A multitude of activities.

Floor activities (they vary depending on where you go), activities for fur suiters, I believe all or most have art dealers in designated areas... other things too numerous to mention... the only way to really find out is to go to one.  I'm going to the same one as Buddywolf, with him as well.  :3

So we'll see.  We'll bring back details for people, hehe.

is there an age limit for fur cons and anthro con, i heard that if you are under 18 then you have to have a parent, i am 14 and really want to visit a furcon so i need information thank yo

all ages can go. yes, if you are under 18 you do need a parent but there's usually a thing the parent can sign for people under 18 to go off on there own. I don't know bout anthrocon. I would assume the same thing sense I know some 10 year olds who went there this year.

really, that helps my chances thank you, and do you know how much it is for furcon, and is there a way to get a very cheap fursuit of a fox

there probably is a way for a cheep fursuit but it wouldn't be vary good.  The cost depends on the con but it is always cheeper to preregister.  also saves 12 hours of your life

lol ya i was looking for a custom suit, im short for my age

well...if you want a good one that would last, it could get costly.  A cheep one would look more like pajamas

well i would buy the head and buy some pajamas that wouldnt seem to small for the head and pay my grandma to put the fur on

A fursuit is something I am nolonger supported of cuz I mess up. The first one I had was beutiful but got ruined.  the second one was too small and I just messed it up trying to make it bigger.

So now I am on my own if I want another suit.

Everything is worth it when it comes to furries....well lots of things anyway

Please stay on topic guys

As for what goes on at a furry con. I go to Furfright every year, for 3 years now this year will be my 4th. It's like any convention, and yes if you are under 18 you need a parent or legal guardian there. It's for safety reasons, if something happens to you, the con wont be responsible. As for what goes on, many things. Lets see, there's normally an artist alley/Dealers room, events, always a rave, panels on all kinds of topics, Mascaraed, people dressed up, the normal public is there too. There's a fursuit parade, fursuit games, frank N fur (where 3 groups are locked in a room for 3 hours, with scraps and have to build a fursuit. Then you're judged during the mascaraed.) Headless lounge (fursuiters go to RUIIN THE MAGIC, cool off and get some nice cold water.)

That's to name a few things, it's a pretty good time.

Sweet! Thanks. But it stinks cause I'm only 14 and going with my parents would be like asking a classical composer to apreciate Rammstein. ( its a German heavy metal band) extremely difficult and awkward.

aura, thats the same here, and i do love rammstein, but i wouldnt be able to go to a furry con or something like that unless i had the money for the tickets suit passes

Welp then you guys just need to wait till your 18. Nothing wrong with that, gives you plenty of time to save up cause it's not cheap.

Hotel room usual con price $99 a night plus hotel tax (I stay for 3 nights so it's like $350 or so)
Badge this usual depends on the con but most if you pre register is $30
Food
Spending money

Also even if you don't have a suit it's good to get a convention badge drawn up of your character. Helps when your in suit as well, since there are certin rules you can follow if you wish.

jeese. bin a while since i've said anything. well i can get enough money(eventually). im making 20 bucks a week on allowance. but im doing a horrible job on saving up for a fursuit. i dont need one for furcon. but i would like to have one eventually. i will plan on going to a college near a furcon. i will still have to wait.  i nearly overspent on my debit card... -_-*. oh well. ill just have to wait and see what things are like then i guess. thanx for the comments   :3

The thing about FurFright(FF) is that they have these parental release form thingeys which I think allow a furr from 12-18 to go and rome the con without a parent/gardean which is pretty epic. I as the same as you will have one of my college criteria be the proximity to a con in general. Althow id love to stay nere FF(depinding on how 2011 gose) which keeps me nere me family as well

my parents don't know ima furry, so I can't go until I'm either leaving home or 18 :(

You need to do what I do for some people who I don't know and who may not understand (family knows I am furry)!!!

Tell them it is a convention about "wildlife preservation/conservation", that's NOT a lie, it's true!!! If it is like Midwest Furfest, then tell them it also raises money for animal charities too! They don't need to know the rest of the details, just take some photos of some "normal" artwork and "normal" looking people, plus a pic of the charities' booth if it is like furfest (they always have a booth for the charities).

Maybe you could also get them used to the idea of furry by slowly introducing "normal looking" furry art into the home. You, know a picture of a wolf howling, etc. Maybe after a while kind of hint that there is a group of people who like animals and are called furries and see what their reaction is. If it is good, or at least understanding, then maybe do something like tell them that you have met some of them and that they are really nice people, and what most people consider normal. If the reaction is good, then maybe at some point tell them. Sometimes it is better to warm them up to the idea slowly.
Just my thoughts.

Well yeah, I draw anthros all the time. But they don't havE a clue as to what furries are though. So I guess that doesn't really count. I guess I'll just wait til I'm 18 or something and figure things out then.

Does it have to be a parent, or could you just go with a friend whose over 18?  Doesn't matter
to me, I'm 19, but wondering to help others??

Also, where are all these conventions held and how do I find out if there's one near me?! I live in Essex and am desperate to go to one...

I don't have a complete suit.. But my ears, tail and collar look wkd with the right outfit, good idea if you have a lack of money guys!! :)

wikifur is a good place to start cus they have a calendar of them and where they are located. Also i think it has to be ones legal parent/gardanthat two take or give them permission to go.

well Wiki Furr can only tell you so much
what i did was type in the google "furry conventions and 'STATE'" enter your state that you live in and you should get one

Indiana just got one last  year XD its cool cause now i don't have to worry about traveling 2 states over now!

anyway, when you find the ones closest to you, they will tell you EVERYTHING that will happen there and prices on hotels and entry.  :)
