Title: 'Dubliners' by James Joyce
Post by: CormacCoyotecraft on March 23, 2011, 03:36:09 AM
A collection of short stories revolving around the lives of people in Victorian-era Dublin, Ireland. A great piece of literature because it can be enjoyed in one of two ways: the surface portrayal of life from another time, and in the potential symbolism/satire of the stories. This latter part is especially...what's a good word...delicious, due to the fact Joyce was a bit of an iconoclast and was critical of the social mores of his time.  B)

Has anyone read any similar stories or books?

(That's okay, you probably haven't heard of it (adjusts large hipster glasses, dusts off skinny jeans)).
