"The stars... It's like a sea of dreams and possibilities. Each glimmer holds a myriad of hopes and ideas. Some though can hold the darkest dreams. Ones that could shatter the hopes of all others. My story... My path... Is how my idea could have destroyed the glimmering stars around me. This nightmare..."
Moddex J. Everest - Chief Director of Weapons R&D

Xen Terra... A thriving world of technology and intelligence. A haven for all who seek it. And home to a godlike weapon... It has been roughly over 200 years since the destruction of the technological superpower, Zeilodia and it's people. War however still rages on.

A race known as the Animas are now under threat to a waring nation known as Ivok. They defend the last survivors of the Zeilodian society while searching for a key to ending this bloodthirsty nation's power and forever ending the threat that the Andros possess. Their key to stopping the war is all within the power of a single device known as the Zenith.

It's power is fabled to be godly in might. The old stories circulate of the amazing force this device was capable of. A more powerful force however, awaits these two factions. One tha neither of which will be able to comprehend.

"The story that I am going to tell you is when the true plot began to unflod for all of us. For when we learned of the truth behind what we were trying to use. My story begins here..."

Moddex was resting at a bench under the sun just outside of Serenity Hospital, his mind fleeting through thoughts of his recent ordeal. It's the oldest memory he can seem to recollect. He tried shaking off the thought. The frightening crash he had dealt with just nights before plagued him like a repeating nightmare.

"Damn! They're right behind me!", thought Moddex as he pushed dow as hard as he could on the accelerator. Small laser and bullet fire cam from behind him as three Ivokian enforcers persued him.

Moddex drew two MP 80 hand guns and they began lifting in the air as if suspended by lines. Moddex forced them outside the windows of his hovercraft and began firing back, hands free.

Moments later after taking several turnoffs on the highway he was on, three more enforcers pulled out before him just ahead. They began to set up a quick barricade and fired from behind it, aiming at Moddex's hover panel beneath his vehicle. A small, but noticeable crack formed, nearly causing him to spin out, but Moddex managed to stabilize it psychokinetically. Bullets and lasers hailed against his vehicle, leaving scorches and dents about the frame.

" I can't keep focusing much longer... Need to get off this highway.", he thought. Trying all at once to focus on driving, keeping his vehicle stable, and firing two guns in mid air all with his mind.

Then, there was a portion of the highway still under construction just before the barricade. Moddex slammed his vehicle through the unfinished wall and was suddenly in a forest. His hovercraft taking major blows as he grazed the trees near him, finally, after loosing all control, the vehicle was in free momentum, passing through a clearing and into a lake. Moddex was sent through the windshield, hurtling through the air just ahead of the hovercraft as it slammed into the lake with a great boom. After hearing the explosion, the enforcers stood back, laughing mirthfully. "That maniac couldn't have lived after that..! Just look at the mess!", remarked one of the gunman who defended the highway. The guards decided they'll rely on the highway mantainence to find Moddex's body. However, after hours of floating in the water till nightfall, the crew could not find him.

He dragged himself from the lake and trudged back into the forest again till collapsing just outside the city, Serenity.

"That horrible incident...", he thought. "I can't believe I survived that still..."

Moddex stood up, taking a deep breath. "Finally, I'm out of that hospital. But what to do with myself now..? I can't remember what it was I was suppose to be doing..." His head throbbed still. His arm was surprisingly not broken after the accident, or maybe it was just repaired. It was still numb and swollen.

Name: Moddex James Everest

Age: Unknown

Gender: Male

Race: Animas (Red Fox)

Info: Moddex works for a secret underground movement to stop Ivok's move on the rest of Xen Terra. He's rather powerful with his training, but is admant about fighting. He preffers talking his way through situations.

A recent incident on his escape from Zeilodia however had him involved in a hover craft accident. He had lost his memory in the incident and can only remember vague memories and basic knowledge. Since his loss of memory, his organization has been seeking to recover him. His personality has also taaken a different approach. He's no longer as bitter or gray in his attitude.

Deep within him, he also has great mental powers as well. Ones that are latent to emotion and can activate without being in a state of gnosis. This can be dangerous however as sometimes, simple emotional synapses can set off one of his latent powers. At times of severe stress, he may even be capable of initializing his old memories.

Appearance:  Image  (http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c170/Akira1-07/Archive/Moddex2K6.png)

Personality: Cold, tired, but passionate of his job. He can be compulsive in bad situations and will take to drastic measures under pressure.

Post by: SchizmWolf on March 06, 2007, 05:21:56 PM

Name:Schizm Wolf

Age:17

Gender:Male

Race:Animas (wolf)

Info: Born in a harshly segregated area of Xen Terra, Schizm was raised in a group of insurgents known as the "SwiftClaws".  At the age of 11, both of his parents and his brother were killed by counter-revolutionaries.  Since then, Schizm has dedicated his life to avenging his family, operating alone.  Until now.  Schizm believes that by becoming part of an elite task force, he could find his vengeance.  Unfortunately, his ability to control himself in battle is all luck of the draw.

Appearance: A svelt gray wolf with a scar across his chest from a near-miss encounter with a laser.  Deep brown eyes set in a grim but ocassionally content face.  Claws sharpened into points for hand-to-hand combat.  Experienced with a Ivokian KF-4 laser sniper rifle.

Personality:  Reclusive until you get to know him, Schizm can seem to have hair-trigger anger issues.  Enjoys building new weapons from salvaged scrap and drinking, as well as keeping an eye on any news.

Active Powers

Walking down the back alley of Chase Arms, Schizm sighed.  The memories of his childhood plagued him today, the way his parents never came home, and of how his brother, Marn, had gone down with them.  He shoved aside the feelings of grief and loss that those memories invoked.  He had to be cold, hard, and ready.

Fingering the newly acquired AP-12 automatic handgun in his pocket, Schizm turned down the sidewalk, wandering.  If only he had been able to find the place.  How could he ever be a part of the resistance if he couldn't even find the meeting ground.  He huffed, and sped up.  Maybe he could find it another time.  Until then, it was off to the shooting range with his new toy.

Crossing the street adjacent to the Serenity Hospital, Schizm heard a shout.  Followed by a rapid report of gunfire, the shouting grew, as if more were joining the fray.  Turning , he saw the cause of the disturbance.  A group of animas were gathered around the fallen body of another, a panther-type cat who was clutching his chest just above the heart.  Still possibly fatal.

Wondering what had happened, Schizm vaulted toward the scene of the accident, only to see half a dozen andros Enforcers smiling grimly down at the victim hidden behind the tumult.  What caught his eye was the handgun held in the hand of the senior officer aomng them.

"Serves you right, you filthy cat!  You won't be begging off me for a loooong time."  He spit on the dying cat laying on the ground.

Blood pounding in his ears, which laid flat against his head, Schizm felt the anger inside him build to a gutteral growl, then reached into his coat pocket, where the AP-12 hid.  It wouldn't be hidden for much longer.

He stalked toward the Enforcers, wary of their numbers, but not caring.  This was for his family.  He drew the gun out, barely keeping it concealed until the final moment.  For his family.

In the time of being at the hospital, Moddex was given new clothes. His previous attire was shredded and destroyed. He now wore a black street jacket, jeans, and a simple white shirt.

Images of small, vague memories seemed to blip in the back of Moddex's mind as he stood up. He could hear the sharp clicks of gun fire and loud talking coming from the nearby street ways. He swiftly darted over to the source of the noise. He stopped to see a crowd of Animas and a few guards sneering at another animas who was motionless on the ground.

"You can't do that! That's my friend you asshole!", raged a scruffy rat Animas, clenching his fist. "What's the matter with you people!?", another called as the rest began to murmur in angry tones with eachother. A pulse of images burst into Moddex's mind at an instant. Images of battles bewteen Animas and Andros. Himself in some of these fights. His head throbbed again painfully. A strange feeling of anger was suddenly coming over him as he looked up to the scene again from the corner of the street where he stood. He clenched his fist, shaking it with tense anger. "Why am I... Angry? This isn't right...", he whispered to himself questioningly.

"C'mon! You wont be able to stand against all of us!", yelled another of the Animas in the group. They all stopped as they were approaching the guards. Four of the guards drew Aezoen 54 ion rifles that were holstered on their backs. "Smart asses. You think We're gonna let you just get in our faces? Time for you all to learn your place!", harped one of the Andros guards as they took aim.

Schizm watched out of the corner of his eye the fox Animas running toward the crowd, but it was growing harder and harder to concentrate on anything but the Enforcers, who were now unholstering their ion rifles.  That was what had given him the scar across his chest, the one that he had to hide under a coat every time he went out.

His vision tunneling, Schizm felt that the Enforcers were not concentrating on him, as he had thought when he realized he had drawn and leveled the handgun at the lead man.  This wasn't going to be too hard...

"Watch out, he's got a gun!"  The rat animas was pointing at him, but he was only vaguely aware of the threat.  Seemingly in a daze, he pumped the trigger one, two, three, four times.  The Enforcer who had wounded the animas on the ground looked over just in time for his eyes to widen before the bullets caught him three times in the chest, in a triangle, and one solid hit between the eyes.  Perfect geometry.

The Enforcer went down like a bag of grain, and Schizm's eyes began to clear.  With that clearing came the realization that he was outnumbered, outgunned, and with noone in the line of fire between him and the deadly Aezoen rifles.  He had finally messed up, and he was too young to die.

The Enforcer smiled, and his hand tensed, pulling the trigger in a slow pump.  "You just crossed the line, mutt," he murmured.  Schizm closed his eyes for the final release, but, a split second before the frying sound of the laser discharge cut the air where his head had been, something knocked the legs out from under him, tackling him onto the ground.  He gasped for air, but clutched the SA-12 firmly.  For his life, he couldn't let go.

Name: Jericho Kadash Mesuihan

Age: Undetermined. Age has never been revealed.

Gender: Male

Race: Animas (grey wolf)

Info: (Explain a brief background history.): Jericho was once a part of an secret society of warriors, trained in swordsmanship and the use of plasma manipulation. He was only a student when his family, his fellow students, and his instructors were brutally slain by the Ivok. He has since trained himself in his ancient arts, having made off with books and equipment, whatever he could carry in the backpack of his late best friend. He was taught not to hold a grudge, not to seek revenge, but to slay those who are tainted with sin or have a reputation smeared with the blood of the innocent.

Appearance: (Use an Image URL or describe to the best of your ability.): Wolf yellow eyes, equipment looks like this picture by, and all credit goes to, Strype. Except, edit the picture in your mind, make the brown glove into a fingerless, black guantlet that covers from where the arm meets the elbow down to just barely covering the knuckles. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/31795500/?qo=7&q=by%3Astrype&qh=sort%3Atime+-in%3Ascraps

Personality: Jericho is more of the quiet type. Although a ferocious blade-and-plasma wielder, he tends to get embarrassed easily, but no one has been able to make him blush. Friends are always welcomed, aswell as allies. He's been alone for most his life.

Active Powers

Perched upon the corner of a building not far from the group of beings and the Ivok was the crouched form of Jericho. He had his goggles upon his forhead, the sun wasn't intense enough to have to use them. The fingers of his armored left paw drum upon the hilt of his katana. He had selected his perch due to the sound of gunfire not but a few minutes ago. He could sense all the hostility, but what disturbed him was the hint of mirth coming from the gunman.

He stands, giving a bounce and landing upon the ground below, crouched slightly to resist the shock of the land. He begins walking at a steady pace toward the group, both paws akimbo at his sides, the containers of plasma glowing, a sure sign they were ready to be released. As he neared, the scent of the Ivok reaches his nostrils. Why hadn't he caught it before? His eyebrows narrowed as his pace quickens, coming within shouting range of the group. Continuing his pace, he clenches and unclenches his left paw, barely able to contain the pure, dire hatred of the Ivok. The murderous, merciless plague of a race they were.

Closing in, he looks from the being wounded on the ground, around to the people of the group, before his eyes finally come upon the aimed weapons. His left paw comes down to the top of the katana sheath, his thumb flicking the blade out of the catch of the sheath, just an inch of the silver blade revealed as his other paw poses to reach around and grab the katana. The moment came, and Jericho dodged to the side as a shot was fired, flying just past him. He dashes in, the katana whipping from the sheath. A wet slicing could be heard as Jericho bolts past the second Ivok to have fired just after the beings had gotten down. A couple seconds, and the murderer's head started to leak blood from a perfectly horizontal cut clean around it's head, it's eyes separated into two halves before the body crumples to the ground, and the top half of it's head slides off onto the ground.

Post by: Moddex on March 07, 2007, 12:23:00 AM
Moddex watched the scene unfold before him, his mouth gaping in shock. The other two guards drew their weapons. Kolboleir NT77s'. Double barreterd hand guns that looked massive for hand revolver size. Three other enforcers pulled over from their metabikes, drawing AP-12s'. "Freeze! All of you! You are all under arrest!", called one of the new arrival guards. The other Animas were backing up again, about to flee the scene.

His heart was hammering and mouth dry. Moddex's face was straight and void of expression, as if ignoring all that was happening. He walked towards the conflict, now out in the open. "You there!, put the sword down! Klezik, take care of the other one on the ground!", ordered who was supposedly the sergeant. Moddex walked up behind the sergeant and grabbed his arm firmly, twisting it in a disturbing position as it gave a few crunches and a final snap. The sergeant let out a howl of pain and screamed, dropping his weapon. Three guards then poised their aim at Moddex. "Freeze, flea bag!", shouted one of the officers.

Moddex continued keeping the sergeant pinned by his arm which was kept to his back. "Fire and your sergeant will be the one shot. I suggest you lower your weapons...", said Moddex with a cool tone. "What!? Like I give a damn!", called the officer. Moddex slapped his hand over the mouth of the sergeant, ready to snap his neck. The officers continued aiming while the others approached Jericho and Schizm, ready to apprehend them.

Moddex sharply spun the sergeant's neck, snapping it like a twig. The three aiming for Moddex released a barrage of ion bolts and bullets. The metabike and the sergeant's body took the shots while Moddex somehow lifted the gun hands free and cartwheeled to the sidewalk to the right, grabbing the gun as it floated into his grip. He shot behind a tree for cover.

Jericho stalls for only a second, letting the rest of the group come to try and apprehend Schizm and himself. Once one was within range, he lunges at it, reaching his left paw out and catching the being by the face. He charges up his plasma and sends a wave of plasma energy into his victim's body. The charge would have been a plasma ball, but it was immediatly released onto the being, the wave sending a searing pain stabbing into every nerve of the Ivok's body. As the Ivok falls to the ground, he gives a flip and sets himself back upright, charging another plasma ball and hurling it at another foe. The ball bursts upon the Ivok turning to face him, leaving a well-sized burn upon it's face.

He waves his katana threateningly, but gracefully at the remaining Ivok to keep their attention, giving time to Schizm should he want to take a shot at one. He wouldn't be able to spare much time, for the deadly blade could only hold them at bay for a little while before they realized he was stalling intentionally, not posed to strike. He hadn't uttered so much as a pant. These Ivok were barely a challenge, so long as he had his plasma-casting arm and katana. He makes a dodge-roll to the right as one of the beings fires at him, ducking his head to dodge another shot. He glances at Schizm a moment to see if he had actually caught the hint.

Schizm laid on his back, watching events unfold in chaos.  With plasma bambs bursting and another gun firing in sync with his own heart, he tried to make sense of things.  If he could just clear his head...

Another sizzling beam of light cut past Jericho, who nimbly leaped out of the way.  He was out of plasma, and that strange katana of his seemed a blur deflecting the beams as they hammered on from the last standing enforcer, grim with determination and malice.  Jericho couldn't spare any more time.

Laying flat on the ground, Schizm brought his arm in a swift arc, the crosshairs aligned perfectly with the Enforcer's ankle.  The gun rang out and the rifle-weilding maniac fell to one knee.  Pulling the trigger one more time, Schizm aimed at his head.  *Click*  Empty.

Casting the useless sidearm away, Schizm calmed.  Rage.  Rage was building inside him, his vision going red, hardly heeding the rifle being aimed at him with the last of the Enforcer's strength and will.  Detecting the coming pull of the trigger, he stepped smoothly aside and launched himself forward and over the man, reaching down and grabbing him by the scalp on the way.  Dragging the kicking Enforcer by the head toward the nearest wall, Schizm threw his arm forward with all his strenght.

The Enforcer smashed against the brick wall hard enough to leave a body-shaped mark in the wall, keen hearing picking up the crackling snaps of all the bones in the dead man's body.  It felt too good.  Much too good.

Bringing himself under control, Schizm looked around at his accomplices.  Moddex peered out from behind the tree, cautiously not showing any emotion.  Turning toward Jericho, who hardly broke a sweat through the entire fire-fight, he opened his mouth to say thank you.  Before he could force the words out, his legs collapsed under him, fatigue from his blind rage taking it's toll.  He sat and gasped for air, as if he'd been knocked onto his back again.  He still managed a slight smile.

As the battle ensued, Moddex shook his head in a numb state of confusion. He then cleared his mind and turned from behind the tree, firing towards one of the metabikes parked behind the scene, but close enough to cause collateral damage. Something strange occured however. The bullet Moddex fired came out, lathed in lightning and sparks, forming a huge burst wave. The bike immediately exploded upon impact, knowcking over the remaining officers. Seizing the opportunity, he quickly shot them in the head. One in the temple, one in the ear, and the other in the jaw.

A small fire was smoldering from the remians of the metabike. Moddex stepped back out on the intersection where the aftermath awaited. He disassembled the gun and dropped the parts down beside him. He dropped down on his knees, one hand clutching his head. He didn't pay any attention to everything around him as the Animas that watched the battle came out, cheering on the three.

((@ Jericho: I think you may be confused as to what an Ivokian is. They aren't exactly some strange race. They are an Andros nationality who hold a strong racial hatred towards Animas. Just letting you know.))

Rhakshi looked up from where he was sitting at the two guardsmen that were in the room with him. Brought there not by force, but his own will. He didn't know why he had came to this place, it would be against his kind. But he hadn't cared about the sides of the ongoing wars since he had been at his homeland. Rhakshi shook those memories away and questioned the two guards.

Ãƒâ€š  Ãƒâ€š  Ãƒâ€š  Ãƒâ€š  Ãƒâ€š  "So why have you brought me here? I didn't come all this way to be stared at in a dark room...."
"hehe, don't worry will get to that in a bit, first we wanna explain some matters"
"Look just cut to the chase, I haven't the time to sit around here."
"Heh fine, we need your services to hunt down to targets"
Rhakshi's ears perked up.
"Yeah I realise that, that's why you called me here. Now please tell me, what's the target?"
The guards noticing how impatient there guest was continued.
"Well actually targets..."
"As in multiple?"
"Yes, though we'd have to tell you that they are-"
"Look, if you think that I care if there animas or whatever, your talking to the wrong fur."
"That's just what we wanted to here... Heres a picture of the three targets youll be after,"
The guards turned on a hologram projecter showing a picture of three creatures.
"Theyre not too much of a threat, but we want them out of the way"
"Interesting. Tell me, what are the names of these three?"
Rhakshi threw a grin across his face.
"Moddex, Shizm, and Jericho, Â dead or alive..."

(( @ Moddex: Yea, I know ^^; I just don't really know what else to call them besides Ivok, and 'those beings' or something like that. Just trying to add a little variety to my posts. ))

Jericho passes his katana from his right to his left paw, using his right to wipe the blade from the base to the tip, cleaning it of blood in a single swipe. He flicks the blood from his right paw as his left sheathes the weapon. He looks around, seeing no more Ivok in the immediate area, but he was closest to Schizm at the moment. Stepping up to the fatigued form, he offers a paw to help Schizm stand. He thought it best he get everyone that had helped fight grouped back together. The faded plasma containers begin to fill with color once more, slowly but surely. Looking over his shoulder a second, he checks to see if Moddex had stuck around.

He had, but he looked.. uncomfortable however. If Schizm couldn't walk on his own, then Jericho would help him, but they would need to get to Moddex.

"Tha...thanks," Schizm panted, drawing up with the help of Jericho.  "I'm sorry if I've caused...any trouble."  Jericho barked laughter, brief but mirthful.  Staggering onto his own feet he thought about what had just happened.  As the memories of moments ago tumbled out, his eyes grew wide in panic.  Calm.  He needed to stay calm, or they were all dead.

"Get the fox... I know a place.  Hurry!"  Gathering the last of his strenght, Schizm didn't wait for a reply before signaling to Moddex that they had to leave.  Fast.  If they weren't out of here by the time the next set of Enforcers, who were probably more heavily armed and in greater numbers still, then they wouldn't last long.

Turning and dashing back the way he came before the chaotic battle, he briefly turned his head to see Jericho and Moddex.  Moddex wasn't looking so good, apprehensive even.  Schizm could understand, if the fox had any background like his.

At the closest alleyway he took a quick left, then right, right again.  He knew the backstreets better than almost anyone.  Chase Arms.  He had to get back to the shop.  Looking left and right to make sure noone but the two trailing him followed, he suddenly jumped up onto the fire escape up above.  Climbing hastily, trying to not notice the incessant  ache in his body and limbs, Schizm scurried to the top of the building.  "Hurry!  This way!"

As the others mounted the top of the building, Schizm gestured to a section of roof.  They all gathered around, kneeling.  With three quick, hard knocks, the signal for an emergency, a panel of roof peeled away to reveal the interior of the gun store, Chase Arms.

They all dropped down into it silently.

Moddex stood there for a moment in the dark room, only starring blankly foward. He then let out a sharp scream, slamming his fist into a wall and sliding onto his knees. A small stream of blood shot from his nose as he slumped down. For a moment, he sat perfectly still. Not moving much. He looked up slowly, letting out a choked sound of pain.

He shook his head again, looking around. for some reason, his vision was unclear, blurred. He could taste blood in his mouth. He coughed a bit, sputtering up a bit of blood. "My head... What's this place? Some kind of hideout?", said Moddex as he staggered to a wall to lean on, clutching his head again. "Who are you two?", he asked finally.

Shocked by the sudden outburst, Schizm took a step back.  Moddex was sputtering blood, making him difficult to understand, but he caught most of it.  "Calm down," Schizm said coldly. "I've brought you to my...shop.  It's where I go when there's trouble.  My name is Schizm Wolf.  I don't know about the other guy."  He gestured toward Jericho.

"Jericho," came the curt reply from stone-carved wolf.

"That doesn't answer my question.  Where the hell am I?"  Moddex coughed again.  Blood was running down the front of his shirt.

"That can wait.  We need to get you some medical attention.  What happened to you?"  The fox started to speak, but as soon as he opened his mouth he wheezed more blood.  It was serious.

"Jericho, help me get him into the next room.  I'll call a friend of mine who can help.  Make sure he stays conscious."  Jericho nodded quickly and moved to Moddex, who weakly tried to refuse the help.  The wolf dragged him over to the door.

"Not that way," Schizm yelped.  "Do you want to get us killed?"  He pulled a pipe sticking out from the wall, and shoved.  The wall slide in and right, showing them a view of a sterile room with a table and a washbasin.  After seeing Jericho's questioning look, Schizm added, "I get hurt, sometimes.

Putting the fox onto the table and removing the jacket, Schizm checked his heart, which beat quickly but weakly in his chest.  "Keep an eye on him.  I need to make a phone call."

Name: Istauri

Age:16

Gender:Male

Race:Animas (Tiger)

Info: Istauri was enslaved at a very early age and was to be used to infiltrate the Animas resistance. He was trained to use concussion gauntlets and low level psionics, whilst in captivity he was fitted with a collar containing a neural disrupter to prevent the use of psionics against Andros. He escaped during an Animas raid on the facility, this combined with his very limited knowledge of Xen Terra has resulting in a rather 'skewed' impression of the Andros and Animas. He has been seeking to join the Animas and the resistance ever since.

Appearance: Thin, Yellow eyed Tiger. Armoured black gauntlets, Black Collar

Personality: Shy, quiet and stealthy until you get to know him

Active Powers

Istauri watched the commotion from a shadowy alcove over looking the street way.

"so these are the Animas!" he thought to himself

"Finally! some of my own kind"

Then an immense explosion devoured the metabikes and the three fled the scene. Immediately Istauri leapt down from his hiding place and raced after them.
He managed to track them through a series of alleyways until he rounded a corner to find they'd vanished.
Finding nothing but a gun shop and a fire escape Istauri surveyed his surroundings. Suddenly the sounds of several approaching Andros reached him.
The fire escape became the focus of his attention, he scaled it.

Moddex sat up on the table, wiping his mouth from the blood that had slowed down from flow. He seemed to be stabilizing. "I feel like my brain's on fire..." Moddex looked back towards Jericho who was scrutinizing him carefully. He stood up, blinking a few times to adjust to the light in the room. He then looked as if he was focusing carefully, but calmly. A small ring of blue light emerged infront of Moddex's forehead and small lines of blue light were graphing themselves across Moddex just a few centimeters off his fur. Like an instant, the light disappeared from him and he opened his eyes. "Good thing my memories are coming back. I just remembered runology", he said.

Just then, he could hear the noise of someone outside the building. "We've got company. Schizm, someone's outside!", he called over.

"There wounded this will be alot easier then expected."
Carefully he pursued there cent which led him to a town (I think, your kind of vague but I suppose with the alley way..)

Jericho kept a swift glance everywhere to make sure nothing was right on top of them, his left paw clutching the hilt of his katana, even up the fire escape. While in the room, he watches both Schism and Moddex. He knew something else was after them, he could feel it. Call it a false sixth-sense, but he knew. He closes his eyes "We're being followed" He says, gripping the hilt of his katana tighter. This was no place to fight, but if they were caught in here like this, something would have to be done.  About that time, a rustling could be heard in his shoulderpad as a little paw sneaks out from under it, then a squirrel-like head covered in a platinum blue fur. Jericho quirks his lips one way, poking the nose of the creature and making him hide back within the shoulderpad. "I'm going to take a look. If I don't get back, don't worry about me."

With that, Jericho was up and heading back to the fire escape. He knew it, he could hear something.. some -things- running for their hiding place. He looks down to see Istauri climbing up to where they were. He jumps and drops past him, landing and facing Istauri's persuers, flicking the blade out of it's catch once more.

Jericho did, in fact, make short work of the Andros. Stabbing and slicing his way through the group, he emerges out the back as the Andros in front start to fall, almost like a reverse domino effect as the rest fall down in the order Jericho went through them. He stands straight up again, cleaning his blade much the same way he did before. Sheathing it, he turns to Istauri, raising an eyebrow. He barely has time to hold this position before a bullet zips past him, nearly hitting him.

Looking up, Jericho eyes the shooter, Rhakshi. He narrows his eyebrows once more and brings his left paw back, readying a plasma ball. He whips his arm around, sending the ball of plasma energy sailing toward Rhakshi.

(got it, no more using other people's characters. Sorry Jericho, you seem most able to use him in context, so I'll especially leave him alone.  SRRY.  Carry on)

Schizm had no time to react.  He never thought anyone could ever get in here.  I just wan't possible.  But now the impossible was happening. He noticed the Andros and the assassin that was in the front, and then suddenly a blur was heading out the door, and Andros falling in it's wake.  Would it ever stop?

Dropping onto one knee, Schizm ducked as low as possible, shortly before several gunshots rand out, each passing right where his torso would have been.  And he had left his pistol back at the scene of the original fight.  He thought frantically of what he could do and remembered the tranquilizer gun he kept in the locker next to the sheet of metal that served as a bed and table, now with droplets of blood on it.

Rolling to the side, he ripped open the door and reached in, pulling out a small gun with a very potent tranquilizer.  Not his first choice for a weapon to batlle to the death with, but it was better than hand-to-hand with armed Enforcers.  Spinning around on his heel, he took aim at the first in a long, narrow hallway seething with bodies, both dead and alive.

Letting the first tranquilizer loose caught an Andros in the neck, dropping him as effectively as if he had been shot with a laser sniper rifle.  As he took aim at the next, Schizm felt a bullet skim past his left ear.  The calm was gone and the rage was back.

Rhakshi watched as some of the Andros fell to the ground in the front area.  He knew a frontal attack may not have been the best idea, so he decided to take the easier way. Pressing the button on one of the lock grenades he was holding, he released it into the air to pursue it's target, as well as three others. Watching from a distance he would find out what happened.

Jericho skids upon the ground with his left arm guarding his face as the grenade goes off. When he turns back to look at Rhakshi, he moves his goggles over his eyes and places his left paw on the sheath of his katana, and the right on the hilt. Rhakshi might have more of those grenades. Jericho charges for him, but doesn't draw his blade. He, instead lunges sideways for a wall, his feet coming up sideways and hitting off the wall to make him lunge again, catching a windowsil and quickly jumping down to the alleyway below, putting himself behind Rhakshi. He takes ahold of his katana once more, ready to strike should Rhakshi assault again.

Schizm's vision had narrowed down to a point, focused on Rhakshi, hardly noticintg Jericho's acrobatic advance.  Somewhere in the back of his mind, Schizm noted that the grenades had knocked him off his feet, but he was back up again before he knew it.  It was so hard to keep control, and he had barely recovered from their earlier flight, legs still wobbly but full of strength at the same time.  It was an odd feeling.

One of the few remaining Andros stepped into his path with a pistol in his hand, arm shaking unevenly.  He probably hadn't known this assault would go so poorly, what with their superior numbers, and it was no wonder he was shaken.  Schizm didn't care.  Walking silently by, not even attempting to apprehend the Andros, he blinked as he realized two shots had just been discharged into his back.

Schizm spun and swung his arm out, catching the Enforcer hard across the jaw.  Hard enough to spin his head around, making his head stop about three-quarters of the way around his shoulders, and dropping him quietly to the floor.  Picking up the pistol, an AP-4 Model C, Schizm turned back around and began to step forward again, completely ognoring the pain in his back, but not the pain that was inside him.  What hat happened to the shopkeeper, Jani?  He wouldn't have let these people in willingly, and the fact that he was also an Animas didn't improve his chances of surviving.

He also noticed the assassin who had thrown the grenade into the mess.  An Animas.  A traitor to all of them, and to him, to his parents memory.  His vision locked onto Rhakshi, vision going red for the second time in less than two hours.  He knew that this would have an ill effect on him, but it didn't matter.

Schizm advanced on Rhakshi, and he was out for blood.

Istauri picked himself up just in time to see the wolves advancing on Rhakshi. Alarmed he leapt forward and formed a concussion bubble around himself and the cat.

Rhakshi watched as the two animas had been able to flank him. More annoyed then anything he used the two servo arms to wield his pistol while he held the disc glaive and two more lock grenades in his hand.  It wouldn't be easy, but he could manage it. Though even more to his surprise another animas had come and protected him in a sense of a way.
("What is this idiot doing?") Rhakshi thought to himself.
He wondered what could possibly be going through the creatures mind at this point. The animas's words had an impact on Rhakshi, but he still had a task at hand. He had no use of the passive animas, it had no bounty, but it was in the way. Not having need of hurting him he decided to knock out the animas, shorting out the protective field. He turned around threw one of the grenades at the wall creating an escape hole. The other he threw at the angered animas charging him.

Schizm leaped. Â Flying toward Rhakshi, all he could think about was getting toward the traitorous Animas. Â He would get rid of him, and then he would go to the nearest Enforcer station and kill them, until they were either all gone or he was dead. Â Schizm really didn't care which came first anymore.

Just as Schizm closed in on Rhakshi, another Animas flew into the scene right next to him. Suddenly Schizm hit what felt like a brick wall only with less give. Â Bouncing back and recovering his footing, he attacked the barrier while his mind screamed to stop, that he was in danger.

Almost as suddenly as he had started in on the odd shield, Schizm stopped. Â If he couldn't get through, he could at least take the opportunity to get away from the madness. Â Calming himself, yet keeping the last vestiges of his frustrated strenght, he vaulted over the two Animas and ran around the corner. Â

If he could just get to a safe place before collapsing, then he could figure out what to do next. Â Jericho and Moddex had to wait for now.

Moddex let out a howl of pain as electricity surged through his very endings. He flailed to shake the stun gun's effect, contorting in pain. He couldn't help but grip as hard as possible as the tendons in his hands caused him to grip down on the triggers of the two SMGs', littering the alley with bullet holes and spent shells. He did all he could and tried to aim up at Rhakshi, clipping him in several points in the leg when the clips of the guns ran out.

Gunshots and yells stuttered from behind Schizm.  Mentally sighing, as he didn't have enough breath to do it for real, he turned around, preparing to run if anything should happen.  His legs were so wobbly he could hardly stand up, and steeling against that fatigue would only make it worse later.

Moddex was twitching and yelling in front of the assassin, bullets only barely touching Rhakshi as Moddex seized in his grip.  Schizm wouldn't let another Animas die today even if it killed him.

Running toward Rhakshi, only barely managing to keep his feet, Schizm turned his shoulder down and tackled Rhakshi hard to the ground.  He heard several grunts as the bodies hit the ground.  He wasn't unsure that his was one of them.  With the loss of his breath came a loss of consciousness.  Blackness enveloped Schizm, and he heard no more.

(Sorry for the lack of response)

Jericho's paws leave his sword as he dashes in, scooping Schism and Moddex up first by the shoulders, then hooking his paws under their armpits, dragging him away from Rhakshi. Long enough away so they shouldn't be caught in the crossfire. He then stands fully up, turning around to face the bounty hunter. His left paw flicks his deadly blade from it's catch and he grabs the hilt with his right, leaning down and starting a dead-on run towards Rhakshi. As he gets within feet of him, the blade whips from it's sheath at lightning speed, a loud metallic sound ringing down the alley. The blade had aimed for Rhakshi's midsection, But was the bounty hunter fast enough to block it or dodge it?

Rhakshi watched as Jericho charged at him with his sword drawn. More annoyed then anything he waited until the blade was within inches of his stomach and met his blade with his carbon glaive.Staring at him evily, Rhakshi took out the servo arms wielding two pistols and the glaive disc in one hand. Perhaps his ability to use a vast array of weapons all at once was why he had become so tough. Blocking a couple of more blows from Jericho he took a couple of shots at him with the pistols causing multiple injuries on Jericho. In one of his midswings he spun and threw the glaive disc deep into Jerichos shoulder causing him to fall to the ground. (sorry I wanna get this moving on) Using the little time he had until Jericho would get up, he grabbed his primary target (Moddex) and ran past the alleyway towards his vehicle loading the stunned Moddex into it. He'd have to get the other two targets later.

Slowly the world slid back into Schizm's view, the confusing scene washing over him.  A car was speeding off with the assassin and Moddex in it, and no one was standing.

Sitting up, wondering how long he had been unconscious, Schizm first watched the car turn toward the inner city.  As his eyes lost car, his attention was diverted to the two heaps on the ground, Jericho and Istauri.  Jericho's shoulder was sliced open neatly, and a couple of bullet holes marred the edges of his arms and body.

Forcing himself to stand, Schizm hobbled over to Jericho and reached into his jacket pocket, pulling out a small medical kit.  Splashing a little disinfectant on the wound in Jericho's shoulder and the needle he pulled out, Schizm began to wind together the parted flesh with a deft hand.  Moments later it was over, cotton batting covering the shoulder, but not so much that it impaired mobility greatly.

Turning to Istauri, he wondered if he should bother helping.  The Animas had protected Rhakshi, but at the same time needed help from the concussive blast of Rhakshi's grenade.  Sighing, he walked over and sat the cat-type animas up, putting the small vial of smelling salts under his nose.

Wrinkling his nose at the smell, Istauri began to come to.  That was that.

"Jericho, the assassin has Moddex!  We need to go!"  Without waiting for a reply, Schizm started running with shaky legs down the backalleys toward the inner city.  If he was fast and took the right shortcuts, he could beat the car to wherever it was going.

He remembered one of the wolves striking the sheild. A simple blow couldn't have had this big an effect on him could it?

He looked up just in time to see a tail flick around the corner.

'Right lets try this again' he thought as he jumped up and sprinted after the wolf.

Meanwhile in the subconscience of Moddex's mind, he felt around with no light. He felt as though he had no hands and was blindly bobbing around. The names and faces of people he wasn't familiar with seemed to echo in his head with no voice. Flashes and images came rushing at him in a blast suddenly. Sights of a silohette figure of a man walking towards a large pedestal in th center of an enormous facility of some kind. Lights flooding the structure. His vision rushed in a blink of an eye back down somewhere. Somewhere on the surface of the world where just in a flash of blinding light and a deafening roar came an explosion of fire, plasma, and radiant light. The aftermath (http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c170/Akira1-07/Archive/GroundZero.png) was mind blowing as Moddex's sight returned from the violent light. Fire was searing across mountains and valleys in his vision. Explosions complimented the scene as random places continued to ignite into gaseous flames.

He could see the silohette once again of the main, but he was now an inverted opaque white light. Where ever he stepped, trails of light would follow and rings of symbols engraved themselves into the ground, radiating with the same intense light the man gave off. As if noticing, the figure stopped and seemed intent on Moddex.

The figure raised one hand and sent a hail of lights from above down upon Moddex when he suddenly awakened.

Panting and struggling to re-attain his composure, he shook his head. He could feel movement beneath him and hear the rumble of a revving motor. Everything that happened in the alley was racing back to his mind as he affixed his train of thought on what was happening once again. Instead of going gung ho on the situation, he took some deep, silent breaths and crept his way to the driver's seat where Rhakshi was, driving with a tense expression on his face. A grin of satesfaction crawled over his once pursed mouth. The vehicle lurched and began speeding forward, sending Moddex backwards. Just before he could slam into the door, Moddex caught himself, regaining balance.

Looking around for anything blunt in the van, he drew an AP-12 from a gun holster that was stored for use of the guards who rode with Rhakshi. Silently like a snake, Moddex slid a clip into the gun and parked the black hand gun beside Rhakshi's head. "Slow the vehicle now...", Moddex whispered darkly into his ear, his expression blunt and stoic.

Jericho knew he had been careless in his charge at Rhakshi, but there was no time to waste. He picks up his sword once more and takes off after Schism, following him down the shortcuts he was taking. It was then he realized he was following someone else besides Schism. The Animas' scent was still noticable on the trail Istauri was following. His movement was slightly impared due to the pain in his shoulder. The bullet wounds weren't quite as intense. The little blue squirrel-like creature finds it's way out of Jericho's shoulderpad and on top of it as he ran. It was slender, sporting small, sharp claws and a black mouse-like tail with a blue poof-ball at the end. It's ears were long, skinny and pointed.

The creature braces itself and lunges for one of the walls, sticking to it with it's claws and climbing, dissappearing over the side and running along the tops of the buildings, following Jericho somewhat.

Ãƒâ€š  Ãƒâ€š  Ãƒâ€š  "Huh, interesting proposal, why not:
At the time the vehicle had been going very fast so when he slammed on the breaks it caused Moddex to fly through the windshield. It had been battle damaged from a previous contract and he forgot to reinforce the glass. Getting out and walking towards Moddex he put a gun to his head.

Schizm burst out into an open street just off of one of the alleyways he had taken and stopped for a moment.  Straining his ears, he heard the distant rumble of the motor he'd been tracking.  To the east.  He turned and stopped again as he caught two forms in the alley.  One he knew must be Jericho.  The other could be the Animas that protected Rhackshi.

Making a mental note to rendevous with them when this was over, Schizm vaulted off toward where he assumed the car was.  There was a down-revving of motorsound.  The car was slowing.  Was it to dump the body of Moddex, or had he found a way to manipulate the situation to his advantage?  Schizm hoped it was the latter.

Sliding around the next corner, he looked down the street about a half a mile.  The car was stopped, but nothing else was happening.  He ran toward it, ready to shoot with the measly tranq gun, but hoping not to have to.

"You're more cunning thatn I'd expect. I suppose that would only be expected though from an elite such as yourself. However...", said Moddex as he paused. "Do you think you can pull that trigger fast enough?", he asked finally. At this, the gun in Rhakshi's hands began disassebling itself surpisingly fast as the clip dropped out. Following that, he spun around on his hands to get himself on his feet, making a helicopter-like motion with his legs which slammed into Rhakshi, knocking him over and sending the parts of the gun into the air from his hands. Moddex was already on his feet, now rather weary of his opponent.

He cared not what his pay roll was, but he certainly was intent on making sure he didn't get it. "Now listen you. I don't have time for your games!"

Rhakshi rather annoyed by now with the persistance of his target said
"Games huh? I'm curious, what's your plan now? Your unarmed, in the middle of this city. Theres not much you can do.
Rhakshi put his hand over the glaive fixed on his side ready to draw it out if needed. He looked over to one of the assasin droids and called it over without Moddex knowing it was right behind him. Rhakshi got up from the ground staring at Moddex with a slight grin on his face.

In the recesses of Moddex's mind came the jolting hint that something was behind. Immediately, he took to sidestepping forward and backflipped behind Rhakshi. "I don't care anymore how I deal with you!!!", roared Moddex as he gripped his forehead. A ring of small symbols arranged themselves in front of his forehead. He looked stright up and an orange beam shot up into the air, then burst into smaller rays that came showering down. The many beams went off like fireworks when they hit the ground. Two of them hit the van, burning straight through the roof and making the vehicle rock side to side violently. Two of the buildings on either side of the street took some damage as well. Chunks of the walls were bored off by the beams, the street filling with holes.

Rhakshi watches as the beams hit the ground destroying everything in there path, light flashing everywhere. Debris flying off buildings causing more damage to the streets. He had never seen anything like this before, at least not without some form of technology. Backing away slightly Rhakshi was hit in the head by oncoming debris and was knocked onto the street floor. Sounds seemed to echo through his head as everything started to fade out.

Watching the odd rays of light bursting into everything they touched ahead of him, Schizm stopped short.  He didn't want to get in the way of those.  That would be a mistake he felt for a while.

Once the chaos ceased, he edged forward until almost to the hood of the totalled car.  Moddex seemed dazed, as well he should be after going through the window of a car and doing... whatever the hell that was.

Drawing up next to Moddex, Schizm looked at the unconcious assassin.  "Wow... I won't even ask what just happened."  He bent over and picked up the glaive lying next to Rhakshi's fallen figure, examining the fine edge.  "Now, where were we before we were so rudely interupted?"

The two assassin droids twitch, fizzel, then crumple to the ground as the little squirrel-like creature hops off of them. The creature darts for the alleyway just in time for Jericho to come around the corner and slide to a stop. The little squirrel crawls up Jericho's pant-leg and up to his shoulder where it sits. He, too, takes up a slow stride towards Rhakshi, his sword still in paw. Reaching his free paw up, he pets the creature upon his shoulder, which gives a content chirr as it pushes it's head into the petting.

Moddex sat in a heap silently for a short few seconds, then flopped over. He still layed what appeared conscious, staring straight up. He expression remained a stunned and look of bwilderment and perhaps pain. He reached into his pocket carefully, drawing a small, hand held device (http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c170/Akira1-07/GRAFFQuadScanner.jpg). He looked at it, pressing a few buttons and holding it in the air." eK levels... 4.056..? Damn...", he repeated weakly to himself in his head as he read the scanner." I really didn't even need to do that... I went way overboard"

Schizm walked over to where Moddex lay holding the device.  Wondering briefly about what it did, he decided to ask about it later.  Reaching down he took Moddex by the forearm and hauled him to his feet.

"I don't know what that was, but I'm staying out of the way if you do it again.  Do you know who this guy is?" Schizm pointed to the fallen form of the assassin.  "'Cuz something about him rings a bell... but i can't put my finger on it.  Anyway, what do we do now?  My place is out of the question, I don't know about Jericho.  All I know is that I don't have anywhere now."  He sighed and threw down the glaive he'd picked up.  "Listen, I don't even know you guys, but I'm sorry for dragging you into this.  Anything I can do to help with anything, I guess I owe it to you."  He looked at Moddex expectantly.

The sound of wreckage still filled the area around Rhakshi when he had regained consciousness.  Feeling an abrupt pain in his side from a peice of debris finding it's way into him. He was on the cold ground where he had fallen, opening one of his eyes he could see them standing near him. His glaive had fallen near him. At least he hadn't died, though he had been through more then this before. Perhaps now that there attention was diverted away from him this would be a good time to attack, though he was in no condition to at this time, at least not until he figured out the full potential of his bounties. He continued to lay there with his warm blood flowing down on his fur.

Moddex returned the device to his pocket and looked over to Scizm and Istauri." I hardly have a clue as to what's going on. But... I believe I am being persued. I vaguely remember something of the sort. What's more, I'd like to know more about everyone and their purpose here... But first, we must get to a safer location. Take the assassin. I need to ask him a few things, besides...", said Moddex as began to smile with his eyes shut in a calm look." I somewhat have respect for his capability and cunning. That doesn't mean we should let our guard down of course"

He stood up, covered in scratches and small cuts from the glass that was still lodged in some places on him from the windshield. He walked over to Rhakshi." You're no ordinary assassin. Come, if you wish to battle me, then I want it to be an even and perfect fight. There's no sense in the two of us fighting as we are. I also want to talk", said Moddex to Rhakshi as he knelt down next to him.

Rhakshi watched as Moddex had approached him. Had he come to finish the job? Rhakshi moved his paw over the holster of his pistol. Even if he had enough strength left in him to pull it out thered be no way he would be able to beat him in the current situation. Though to Rhakshi's surprise Moddex did not attack, apparently he had a bit more honor about him then that. After hearing what Moddex had to say Rhakshi thought about it for a second.

Schizm smirked, but with no real humor.  He was exhausted, but he owed it to these people. "All right.  We'll take a backway there.  If there's anyone waiting there, we'll take care of them first.  And you." Schizm pointed at the collapsed assassin. "If you ever try anything like that again..."  He left it off there.

"Come on. Just follow me, and stay close.  The way I'm taking will get you lost easily if you're not right behind me."  He grinned wryly. "Just try to keep up."

Jericho keeps the small squirrel-like creature on his shoulder as he turns his blade around to hold it more like a dagger. More of a carrying fashion as he follows Schism slowly, making sure Moddex and the assassin kept up. He didn't have to look at them, however. The creature on his shoulder stared intently at the assassin, the big rodent-like eyes never leaving their target.

He had a purfect chance to attack at this point since he was following, though he hesistated and decided not too. Perhaps maybe cause he didn't fully understand the targets, or perhaps he felt as if he owed something for sparing his life. He caught a glimpse at the creature glaring at him sitting on Jericho's shoulder wondering what it was doing. Keeping an eye out was his guess. Schizm tore open the door to the front of Chase Arms, quickly scanning to make sure noone was there before entering.  He walked carefully to the back counter, willing his legs to stand for him, and looked.  Oh no.

Jani, the old shopkeeper who had taken Schizm in after his parents and almost everyone he knew had died, tatoos snaking up his short-furred arms, lay sprawled on his back.  He appeared to be sleeping, but there was no movement to indicate that he was breathing.  Hardly believing what he saw, Schizm knelt down beside the old Anima.  No pulse.

"No.  Why...? What...?" Schizm's companions were out of his mind for the moment.  He looked at Jani's old, careworn face.  A trickle of dark blood was drying against his cheek, and more stained his chin.  Looking lower, Schizm saw the cause of his friend and guardian's death.  The rib cage was collapsed inward as if struck by a speeding car.  The death must have been quick.  "Who did this to you?"

He began to move the body when he noticed something fall out of Jani's hand.  A crumpled note.  Words.  Jani's last words to him.
I'm sorry that I can't be around to protect you any longer. The Andros offered me an ultimatum: give you to them, or die.  I don't know what you did to warrant their attention, but the choice is clear to me. If it could be any other way, I would have it so.  But I can't have you die. I won't let them take you like they did your parents.  Know that I have my own reasons, and that I loved you like my own son.  -Jani

Schizm sat looking at the note, unaware of anything else going on around him.  What had happened had happened.  He couldn't change that no matter how hard he tried.  But he would make sure that Jani hadn't dided for nothing.  He crumpled the paper and just sat for awhile, thinking about the good old days.  He would miss the good old days very much.

As Jericho walks into the store behind Schism, he had smelled the scent of blood. He knew something was amiss already, for he had become attuned to the scent of blood from his companions. This was a new scent. Walking further in, he finds the source. As Schism kneeled down, Jericho steps forward, putting his sword away and placing his un-armored right hand upon Schism's shoulder, an understanding look upon his face. He knew exactly what loss felt like.

Moddex looked down to Jani who crouched over him was Scizm. He went pale as his eyes relaxed to a tranqui expression. "This was my fault... You know they're after me, right..?", said Moddex as he panned his view around to everyone." Rhakshi should know as well why the Ivokians are at my throat. Why there have been attacks outside their borders"

Moddex walked over to a nearby crate and sat down with a look of conclusion. "I think it's time everyone should know the situation. It's only been a few hours since getting out of the hospital, so my memory's a bit fuzzy from my concussion. First off, I am Moddex Everest; the revolutionist of the Animas people and the commander of Project Rebirth. Over the past two years, I have been trying time after time again to stop the Ivokian regime and their assault on our kind.

Perhaps all of you believe that their attacks are an act of aggression and hatred, but there's a deeper reason. They want to stop us because we possess the potential of toppling their rule. What I'm saying is that we could be able to fight against Ivok the same way the Zeilodians did 200 years ago. We have the power of taking on their psycho-kinetic abilities..! You saw what I did back there with the bullet, and when I fought Rhakshi..!" Moddex paused for a moment, looking to see if what he had said was believable. Even he himself was having a hard time believing his story.

"They fear us because we can do the same kind of damage Zeilodia could. Our two races were allies in history and we worked alongside them in aims of prosperity. Zeilodia possessed the most fearsome weapons as well though. The Zenith is a prime example of their power. I'm not sure what they taught in school, but that smaller star at night isn't actually a star, but it's a satellite. An orbital weapon created by Zeilodia to monitor and defend the nations from others like the Ivokians. In school, they only tell you it's star... I can't believe that they would...

But enough about that for now. I need to ask you a few things, Rhakshi", finished Moddex.

Schizm stood as Moddex turned to address Istauri.  He'd only really been listening with half an ear, but he understood he needed to get evryone guns.  He guessed that was a good thing, to take his mind off of Jani.  The boxes and crates.  All a facade.  That was for the customers.

He walkied over to the back wall where there was a small desk littered with papers and he swiped them off, maybe a little too hard and scattering papers everywhere.  Reaching down, he opened the lid of the desk, reached under a stack of tax forms and pulled a little lever.  Jani and his playthings, alway where you'd least expect them.

Schizm walked back over to the gun case, displaying all the latest in projectile and plasma weaponry, and bypassed the handle for it, instead pulling on the frame of the case, which swung out.  There were the parts he needed along with some pre-assembled things he'd tinkered with.  Living in as armory for most of his life had taught him a little about mechanics.  He felt a remnant of his pride from when he had proudly announced he'd made one of the most deadly firearms in existance and Jani had agreed.

Pulling over a small crate Schizm sat down and and began to divvy out the guns into seperate piles.  He'd probably have to explain most of them, like the thing that looked like a small gatling-gun with a plasma battery on it (he hadn't named that yet.)  but the one that wasn't assembled was for himself.  It was a crossbreed weapon that he'd come up with a month ago, and he didn't want anyone else to have to touch the damned thing.  Hell, he didn't even want to touch it.  But he would.  And he felt sorry for the first person to cross him when he had it.

He made a small pile of his self-assembled clandestine arms for Moddex, Istauri, Jericho, and one for Rhakshi, in case Moddex decided they could trust him.  That done, he began his work putting together the behemoth weapon which he dreaded and loved at the same time.

turning from Schism, Jericho looks to the door of the shop. He had weapons, the only two he would really need. He struggles within himself. He was taught that guns shouldn't be used unless one is placed in a dire situation. He turns around, though, looking to the weapons within view. He picks up a weapon, looking over the design. Made with a different intensity of plasma. It was more of a handgun, but the trademark plasma canister within the handle gave away that it was, indeed, just like his left arm's armor. Perhaps he could use this in a different way than it was designed. He gives a smirk, passing it to his left paw and giving it a spin. Sure, he was defying his teachings, but he could do a better job with something that hit a target the same time it fired a round.

Istauri looked up

"The Masters? They're the ones who trained me, they taught me almost everything I know. They're the ones who put this collar on me" He tapped his collar and blue symbols scrolled across it. They read:

ISTAURI:ANI5269-PSI

"They added that last part after I attacked one of them without touching them, I bled all over the place and passed out. That was when they started training me."
"To be honest i don't know much about them. I only know that they aren't Animas." He recited "That Animas are to serve them and that all good Animas wear their collars" He paused and looked at the others. "You don't have collars?"

There was a click behind him. In the corner of the room Schizm was performing some interesting 'modifications' on some some weaponry.  Istauri looked at Schizm, anger and sorrow eminated from the wolf. 'Masters they may be,' he thought 'but the pain they can cause is far from benevolent.'

Moddex turned to reply, but no words came out. He gave a moment to ponder instead, starring at Istauri. "I have heard of some Animas speaking of 'The Masters'. Talk, but only rumors. Most who did acted very strange. But that serial code... 5269-PSI. I believe they marked you under a psionic listing. That would mean...", said Moddex as he trailed off into thought. He continued stacking a few boxes of plasma cells and ammunition for a T1-28 Ripper he found for an R Series. Perhaps we was planning to fit it to one.

"Scizm, we need a van or something. Got one?"

He put down the partially completed machine and turned toward Moddex.

"Well, Jani keeps... kept... a couple of bikes and a little T-car in the garage back there." He pointed to the door behind him.  "But I think he has something else, too.  There's this door that connects the garage to another room, but it's got this huge lock on it.  I suppose i could get it off, but I don't really know what's in there other than that it's a vehicle of some sort.  He never took it out."  He got up and turned to the door, calling over his shoulder, "I'll open it up an let you know what's going on."

Schizm opened the door out into the gloomy interior of the garage, a small car shaped like a T, true to it's name, parked inside.  That would never get them all out of here.  Sighing, he turned to the door and pulled out the little bag of tools he'd been using on the gun.  If that's even what it could be called.  Pulling out a little acetyline torch, he sheared the first padlock.  No time for niceties.

The second lock was a bit more difficult, but nothing he couldn't handle.  Schizm pulled out one of the smaller plasma pistols he'd upgraded and shot the handle to the lock in, calling back quickly that he was okay.  He opened the door, careful not to touch any of thescorched metal, and looked inside. It was dim, but only to an Andros. Whoa...

Personally, Jericho would have taken a bike. It would give him room to use his weapons, lead danger away from everyone else, and not risk getting the others shot. He looks down to his waist, then looks around quickly for a belt with a holster. He wasn't able to find one before he heard a gunshot, his paw with the pistol coming up quickly, looking around the corner. He settles down a bit, standing back up from his searching and just hanging onto the gun. "What did you find?"

"Oh...my..."  Schizm was speechless.  This was more than a van.  Hell, this was bigger than anything he'd ever expected to find in here.  He felt his fur quivering with excitement, but he couldn't force the words out for the moment.

"Ummm, Jericho..."  Schiz realized Jericho was approaching him.  What about the others, though?

"Guys, there's a tank in here!  A damned Andros tank in here! One of the old HAV-109's!"  The thing was huge, making the T-car behind him seem like a kid's tricycle.  And the guns... they wouldn't have to worry about a whole lot with the turrets on that thing.

But would it run?  It was easily as old as he was, and Schizm inherently distrusted Andros-made machines.  Jumping into the musty room, which probably hadn't been opened for a while, he set to work looking at the engine and gaped.  Jani had done a lot of work on this bad boy.  The eight separate plasma-cell batteries attached to an oversized and armored engine testified to that.

"Jericho, this thing is unstoppable.  The engine... I've never seen such a huge block, and it even has a separate tank, a whole tank, for the nitrogen condensor.  An engine like this should explode with that much power, but the plasma cells  are hooked up to that and then to the engine.  Not only is it going to be fast, it will live forever."  Schizm stopped to take a breath.  He didn't know how much of that Jericho had understood, but he knew that it had knocked he himself for a loop. "I'm going to check out what he did to the armor and the firepower. "

He hopped onto the turret and into the main cabin, which was so armored up it left little room for him.  Luckily the cargo hold was only half as reinforced, which is to say that it could take a direct hit from an armor piercing plasma round and keep on going.  Oh yes, this was a good thing.  A little fiddling around and he found that it had basic controls just like the older model Street-Rovers.  Piece of cake.

"This is perfect! This will do great in breaking the lines around the city. On top of that, we have these spare bikes which can flank anybody coming and cover as support fire. Let's start loading up the tank and prepare to move out", said Moddex as he rushed back to the gun office to grab some medical supplies in the back room.

Schizm checked to make sure that Moddex was finished with him for now before hopping back out of the turret.  Running into the shop he pulled out the keys to the bikes and threw them on the counter, then back to the gun case, still swung out.  He closed it, picked out the most powerful sniper rifle in it.  His specialty.

Finding as many rounds for it as he could, Schizm stuffed his pockets with rounds.  Plasma was good, but too easily dispersed.  Bullets he liked better because they did more damage (especially with the illegal hollow-point rounds he had in one of the cases) and because it was more fun.  Took a bit of skill, and Schizm was better with it than most highly trained Enforcers.

With the gun slung over his shoulder, Schizm sighed and turned back to the partially assembled device he'd been working on.  He'd have to finish it quick if it was to prove any use in the upcoming confrontation.  He just hoped he didn't have to use it.  In truth, he was afraid to use it.  Not for him, but for any innocents in the vicinity.  He swallowed drily and started to finish it.  By the time he was done he was shaking, but he slung it over his shoulder along with the sniper rifle.  It looked pretty intimidating, but it's look wasn't anything to what it really was.  He'd give anyone a crash course if they asked, but he would rather it remained his little secret.

Jumping back into the tank once again, he opened the slot that allowed him to see outside the heavily armored turret enough to slide the sniper barrel out.  Then he turned the ignition.

The thing sounded more powerful than it looked, which was hard to pull off.  Schizm hoped it performed as well as it sounded.  He checked the artillary counter and saw it was loaded with five rounds.  He had checked them out, and what Jani had put into it wasn't anywhere close to legal.  What would happen would be akin to a very localized atom bomb explosion, only smaller and without radiation.  It would take out anything it came in contact with.  He liked it.

Pressing the button for the cargo door, he shouted out through the intercom. "OK, everyone, we're ready to roll.  Get in and wait for instructions."

Rhakshi watched as teh doors slid open. It had reminded of a time in his earlier life. But he had taught himself not to lay on such memories. Looking at the tank, and the awe inspired anima's, he gave a long sigh. He had seen many super weapons before, and destroyed them. They were nothing new in his consideration.

"We're taking at least one of these" Jericho says, looking over a bike he called dibs on mentally, running a paw over teh smooth surface. He looks to teh tank. "Is tehre room to store one of tehse? I've got a feeling I'll want one later." He smirks. He knew he would feel too enclosed in teh tank, but if he had to, he would ride in it with teh otehrs.

"I too will ride one of the bikes. I don't really know too much on street rover or tank operations. I also have an idea on how we can shield the tank", said Moddex as he grinned. "Istuari, do you think you can make a concussion field around the tank while it's moving?", he asked. He loaded the extra medical supplies in the cargo hold of the tank and shut it tight. Patting his hands from the dust that collected on the tank. He walked over to one of the bikes. It looked much like the one he rode before he crashed, taking him back in his moments briefly. He shook his head and mounted the vehicle after grabbing the keys from the work counter. "What are you riding in, Rhakshi? A bike or in the tank?"

I've never done a field that big before, I could try. I think i could keep a field up for a short amount of time but if we get hit by anything I'm not offering complete safety. If we do come up against heavy armament then I'll probably be quite out of it afterwards.

"Then make due with your strength, but keep reserve. The whole thing's well armored on it's own so if you get tired, the tank can take a few hits. You may want to ride in the tank to be able to rest while creating the barrier", said Moddex as he started his bike up. It turned on with a low, soft drone from the engine. "Everyone ready? Let's move out to the north exit!"

Rhakshi had plenty experience with small fast vehicles before. So he took one that was left and decided to drive around the tank. He'd have to dodge any ballistic fire that came there way, but he would manage if he had to. He hopped onto one of the bikes

"OK, then.  Let's roll."  Waiting for everyone to get settled in, Schizm turned the ignition.  For one heartstopping moment it did nothing, but after a tense moment, the armor-clad behemoth roared to life.  He fiddled for a moment with the controls, adjusting the height of the mirrors and visors to his height.

He slammed the knob that control the tank- three settings, "2nd", "1st", and "RE"- into the "RE" position.  Revving the powerful engine once, careful not to let the mechanism catch and throw them out through the garage door, he listened.  It was purring, and it sounded different than any other vehicle he'd driven.  It was... humming.  That would be the plasma cells in the engine.  They were active all right.  Jani must have charged them hot before he installed them.  Charged them really hot.

"Everyone good to go?" Schizm shouted out of the hatch.

"Ready!".

Moddex and the group pulled out of the garage into the open, desolate streets of Serenity. The flames of the earlier incidents they cause where sill smoldering in the nearby distances, signified by the plooms of smoke rising from the points of conflict. Moddex gave a whistle and signaled forward. and sped off in the direction, followed by the others.

As they suspected however, the districts were being defended by police units. On their vehicles, this would be easy. Moddex skidded to a halt, his bike turned half to the side as he drew one of the handguns Scizm gave him and began firing at their flankers who were surprised by the suddent attack and appearanceof Moddex and the others.

Jericho hops onto one of the bikes and starts it up, the little creature on his shoulder crawling back under his shoulderpad as he flicks the blade out of it's catch and draws it, pulling the stand free from the ground and speeding off for the others. He zips past Moddex and heads straight for the line of officers. Taking a swipe and felling some, he takes a sharp, skidding turn and comes back to make another swipe, a couple bullets starting to fly past his head.

Schizm had tailed Moddex all the way to the line of officers.  The tank was abnormally fast for what it was, but he'd still needed to make guesses on a couple of turns.  Luckily he'd found the spot.

He peered out the window to where Moddex and Jericho were felling Enforcers left and right, and the police, still confused about this new development, only fired a few potshots.  Some got uncomfortably close, though.  However, none of the shots were aimed at the tank.  Schizm thought that the police squad saw him as backup, which was affirmed as one officer began waving and shouting frantically at him, pointing to the two in the field.

Schizm drew out one of his sidearms, a modified handheld pulse cannon he'd salvaged years ago before they were outlawed, and pointed it out the slot that served for his peephole.  The Enforcer only had time enough to let his jaw drop before his arm was taken off at the elbow, leaving nothing but a charred stump.

At the moment the policemen were paying more attention to Moddex and Jericho, both of them dodging easily.  It still presented danger though.  One good hit with those large-calibur handguns and they wouldn't have time to repair their wounds before dying. Watching carefully as more eyes turned toward the tank, he motioned to Istauri. "Bring up your guard as best you can.  I need a little time to get this thing targeted."  He brought the turret swinging around to face the opposition and shouted to his comrades. "Get off the field!  Unless you want to go down with them, get in the cargo hold quick!"  He dropped the hatch for the cargo hold and prepared to fire.

Istauri concentrated. The air around his hands shimmered, nothing happened.

 "Damn it."

He tried again gradually building the power in his gauntlets. It didn't work, the excess energy just drained away.
In a burst of anger and frustration he rapidly surged a large amount of energy into the gaunlets.  What looked like a heat haze formed around the tank

"Done"

Istauri spluttered, face contorted with concentration. Thankfully the bikes had been close enough and were inside the field

Thanking Istauri quickly, Schizm leveled the turret at the squad ahead, who were pelting the field in vain.  He aimed to the center of the mass of milling Enforcers, who were too busy trying to avoid their fellow's shots by laying on the ground, presumably out of harm's way, to notice the newest threat.  Excellent.

Schizm tensed as his finger depressed the button that would launch the shell.  There was inevitably going to be a huge concussion as the improved projectile threw clear of the explosion anything that it didn't vaporize. As the recoil rocked the tank, he prayed that he hadn't underestimated the strength of the beast Jani had created.

The shell sailed through the air, the sound of the cannon drawing everything to a halt for the split second before impact.  And then a huge flash blotted out everything.  Nothing could survive that.  Schizm didn't have time to register the thought consciously before he threw his head back and howled in pain.  His eyes!  They burned terribly and his vision was gone for the moment.  He hadn't thought about what would happen if he looked at the havoc the bombshell wreaked.  He'd been too caught up in the moment for it.

The pain began to subside, but his vision was a sheet of featureless gray.  Schizm hoped the others had had enough sense to look away beforehand.

"Istauri... take the wheel.  I can't see right now, and I don't want to crash us into a building," he said cooly.  He couldn't afford to panic now, so he shifted over to let the Anima scoot to the side enough to take control of the vehicle. "I sure hope you know how to drive this thing."  Schizm sat back and closed his eyes and waited for his vision to swim back, mentally noting to look at the damage one of Jani's '"inventions" was going to do.

Istauri opened one eye, he edged into the seat and took up the controls. An acrid reached his nostrils. He looked down to see the excess energy from the gauntlets slightly warping the controls.

"Erm Schizm, i'm not sure this is a good idea. I don't wanna break this thing, I generally avoid technology when i've got a big field up"

Moddex's eyes burned from the light. He could bearly see after the detonation of the shell, but from his blurry vision, he could make out what appeared to be a large scorch zone covering the entire intersection in black and small charred remains. The post was eliminated completely, but Moddex was unable to hear. Only a toneless ring returned to his senses.

"I... I can't hear a thing. Damn!", he thought as he revved his engine on his bike to see if even the loudest of sounds would give indication to his ability to hear, but nothing. "I'll just have to wait till I can hear again. I'll heal up eventually...", he thought to himself. He paused for a moment as his vision was returning to a thin , detail depreciating haze.

"Everyone okay!?", he shouted out.

Rhakshi looks up from under a pile of debris, his equipment made it impossible for him to be deafened or blinded momentarily, a very useful tool, in his leg buried deep was a peice of metal shrapnel. Yelping in pain he tried to take it out, his blood going down his leg armor.

Schizm called out from the now-open hatch. "Roger that!"  He fumbled around blindly trying to find the cargo door release switch.  His paws scrabbled all over the dash, trying to find it, finally finding the little handle.  He pulled and he heard a thump as the door slammed open, exposing all the medical equipment.

The task done, he turned back to Istauri.  "Okay, unless you want to end up meat for the police, you'd better learn how to drive this!  Don't touch anything yet, the others need stuff from out the back.  I can't see anything yet, so I'm hoping you are one hell of a quick learner."

Not waiting for a response either way, Schizm slammed down the hatch.  Darkness was back, and the only way he knew was that the gray of his vision dimmed slightly.  He gestured to his seat and said, "We're switching."
