What would you choose? Imagine that things like time, money, location, etc, aren't an issue.
Blown glass! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcupSHLsucE#)
It's something for my future, maybe. It seems like the kind of thing that would require training, and it would definitely need a workshop of some kind and costs covered
But oh man, does that look fun and is some of the art beautiful.
-
I have a few:
Professional sewing (I mean, being able to make anything that you need a sewing machine for: stuffed animals, clothes, blankets, etc.).
Jewelry-making (already do some, but I would like for it to be a stay-at-home job for me).
Sculpting (it's pretty cool).
Woodworking (mainly making carvings and the like).
Blown glass (always thought it was amazing).
There's probably more but I can't think of them at the moment.
Edit: Learn to play the guitar and the piano.
-
Glass blowing is pretty awesome. I visited the largest glass producer in the land and they make anything from drinking glasses and bowls to 5 feet tall art vases and little figurines. I even got to make my own drinking glass. :D Becoming a glass blower takes 3 years of schooling here so I assume it's the same for you.
So maybe I'd take up glass blowing. Or perhaps the piano or violin.. or cello. Because they're all time consuming and hard to learn but worth it in the end. Something musical would have been great. Drums? I like drums too.
I'd love to have more training in drawing, painting, writing, gaming, knitting or photography, but those are hobbies I already have, though don't have the money and/or time to do them very often.
-
I'm pretty useless at any musical instruments but I would like to be able to play the Ukulele or the Bagpipes.
Chainsaw carving would be a cool skill to have as well. My furniture would be awesome!
Eagle Chainsaw Carving (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyDaxzeFaRk#ws)
When I think about it I wish I could draw as well.
-
Black magic. Awesome skill.
-
i wish i could draw and/or Magick

Professional sewing (I mean, being able to make anything that you need a sewing machine for: stuffed animals, clothes, blankets, etc.).
Just FYI I actually do most of my sewing by hand, without a machine. :) Hand and machine sewing both have their strengths and weaknesses, but for most things I much prefer doing it by hand.
I would like to learn to knit or crochet someday, which I probably will, but I dunno when, I have no free time! I also want to go back to weaving, but I'd have to get a loom and they are expensive and take up a ton of space.
Metalworking, glassworking, leatherworking, those all interest me too. Really I'm interested in most arts, crafts, and hand-making skills. But there are so many to learn and only so many hours in the day!
-
Learn how to play the drum set, and writing my own music. Oh, and playing the oboe.
And learing foreign languages. Preferably, Japanese, Latin, or German.
And blown glass! I clicked on the video Ottersmash posted, and that stuff looks amazing!
-
Yeah, I'm interested in learning most craft-type things. I have a "Learn to Knit" kit that I got for Christmas, so I'm stepping in the right direction for that one.
The main thing I like about using a sewing machine is that it's faster, but that won't help me until I get brave enough to learn how to use one. The one I have (which is an older one) seems really complicated.
Oh yeah! The skill of speaking Chinese so I can know what the heck Shinzuu's family is talking about when they're in a family setting with people who can only speak Chinese (like his grandparents).
-
I would love to learn how to play the piano. I'm not that good with instruments, the only thing i can play is a bit of guitar.
Another thing i would like is even better cooking skills since i allways injoy cooking.
-
There are sooooo many things i would love to learn how to do XP so a few..:
how to build/assemble firearms
how to hack computers and how to make programs
how to survival the wild for a couple days with little gear
how to disconnect my mind from my body to view things in a whole new perspective!
to become a better drawer :p
and to become more self-confident when im dating someone.. thats my most nerve wrecking flaw
thats it for now, i can't think of anymore at the second :3
-
Either metalworking or custom gun paintjobs
-
I would like to learn Welding and metalworking
:D
-
Playing guitar, learning several languages, and kickboxing.
-
Sweet what languages are you trying to learn?
-
I'd learn how to draw at a high grade.
I really wish I had a visually artistic talent.
-
Some more drawing skill is always welcome to me :3
Would be nice if I could exactly copy those pics that sometimes appear in my head.
And mastering that style I've been studying for three and a half year now.
Learn how to read notes and play my keyboard better.
Maybe create some videogame music remixes.
And I'd like to write and make plushies, too.
And, well, maybe a bit out of the box, but I'd love to work on a cartoon/anime about my 'sonas and characters. :3
EDIT: And learn how to make Flash animations and what not.
-
actually, anyone have a good way to start drawing? Any things that helped you start out, things I can look into?

Well, having motivation for start...
I once saw a totally awesome artist, I just HAD to reach his level of skill.
I just started with drawing characters, and the improvements came slowly.
You can always start randomly and figure out the beginning later, like I did...
Patience, practice and motivation are the way to go with me.
Of course, it is the way I do.
I'm not exactly the best artist in the world, though, to say the least X3
-
it would be drawing, oh I wish I could :P I wouldn't do it for money or glory, just my own enjoyment
-
Actually, I'd also like to gain a lot more self-confidence and social skills.
I'm too shy to even say "hi" :$
And to be able to live completely independant of other people.
-
I'm shy as well, but i tend to go out side my comfort zone alot.
-
i want really want to go shooting more.
-

Wood work ( like makeing stuff from wood) haven't done it in a wall
Drawing , havent uploaded anything in along time
-
actually, anyone have a good way to start drawing? Any things that helped you start out, things I can look into?
I find that the times when my drawing improves most are, simply, the times when I *draw* most. It's something you just gotta do over and over and over.
Although I do suggest looking at tutorials, especially from artists you like. And a decent art book is not a bad idea, there are a lot out there, even some focused specifically on fandom-type stuff. (I actually got a ton of useful things out of "Drawing Comics the Marvel Way" even though I don't do Marvel style, so any book can be good, even if it's not the style you're after.) Anything that talks about anatomy is good too, too many people concentrate on having awesome color or great fur texture or whatever but are putting on this polish on crappy anatomy, and their art is never as good looking as the art of somebody with a solid anatomical foundation. You need to know how big and how small things are and how they move and all that.
Also draw from lots of different sources. It's okay to reference (but not trace!) other people's art, but you also learn a lot from drawing things from life, or from photos. If there's any way for you to take a life drawing class, do it. That's pretty much the only art class I ever took where I actually LEARNED something useful, the rest were mostly rubbish.
Mostly though I think the thing to do (and which I do not do nearly enough of) is just practice, practice, practice, and try to improve something or other every time you sit down to draw.
-
I would probably learn to play an instrument. Somthing fun. :P
-
I would try to get better at drawing, so I could stop relying on GMod to make everything I do. :D

I want it to be like brushing my fangs. When I miss it I don't feel normal.

I heard somewhere that pixel-artist is a profession, i dunno but I think it would be quite awsome to be able to make proper sprites of pixel art in general
-
I would love to be able to draw anime. Cause my girlfriend can, and i'm so jealous! ^_^
-
If I could have the time and all, the first thing I'd like to be able to pick up is playing Drums... To acheive the complexity of my idols of progressive music such as Mike Mangini and Mike Portnoy... And play songs like this:
Mike Portnoy The Dark Eternal Night Drums only (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3TQgKRB-XE#)
Of course, this is only Mike Portnoy on the drums, here'S the entire music:
Dream Theater - The Dark Eternal Night (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sO3D_-xQFog#)
I'd also love to learn to draw... But I know I will suck my entire life no matter how I try <.< But I'd like to try at least.
And yeah, I'd like to sing better, although I'm following some basic training tips that a teacher gave me
And travel around the world :*
-

I'd also like to play the guitar and draw really good art (like, be amazing at both realistic art and cartoony art (as well as pixel art). :P

-

-
Two electrics, a J. Steele and one that lacks any markings whatsoever o.o Don't ask me what model of J. Steele, I found it in an attic xD Plays decently though. Was some "Eric Bergman's" 13th birthday present back in 88 apparently.
-
well good luck :D
remember there is always a shortage of bass guitar players if you give up on the electric guitar :P
-
Actually the guitar is serving as a stepping stone to either a violin or cell, depending on whichever I can afford at the time of progression xD
-
i warn you that they are more different that you may care to realise @.@
-
Oh I'm aware xD Completely different really. It's just I want to be able to play more than a harmonica before I switch over.
