

Lokyar grins back.
"I meant the brooms. Do you want to hear of my past or just to sit here and talk of less weighty things?"

She stops talking with her paws and sits in one of the comfortable chairs, smiling at him apologetically. 'Go ahead.' She signs, motioning for him to sit on the bed.

He stands up and crosses his arms," Can I ask you something? why were you being such a jerk to lokyar? i mean, damn.. over protective much?" He looked at him with a serious face, actually wanting to know that answers, and not trying to be a smart arse.

He looks over his shoulder at Savel, his pale orange eyes glowing slightly. "Do you really want to know?" He says, turning his gaze to the sky and putting his arms behind his back. "I'd be glad to tell you if you listen and not comment throughout." He says, his tone somewhat light.

He didn't respond and waited for him to speak, leaning against a tree and closing his eyes," Go for it..."

Lokyar sits on the mat, unused to having furniture.
"Lets begin at birth. I was born in this world, non magical, and I was given to Areanea Co to take part in their experiments in creating magical furs. I was there for 15 years. The experience was horrible." Lokyar was visibly trembling. "Six months ago we rebelled. Each of us excelled in one part of magic and no other, be it counterspells, illusions, healing, whatever. Each of us also amplified nearby spellcasters. The rebels were the only survivors. But not all of us." Lokyar began to cry. "Poor Aerys..."

Warren was standing in the corner the whole time, hidden in plain sight.
"Well," he said walking with a bow
"I'll leave you two love birds alone"
Leaving promptly he bumped into the headmaster, recovering into an over exaggerated bow
"My lord" he said before standing upright with his awkward stare at both accompanying parties.

He nods, keeping his gaze focused on the area before him. "We'll start at the incident.." He grumbles, rolling his shoulders slightly. "It was about when Avine was eight, a long drawn out war broke out in the streets we used to live in. At the time, everything was peaceful, since we lived on the hill. Until someone broke into our home and started ordering that everyone be evacuated immediately. That's exactly what we didn't do, since the Arkane line is stubborn. So they killed my wife, and slashed Avine's throat while I was pinned. Though, I managed to break free and save my daughter. Since then, I've kept her away from most of the real world, knowing something like that would happen if I didn't. It pains me that I don't get to hear my daughter's voice again. But I guess that's pay back on my sins that I have committed before she was born." He explained, his tone of voice slightly harsh. He looks at Warren, but he says nothing, for reason that he might accidentally harm the student.
Avine put a paw on Lokyar's shoulder and stared into his eyes. 'The past can't be changed, but she lives inside of you still.' She signs, smiling slightly. 'Move on for her sake, since that's what she'd want you to do.' She smiles.

"She's right," Jackal said from the corner. "You have to let go, sir."

Lokyar looks into the eyes of Avine and saw someone with a similar loss. Even without this, he could not stay sad for long in her presence. He smiled fragilly. ((sp? is that even a word?))
"Do you want to tell me your past?" he says as he explores.

Jackal walked over and sat on the floor in front of them. "I'm listening as well, miss," he said, his silver-grey tail thumping curiously against the floorboards.

Savel looked at the headmaster,"i apologize for my previous actions.. but still.. don't threaten other students... because one of these days the student might just threaten you... and you sir might have a problem on your hands..."

Warren noticed the jackal that was reading the book before he made it turn to confetti.
Hiding a smile, he sat on a bench on the corridor.

Jackal turned his head as a sudden stream pf profanity emminated from the hallway, coming fro mthe mouth of another student... a jackal, oddly enough.
"Man, he looks mad," the cat said, turning back to Lokyar and Avine. "So... where were we?"

Lokyar opens the fridge door and jumps back.
"Its cold..."

Jackal raised an eyebrow. "Um... it's a refrigerator. It's supposed to be cold inside when it's plugged in." He looked between him and Avine. "Wait, how did you even get over there? I'm sitting right in front of you."

Unconsciously, she reaches up to the scar at her throat, but turns her gaze to the floor. She clenches her fist and shakes her head, the memory still too painful for her to tell. Her ears flatten to her head and she winces, an echo of feeling the sword slicing into her throat making her shiver.
"Problem?" He raised an eyebrow at this. "What problem?" He asked, his eyes and tone of voice becoming serious.

He smiled and pushed himself away from the tree and stood straight, his arms crossed over his chest," Take a guess sir..."

Jackal looked at the scar in Avine's throat... and remembered something. "Oh my god... you got that during the evacuation, didn't you?"

"I was a prisoner for 15 years of my life, and lived in a broom closet for the rest. Excuse me for not knowing what a 'Refridgerator' does."
He noticed Avines discomfort and rushed over. "Shhh, don't worry, tell me when and if you are ready. I'm here for you." He hugged her close.

Jackal looked at his boots, a sad look dawning upon his countenance. "I remember that evacuation... it's fuzzy, but I remember..."

She nods slightly to Jackal and buries her face into Lokyar's shoulder. She shivers again, trying to shove the memory from her thoughts, but is unsuccessful at doing so.
A laugh erupts from him and he looks at Savel. "You? How would you be a problem?" He chuckled, turning around to face him fully.

Yosemike picked his way from rooftop to rooftop before making it to a hotel. He repelled down a wall, and entered through the front, nodding to the desk man. Up to the 12th story Yosemike found his room and tried the key. Seeing that it wasn't taking his card he slammed his fist on the card lock
*Stupid American crap!* he yelled in Japanese before heading down to the front desk
"Hey, my card ain't working" he said to the cat behind the counter, tossing the hotel key onto the desk.
"let me check the database... Name?" she asked him, beginning to type on a computer
"Yosemike Heroshima" the otter responded, with his arms crossed
"uh, no your not signed in here, or ever for that matter" she responded, looking up
"What? I've been her for-" he let his sly thoughts get the better of him
"So sorry, I ment to check in, I found that card on the floor". He went through the process with the cat, and used his ex-trainers card to pay for the room.
Once done, they woman behind the counter gave Yosemike a sideways look
"shouldn't you be in the college like the rest of the kids your age?" she asked. Yosemike was stunned at first, but his quick thinking got the better of him
"I-I graduate... In Bejiing" he said, pretending to not know English very well, and began to back up, making small bows.
"Foreign exchange- I study, study" he said before slipping into the stairwell and going back to his room.

Warren smiled as the Jackal ran past angrily, yet keeping inconspicuous until he had gone before realising that he is getting board of all this talk and started playing with his cards

A tear ran down the cat's cheek. "I remember that..." He looked up at Avine. "You weren't the only one who lost family members on that day... but at least you still have ONE of them." He sniffed sadly, blinking back tears. "Don't hate your father, okay? Never stop loving him, no matter what he says."

"Sshhhh... I'm here..." Lokyar strokes her head, instinctively trying to comfort her.
"Do you want me to try and heal the pain?"

She shakes her head to Lokyar's question, but keeps her face hidden as years form at the corners of her eyes. 'I don't hate my father. I've never said that..' She signs, pulling away. 'It doesn't hurt, it's just an echo.. But I'll be okay.' She smiled, tilting her head as she does.

Warren put the cards away, looking beyond mild displeasure
"You're lucky they're all dead" he said walking past Jackal before storming out
"I certainly wish mine were"
And with that he walked to his room across the corridor

Yosemike turned from the window as he heard banging on the hotel door. Someone was trying to get in and he backed away from the door, as the bolt was suddenly blown off. The cat from the desk stood there, her fangs abnormally large and she seemed to be hungry
"you don't belong here!" she hissed at Yosemike and began to walk into the room
*Shit!* Yosemike yelled in Japanese as he quickly pieced together a plan. Grabbing a lamp he busted out the winDow, quickly scurrying out and began to climb from window silk to windowsill. He looked back to see his assailant with her head out the window hissing
*da fuk is going on!?!?* he squealed in fear as he continued to climb to the rooftop

Savel smiled," Don't test me... I'm much stronger than you think.... I'm just saying... don't mess with me or those other people... or you and I will have a problem.. sir..." He put his arms to his sides and stared back at the headmaster with confidence and anger.

He grinned, putting a paw to his face and sighing. "Right then. Just make sure you keep them in line." He growls, his eyes switching from joking to serious. "And I mean that, or it will cost you your education." He growled slightly.
Avine tilts her head at Jackal and raises an eyebrow.

Yosemike rolls onto the rooftop and sprints as hard as he can, his pursuer now flying with freshly sprouted wings. He springboards himself with an AC unit and rolls onto another rooftop, narrowly dodging the creature. Terrified he looks back once and jumps again, but was unaware the next building was too tall. As he fell down the alleyway, his quick reflexes allowed him to grab onto a clothesline and due to his small size, he hung there by his left paw, panting hard and waiting for the creature to come back

"You know that guy from earlier?" Jackal said. "I think he's in trouble..." He walked over to the window and opened it. "I'm gonna go find him and make sure he's alright." With those words, he jumped out the window, landed, and ran towards town.

Lokyar grabbed Avine gentally and made her look him in the eye. "I'm here for you, Avine. I think we all are. Me, your father, anyone else you feel like you can trust. Tell us. We will listen. I admit I don't know of this 'evacuation', but that doesn't make me any less here for you."
He smiled at her and stroked her cheek.

She smiles a little sadly, leaning her head against his paw. 'I will tell you about it, but just not for a while. It's scarred me pretty badly..' She says with her paws. She blinks a couple times and brings her ears back forward.

The dragon looked down at the Otter and smiled. He swoop up Yosemike and placed him back on his feet.

Yosemike looked back to see the creature beginning to swoop in again.
*damn it damn it damn it damn it...* he began to babble, and swung himself to to a fire escape, and he sprinted down the steps, sliding low to avoid the thing again. Once he was about 10ft off the ground he lept to a dumpster, and jumped from there into the street. He began to frantically search for a shop to duck into, but every door seemed to be locked to him. The sun gets blocked out, and he looks up to find the demon up high into the air.
-daaaaaamn iiiiit- he thought and lept onto the busy street, reflexive dodging cars like a game of frogger, before extend his arm and swinging into a passingbye pickup truck, as the creature began to close in

Suddenly, Jackal leapt down out of nowhere and wrapped his arms around the creature's neck. "Leave him be!" he shouted, grabbing the neck with one arm and bashing his fist against the creature's head with the other.

"Tge **censor**???" he managed to say in English as fear still grips him, as the pick up reached a stoplight. He jumped across a couple cartops and onto the sidewalk and slides in front of the college doors
-'shouldn't you be in the college?...'- the words rang through his head as he looked into the doors.
-hide, hide, hide. Go hide- he thought to himself and slyly slid through the doors, and sat on the edge of a fountain near the front, pretending to study a book full of symbols he didn't understand

"Do you want to go for a walk, Avine?"

Jackal waited until the man was in the gates, then rammed his fist between the creatures eyes, kick-flipped off its back, and scampered inside, locking the gates. He ran up to the wolf. "What... the hell... was THAT?" he asked, out of breath.

Moby's book poofed into confetti and appeared in it's original possition on the shelf.
Warren was hiding on top of the bookshelf, angry and up for causing chaos, turning several books into confetti.

Yosemike looked at his empty paws before calmly walking to a corner where he curled Into a ball, eyes open wide

"Okay," he said. "I suppose I'm not getting an answer right..." He suddenly noticed that books kept poofing into confetti and reappearing on the shelves. "What in the... oh." Noticing Warren on top of the book shelf, he hopped up there and lay down next to him. "Snooping as usual, I see," the cat said.

"Meh" Warren said half-arsed and continued as he was

With a light nod, she stretches and a surprise yawn escapes from her muzzle. 'That sounds great to me.' She smiled.

"Well... okay," Jackal said. He jumped off the bookshelf, walked over to Yosemike, and picked him up. "Well, better get back to the other guys," he said, running out of the library and back to Avine's dorm.
"Hi," he said, coming into the room. "Our friend here was being chased by some weird beast."

Lokyar stands up and walks with her around campus.

They come through a door, Lokyar laughing at one of Avines jokes, before he spots the headmaster and shuts up, waiting to see what he will do.

Yosemike is clearly demorilized and is senselessly babbling in front of the headmaster, with paws behind his back

She grins, glad that she could at least make him laugh. She spots her father and sighs, knowing he'd blow things out of proportion.
"Tell me, otter. How did you end up here?" He asked, noticing Avine and Lokyar, but saying nothing and keeping his attention to Yosemike. He holds up a paw for him to stop his incessant babbling. "Speak clearly." He says, with a light smile.

Warren lay down and stared at the roof of the library.
Majestic carvings of angels and demons and a roof painted as though it belonged on show in an art gallery.
"With beauty beheld, a glint in mine eye, a story perhaps untold, the random question why." Warren said silently to himself
"With dust in every crevice, a splinter from the sane, believe be when I say this, things do not remain"
Warren then collapsed his head onto the shelf and decided sleeping would be fun for now.

"Gaah" he says pointing to the coffe shop, trying to form words in his confused and terrified state
"the fall, Newyork.... Hotel that thing!!!" says and breaths rapidly as he points random fmdirections, and dosnt know what to do

"Hey, the dude just got chased through town by a hellbeast," Jackal said, raising his hands. "Don't bother him, let him calm down."

Blitz sneezed and a lightning bolt strikes the school grounds.

"WHAT THE...!" Jackal jumped back in surprise. "Well... that was weird."

The headmaster looks to Yosemike, then back to Jackal. "Then he is not from this dimension if one recognized it so easily." He says to Jackal. He looks to Yosemike and smiles. "Do not be afraid, we will not harm you here." He says, offering a large paw to the otter.

Lokyar waited. What Avines father said here would change much. For better or for ill remained to be seen.

Yosemike gathered himself and firmly shook his paw
"why in the name of hell am I not dead?" Yosemike asked, looking up and the rather large man

Unfortunately, he didn't give a second glance back to Avine and Lokyar, still being tied up with the current situation at hand. He raised an eyebrow, having seen the lightning bolt hit the dirt, and looked in the air for the source, since he knew Avine wouldn't cast anything surprising. "You're in another dimension, otter." He explained. "Which is why you were attacked."
Smiling a little, Avine tugged Lokyar's arm as if to say that her father was busy. 'He'll have to pass judgement another time.' She signed, her amber eyes curiously floating to the scene before them.

Yosemike chuckled
"so I am invincible, that foolish trainer" Yosemike said, his cocky attitude returning

"Invincible? Hardly." He says, smashing that hope. "You simply fell through a portal, a hidden one at that." He explained. "You can still be killed here." He says, pointing to the outside of the school grounds.

Lokyar yawned. "Ok Avine. It's getting late anyway. I'm going to turn in. Are you?"

He laughs to himself again
"Ah but any danger is danger, and back in Japan, I well learned to run from danger" he said, fondly remembering his troubles as kid

She blinks a couple times and nods. Putting a paw over her mouth, a yaw forces her jaws apart and she pulls him along with her back up to the dorms. 'Yeah. I'm pretty tired myself.' She says with her paws, rubbing her eyes slightly.
The headmaster chuckles. "Oh, then try to go back out there and face the fastest basilisk. He'd most likely eat you if he caught you." He says with a light smirk. "What you have learned in the other dimension will only half-help you survive here." He says with a slight nod.

Yosemike mike just kinda huffs and looks back up
"well wadda I do?" he asks the man, getting tired of the conversation

Lokyar goes to his room, taking Avine to hers on the way, and goes to sleep on the mat, forgetting to lock the door and completely ignoring the bed.

Avine signs him good night, then flops onto the bed again, asleep in seconds.

Blitz became really sick and fell out of the night sky. The giant dragon crashed to the ground causing an earthquake.

He smiled,"keep yourself in line sir, and there will be no problem..." He stood sideways and clenched his fists slightly Unless you already have a problem..."

He turns to face Savel and laughs. "I've not got a problem, yet." He says calmly. "Now, it's about time for curfew. I suggest the students get to their dorms before the cleaning nymphs decide that they need a snack." He says, glancing back at Yosemike.

Jackal looked at Yosemike. "It's not just on your hands that you outran that thing. You probably didn't notice, but I was on its back, beating my fist against its skull. And then your other friend picked you up and helped carry you some distance. I'd say you're not as tough as you think in this world." He yawned. "Well, time for bed." Moving quickly, the cat scampered up a tree and fell asleep on a thick branch.

Blitz crawls weakly into the dorms by changing his size to a little mouse.

Yosemike kicks a rock and left to scale a wall. He made his way up to a support beam in the high cealing of the main hall. He sighed as he sat up there looking down at the empty hallway
-nowhere to go... Noone to turn to...- he thinks as he sat grumbling about how little his efforts counted

The headmaster sighs and shakes his head. "Let's get you back inside." He says to Savel, knowing the cleaning nymphs would probably be out a little earlier than usual tonight. He leads him inside, looking back to Jackal with a slight glance. Once inside, he parts ways with Savel and heads back to his office.

Yosemike digs around in the cargo pocket on his pants until he comes up with an old 2G iPod shuffle, and sticks out his tongue at it.
-Better than nothing...- he thinks and turns it on to only find the waiting clutches of Norah Jones
-chick can sing, I'll give her that, but these are bummer songs- he thinks crossly and shuffles the tracks, only to meet The Fray, röyksopp, and Moby.
-Bummer songs? Are you kidding me? When was the last time I synced this???- he scolds himself before settling on 'Raining again' by Moby
-it's gonna be a long sleepless night- he thinks to himself as he looks down to see the head master and Savel.

Blitz sneaks into Avine's room and slowly makes it to the top of her bed. He collapsed by her feet.

Lokyar wakes up at dawn, looks round and panics again for a second.
"This is gonna take some getting used to." he said.
Standing up, he trips over his makeshift pillow and lands full-length on his bed.
"Hey, this is COMFY! I think I've found a new mat!"
He wanders into the shower room, presses a mysterious lever and jumps as the toilet flushes.
"The books make sense now... So this must be the 'shower'..."
He twists a knob and this time is ready for the water. He gets in and uses some of the shampoo every room has for a new occupant to get his fur clean, not touching the feather cleaner or scale shiner. He comes out, dries himself on his old clothes, and gets dressed. The door opens as he finishes.

Savel walked into his room and turned to the headmaster," i will let it slide this time... but don't you ever touch me..." he sighed when the headmaster already disappeared. He left his door open and he put his headphones in his ears and he closed his eyes as Sonic syndicate, Affliction started to play. He started to move his head with the beat of the music and he smiled slightly, thinking to himself,"He totally has a problem.... Me..."

Warren woke up out of a nightmare. The same recurring dream that had been haunting him since he was cast out by his family and realised his magical abilities. It always started with him alone in a white plane, when a darkness envelops the space in front of him, forming a twisted creature which attacks and chases him and warren runs before slipping and the creature pouncing, but before the final blow is struck, warren wakes up, breathing heavily.
"Ahh damn it" he says grumpily, jumping off the high bookshelf and landing in a crouched position, not as gracefully as the day before, then standing up and expeling from himself the dust and filth that gathered over the night on top of the bookshelf with a quick spell, before heading to the cafe that was across the street of the collage, deceiving his way into a free breakfast.

Savel opened his eyes, not realizing that he fell asleep. He opened his door, put his paws into his pockets and he walked to the cafe, his stomach growling, and noticing that someone was already there. he smiled and tapped them on the shoulder," Look, a fellow delinquent..."

Warren's face lit up to see the fellow "troll" as it were
"Good morning" he said, finishing his mouthful.
"I trust you won't be needing to take out your wallet to feed yourself" he said with a smile "if you get my meaning"

He smiled,"Good morning to you as well." He smiled and walked over to where the food was kept, and he rummaged through it, coming back with scrambled eggs, bacon, and a glass of orange juice. He sat down across from Warren and smiled,"So... why are you up so early?"

"Oh just personal matters" he said trying not to look tired, keeping up his smile
"Good choice for breakfast" he said putting a mouthful of his full english breakfast in his mouth.
"They should kick up the security, but then I'm not complaining"
Suddenly a dragon swooped past, terrorising civilians
"Ignore that," he said "it happens bi-weekly" eaking another mouthful.

Savel smiled when he saw the dragon and finished his breakfast quickly, and went up for seconds. when he came back he smiled,"Oh? random dragon? pretty cool... I want it as a pet." he smiled and took a mouthful of his food.

"Yep," he said smiling "and here comes the Griffin that usually chases it" warren looked steadily out the window at the sight before turning back
"So what are you studying?"

Avine awoke with a jolt, the memories of the Evacuation coming back to her. Breathing slightly heavily, she gets up and goes to the bathroom. After a few minutes, she showers, never taking too long, stepping out and drying off. She finds a set of clothes and puts them on, though they aren't exactly what someone would think she'd wear from her usual bright colors instead of a monochromatic scheme. She sighs silently, looking at her reflection in the mirror. She touches the scar, but her paw drops back down to her side. Shaking her head, she pulls open her door, nearly ripping it off its hinges, stepping out into the hallway, her eyes slightly wide. She had a feeling that something was going to happen today. Something terrible. Something exactly like the Evacuation. She bolts down the hallway, a black mark on the floor where she'd once stood from so much static electricity build up.

He smiled and took another mouthful of food and looked down, not really answering his question. he had other things on his mind.

As Avine ran through the halls, she nearly runs into the closed glass doors, not exactly paying attention. Skidding to a halt, she looks around, hoping to find someone close by that she knew.

"Well" warren said, putting down his knife and fork as he finished.
"For example, I'm studying illusion and enchantment"

Yosemike easily woke up from the beam he fell asleep on, with one leg dangling off. He sighs as he continues to stare at the cieling with paws behind his head, the hight not bothering him at all

As Avine made her way to the cafeteria, slightly dazed and fear evident in her features, the headmaster patrols the halls, making sure that there is no one causing trouble for the time being. He doesn't yet have a problem with any of the students, except for Savel, finding the boy rather obnoxious. A light sigh escaped from him and he shoves the thought aside, stopping by one of the classrooms to talk to the teacher.

Jackal was just coming back from checking out a new book when he noticed Avine hurrying towards the cafeteria. As she passed him, he turned and walked alongside her, keeping stride. "Hi there," he said. "Something wrong?"

She pauses mid-stride, a small spark flowing from the ends of her tails as she continues. 'It feels like it did back when the Evacuation first started..' She signs quickly, her ears folding back slightly.

Jackal's own ears pricked straight up in shock, his tail bottlebrushing. "Seriously?" he asked. Secretly, he was starting to feel it too... that odd calm before the storm...

She nods, the tip of her tails twitching nervously. The small-ish wings on her back flutter slightly, stirring a bit of electricity. 'We need to find the others and my father before it starts. I have a feeling that the wards around the school are starting to weaken.' She signs, her amber eyes flicking around in search for the others.

Jackal nodded. "I'm with you." He thought for a second. "Should we split up to look for them?"

Blitz woke up when the door slammed behind Avine. He scan her room a little, before he felt an itchy feeling in his snout. The yellow dragon sneezed a small bolt of lightning on top of Avine's bed setting it ablaze. Blitz watch the fire spread slowly until he fell back to sleep.

The fire quickly burns itself out before it can spread due to a spell placed around the school and her dorm room. As she walks, she shakes her head. 'Splitting up would only be more dangerous. Staying in a group would be more effective than splitting into two separate groups.' She explains, somewhat calm, but clearly on edge.

Yosemike's eyes widen as he hears whispering below him. He calmly rolls off the beam and lands easily on a classroom signs sticking out of the wall. Perched their he raises an eyebrow with a sly smile, looking down at them
"Plotting are we?" he asks, slightly cocking his head

Avine jumps slightly and stop walking. She looks up to Yosemike and electricity sparks between her wings. 'Plotting? Hardly. Come with us, something bad is going to happen today. I can feel it.' She signs to him, continuing to the cafeteria.

The smaller otter shrugs and swings himself down. He follows parallel with them, not saying much though

Lokyar shakes his head as the teacher leaves, giving him a warning about how he was 'slipping' in healing. He could ress the dead and he was slipping in healing? He walked out to search for Avine, assuming he missed breakfast.

She starts shaking slightly as she looked out the window. A rather large dragon waited, staring back, at the borderline of the school. Upon its back she could see the outline of a figure, one with no skin or muscle, but just bones in armor. Her eyes widen and she bolts forward, another blackened spot on the ground where she'd just been standing as she throws open the cafeteria doors. She looks around, quickly spotting Savel and Warren, walking in their direction.

Lokyar follows Avines scent and finds Warren too. He walks up and whispers to him. "I need a word."

Yosemike's eyes widen as he sees what happens and made a 180 on his toes and started to walk away
"hand gun where to find a handgun..."

'Guys, we have to get out of here. It's not safe anymore!' She signs frantically. She starts shaking further as she could hear the impatient roaring of the dragon and the skeleton beating against its armor. 'NOW.' She virtually yells. She shivers, her amber eyes flicking to the other students, knowing she couldn't save all of them and she says a silent apology in her head.

Lokyar was too focussed on telling Warren his plan to surprise Avine with an illusory musical chorus of Lokyars to notice her signing.

Her bat-like wings flutter again, electricity sparking and hitting the floor. She tugs at Lokyar's sleeve, pointing out the window to the dragon and skeletal rider. 'We have to get out of here!' She signs, willing to bite them if she had to.

Lokyar turned round. "Avine, whats up?" He looks round, howls like a little pup and collapsed in fear, gibbering.

She notices another start to land by the first and her eyes widen. Looking at Lokyar, she waves a paw in front of his face. 'I know your scared, but imagine how I must feel. I've been through this once, I'm not about to lose anyone I know again.' She signs, the look in her amber eyes determined. She looks to Jackal. 'Stay here with them, I need to go find my father.' She signs to him, starting to walk from the cafeteria.

Lokyar begins to cry and attacks himself in utter terror. "Please, no!" He didnt seem to be responding to outside stimuli.

Avine turns back around, and rushes to Lokyar's side. She kneels beside him and shakes him lightly, trying to snap him back to reality. If she could speak, she wouldn't have to use her paws to talk, but that's something she couldn't get back. 'Hey, hey. It'll be okay.' She signs. 'Promise.' She smiles slightly.

Lokyar seemed unseeing and unhearing, and gouged a massive chunk of flesh out of his own arm. It began bleeding freely and copiously.

Her jaw dropped slightly, and she shook him a little harder. She hated to do it, but she pulls back her paw anyways. She brings it across his face with a loud SMACK resonating through the cafeteria. 'Snap out of it!' She signs, grabbing one of the healers.

Lokyar didnt even respond to the slap, and ripped off his right nipple, the shirt covering it, and a lot of flesh below it. In the center, a little white shone through.

Using the shadows surrounding them, she binds Lokyar's paws together, making sure that he couldn't even cut into the flesh. She also binds his legs, and mouth shut so that he wouldn't be able to cause further damage. 'Guys, you're going to have to come with me if you don't want to die by the hand of them.' She signs, pointing out the window to see a third skeleton and dragon. She makes sure that Lokyar can't break free of his shadow bindings that have solidified. 'Someone heal him, please.' She signs, the sight of blood making her slightly queasy.

Lokyar fights the bindings, clearly wanting to injure himself further, a look of pure terror in his eyes and his golden fur stained red with blood.

Worry flashes in her eyes, but she had more important things to do. One being finding her father. She wasn't about to lose him to something that'd made her lose her voice. She'd rather lose her sight this time than to lose him or anyone she knew. Shaking her head, she looks to Jackal, then Savel, Warren, and back to Lokyar. 'I hate to leave you here, but I'll be back shortly.' She signs, hesitating slightly.

Yosemike sat on a bench as Avine tore out of the cafeteria holding a .45 colt he found in a teachers desk.
-Just one trigger pull...- he thinks looking at the gun, debating what is real and what is not

There is a wet bang as a healer rushes over and Lokyar goes limp. The healer kneels and examines him and looks up, a sad look in his eyes. "I'm sorry. His heart literally exploded." While the healer is looking away, great rents opened in Lokyars flesh spontaeneously and his fur glowed through the blood. The healer looked down and cast another spell. "Impossible! His vital signs are back." Lokyar opened his eyes, terror gone and replaced by fury as he was healed.

Yosemike flinchs as hears the bang, and looks back down at the gun.
"mmurmph" he says as he continues to fight an internal conflict

The loud roaring of the dragons wakes up Blitz from his nap. Angered because he is unable to sleep from the terrible noise. The yellow dragon flew out of Avine's window and grew to full size. Immediately going in to combat with the closes dragon.

Avine's own heart jumps slightly as she notices the change. She waves a paw in front of his face, hoping that he was snapped out of his illusion. She looks back out the window, seeing more coming from the distance. Her ears fold back and a hiss emanates from deep within her chest. 'I'm not going to be able to get to him in time.' She signs to Jackal. 'You're going to have to find my father and the otter. Bring them back here and my father will know what to do.' She signs, trying to calm her beating heart, but unable to. Fear was evident because electricity kept sparking from her fingertips and intermixed with shadows that seemed to roll off her like waves.
((They haven't crossed the school grounds yet.))

Lokyar fought his bindings even harder than before his death. When Avine waves her paw in front of him, he locked his gaze on her, furious at being bound and blatantly not in the illusion.

She gives him an apologetic look, but doesn't yet undo the bindings. 'Are you all right?' She signs, glancing between him and the window. She slowly starts to undo the bindings around his muzzle, being careful not to touch him because of the electricity at her fingers.

Lokyar shouts at the top of his voice. "Am I alright? AM I ALRIGHT?!? Whoever bound me is going to find their life a living HELL when I get out!"

She cringes slightly, keeping her gaze turned to the floor. She folds back her ears and keeps her gaze on the floor. '..I was trying to keep you from harming yourself any further..' She signs, the electricity sparking between her fingers. She fully undoes the bindings, but stands and turns away from him. 'If that's how it's going to be.. Then I guess I'll just go..' She signs, a single tear sliding down her face as she walks from the cafeteria.

Lokyar grabs Avine. "Woah. Wait. That changes everything. I was self harming? And you were trying to help me? Tell me what happened. If this is true, I'm not mad!" He smiles for emphasis.

A silent sigh escapes from her, whether it was shaky or not, no one could tell. '..You were in some sort of illusion..' She signs, her gaze flicking to the window. More had arrived in the time that Lokyar had been healed and the fear returned. She hesitate for a second, trying to keep her paws at her sides. 'You were ripping out chucks of flesh and..' She stops, becoming slightly dizzy, remembering the sight of the blood flowing freely. She shakes her head, unable to continue what she was saying. She puts her hands back at her sides, her fear showing in her eyes clearly.

Yosemike stared at his gun some more before slowly lifting it to his head
-it's not real, just a comma dream from that fall.... Yeah... One trigger pull and I'll wake up...- he thought, sweat rolling down his face

Jackal ran up to Yosemike and snatched the gun from his hand. "Killing yourself isn't going to help!" he shouted, lifting the otter and running towards the headmaster.

A tear appeared in Lokyars eye.
"Thank you, Avine. Thank you for helping me." He offered her a hug.

Yosemike spazzes out and breaks free before scampering off in a full sprint.
-Arg The coma is trying to keep me in, Ive heard of this before, I knew it!- he thinks as he vaults over a couple benches and frantically searches for a way to 'free' himself

Jackal face-palmed himself. "For the love of..." He took off after the otter, covering ground quickly.

She smiles at him, though sadly. 'I'd hug you, but..' She signs, holding up her paws, the electricity sparking freely across her fingertips. 'You might be shocked..' She signs, with her held up paws. 'Maybe once I'm not so full of static..' She smiles a little, bringing her ears back around to alert. She glances at the window, feeling the barrier getting slightly weaker. Her eyes widen as she notices the largest of the dragons, on it's back being the commander of the skeletal army just waiting for the barriers to fail, and start another Evacuation.

Just then, Kitanes father came running round the corner.

Avine's fear grows as she stares out the window. The headmaster, having the same element as his daughter, picks her up quickly. "Grab Savel and the others. Meet me at my office." He says to Lokyar, his voice completely serious. "You're about to see what happened to my daughter ten years ago." He says, looking up at Savel. He motions for him and Warren to follow after, knowing Avine would probably broken if she found out anyone she cared for died again.

Yosemike's parkouring days easily put distance between him and jackal as he ducks into a restraunt. Dodging and weaving he tears into the kitchen before siezing a chefs knife and held it close to his throat.
"imma do it, if u don't keep back!" he yells at Jackal

Jackal sighed and raised his hands. "Alright, you..." Suddenly, he flicked his wrist, causing a ball of blue fire to appear out of nowhere and speed towards Yosemike, knocking the blade from his hand. While he was distracted, Jackal ran forward and grabbed him tight, then scooped up the knife and ran all the way back to the school, through all the freaking skeletons, and right through the luckily open window of the room adjacent to the headmaster's... and then out the door and through the headmaster's door.

Yosemike swore in japanesecand kicked as he was dragged back in.

"OW!" Jackal winced as one of the otter's feet connected with the side of his head. "Quiet, I'm trying to help you! If you'd stop struggling I wouldn't have to hold on to you so tight!"

*your trying to keep me in this hell hole!* he yelled out in Japanese
*Oblivious to reality!* he yelled again, before delivering a solid kick to the crotch and broke free, running out of the school grounds to find the number of skeletons outside
*sheeeeet!* he yelled out in Japanese again, turning he scurried back into the campus and dove into the fountain, where he remained underwater

"Wow," Jackal said. "I am SO glad I decided to wear a cup." Walking over to the fountain, he fished Yosemike out, then picked up the headmaster's scent and ran all the way to his location. "Could I have a bit of help here?" he asked. "I can't hold this guy all by myself."

Yosemike kicks a couple times as a distraction before grabbing the gun from before off Jackal, and brings it the underside of his head.
*freedom!* he yells in Japanese as he squeezes his eyes shut and pulls the trigger
After no bang Yosemike looks down the handle to find there was never a clip to begin with.
"damn it..." he says in English

Jackal smiles and holds up the clip, then slips it in his satchel. "Nice try. Now would you just listen to me for a second? We have to stay with THEM." He motioned towards the others. "Unless, of course, you want the skeletons outside to rip your flesh off in huge chunks and eat it in a disgusting manner."

Yosemike dropped the gun
"I'm sorry, I-" he quickly knocked off Jackals arms and spun around, bring his elbow to jackals face. He ripped away the satchel and dug through it before finding the clip and looking up, seeing the gun was equidistant from the two

Jackal saw the gun too, and rushed forward, grabbed it, took the headmaster's keys, and locked it in the man's desk before giving it back to him. Then, moving quickly, the cat unleashed a series of blows on Yosemike that drove him back to the wall, which he duct-taped him to. "I'm not even going to ask how you managed to pull something out of a bag that only I can pull stuff out of," he said. "Just... stop trying to kill yourself."

Yosemike looked back, and an immature five year old idea struck him: pushed up against the wall, he just stopped breathing. And he held a pouting countenance as he did so

Warren walked over to Yosemike with his hands in his pocket, making big slow steps, while slouching that he could inspect the "dead" body.
"Ahh" warren said, his voice filled with malice as he stroked Yosemike's fur
"I finally have a volunteer to become undying through a series of experiments I have devised"
Warren had a massive mischievous grin, postered across his face.

Lokyar smiled and joined Warren.
"If you need someone to keep him alive through these doubtlessly agonizing experiments, I'm free!"

"It sounds like a plan" warren said menacingly

Avine stares out the window, shaking in fear, but the electricity fading from her system for now. She looks to her father and nods. The headmaster moves the carpet up from the floor, revealing a hidden door. Pulling up on the handle, revealing a hidden bunker. "Everyone, in here now. We only have moments before the skeleton army you see breaks the rest of the way in through the weakened wards." He says, looking at them all in turn.

Warren took a break from Yosemike and turned to the headmaster
"And what about the rest of your staff and students?"
-
"They have similar places like this in the class rooms. The students know where to go if this ever happened again, and it's about to. If anyone's still left out there, then there isn't anything I can do to stop this. You've seen what happened to Avine. It's not happening to anyone else again." He explains, his tone of voice light, but serious.

Warren clenched his throat and looked at Avine with a sense of nervousness
"That's good" he said releasing his grasp from his own throat "what are we waiting for?"

Savel leaned against the door and crossed his arms and closed his eyes," This is so annoying.... This happens every time I go somewhere... It's starting to piss me off..." He looked at the headmaster and smiled slightly,"Isn't it annoying? sir?"

Warren got impatient and slipped into the bunker
"Well?" He said "cake or death?"
He jogged down the stairs and a loud thud and a cry of pain could be heard as he turned the corner.

"What? That fact of the Evacuation? There's only ever been one every ten years. The last time, we weren't so lucky in hiding. But oddly enough, yes. It is." He agrees, nodding a couple times. "Get into the bunker, now." He says, noticing the first of them beating on the wards.

Warren helped himself off the floor and cast a spell, creating a small amount of light so he could find the light switch
"Ow my shin" he said, finding he bashed it on a coffee table, realising just how luxurious the bunker was, complete with cctv monitors and a little mini bar

Savel smiled,"It is really starting to piss me off...." He didn't move, but he pushed himself away from the wall and stood sideways, looking at the headmaster,"It's like someone called them here... because it hasn't been ten years since the last one..."

"On the contrary. The last one happened when Avine was eight. She's eighteen now. Ten years have most certainly passed." He says, getting Yosemike and Lokyar into the bunker. Avine soon joins them, her ears pinned back and her wings fluttering like mad.

He smiled," How many have you been in sir... is this your second one?" He clenched his fists and bent his knees slightly, not moving.

Warren sticks his head around the corner and shouts at Savel
"What is it you wait for my friend?"

"I've been in near ten of them myself. Each one worse than the last." He says with a light growl. "Now, into the bunker with you." He smiles slightly.

Savel smiled and closed his eyes,"sir... I've got you beat..." He stayed where he was and glared at the headmaster.

Warren stood behind the headmaster with an eyebrow raised
-
"Kid, you're crazy." he says, looking from Savel to the window. He notices that the skeleton army has broken through the wards. He puts Warren back into the bunker and closes it. "Just stay there!" He yells for them to hear. "If you won't go, then you will fight with me." He says, grabbing the chainsaw/sword hanging just over the door.

Savel smiled slightly,"no sir... I'm not crazy... there is nothing wrong with me." As he was talking, he had a crazed look,and he cocked his head slowly,"Come on sir.... lets play my favorite game... who is the better killer... it's my favorite game." He turned around and waited for the army to twords him.

He grins slightly, turning on the chainsaw part of the blade. "Of course." He says, opening his office's door. Pulling Savel into the hall, he slams the door shut as the skeleton army starts to make their way through the school.

Warren was somewhat shocked yet had determination to try the spell he had been trying to perfect for the past two years. With that he closed his eyes and phased through the door.
"Hmm" he said awkwardly staring at the headmaster and Savel.
"Probably among the most stupid things I have done"
With that he phased back through the door

Savel smiled and shook his arm away from the headmasters grip, and he stood sideways, raising his paws and bent his knees, smiling," you ready sir?"

Warren ran to the cctv monitors and watched intensely

He grins at Savel. "I've been ready, kid." He says with a slight chuckle. The first of the skeletons appear down the corridor and he charges forth.

Savel smiles and turns around as a few skeletons appear behind them," Good..." He charged at them and easily dispatched them. He landed in a crouch and a smile on his face as the last one hit the ground. he looked up to see the headmaster holding his own rather well, and he smiled,"you know old man, your pretty good." Savel charged at another group, taking one of their weapons, and impaling them with it, smiling the whole time.

Warren notices a panel with a a number of switches and different hazard signs linking to a map of the school. Some symbols were obvious such as "corrosive" and "fire hazard" but some seemed more confusing.
Seeing on the cctv camera where a large concentration of skeletons were. Warren promptly pressed a button relative to the section of the map, which stated "explosive" and skeletons were shown on the cctv as several mines detonated, leaving the building surprisingly unharmed, yet the skeletons completely obliterated.
"And so a new piece is introduced to the chess board of this battle" warren said with malice

He grins as he slices through five of them with the chainsaw whirring. "Hm. You should know not to underestimate someone that's older than you." He grins, charging forward again.

Warren found a button that lead to an announcement system
"I hope you don't mind my lord, but I have found your... Toy collection, so to speak" warren said over the intercom

Savel smiled and destroyed a skeleton that was trying to attack the headmasters back,"and neither should you sir.." he attacked the skeleton with a fury and grace that was rarely seen, and couldn't possibly be human.

Warren pressed the corrosive button and bellow some skeletons, a pit of acid opened up, melting them
-
As he fought, more skeletons were pouring into the corridor, and he found himself suddenly overwhelmed by them. Growling slightly, he starts cutting his way through them, but to no avail. Soon, he was backed against the wall. The chainsaw/sword is knocked from his hands, and another, sharper blade is thrust into his chest, piercing his heart. His eyes flicker as he's dropped onto the ground, blood spilling out of his mouth. Back in the bunker, Avine watched in horror as her father was killed. Back in the halls, blood pools around the headmaster, but he turns his dying gaze to Savel. "..Too many.. Run.." He barely manages to say in a hoarse whisper. Finally, he breathes his last breath and dies.

Savel stared as the headmaster died, He looked down and picked up the headmasters sword and ran, jumping out of the window, and rolling when he hit the ground, sprinting twords whatever looked safe.

Warren stared in horror
"Go open the door for Savel" he said to Avine trying to keep calm, pressing buttons just about everywhere on the map except where it was too dangerously close to Savel.
More skeletons however seemed to replace those that died. Or were they regenerating?
"Savel," warren said over the intercom "Avine is going to open the door for you, there are too many, retreat"

Avine doesn't respond, since she's against the wall with tears streaming down her face. Her last parent had just died before her again. She stares at the ground, feeling like her heart was literally being torn in two. She puts her head against her knees, sobbing silently.

Savel growled,"I can't do that right now!" He took out the few that were blocking his way, and he looked twords the stairs and bolted up them,"you better have that damn door open for me!" He ran into a hallway and stopped as he saw that it was blocked off,"Crap..."he ran the opposite direction of the door and continued to run up the stairs, trying to get around the block, but he had to continue going up the stairs as he was stopped by wall and wall of skeletons,"what the hell..."

"Avine?" Warren said turning around, seeing Avine in a state
"Okay" he said, getting up to run to the bunker door
"Why didn't I study conjouration" he thought opening the bunker door
"Savel!" He shouted at the top of his lungs

Savel heard his name, but he couldn't get down there, he groaned inwardly and ran to the roof of the building, ran to the edge and stopped,"crap... " he turned around to see an army of skeletons blocking his path,"great..."

Warren stood by the bunker door, waiting and praying to god that the armies wouldn't come now.
"Saval!" He shouted again before realising that something must be wrong.
-
Savel backed up as far as he could, and he looked down at the ground, if he fell, he wouldn't survive the fall. He looked back at the wall of skeletons and smiled," Well this is gonna be fun..."

Warren heard a fuss outside on the roof and stuck his head out of the office window to see what was going on and looked up to see someone's feet on the ledge of the roof, two floors above him.
"Savel?"

Savel heard his name and he jumped, catching the ledge, and swinging into the office, and slamming into warren,"oof." He got up and grabbed the sword and picked warren up,"come on, lets go."
-
"Oof!" warren exclaimed before hobbling into the bunker and closing the door behind them, just as the skeletons started pouring in through the office front door.
"How long will this last?" He asked quite generally

Lokyar seems to awaken from a terror filled stupor and sees the headmaster dead.
"Warren, do you have any spells you can use or combo to retrieve the headmasters body? NOW if you can!"

Avine remains against the wall, not responding to anything or anyone at the time being. Tears continued to stream down her face as rage built up in her chest. She keeps her face hidden and her ears folded back. Electricity sparks off of her as the anger builds. She was pissed. Because of her own inability to protect her father and the inability to do anything about the Evacuation now. As the electricity sparks, a random bolt hits the far wall narrowly missing Warren by inches.

"No time!" Lokyar growled, running outside. The doors closed behind him, but a single skeleton gets in. Fighting through the others, powerless to harm them, but more than capable of healing through, he grabs the headmaster and runs back. He begins to stagger as he heals the wounds, waiting for them to let him back in.

The headmaster remains unresponsive, his wounds too deep to heal fully. He remains lifeless, his pale orange eyes dull and lifeless. Avine however, stands and exits the bunker, still remaining unresponsive to anyone. She pulls open the headmasters office door, nearly tearing it off. Her eyes glow amber/silver as she steps into the hall, the electricity continuing to spark off of her in short, random bursts.

Lokyar reenters the bunker. He begins his resurrection spell, having healed the wounds. He lays the headmaster on the floor and places five black beeswax candles forming a pentagram around him.
Stepping into the center with him, Lokyar channels energy, causing several effects.
1 The candles glow green.
2 Lines of white fire complete the pentagram.
3 Lokyar begins to suffer grievious wounds, great gashes in his body that didnt seem to bleed.
"Dorotai, melento, tsufulaki, sevento!" he chants.
He collapses as his wounds reach the point where if he continued he would not be whole. The gashes nearly sever him, but still do not bleed.

The headmaster, however, doesn't awaken, instead remaining lifeless and blood still pouring from his wounds. His soul had all ready been taken by the Reaper of the Evacuation, never to be returned. Out in the hall, electricity could be heard sparking and the screams of the skeletons echo throughout the halls. After minutes, everything goes quiet. Avine steps back into the bunker and collapses to her knees as she sees her father's lifeless body. Tears continue to fall, and she buries her face into her paws. This was exactly what'd happened with her mother, only, she'd been resurrected only to be killed again. She cries silently, a broken, unresponsive shell.

Lokyar begins to cry as he sees Avines distress and just manages to reach her, his fur glowing for an instant before he passes out. The spell he cast was an attempt at healing a measure of the scarring before her mind shattered.

She puts a paw on Lokyar, tears still falling from her face. A light burst of energy flashes, all of his wounds healed. She staggers to her feet and lurch-walks to her father's lifeless body. Her eyes are covered in shadow and she pounds the floor with clenched fists. After a few moments, she passes out, though her eyes remain open as she falls onto the floor.

Blitz became overwhelmed from the swam of dragons which surrounded him. The yellow dragon bearly dodges the grasp of hundreds of claws trying to cling to his body. He desperately unleashed an electric discharge giving Blitz a bit of space for a short amount of time before he was surrounded again. The dragon roar in anger.

Jackal ran in and caught Avine as she fell, bleeding from some scratches on his face and a gash in his left arm. "I've got you," he said, carrying her out of the room. Picking up one of Lokyar's legs, he dragged them to Lokyar's broom closet and brought them inside, closing the door. This should give them some time to rest, he thought to himself, sitting down and pulling his knees to his chest.

She was restless though, visions flashing behind her eyes as she remains out of it for now. She twitches several times, reactions to the visions of past and recent memories, some of them blocked out and forgotten.

Savel watches as the entire scene unfolds, he sighs and closes his eyes, crossing his arms. He was still holding the headmasters sword, and he looked at avine and sighed,"everyone needs to get a grip, or else we all won't survive this."

Warren turned on the swivel chair of the monitor station.
"Any idea why this is happening?" He said confused

Savel looked at warren,"I have no idea... but all i can tell you, it that those things... they don't tire out, and they are strong..."

Warren leaned on his knees as he sat
"Do you think the headmaster knew?"

Savel leaned against the wall and closed his eyes,"No... he wasn't..." there was an uncharacteristic sadness in his voice.

Jackal silently curled up on Avine's feet, trying to comfort her somehow. "Why are you twitching?" he whispered to her, wondering if she could even hear him.

After a few more moments, she awakens, her eyes ringed red. She remains laying on the floor, staring blankly up at the ceiling, her breathing silent and level. No electricity sparks or even remotely forms around her as she lay silent and still as a statue. She didn't feel like moving, nor did she want to speak through her paws.

Jackal stayed curled up on Kitane's feet, helping to keep her warm. "Just blink twice if you want me to move," he told Kitane.

Lokyar woke up, and immediately moved to hug his beloved, crying for her and with her, for the loss of a headmaster, a potential friend, and a potential father-in-law if their relationship got that far. And most of all, for the grief that Avine must be feeling, for the loss that he only feels a fraction of. He made sure to avoid restricting her arms - her main form of communication.

Jackal lowers his head as well, feeling for them both... he might have been a street urchin, but he still had emotions.

It takes he several moments to figure out what all was going on. It hits her hard, and she starts crying again, buryin her face in Lokyar's shoulder, hugging him back. She takes a few silent and shaky breaths, wiping her eyes and patting Jackal gently, a sad smile on her features.

Jackal looks up at Avine. "I'm very sorry," he said. "I miss him too."

Tears start falling again, but she wipes them away since she's trying to not cry. Taking another breath, she smiles sadly and shrugs. It wasn't neccessarily that she missed him yet, she was trying to save her grieving for the funeral that was sure to be held within the next few days. 'It's okay. I just wish I could've prevented it from happening..' She signs, sighin silently.

"...I tried Avine... I nearly killed myself trying to bring him back..." Lokyar said through his still falling tears. He remembered his spell ripping him to pieces, the words saying in an evil voice *NO*, the headmasters screams as he was given the glimmer of hope of escaping the Taker of Souls.

She puts a paw on his face reassuringly, knowing that he'd done the best he could. 'You tried your best, and I thank you for trying..' She signs with her free paw.

"...Headmaster or no, I will be here for you, from this day forth. I swear it."
Lokyar took a pin from a pocket and pricked a finger before pressing his palm against the floor, sealing his blood-oath in a ward. After this, he healed his finger and went back to hugging Avine.

She smiles a little and hugs him, rubbing his back and wiping her eyes as she could feel tears welling up and threatening to spill over. 'Thank you..' She signs, turning her gaze to the floor.

Jackal smiles and turns his gaze away from them, letting them have their moment. It's best to not interrupt moments like these, he thought to himself.

Blitz rested his scared body upon the school rooftop. He notices one of his favorite comrades in Dragon Riding class lying dead on the ground. Blitz quickly came down and curled up next to body. He summons rain to fall, to represent his sadness.

"SSHH! I hear movement!" Lokyar whispered frantically.
Sure enough, you all hear footsteps wandering outside, and the door is flung open, revealing a couple of the teachers who had survived the Evacuation.
((Avine, control shifts to you. If you wish to follow this chain of events. I feel the cowering has been done to the limit.))

Jackal turned his head to look at the teachers.
"Um.... guys?" he said, glancing back at Avine and Lokyar. "We're not alone anymore..."

Warren turned his head to the others, holding his breath, a face of fright beheld him.

"Where's the headmaster?" The taller of ther two ask. Tears start streaming down her face again and she puts her face in her paws. "That fool didn't.." He says, realizing what'd happened by her reaction.

Lokyar pulled away from Avine.
"Please, not here. Come with me."
He takes them down the corridor and round the corner before explaining what happened. He seemed as stricken as Avine while in the telling, especially while he explained how he had tried to bring him back. When the three of them returned, Lokyar was being near-carried by the other two - such was his grief.

The taller teacher lets go of Lokyar's and goes over to Avine. He gives her a hug, having been close to her father, and was possibly the next in line foe the position. "It's all right, I'm sure he tried his best." He says, pulling away.

When the taller teacher let go of Lokyar, he fell to the ground; almost pulling the shorter down on top of him. Upon the tiled floor came a soft *plink*, then another, and another, as a pool of tears slowly developed and widened below Lokyar's muzzle. He muttered sadly and incoherently - it sounded like a heartfelt apology, despite an inability from all around to understand even one of the words being said.

She rushes over to him and kneels next to him. 'It's okay, you did your best. None of us blame you for what happened.' She signs, sniffling a little. The teachers nod to them and move to talk to Warren and the others.

Jackal stood sadly and followed Kitane, a deep rage against the villains who caused this grief burning deep within his skull.

Savel stayed leaning against the wall, holding the headmasters sword. He bowed his head and thought to himself,"It's my fault... I wasn't there... I wasn't strong enough... I wasn't fast enough..." his hands were shaking and his knuckles were white from him gripping it so hard. He opened his eyes and looked at avine and his vision became blurry. He blinked away the tears threatening to overflow.

Lokyar grabs Avine, looking deep into her eyes.
"Healing. It's all I can do, and I failed. You understand? I failed. At the one thing I can do... I'm worthless..."
Tears flowed freely, and he collapsed face-down, unable to so much as save his muzzle from hitting the ground suddenly. He was conscious, but he twitched violently, and couldn't lift so much as a finger off the ground.
"...wtr..." he muttered through a jaw he couldn't move. He last remembered having a drink at the coffee bar the day before with Avine, but even then it was COFFEE - and caffeine is well known for causing dehydration.

She helps him up off the floor and offers a slight smile to Savel. 'You did fine. It was bound to happen sometime.' She signs to him. She gives him a half hug, as best that she can while supporting Lokyar.

"Alright, I think perhaps we should all get a drink of water," Jackal said. "That was probably quite dehydrating for most of you."

Savel smiled on the outside and hugged her as best he could, but on the inside it was eating him alive. He turned to Zephyr and smiled slightly, and said in a sort of mono tone,"sure, watter will be fine." he started to open the door, expecting a skeleton to come at him. He was on full alert, the sword clenched in his hands.

Avine notices Savel's being tense still but doesn't say anything, offering him a slight smile. She helps Lokyar down to the cafeteria, grabbing a couple bottles of water the cafeteria crew were handing out. She walks him to a table near the doors incase the others decided to join them.

Jackal took a bottle of water as well, following Lokyar and Kitane to the table. He sat down next to them.

She looks to Jackal and opens Lokyar's water for him. 'How are you feeling?' She signs to Jackal.

Jackal looked over at Avine. "Well, my arm's a little sore, but otherwise I'm fine," he said, gently taking hold of his left shoulder just above a slightly bloody tear in his sleeve. He shuddered. "I thought that we were gonna get massacred..." He looked over at Avine. "I'm sorry about your father... he was a very nice man."

She nods slightly and takes a drink from her water. 'It's a good thing that he built he bunkers in each of the class rooms and his office.' She signs, setting the water back on the table. She lightly touches the wound on Jackal's arm and a flash of light emits from her paw, healing the small wound. 'You shouldn't keep things like that hidden. It could get infected..' She signs, smiling slightly.

Jackal smiles slightly, looking into Avine's eyes. "Thanks, Avine. I'll make sure to do that next time. I forgot in all the excitement." He looked back at his water and took a gentle sip.

Savel followed everyone into the cafe and he leaned against the wall and closed his eyes, sliding to the ground and put his arms on his knees and sighed, mumbling to himself,"i wasn't fast enough..."

Lokyar reached out for his water, picked it up and tried to drink from it - only about a third of the bottle actually went down his gullet; the rest was lost to shaking and nearly dropping the bottle and such. He stands up, takes a couple of steps towards getting another and collapses again - this time he can drag himself further, and does so.

She helps him up from the floor and helps him back to the table. She grabs her water, helping him drink it without spilling it this time. She sighs and gets up, walking over to Savel and crouching next to him. She puts a paw on his shoulder and forces him to look at her. 'Listen, you tried your best. I don't think that any of us would have gotten to him in time to save him.' She signs, putting a reassuring paw on his shoulder. 'Dont blame yourself, okay? I know that not everyone can be a hero. Trust me, I know..' A small smile finds its way to her muzzle and she nods slightly. 'Come sit with us.' Standing she offers her paw to help him up off the floor. She was trying to help her friends get past the traumatic experience and be strong for them, but on the inside she was about to break down again.

Jackal got up and walked over next to Avine, ready to help in case Savel needed more support. He casually glanced at Avine as he came over and felt a surge of respect for her. She had been through so much, but she managed to stay strong for others. I imagine that she's going to be a great headmaster someday, he thought to himself.

Savel looked at her and smiled slightly. He looked at Jackal and smiled again, he grabbed her paw and he stood up with her help and he walked over and sat down, putting the sword across his lap and looked at the table," I'm sorry Avine...."

'It's okay, you tried your best.' She nods to Savel. She sighs silently, but doesn't sit down. She was too anxious to sit and felt the need to go see how the teachers and other students were doing. A light shiver runs down her spine and she stretches, glancing around at some of the other injured students.

Jackal stood next to Avine, also too anxious to sit. "So... what are we gonna do about the skeletons?" he asked Avine as she stretched.

She shrugs and looks out to the outside of the school. 'We'll have to clean out the remains of what had been killed.' She signs, popping her back and neck.

"Okay... but how do we defeat the skeletons?" Jackal shrugged. "I understand the taking care of our dead thing, but how do we take care of the villains?"

'The Evacuation is over. They all retreated. They're gone now. Otherwise we wouldn't have been able to get down here.' She signs, shaking her head slightly.

Savel closed his eyes and put his head on the table,"they were strong, and didn't tire out... And once we killed one, another one stood in it's place. They didn't end..." he shivered and gripped the headmasters sword and closed his eyes. He stood up and walked around, unable to sit still.

Jackal grinned sheepishly. "Oh yeah... right. Sorry, I asked the wrong question, just still kinda scared..." He cleared his throat and sat down, then looked up at Avine. "Um... how did you... lose your voice?"

She shivers slightly, pointing to the scar on her neck. 'My throat was sliced open during the Evacuation ten years ago. My vocal chords were severed in the process..' She explains, wincing slightly.

Lokyar stood up, rather shakily, said "This I must do, for the safety and reputation of the school, and for the health of all.", and moved over to the injured students and teachers. He came to the first and healed a Divination major with a minor scratch on his arm, who seemed much more incapacitated than the injury would suggest; a viscous green fluid spurted out, avoided surrounding furs and hit the ground in a glob. The floor underneath it began to smoke as Lokyar staggered and caught himself and the student's wound healed.
Lokyar moved to another and repeated the Restoration to another student - this time a Destruction major with a specialism in pyromancy - with a wound dealt by a spiked mace to the chest. This time the fluid was yellow and seemed harmless till he threw a plucked strand of fur into it, sending vicious insects flying which were quickly incinerated by an alert teacher. Lokyar nearly fell this time.
Lokyar repeated the process three more times with various toxins inside the student's bodies before he could do no more and collapsed again. The healed were standing up already, and you note that there were those who hated him and liked him, hated Avine and liked her, hated authority and obeyed it, representatives of many different viewpoints in those five people.
Lokyar had worked hard to save those he could, to the point of inspiring loyalty to those who were hated by others in those who did the hating; all prejudices that remained in the face of the attack faltered with Lokyar's show of neutrality.
All those who could heal even so much as a bruise - even those healed by Lokyar - moved to help the injured; again to reinforce the point they healed even those they had reason not to. One of them carried Lokyar back over to the group, smiling.
"Because of him, people will live who surely would have died; more than those he personally healed. We didn't know of the toxins before now, and our healers will work on removing them. I have looked at him, and it seems he suffers from mild dehydration and energy over-expenditure. All he needs now is rest, and then he should be able to recover on his own," the healer said. He laid Lokyar down on a seat around the table and melted back into the crowd.
((Sorry if I rushed too quickly, I just thought it was a cool idea - especially the insect-spawning toxin - and wanted to get it out before I forgot it. Also, lol at Google Chrome not recognizing the word "pyromancy" or even suggesting anything that suggests I misspelled it. Just didn't recognize it at all.))

Jackal cocked his head and raised an eyebrow. "Couldn't you have gotten them fixed?"

She nods to the healer and starts making a makeshift I.V. drip. Looking to Jackal, she shakes her head and finishes making it, grabbing some of the water before inserting the needle into Lokyar's arm. 'No, the doctors said it was too risky to fix. I'd lost a lot of blood all ready, and putting me under would have most likely killed me.' She signs.
(It's the marking for her family clan. See, I'm writing a story with one I my friends, involving Avine as a half vampire half demon. But, the Arkane history is too lengthy to put here. Three branches: Demon, Vampire, Vempirm. :3 Each has a different marking. And it's spelled right Lokyar. X3)

Jackal sighed sadly. "That's a shame. I bet you had a really pretty voice."

'My father was the only one that could really tell you.' Nodding, she sighs slightly, her amber eyes changing emotions. 'If you'll excuse me, I need to go take care of a few things...' She signs, walking from the cafeteria. There was a definite change in her posture and the air around her seemed darker than it usually was, her tails limp and dragging the ground behind her. She makes her way to her room, closing and locking the door behind her. She leans against it and slides down to the floor, glaring at the carpet. She was strong around and for the others, but it was starting to become to much and she was going to possibly snap at the next person moping. Tears spill over and slide down her face, but she doesn't notice. Instead, she keeps the door locked and walks to the bathroom, flipping on the light. She stares at her reflection in the mirror, but she doesn't see the shadow of her guilt and anger lurking just behind her reflection.

Lokyar coughs.
"She still does, audible or not." He coughs again, harder this time. "The fluidity of her paws, the beauty of her body, all that makes her her is still great, speech or no. And a voice is not merely speech." He doesn't notice Avine leave just as he finishes.

A shadowy hand is placed on her shoulder and a sinister voice whispers in her ear. "Now my dear, it is your turn. Your family will be waiting for you on the other side." It hisses. Her paw shakily pulls back and smashes into the mirror. Picking up a large shard of the glass, she grips it tightly, cutting into her paw but she doesn't seem to care. The shadow figure hisses in laughter, watching the events unfold.

"You're right, Lokyar." He turned to tell Avine that, but she was gone. "That's odd," he said. The cat smiled. "She's probably in her room, I'll go fetch her." Running to her room, he finds that the door is locked. Shrugging, he turned away... when sudden;y, he heard a really scary nose on the onther side of the door. Not stopping to think, Jackal bolts out of the building and around to Avine's windo, where he stares in horror at the scene before him. The window was closed, but he knew that ther was one way through it. Bracing himself, Jackal smashed throught the window into the room and landed on the floor with a thump.

Savel was walking the hallway when he heard the glass break and he broke into avine's room and nocite a dark shadow near her, and the mirror sharp in her paw, and he ran infront of her an grabbed her shoulders,"avine.... Listen to me calm down, this isn't your fault! Don't do this!" he wrapped her in a hug and held her tightly,"don't do this... Your not leaving..."

The figure hisses, and she winces slightly, her amber eyes slightly dulled, glazed over all most. The glass slips from her paw, leaving behind a large gash along with the smaller shards stuck in the back of her paw. A hiss erupts, breaking the silence. "I will be back for her. This isn't the last you've seen of me!" The shadow growls, dissipating through the walls. All most immediately, she passes out against Savel, her eyes rolled back into her head.

"Owwww..." Jackal opened his eyes, glass dust in his hair and bleeding from a deep gash in his arm. He got up and, remembering what Avine said, looked over at Savel. "Um... Avine told me to tell someone the next time I got hurt..."

Savel quickly grabbed her when she slumped against him. He growled when the shadow dissapeared,"the next time you show yourself, will be the last time you see us..." he looked at jackal and smiled,"I-I don't know what to do man..."

Jackal shrugged. "Well, it hurts... a lot... but more importantly, we're going to need help." Jackal ran past Savwel and into the cafeteria, where he found Lokyar. "Lokyar!" he whispered urgently, shaking him a bit. "Wake up, something weird just happened!"

Lokyar staggered up, having followed Cifero, but lost him as he got to the corridor leading to Avine's room. Seeing the shattered door, he tries to get inside, but struggles with the I.V. drip. He hangs it on a nearby coat hook and reaches to Jackal.
His fur glows golden, moreso than when he healed the injured students and the glow seems to reach towards Jackal, holding him in place for a few seconds as something sharp moves inside his arm. Suddenly, a large shard of glass pings out, and the bleeding stops and the gash heals, leaving no scar. Jackal is released, but the glow extends from him, draining his energy now as Lokyar seems to be struggling to sustain it.
It hits Savel, healing him from any shrapnel or anything that caught him from breaking the door down or the confrontation. Now draining from Jackal and Savel, and only a little coming from Lokyar with his control, the glow continues to extend into Avine. At this point, Lokyar is blinding to look at, like the sun incarnate. Avine seems to glow herself, as many small shards of mirror glass ping from her wounds and the wounds heal up. Lokyar staggers and collapses again, the I.V. drip rigged to be strong enough to support his arm off the ground. The repeated drain on his energy seems to be taxing him, for when he has only just recovered he is called upon again. ((In other words, STOP HURTING YOURSELVES! Also, that took quite a bit of energy from you two. :3 ))

Avine remains out, twitching slightly as she felt the energy heaing her. Her head rolls back, her ankle-length hair touching the floor. A sinister cackle echoes around them and a soft whimper emits from her as she shivers. She felt cold to the touch, but that was normal due to her being half demon half snake.

"GAH!" Jackal dropped to the floor, suddenly weakened. "Sheesh... why'd he do that? I never said we needed him to heal anyone, I just thought he'd like to know..." Sighing, he stood over Lokyar, set his hands on him, and gave him a massive burst of energy that replenished Lokyar's energy halfway. "There," Jackal said. "He should be fine now." Jackal got up, unfazed by the strange cackle, and helped Kitane onto her bed before curling up on her feet to warm her.
(Dude. I did NOT ask you to heal all of us! I just wanted you to come and check things out! That and nothing more! *facepalm* I gotta mention this stuff beforehand...)

"Ooohhhh" Lokyar moaned as he stood up. "Avine..."
He moved over to Avine and sat on the floor by her bed, still too weak to try and return her to consciousness.
((I know you didn't ask me to heal you all. Problem was, I had that all typed up BEFORE you returned to the cafeteria. Or I had it typed before I realized you had, anyway. Pure chance it fit so well, really.))

Another cackle rips throughout the room, causing Avine to arch her back and her jaws part in a silent scream. She grips the sheets, her eyes flying open as she feels pain flares through her nerves. The shadow figure cackles again, forming into the room as a dark cloud, enjoying ripping her soul from her body. The figure reveals itself as the Reaper who'd taken her father's soul.

"NO! YOU! YOU WILL NOT HAVE HER TOO!" Lokyar shouts at the top of his voice while diving at the Reaper, energized by his hate, fear, anger and desire for revenge of his failure. He chants a few words as he flies, and his friends feel any magical essences they possess increase in power to assist him in the combat. Unfortunately, he cannot limit this, and the Reaper is also slightly further empowered.

"Alright... take THIS!!" Jackal let loose with a giant enerygy ulse that knocked the Reaper off Kitane, then leaped over the bed after it, drawing his weapons.

The Reaper hisses, losing its grip on Avine's soul. She falls back against the bed, breathing heavily while she's out of it. "I will have her. She should have died the last time!" It hisses, the fires where its eyes should be in its skull glowing black. "You will not see the last of me. Her soul is as good as mine!" The Reaper howls, finally disappearing, leaving a cloud of black smoke which quickly fades. Avine lays still, her breathing calm but slightly irregular.

Lokyar pants and goes to Avine, inspecting her for any overt sign of injury or illness. With what is very nearly the last of his energy he lays a hand on her chest and casts spells to heal as best he can her symptoms and if possible cause, and chants three words.
"Senventior, Disthiniumuln, Teritunmitor!"
The aura fades, disempowering local magic, and Lokyar passes out, not a mere collapse, but unconsciousness claims him.

Jackal sheathed his weapons and carefully checked Avine's pulse. "She's fine," he said, looking over at Savel.

(God dammit!!!! I wanted to eff up the reaper... you guys suck!!!!! lmao.)
Savel stood wher he was waiting for the right time to move to destroy the reaper, but he disappeared before he could even move. Savel growled and glared at where the reaper was," Try it... and you die..." he looked at jackal and nodded slightly when he said that she was fine. he gripped the headmasters sword and smiled," the next time he comes... it will be the last time he sees us."

She jolts awake suddenly, banging her head against Jackal's as she sits up a little fast. Rubbing her forehead, she gets a sudden head rush from moving too quickly, feeling suddenly nauseated. She shivers and remains still, her eyes gaining their bright amber color yet again.

Savel looks at her and smiles," And she's awake, How did you sleep?" he smirked and sat on the edge of the bed and smiled down at her.

Holding up her paw, she jumps out of the bed and runs to the bathroom, closing the door behind her. She groans inwardly, vomiting up anything that was in her system into the toilet. This goes unheard since she can't make a sound. She closes her eyes and breathes slightly heavily, wondering why she was in her room and where her father was. As realization hits, she wraps her arms around herself, breaking into silent sobs.

Savel walked over to the bathroom and knocked on the door, opening it up and walking in, sitting beside her and putting an arm around her and he leaned on her and rubbed her back gently," it's okay... everything's gonna be okay..."

Warren sat up from rubble, unable to remember how he got there.
Sitting up he felt a sharp pain enveloping his left though there was no physical indication of any harm.
"What happened" he said to himself, finding himself alone in an empty street, the sky a strange shade of purple, buildings towering yet devoid of life.
"Where am I?"

She buries her face into his shoulder, allowing the tears to fall freely and sniffling a little. Taking a shaky breath, she wipes her eyes and looks up at him. 'I'm sorry..' She signs, more tears threatening to spill over.

He smiled and held her tightly," It's okay... Just let it out..." He closed his eyes and held her against his chest.

She starts crying harder, now having no family left. A light shiver runs through her and she closes her eyes, sniffling and tryingto stop the flow of tears, but they just keep falling.

Savel rubbed her back and he had her look at him," i know how it feels to have no family... but you... you have us... we are your family..." he smiled slightly and continued to rub her back.

Warren stood alone and tried walking forwards as he heard the sound of a thousand beating wings coming towards him. A black cloud of black birds.
He only realised they were ravens when they flew past him, the wind picking him off his feet and falling onto the ground, picking himself up, seeing his family standing there, watching as the ground melted under warren, swallowing him whole, drowning him, turning everything to black as the thick dark liquid fills his lungs
"Wake up"
Those words echo through his mind.

After a few moments, she finally gets the tears to stop and she nods. 'I know and I hate that you have to see me this way.' She signs, sniffling and wiping her eyes again. She takes a shaky breath, a small yawn parting her jaws. 'I think we should all get some rest..' Giving Savel a hug, she starts to get to her feet, but the nauseous feeling returns and she stops.

Savel smiled, hugging her back," aww don't worry about it." he smiled and he slowly lifted her up and brought her back to the bedroom and gently laid her down on the bed and smiled," anything that you need?"

She shakes her head and smiles at him slightly. 'No, but thanks for asking.' She signs to him. Stretches and sighs silently, crawling under her covers and curling up. Within minutes, she's sound asleep, completely under her covers.

He pulled up a chair and he sat next to the bed and smiled at her," your welcome." he watched as she fell asleep and he sat there, watching her. He still had the head masters sword, he put it across his lap and leaned back in the chair, sighing.

Warren was awoken by another student, another red fox by the look of things.
"Wake up" she said again, warren sitting up with fright crossed over his face, grabbing the wrist oh the girl as he sat up, she flinched out of fright, going "eep".
Warren sat dazed and confused for a few seconds trying to recollect what had happened, only finding a headache where the memory should be.
He then stood up briskly, taking the vixen's paw and looked into her eyes with a serious face.
"Thank you"
And with that he took off and ran to find everyone else.

Jackal remains curled up on Kitane's feet, purring softly.

Avine shifts under the covers, rolling onto her side, the tips of her ears barely visible from under the covers. (I'm NOT letting this die. ._.)

Jackal continued to warm Avine's feet, wondering what her voice had sounded like.

Savel slowly closed his eyes and ge drifted of to sleep, sitting in the chair, gripping the headmasters sword. He quickly opened his eyes and looked around, waiting for the shadow demon to show up. He felt like something was gonna happen, but he didn't know what.

A tremor runs through her and a flash of light nearly blinds them all. An apparition of her mother stands at the foot of the bed, her ethereal hair flowing to the right.

Jackal stands up straight, backing off of the bed at the sight of the apparition. "Wh.... what are you?"

Savel stood up from the chair and looked at the apperarion," avine's mother..." he said breathlessly,"i-is something wrong with avine?"

The apparition shakes her head, pulling back the blankets that cover Avine. In an echoing kind of voice, she starts speaking. "I'm only here to fix this." She says, pointing to the scar at Avine's neck as she rolls onto her back.

Lokyar was jerked back to wakefulness by the apparition's voice. He stood up, shakily, observing carefully for any overt hostile/threatening action against his beloved.
"..."
He licked his lips, waiting for whatever comes next.

Warren was outside Avine's room and heard something unearthly inside, he slowly opened the door to see what was happening and saw the apparition.

The apparition touches a single claw to the scar, healing the sliced vocal chords, but not the scar. It is left as a painful reminder of what Avine had lost. One that she couldn't, nor would ever forget. A light shiver runs through Avine, causing the apparition to shimmer slightly. "Before I leave: her voice won't be back for the next few days. Until then, let nothing happen to her or face a painful existence." She says, her hair movin out to all directions and the air in the room becoming heavier. With another shiver, the apparition is gone, the air in the room returning back to normal. Avine remains asleep, a light, clearly audible sigh escapes from her muzzle; whereas it would have gone unnoticed before.

Jackal looked at Avine in surprise. "Oh my god," he said. "she can talk again..." Putting on a brave face, the cat curled up on Avine's feet again mainly to keep her warm, but now with the added impetus to protect her from any dark shadows, Johnny Depp or otherwise.

As she sleeps, she turns over onto her side, pulling the cover back up over her head. This was how she preferred to sleep, since it kept her warm. And she loved the warmth due to her being cold blooded.

Lokyar "wakes up", having been stunned by Avine's audible sigh.
"...Jackal... Do you think we should wake her and let her know?...."

Warren knocked on the door before entering.
"I heard something... Did anything happen?"

Lokyar whispered to Warren, "Warren. It's truely awesome. Stay quiet and listen..."

A light sigh escapes from under the covers as she shifts around to curl into a ball, though stretching before she does.

Jackal smiles and nods, standing up. He gently walked over to Avine's head and touched her shoulder. "Avine, wake up," he whispered softly, smiling.

Her ears flick slightly, but she doesn't wake up yet, only slipping further under the covers. She grumbles a little in her sleep, a light shiver running through her.

Lokyar tried the same, stroking her side slightly, repeatedly whispering at her to wake up.

Her ears flick a couple more times and she groans softly, stretching as she pops her head out from under the covers. "Mmm.." She hums, the sound not registering to her ears.

Lokyar hugs Avine tightly, leaning over her bed.
"Avine, it's a miracle! Listen to yourself!" He says, ruffling the fur on the back of her head.

She hugs him back slowly, unsure of what he meant. She opens her mouth, then closes it, her eyes flicking to Jackal. 'What happened while I was out?' She signs, tilting her head and blinking.

Jackal smiled. "Your mom visited." He turned away, and then suddenly reached over and pinched Kitane's arm.

"Ow! What was tha-" She stops, her eyes widening. "I thought.." She jumps at the sound of her own voice. It sounds foreign, the feel of words forming on her tongue different after ten years of not using them. "..How..?" She says, her voice somewhat hoarse.

Jackal smiled. "I was right about your voice being pretty." He chuckled. "You mom fixed your vocal chords."

Lokyar stands up and backhands Jackal.
"That was uncalled for!" He shouts angrily.
He looks back over at Avine, face softening instantly.
"There was... a spectre. I sensed healing energies from it, and after it left, we heard you sighing in your sleep. It claimed to be your mother, but I cannot verify or deny it's claim. It could be, and it could not. It is a gift, and I must say, your voice is more lovely than I ever dreamed, even coming from you!"

Her eyes widen further and her jaw nearly hits the bed. "S-she.. Fixed them..?" She stutters, her amber eyes confused, though it was more evident in her voice. "U-um.. Thanks.." She smiles slightly. If her mother appeared now to heal her, then why couldn't she have helped her ten years ago? Anger starts to fill in her chest and she stares at the bed, gripping the sheets.

"OW!" Jackal rubbed his arm. "THAT was uncalled for!"

Lokyar embraces Avine again.
"Dear, I don't know what you are thinking, but don't get upset over this gift. Neither I, your father, any of the others here, or even - I suspect - you expected it to ever happen. It might not have. It did though, and I, for one, do not want to lose a voice that is such music to my ears." He smiled and flicked said ears pointedly.

She wraps her arms around him and buries her face into his shoulder. "I don't understand.. Why now? And why not then?" She whispers, her ears folding back. She was grateful for the fix, but she just didn't understand why she didn't help back then. A soft sigh escaped from her and she hides her face in his shoulder, feeling tears welling up as she remembered her mother.

Lokyar shifted, sitting on the bed and cradling Avine, stroking her and making soothing sounds, not even trying to explain until Avine calmed down or let it all out.

She lays her head against his chest and calms down, blinking away her tears. She sighs lightly and rubs her eyes, getting any of the sleep she might've had linger.

Lokyar continued stroking Avine as he began to explain what he thought.
"I don't know for certain why your "mother", if the spectre was indeed such, did not come and fix it sooner, nor do I know why the healers of this city did not do it themselves. Personally, I assumed the best efforts had been expended, and I could not do better. But I digress. One possible explaination is that it was indeed your mother, and it took 10 years for her soul to finally escape from the Reaper. But there are many more, and I cannot explain nor think of them all. Best not to think about it, I think, and just delight in that you have your voice back."

She listens intently and curls up closer to his chest, a slight smile crossing her muzzle. "I'm just glad she showed up.." She mumbles, her eyes closing slowly. A lighthearted smile crosses her muzzle and she stays against him like this.

Lokyar smiled and continued holding Avine, as he turned his head to look at the clock. It was only an hour till dawn. <expletive regarding intercourse>! I've been awake all night... He didn't let his smile slip and just looked down at his beloved, stroking as he thought.

Still being tired, she starts to drift off in his arms, her breathing becoming regular and slow. She pulls her legs up, a light smile still across her muzzle.

Savel sat down when the apperation left, then turned to look at avine when she spoke, and he smiled. But when they all fell asleep, he stood up, and walked to the door, opening it and closing it as softly as possible, and he started to walk the halls, the sword still in his hand. As he walked, he thought about things that have happened previously in his life. He wasn't paying attention, and he bumped into a black female panther. He stumbled slightly and smiled at ger,"oh um... Sorry, i wasn't watching where i was going." he looked down and started to walk away from her, when he felt someone grab his shirt sleeve.
He turned around and looked at her,"um... Is something wrong?" the panther looked down and then closed her glowing yellow eyes and then looked up at him," I need your help." her viice was filled with sadness an fear. He looked at her paw, and her claws were extended, poking holes into his sleeve,"okay, what's going on?"
She tugged him the way that he was going, and she didn't give him time to realize hat was going on, when they started to sprint down the hall, turning this way and that, going to places in the scholl that were forign to him. He tried to remember where they were going, but he failed to remember it all. Then she suddenly stopped, him slamming into her, but she turned around right before he did so she was embracing him. His face reddened, but his breath stayed normal,"um..." she looked down and shoved him against a wall pinning his arms there, the area they were in just so happened to be a dead end. He stared at her and she stared right back at him,"i need you help..." he smiled,"well you certinly got my attention... What do you need?" she stepped in closer to him, putting her head on his shoulder, and her paws on his biceps,"you...." he looked down at her an tilted his head,"me?"
She looked up at him and smiled slightly, sadness was showing clearly in her eyes,"please... During the evacuation... My best friend was killed... Before today, we saw you walking the halls, and we both decided that... One of us would build up the nerve to talk to you. Neither of us couldn't... But when the evacuation happened, she got stabbed from one of those things... And right before she...." she paused and took a deep shakey breath,"right before she died.... She told me to talk to you Savel... To walk with from class to class.... To sit and have lunch together..." she closed her eyes as tears started to fall. He wrapped his arms around her and closed his eyes,"okay... I'll do what she wanted.... But honestly.... All you had to do was ask..." he looked down at her and smiled. She sniffed and wiped her eyes," thank you..."
He smiled,"your welcome... But um... Since you know my name... What's yours?" she grinned,"alaspar." he smiled,"what a nice name... Nice to meet you alaspar." he smiled and she held him close to her, pressing him up against the wall, not wanting to let him go, and b the way that he was holding her, it felt like he didn't want to let her go either. They stayed like that untill dawn. Then started to walk back to the cafe, when he stopped, and turned into his room, and pulled her with him. He laid down on on the bed and. She laid down next to him, nearly passing out right when her head hit the pillow, he smiled,"lets both get some sleep..." she smiled,"I agree..." she turned to him and watched as he closed his eyes and slowly drifted off to sleep. She laid there a few seconds more, watching him, but then sleep over took her, and she fell asleep.
(shh..... I know it's a long post... I just felt like i needed to do something, so i posted practically a short story. :D)

Warren stood in silence in avine's room, remembering thins said the previous day about the failed resurrection of avine's mother and the theft of he soul by the leader of the skeletal beings.
"Could it be" warren started to say, trailing off into deeper thought, only to re-capture his train of thought.
"Could it be that your mother's soul escaped captivity?" He said stepping forward and holding his hand behind his back, looking around for further input from the others.

Savel opened his eyes and saw Alaspar looking at him. He smiled slightly,"good morning... Were you awake long?" he got up and stretched, popping his back, and opening his door. He turned around to see her sitting on the bed, staring at him,"no i woke up a few minutes before you..." she got up and walked out of his room, grabbing his paw as she passed him and walked to the cafe, with him in tow.

Avine remains asleep against Lokyar, nothing really coming to her as of dreams or nightmares.

Warren realised he was just talking to himself and slumped into a chair in the corner of the room, deep into thought.

"That's a probable theory," Jackal said, looking up at Warren. "Sorry about delaying a reply, I was cogitating about your thought."

Alasper brought him to the cafe, and sat him down, walking over to the food line, getting only one plate of food, and bring it over to him, and sitting down across from him," here..." He looked at her and then the food," aren't you hungry?" She smiled," no not really... you eat it." He needed no second bidding, and he started to eat. She smiled and watched him eat. He started to slow down, and wobble slightly, and he looked at her," w-what..." He collapsed against the table and she smiled," I told you I needed you..."
She stood up and picked him up, throwing him over her shoulder with ease, and carrying him to that familiar dead end, dropping him on the ground and leaning up to his ear," It you survive... Come find me..." and she walked away. she turned back to look at him, and she smiled when she turned the corner. Once she did, He arched his back and growled in pain.

Stretching, she remains asleep against Lokyar, never really moving aside from breathing.

Jackal waited for warren's reply.

Savel growled and arched his back, starting to shake uncontrolably, gritting his teeth and squeezing his eyes closed. He heard her come back, probably to check on him to see if he was still alive.

"alas, 'tis but a theory"
warren looker around the room before getting up from the chair and stretching
"but if it is true" he said clicking his neck "then there is a good chance hope is not lost"
he looked back a jackal
"what are your thoughts?"

Jackal shrugged. "Well, to tell the truth, I was thinking the same thing... but another thought occured to me." He glanced over at Avine. "What if the Reaper LET Avine's mother's soul escape?"

Lokyar awakens from his doze, and gently lays Avine down to the bed before staggering off, tired. He headed to his old haunt, a dead end no-one seemed to go to. He stumbled upon Savel when he got there.

(just him, writhin on the floor, and one door at the end.)
Savel growled and shook on the floor, writhing an wimpering in pain from an unseen force. He felt like he was goin to die, the pain was so great.

Lokyar knelt next to Savel, not even bothering to try and communicate; he could see Savel would struggle to respond and he was wary. He stretched out a paw and sent out a thin beam of gold energy, and his fur glowed golden as it resonated with the heal. The poison was slowly drawn out through Savel's muzzle.

After a few more minutes of sleeping, Avine awakens slowly, feeling slightly like she'd slept for days. Everything seemed like a dream to her, and she was unsure of what to do. Glancing around, she remembers what had happened, looking from Warren to Jackal with a blank look. She yawns and gets up, walking into her bathroom and closing the door.

Savel felt the pain subside, and he stopped shaking. He slowly opened his eyes and groaned, the darkness seemed too bright for him. He looked around and saw lokyar kneeling next to him. He jumped up and slammed him into the wall, putting his forearm against his throat, and snarling, his eyes changed color since the last time that lokyar saw him.

Jackal pricked his ears up. "Hmmm.... Lokyar's been gone for a long time... Too long." The cat stood up and headed for the door. "I'm going to follow his scent and see if I can find him," he said, opening the door. "Tell Avine where I've gone if she asks about either me or Lokyar." Closing the door, he dashed in the direction of Lokyar's scent and soon came to the dead end...
"What the... SAVEL!" Moving quickly, the cat dashed down the alleyway and tapped Savel. "Savel, let go of him!" he said, tugging on the wolf's arms.

Savel hear anothe set of footsteps running tword him long before he saw them. He was already looking in the direction that jackal was coming from when he turned the corner. Savel snarled and shoved him hard, sending him into the opposite wall, then he looked back at Lokyar and blinked a few times, haking his head and putting his arms to the side, his eyes still te same as before, but it seemed like he didn't know anyone or where he was. He stood in the middle of the hallway, lookin at a wall, seeming to space out.

Jackal grunted as he heard something snap. "Rggh!" He muttered, launching a ball of harmless stun energy at Atticus with his right hand.

Lokyar held his throat as he was released, but at the same time had to dive to save Atticus from the ball of energy, taking it upon himself instead.
"He...He....is...n't...him....se....lf...." Lokyar said, fighting through the stun to end the combat before it begins. Regardless, he was unable to do anything beyond speak now.

Jackal faceplamed. "Lokyar, you idiot...." He looked up at Savel, cradling his injured arm. "This could get interesting..."
(That was meant to STUN him, not kill him.)

Savel turned on cifero and snarled, running up to him and using the full force of his body, slamming his fist into jackals stomach, hopefully knocking the wind out of him and knocking him on the ground. He stood there in between the two, snarling and clenching his fists

Hearing the racket, Avine steps into the hall, walking to where they are. "Savel. Enough." She says, tilting her head to the side. "What's gotten into you?" She asks, seeing Lokyar and Jackal, shock evident in her amber eyes.

ackal collapsed, the wind knocked out of him, and laid still for a few seconds... before aiming a kick at Savel's crotch.

Savel easily grabbed jackals paw and sweaped his legs out from under him, then he brought his le up and slammed his heel into jackals head, not hard, but enough to make a point to not get up again. He turned on avine, but he just stared at her, not doing anything except snarling and clanching his paws again. His eyes changing from his regulat color to a deep red.

"Rggh... Avine, he's.... not himself..." Jackal looked up at her. "Something's... wrong with him... RUN." Suddenly, Jackal got bach up and leaped on Savel in an atte[t to wrap his arms around his neck. "GO! GET HELP!"

Blinking several times, she steps forward, folding back her ears. She could feel a dark energy flowing from him and stopped. "Who did this to you?" She hissed, her tongue flicking to catch any scent. Stepping forward further, she pulls Jackal off and gently sets him down. "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing." She says, smiling slightly. Standing back up, she turns to Savel and stands less than six inches from him. Reaching her left paw out for him, she pauses as her paw is close enough to his muzzle.

Savel was about to throw jackel off of him, but he stopped when avine held out her paw. He stared at her paw, and then he slowly looked up into her face and he tilted his head slightly like he was remembering who she was. He leaned forward and sniffed her paw slightly.
Alaspar turned the corner and smiled,"well... I see you found him. But there is nithing you cando, h has to fight this off for himself."

Her tails lash behind her, but she keeps her paw outstretched to Savel. "I know you're in there. Just snap out of this." She says, putting her paw on his muzzle. "You can pull through." She says with a slight smile. For now, she ignored Alaspar, not wanting to screw up her concentration.

"Right... I'll fight you." Rushing at Alaspar, Jackal lit up a hand with stun energy, balled it into a fist, and drove it right into her stomach.

She grinned and right before he hit her, she sidestepped him, and use his momentem to throw him across the hallway and out a window,"lets not, i didn't come here to fight. I came to check on him to see if he was alive. And you girl, aren't helping him. He needs to fight this for himself."
Savel growled and closed his eyes when she put her paw onto his muzzle. He stepped back and grabbed his head and hit his knees, snarling and curlin up in a ball on the ground, alaspar smiled,"he's almost done..."

Narrowing her eyes, she turns to Alaspar, her amber eyes glowing dangerously. "You think I'm going to let you hurt or mess with my friends? You're sadly mistaken." She hisses, her pupils narrowed. Electricity sparks at her fingertips, her tails lashing out behind her but never crossing paths.

Lokyar twitched, the energy he dived in front of beginning to wear off.
"Avine, not now! Wait!"
Lokyar twitched again and got a finger to his other arm, and for the brief instant of contact he glowed gold. His arm moved freely and he channeled more energy into himself. He staggered upright, unsteady and with his limbs randomly twitching and slowed by the remains of the energy Jackal thrust at Savel.
"Now." He said with satisfaction, waiting for the first move.

"Nice try."
Suddenly, Jackal came back in through the same window and tackled Alaspar, pinning her to the floor with his knees."I've got her... now do whatever you have to, guys!"

Alaspar smiled andeasily lifted jackal off the ground and threw him into the wall, making a nice hackal hole in the wall,"as i said, i'm not hear to fight." she looked at savel and smiled, her golden yellow eyes glowing in the dark,"I'm here to see if he makes it." at thar moment, savel snarled an grabbed his head and fell to his knees and roared, the sound wasn't normal, and he fell to his side and curled into a ball, his mouth foaming and his eyes rolled in back of his head.

"What have you done to him?" She growls, a shadow falling over her eyes. Her tails lash out, leaving holes in the walls and floor. Flicking her snake-like tongue, a deep hiss rumbles up from her chest, the electricity sparking at her fingertips and working its way up her arms. "Tell me now." She says, her amber eyes glowing under the shadow that had fallen over her face, a dangerous glint hidden in them.

Alaspar smiled,"me? All I did was give him some food." she smiled slightly,"and maybe mixed somethin in to make him stronger, faster, and obedient that was all."
Savel growled and started to whimper on the ground, convulsing and snarling in pain.

"Obedient?!" At the word, her ears snapped forward and the danger in her eyes showing clearly. Another hiss erupts from her and she moves like a striking snake, slamming Alaspar against the wall in a single flash of movement. Opening her mouth, she reveals the sharp and venomous fangs near her throat. "I would like to let you know that there is no cure for my poison. Jackal widened his eyes.
"Remind me not to annoy you," he said. "About anything. EVER."
Wincing, he gripped his left arm in pain and stood up, dagger in hand.

Alaspar smiled at avine and stared right into her eyes,"I figure as much, but here's the thing avine..." she easily got out of her grip and put her in a headlock, making sure to keep her back against the wall so no one could sneak up behind her. She put pressure on her neck and cut off her airway,"I'm stronger than you might think...." she smiled and nipped her earlobe and then threw her to the ground, right when savel stood up, his eyes red and a confused look on his face,"w-what happened? Oh! Hey guys, where are we?"

With a growl, she gets back up, clearly unglazed. "I never underestimate an opponent." She hisses, her fangs bared. Without a second thought, she sends a powerful wave of electricity through Alaspar, enough to knock her unconscious for quite a while. Re-hinging her jaw as her fangs fold back, she looks to Savel and smiles a little. "We're in the hall buddy." She nods.

"Yeah," Jackal said, cradling his arm close to his chest. "In the hall."

Savel stiffened when alaspar got hit from the electricity, and he ran up to her and knelt down next to her, checking to see if she was still breathing, thankfully se still was, and he looked a avine,"why did you do that?"
Alaspar could have easily dodgedthe attack, but she ddn't because he was awake and she looked at him and smiled right before she got hit.

Shaking her head, she walks from the area and sighs. 'What did she give him?' She thought, thinking as she walked.

Jackal looked at Savel, still breathing hard.
"Just get the hell away from her," he said, taking hold of his shirt collar and dragging him away. "She's not your type."

Walking up to the headmaster's office, she remains in thought the whole way and nearly runs into the wall. "Damn. I need to watch where I'm going." She grumbles. Continuing her way there, she stops at the door, wondering if any of the other teachers had gone inside yet. Someone would have to in order to retrieve the headmaster's body. Hesitating for a second, she walks in and heads straight for her father's library of books, only known to her and her father.

Savel easily broke jackals grip, and smiled slightly,"You have no idea..." he then froze,"h-how...." he looked down at his hands and then back at alaspar, walking over to her and picking her up, and carrying her to the headmasters office, settin her down against the wall and he sat down next to her.

Coming back out of the library, she turns a corner to the main office, holding a book that she knew had the right answer to her question. Glancing up, she doesn't say anything and sits at the desk that used to belong to her father. Flipping through the large book, she says nothing, tapping her foot lightly against the carpet.

Jackal sighed, rolling his eyes. "This is ridiculous," he muttered to himself, following Savel to the office and pushing him away from alaspar before taking the unconscious female and locking her in a closet. "It's for your own good, Savel," he said. drawing a sword.

Savel heard a light tapping and he opened his eyes right when jackal threw alaspar into the closet. He was to preocupied with trying to find the sorce of the tapping. He looke around and then he saw it was avine's foot and he smiled slightly. He stood up when he heard the sword get drawn, and he glared at jackal,"What do you think your gonna do with that? Poke me?" he smiled and stepped forward,"that won't stop me... If I wanted to, you all would be dead 10 times over..." his voice became lower slighty and his grin more sinister.

Jackal sighed. "Well, I know that, but it's not good for you to be near her. She's used a potion to make you her slave." He looked over at Avine. "Did you find anything?"

Glancing up from her reading, she sighs. "Savel, sit down." She says, running her finger across the page. "I think I'm close to finding something, but I don't have any idea." She says to Jackal.

"Well, you could ask her when she wakes up," Jackal said. "I quickly chained her up before I locked her in there, she should be of no problem to you."

"She won't tell us a damn thing." She hissed quietly. Stopping her finger at something, she reads the description and has an 'aha!' moment. Getting up, she picks up the book and disappears back into the library.

Jackal smiled. "Looks like she found something," he said to Savel. "You'll be back to normal in no time at all!"

From the hidden library, they could hear glass vials clanking together and a couple breaking, along with tripping and swearing. In minutes, she rushes back out, a couple of cuts and scrapes on her fingers and arm. Holding one of the vials in her left hand, she shakes it a couple times and adds a final ingredient, shaking it again as it turns to a clear substance.

"I take it that's how we're gonna cure him?" Jackal said, nodding at the vial.

"Yes." She grinned. "Hold this for me, Jackal." She says, holding the vial out to him. "I'm bleeding all over it." She says with an apologetic chuckle.

Jackal took the vial, sheathing his sword.
"Alright... hope you can fight Atticus, though," he said, handing her bandages with some pain. "I've only got one good arm right now, and I'm using it to keep the vial steady."

"Let me look at your bad arm in a minute." She says, bandaging her fingers. After covering the cuts, she wiggles her fingers and clenches her hands a couple times. "There, now I can look at you." She smiles.

"Ok..." Jackal gently offered her his left arm, not moving it far from his chest. "I think I might've broken it when I was trying to stop Alaspar..."

She sends a wave of electricity through his arm, not enough to cause damage or electrocute him, but enough for her to get an idea of what's up with his arm. Humming and putting a paw to her lip, she grabs the vial from his paw and runs back to the library, coming back with a vial containing a deep purple liquid in it. "This should help." She smiles, holding it out to him.

Jackal studied the vial in Kitane's hand. "Do I drink it or rub it on the afflicted area?" he asked, holding out the other vial to her. "And thanks."

"Drink it." She says, turning to Savel after taking the other vial. "And you drink this." She says, keeping a grip on it incase he tried to knock it from her paws.

Jackal gently drank the potion, immediately starting to feel better. "Thanks," he said, gently setting the empty vial on the desk, making sure it wouldn't leak, then approaching Savel and Avine.

"No problem." She smiles to Jackal. Still standing before Savel, she keeps her gaze on him and the vial still in her paw.

Savel looked down at the vial and then at her and jackal, then smiled slightly,"your not trying to kill me are you... Cause that wouldn't be in your best interest..." he stared at avine and held out his paw for the vial, waiting to see what would happen next.

"I'm not trying to kill you. I would never do that to a friend." She says, her tone and facial expression serious. Keeping the vial in her paw, she smiles a little. "I promise it won't kill you." Holding out the vial to him, she keeps a grip on it incase he tries to knock it away.

"Yeah," Jackal said. "We love you, man. We only wanna help."

He smiled," well give it to me, i can't take the vial if your paw is gripping it to the point of breaking it." He looked at jackal and then avine," what if i told you that I liked it this way? I mean the enhanced strength and speed.... maybe now I can help people better than before."

Jackal looked at him for a second. "Yeah, that would be a benefit for you..." He looked over at Avine. "Perhaps there's a way to release him from Alaspar's spell while allowing him to keep the added strength?"

"That's what this does. It removes the obedience. You honestly didn't think I passed that up in my search did you?" She smiles, handing him the vial. 'Now what to do with that psycho..' She wonders, her gaze drifting to the closet.

he smiled and when she handed it to him, he held it out infront of him and he then brought it up to eye level and then smiled," Are you sure this will work?"

"I'm 99.9% postive." She smiled, turning her attention back to him. "I followed the ingredients and the order to put them in, so yes." She explains, wiggling her cut up fingers.

Jackal nodded. "She fixed my arm too," he said, moving his left arm to demonstrate.

"Yeah..." He looked twords the closet and then he closed his eyes," I don't know..."
(going through some tough times... my posts will be very depressing.... just thought that I should let you know.....)

She raises an eyebrow and tilts her head. "I promise you'll be fine. If anything happens, then I'm right here with a cure." She smiles.

He looked at her and then the vial and smiled slightly, opening his hand and the vial falling to the floor," Sorry, but I like it this way. no one controls me... even if they try, they will fail... and she will fail."

Shaking her head, she looks at the broken pieces of the vial. "The only thing it would have done was remove the obedience part. But apparently you don't want our help." She hissed, walking out of the office. She walks to a room no one knows about, needing to be alone for a while. Allowing the wall to slide closed, she lays on the floor and closes her eyes and letting all thoughts fade.

He closed his eyes," I do... but I also want to do this by myself.... i-i don't know..."

Jackal sighed. "If it's any help, I could just put her on a plane and ship her somewhere she can't get back from." He began siphoning up the potion and putting it in the other vial, just in case it was needed.

Laying there for hours, Avine slips into meditative state, relaxed and not a single thought getting through.

Jackal walked into the room, glad to have finally found her. "Avine?" he said, tapping her on the shoulder. "You ok?"

Jolting awake, she looks at Jackal and sighs. "Yeah, I'm fine." She nods. Blinking several times, she gets up and hugs Jackal. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you guys better. I should have been fighting with him." She mumbles, closing her eyes.

Jackal smiles, patting her arm. "It's ok... you did all you could," he said, sitting down on the bed next to her. "At least you're still alive. We're all still alive. That means we have hope."

She smiles slightly and lets go of him. "As long as hope remains." She says.

Savel looked down when everyone walked out. He opened the closet door, and sat against the opposite wall waiting for her to wake up. He put his head in his paws and siged, closing his eyes.
