Yeah…another one……so sue…
The Usual Warning: Please please please don’t join this game if you are squeamish about anything gory, bloody, anything involving persecution/imprisonment/torture, anything vaguely religious in reference, monsters, demons, etc, and all of the above featuring children as involved. I don’t want to deal with people crying: “OMG ewww ew ew…did that Monster really just bite off that girl’s leg? You’re sick, Sasha.” General marker? If you can’t stomach Silent Hill, then you sure as heck aren’t going to be able to stomach this.
That in mind, I will do my best to keep this in legal limits; I am not sure what Furry Forum thinks regarding excessive violence, but seeing what kinds of crazy gory things you people do on a usual basis I think I’ll be okay.
STORY
((This is just a starting point. After I create the IC thread and make my initial post, then you’ll be able to see what the heck I mean by all this and see it put in action.))
There is a place, tucked between the world of the Saved and the world of the Wicked, a place known only as Purgatory. Here, the ground and terrain looks for the most part, just like our own here on Earth. The same kinds of plants, the same rivers, mountains, oceans, and deserts. The same style of buildings, the same paved roads.
But —despite the way Purgatory seems so familiar and close to heart at first— you will realize just how wrong things are within moments of arriving.
The sun never shines, hidden for millennia behind ashen grey clouds.
The silence is deafening. As you walk, you can hear the echoes of your footsteps resounding off of everything around you.
It’s lonely. You can go for seemingly endless miles through densest fog and not happen across a single other Dearly Departed soul.
Oh, and one more thing: Purgatory is infested by Monsters and Demons.
But all does not fall prey to the wiles of evil.
For, on the far edge of Purgatory, there lies an old-style town. Inside this town is a boarding school called Saratosa, large and grand, equipped full-tilt to house as many young children as possible. Saratosa is run by a singular woman(?) who calls herself Bridgette. Bridgette is certainly no Angel. Nor is she a Demon. She is…something in between. A woman claiming a higher purpose, a woman who answers to a master known only by the name: HIM.
More and more dead children arrive at the gates at her will, seeking guidance for their wretched Afterlife. She grows happier and happier.
What does she want, and how did she get here, into Purgatory, without ever having died? Why a school for children, when children do not belong in this world? How is she bringing them here in the first place?
All will be answered by HIM, in due time.
Now. Take your Letter and read it. Memorize it. Do not question it…or a Surgery may be in order for you, young one.
The Letter of Welcome:
WELCOME, MY BRILLIANT CHILDREN…
I can see that you all are adjusting quite well to your first day of Death here in Saratosa. Are your rooms comfy enough? I tried to ensure they were so. Tomorrow we will begin our first classes. Yes, we do have some general rules here, and they are as follows:
1. You MAY NEVER, EVER leave the school grounds. Doing so is dangerous in the first place. The Monsters and Demons do not touch our school, it is protected, but if you, like a meandering little Alice, wander beyond the front gate…then your fate is no longer with us and I hope Jesus will pray for you.
2. You MAY NEVER, EVER attempt Life-giving incantations or incarnations. These can often backfire against you, as well as harm others.
…and then 3. You MAY NEVER, EVER disobey or question your superiors.
Simple enough rules to follow, am I right? Now for our school discipline policy. For your first week or so we will be lenient because you are still adjusting, but after that we will operate on a three strike basis, seen thus:
Strike One- We will take away certain luxury privileges from you, possibly isolate you all together if needed.
Strike Two- We will confine you in the Brink for a total of three days, limited luxuries.
Strike Three- We will perform a correctional Surgery upon you. Various intended results.

CHARACTERS YOU CAN PLAY
Couple of points to be made before I move on. First, the children in this are, in fact, ‘dead.’ The other characters are not dead. They originate from…another sort of place. But just because you are dead doesn’t mean you become Casper. This is Purgatory- you retain your body and your physical make-up, allowing you to feel pain. Second, if you play one of the others, don’t ask me a bunch about “Who is HIM? And what should I do about HIM?” Because your character doesn’t know anyway. They are just “lower beings” (in her eyes) blindly serving Bridgette, who often preaches to them. Things will work out as we play. Third, you must have at least two characters, and one of them must be a child. The rest can be any of the others you’d like. (Because I know all of you are ‘macho’ and don’t want to play a kid, so I have to require it for you to do so. :P )
Dearly Departed Children: (ages anywhere from 6-13) Dying young is a terrible thing. But it apparently happens a lot. These children are not only so unfortunate as to be smote in their prime, but they have also been denied the joys of heaven by Bridgette and her lackeys’ twisted incantations. After dying in whatever way, they wake up in a bright white room with a handle-less door, discovering that they are still in their bodies, and can still feel the same sensations of taste, touch, smell, sight, pain, etc. that they could while alive. What’s more is…there are these strange noises coming from behind the door...
Prefects:

Prefects were once human, but have been altered, and cloned, and altered, and cloned some more, so much so that it is difficult to recognize their true form nowadays, and difficult to look at them at all without feeling sick to your stomach. They wear as much clothing as possible to hide their unusual alterations, all black for the most part, as well as black masks resembling gas masks…only instead of breathing fresh air, they breathe specialized chemicals from a tank strapped to their back. Their main weapons are long, razor-sharp blades that come in a variety of shapes. They are highly intelligent, adept in battle, and also carry emotion and memory. This is why Bridgette uses them so often, as personal servants, guards, keepers of the peace, police, and soldiers to fight Demons/Monsters.
Teachers:

Teachers do what you think they do…they teach. A variety of Afterlife subjects are pursued within the walls of Saratosa, from Ritual Demonics to Avoid Being Eaten 101. Teachers are fully capable of teaching the darkest, most twisted of material simply because they themselves have had it pounded into their brains all their life. They look, overall, just like a regular furry or human. They are as intelligent as any, can fight or attack if needed, and also carry emotion…though with them memory is hard to come by.
Doctors/Nurses:

Doctors and Nurses are plausibly the most sadistic of the Staff souls, as they get off on seeing the slightest tinges of blood on their operating tables, and operations often become sort of a “super happy fun time” fest for them. They just hate it when an injury is simple to treat, and may even go to great lengths to make their patients’ injuries worse— just so they can confine and torture them for longer. They, similar to the Prefects, may or may not have been physically/mentally altered and cloned in their lifetime. Otherwise, they appear normal. Some are intelligent. Some not able to tell a pencil from a pen. Some can fight quite well…some fall flat on their faces. They can hold emotion, but more often find it difficult to not be overcome by their more Wicked feelings. Memory? What are these…memories you speak of?
NON-PLAYABLE CHARACTERS
Alright, alright, I don’t know whether anyone would be up for it, but I need someone to kind of be my right-hand man and help me with the following two abominations. I will play them as necessary…and even when not necessary…but if you are my right-hand man, then I will allow you to rule over them too.
Monsters: You know the drill. Hideous, scornful things. In all shapes, sizes and varieties, though they generally have more (disgusting-looking) flesh and bone to them than their Demon cousins. Where did they come from? That’s a good question. Some say they have been in Purgatory since the beginning of days, to keep the population down. Recently, the system of naming them has been given up: A Monster is just a Monster. No need for breeds and creeds. They do well to stay far outside the school’s boundaries, where they belong.
What happens if I come across a Monster outside school grounds? Unless you know how to run the good run and fight the good fight, you be their tasty little dinner. Fun-size!
Demons: These are beings that have slipped in dimension over Hell and thereby ended up in Purgatory. Mostly they move by shadow, but when they reveal themselves they look many times more pleasing to the eye than a Monster. Some can transfigure into beautiful dragons, unicorns, white rabbits, and other fanciful beasts that will try and lead you away from safety. Others can take the form of familiars. Still others have certain powers and abilities that make them stand above the crowd. The residents of Purgatory have also abandoned name-giving for the Demons and given them a universal label.
What happens if I come across a Demon outside school grounds? You’d best cower in fear and hope they take mercy upon you. Demons not only have the power to obliterate you, they have the power to steal souls. Since they are slightly more intelligent than Monsters, Bridgette has created a sort of alliance with them. She has commanded them to bring any children they find back to the school, but certain demons can’t be trusted period, especially with the handling of children who have particularly tasty souls…
AND FOR THE PITCH:
Do I even need to say my rules, again, seriously? Sigh. Be nice. Be happy. No sniveling. I very, very rarely kick people out of roleplays, so you’d have to do something really bad to get me to do that to you.
