Title: From The Woods
Post by: Shinzuu Katame: Her Tolfy on March 16, 2010, 01:53:55 PM
Lorazys moved silently through the edge of the forest, looking for what remains of food she can have before she starts the pilgrimage to the rumored Forest Across The Land. She spied a rabbit by itself and ran for it, pouncing it and then sinking her teeth into it. She picked it up in her jaws and began to head out past the treeline. Lorazys normally preferred to eat her prey in the cool shade, but the sun just felt nice. She laid the limp creature onto the floor and laid down, with the rabbit between her front paws and tore its flesh as she ate it. I wonder how long this pilgrimage will take...

A pair of pointed feline ears perked up at the sound of movement.... Kitt's whole head followed the ears as he looked up from his place amongst the tall grasses of the meadow...

Shaking his head lightly he settled back down, the warm sun washed over him, purring happily he stretched out... Then again, he hadnt imagined it this time... somone else was in the meadow as well.... Sitting up to his full height of 50cm he looked over the grass to where he could hear the movement from.... frowning he settled back down onto his haunches, ready to run...

Wolves normally didnt come out onto the meadows... what was this one doing here?

Amadarie extended a brilliant tawny wing, then, with her head bent down, proceeded to preen herself, seperating delicate feather from delicate feather with a hard beak. It had been a tiring flight. Her talons nervously clinched every so often, tearing into the flesh of the old tree branch. For some time now she had been following the wild cat. From a safe distance of course. He was one who....well, he was one of the forest residents who had always fascinated her. They had never met, never exchanged so much as a far-off word. But Amadarie's hawk nature tended to be unusual at best.

Her keen senses perked when the wild cat readied to run, settling back down onto his haunches. Something had startled him. What's he looking at?

Then she followed with innate perception his line of sight- and the wolf female came into view.

Oh. Well how very curious.

Shiro woke up and crawled halfheartedly out of his makeshift den.
"Ooooh... bright.... too bright..."
He stumbled down the hill his den was on. Slowly his eyesight adjusted to the light.
"Mmm... at least it is warm out here... hey look... a birdie..." He muttered, still groggy from just waking up. Birdie didn't look like a normal birdie...
Neither did, what at first glance looked like, the big grey furball that was now injesting a rabbit. Now he could see... he guessed it was a female... her clearly.
"Well, it looks like my place of exile has wolves in it too..."
Since the sun was bright and his den was a few taillengths behind him, he decided to watch her eat.
Nothing special going on today...

Lorazys finished up the the rabbit and left the bones and organs on the ground and got up. She licked her lips before she got up and continued out. It was time to head out west to find a new home. Lorazys took two steps before she smelled something behind the bushes. She turned to it and growled.

Always follow your nose.... a saying Kitt's mother had told him when he was still a kitten.... though the saying had got him through most of his life so far, it would seem the same saying could cause trouble....

In this case he had literally followed his nose to the scent of organs and left over scraps... the perfect meal for a witty scavenger, those mice where hard to catch after all.... it seemed however, that the previous owner had not yet entirely left.... Stopping in his tracks Kitt ducked down into the grass again; the wolf was growling at somthing further into the forest... maybe.... maybe if he was quick enough he could snaffle one of those kidneys and run off with it to eat.....
Or maybe Miss wolfy there could catch me and eat ME....
Kitt pondered... dare he do it?

Amadarie cocked her head at the curious sight of the growling wolf and hiding, hunching wild cat. The sweet smell of fresh kill had long since wafted to her nostrils, and it made the hawk's tummy gurgle with desire....It had been maybe, one...two days since she had last eaten...And the wolf appeared to have left the organs of her kill ungaurded. Maybe wolves preffered to eat only pure flesh.

...When she saw this development, hunger quickly replaced all of Amadarie's other thoughts.

She leaped from the branch and unfurled her wings before flapping slightly to gain some altitude and direction. Then she proceeded to circle overhead the meadow, scanning the terrain below, waiting, waiting for the right moment to dive....

"Okay, enough of this."
Shiro yawned, stretched, and moved up a tree across the way from the wolf, making no move towards the food there. He placed his ear onto the ground, listening for the pit pat of a mouse or shrew. Not hearing it, he moved over to a different section, still circling the wolf and keeping him within eye sight. Then he saw a hawk dive for the intestines that were still on the ground.
"This should be interesting..." he said under his breath.

Lorazys turned her head and saw the hawk, but paid it no mind, as there was more choice meat over in the bush. She got low and slowly tread towards the bush, her cold, blue eyes, just hungering for the sight of the food. As she got closer, she could barely see it, a nice, plump, juicy-looking wildcat. Her mouth watered at the thought of such a voluptuous meal that would probably tie her over for the day. Lorazys growled as she leapt at the bush.

A mewl of surprise burst from the bush and a furred blur dived to the left of Lorazys, missing the wolf by scant inches Kitt zigzagged left and right through the long grass...
"Okay...... She does want to eat me..."
Jumping through a thicket of particularly tall grass and brambles he leapt onto his haunches and cocked an ear, ready to start running again.... had the wolf been able to keep up?

((Wait a moment.  :? I never said that I actually dived, that's a bit of godmodding there.  But no matter, because I was going to dive eventually anyway. I'll just keep going...))

Amadarie rocketed into the nearest tree at great speeds, almost losing the intestines in the turmoil, but managing to right herself and take up a spot on a high branch, near the trunk. There was enough space to carefully set down her meal without holding it, and no bugs or other nuisances. She dug into the entrails fervently. Maroon blood quickly coated her yellow beak.

As she ate, she watched what was going on below with interest, though knowing it was not her place to interfere.

(( *facepaw* okay, I need to read posts better. I think that is the... i lost cound. I apologize and will read the posts people make better.))

Shiro sits on the grass, amused by the procedings. No one was atacking him, he was relatively hidden, and there was a hungry wolf out there.
Nothing to do... maybe he should go find some food...
Nah, its much more entertaining to watch them.

Lorazys stopped before the bramble bush and growled into it before walking back out of the trees. She looked up at the sun and the open fields in front of her. She sighed and walked west, a little upset that she'll have to go hunting again on the way. Lorazys didn't like travelling nor did she enjoy the idea of leaving her home, but there was no choice. She pressed on, not wanting to think of the past, but thought more of her near future and what the journey will hold instore for her.

Kitt stuck his head out from the brambles, ears perked up, ready to run.... he saw the wolf stalking off west......
Ha-cha! luck was on his side!
Jumping out from the brambles Kitt flicked his tail twice and defiance and padded quietly after the wolf... a hawk had snaffled the last of the leftovers, and Kitt had the idea that if he followed this wolf.... an easy meal could be found...
So long as she doesnt try to eat ME again that is....
With that he slinked after the she-wolf, keeping to the shadow of the long grass, and always making sure he was far enough behind the wolf so as not to draw attention to himself..... where was this wolf going anyway?.... more importantly... when would she next catch a meal?

Shiro had run up about 3 feet behind the wildcat, and was mimicking its walk behind him quietly. He was bored out of his skull.
What is there to do? Nothing. What is happening? Nothing.
Mocking a cat's walk was about as interesting as it gets. And if he attacked him, eh, Shiro was crafty enough not to die.

Lorazys strode past the fields for the whole day, and couldn't find any food. Finally, near sundown, she heard some rustling in the fields just across the river she was drinking from. Her ears perked up and she stalked slowly, looking around to find out what the bustling was coming from. Suddenly, an elk jumped over her from the tall grass, and she doubled back and chased after it. Lorazys tried hard to keep up with the potential catch, but her vision was blurring, having only eaten a single rabbit all day. She shook her head furiously and leapt at the beast, digging her claws into its back and biting hard into its neck. They tumbled a good few meters before she had it down and did her best to bite its neck open. She thought to herself as she struggled with this prize feast. It's times like this, being in a pack had its advantages. Ugh, I can't tell what hurts my head more, the tumbling or the lack of food.

Kitt stopped and turned to watch the fox.... cocking his head curiously he continued a couple of metres, and then turned yet again to find the fox mimicking him.... he flicked his tail and cocked his head again...
"I assume you arent trying to eat me?... because if you are you're doing a very bad job of it...."
He turned to look up ahead where the female wolf was struggling with a large elk..... hmmm, if she managed to bring it down... there was the prospect of some scavenging... He turned back to look at the fox, body pressed to the ground, like a coiled spring ready to run...
"Why'r you following me then, fox?"

With a smack of finality, Amadarie snapped shut her beak after the pleasing meal.  But just as quickly as she ended the feast, she also noticed she had lost sight of the prone wild cat. Oh no, oh no, oh no...well that's no fun... She leaped from the tree branch in a flurry of golden-brown feathers and ascended into the air, the branch rattling in wake of her departure. Now I'm going to have to find him all over again...

"Well, there is nothing to do, now is there? I am in a confusing environment, with a clan of foxes that want to kill my in the northern territories, and it is SUCH a beautiful day, that really, who would waste it?"
He crouched down in a mimic of the wildcat.
"I don't know what you usually eat, but mice are fair game. I wouldn't be taking up claws to a wolf any time soon, let alone a wolfess."

Lorazys finally managed to kill the wild beast. She breathed heavily as she finally let go and relaxed her jaw a bit. She opened and closed it twice to loosen her jaw muscles before she began to dig in. It is a true feast, indeed, and Lorazys enjoyed every bit of it. Never had she been able to keep enough spoils from the hunt to satisfy her hunger. She ate until she could eat no more, leaving half of the beast lying around in the afternoon sun. She sighed happily, That should last me till morning. Lorazys went on west, feeling a wee bit sluggish and very thirsty. She went back to the stream and drank from it, while letting the blood slowly run off her fur.

A squirrel jumps form tree to tree and then stops at the end of a branch and looks over at the stream. "Just what we need" he thinks to him self as he starts to scavenge the tree for something to eat.

"Hah! Mice are fair game indeed.... but with a bit of ingenuity somthing larger can be found...."

With that Kitt leapt off in the direction of Lorazys' leftovers, scampering in fast zigzags.... Stopping beside the meat and remains he looked back at the fox...

"I never intend to take claws to any wolfess... but i do intend to take teeth to her leftovers from this kill..."

With that he set about tearing off enough to satisfy his hunger, settling back onto his haunches he chewed away, happily watching the fox.....

"These creatures baffle me, fighting one and other for what! Some scraps, how pathetic" he thinks to himself as he finds a suitable nut. He bangs it against the tree to check it but slips out of his hands.... "crap" the nut falls down to the ground bellow and hits a rock and makes a small thud. The squirrel  runs to the far end of the branch to check if anyone heard that.

Amadarie relishes the feeling of wind between her feathers, the feeling of utmost freedom as she pursues her 'entertainment' from far overhead. Four-legged animals could be so much slower than her sometimes. After what seemed like ages (but was more accurately a few minutes) the hawk spotted him...in the middle of a conversation with a fox. Seemed as though the forest dwellers were becoming much more communicative with each other than usual. Par her normal routine, Amadarie began to scout for a tree.

The lynx raced through the trees, the low lying brances trying to ensnare her fur. Her eyes fixed upon the hunt, her heart pounding wildly and the thought of a full belly made her run faster. She dug her claws through the loam and shoot forward over a fallen log, her eyes never leaving the brown hare which she chased.
"I have to get this" She thought.
Melanie darted around a tree trunk but only to see the hare vanish into a hole. She skidded to a stop and yowled in rage, clawing at the hole, trying to get to the hare. She reached into the hole and tried to grab it but it was too far in. She sat down in defeat and closed her eyes, catching her breath.
"That seems like the only thing I can catch at this rate."
Her tufted ears flicked as she heard something. She opened her eyes and glanced around to see movement behind a bush. She quietly got up and stalked over the forest floor, hoping despretly that a breaking twig would not announce her presence.
"Maybe something faster will do."
Melanies shape distorted, growing bigger. The cheetah crouched to the ground, her tail flicking in anticipation, her claws flexing into the dirt and prepared to pounce.

Lorazys heard sound back at where she was eating and saw the wildcat. However, she's not even hungry anymore, so might as well leave it alone. She continued to trudge along, heading into the Distant Plain that had no trees in sight. Lorazys sighed and forced herself to trudge along. Well, it's either find it, or die here. And I sure as hell am NOT dying here. Especially to those monsters who killed my pack.

As Amadarie circled, she caught something in the corner of her eye...so very, very small...and she made a wide turn-around. Squirrel. Scent...scent so appetizing...He was standing on his hind legs ontop a rock. Interested in something, just as she had been interested in many things lately. To eat him...or to not eat him? That was the question.

Railu was walking through the woods with two other humans. He walked beside his master, Helena as another human walked next to her. The other human was a chubby man who kinda waddled as he walked on his two legs. Both Helena and the man carried long hard stick-like objects. "Stop!" whispered Helena.
Rialu instantly froze in place; his ears perking up listening for anything.
What is it?
Helena slowly set Railu's chain on the ground without making any noise and pointed the stick-like object ahead of her. A deer was behind a bush a few yards off ahead of them. She held it for a few moments before it let out a deafining boom which echoed loudly through the woods. The shot missed and the deer bolted off. "Fetch, Railu!" shouted Helena.
Yes! Fun part!
Railu noticed the deer running away and bolted off after it. He tore through bushes and bounded over rocks and around trees chasing close behind the deer.
I'm gonne get you!
Railu's chain rattled as he continued to chase the deer. He had almost caught the deer when he heard Helena scream then another loud boom echoed through the woods.
Master?!
Railu ran as fast as he could back to Helena, when he got there he saw the fat man over her body stuffing something into the stick-like object he had.
M-Master?!
He knew that the fat man had hurt Helana, so he charged at him as he was knelt down. He saw Railu charging right at him and screamed loudly as Railu tore into his jugular and ravaged the man violently until he stopped moving. After the man fell limp he walked over to Helena's body and nudged her with his muzzle.
Master...? Are you alright, master? Get up...
Helena didn't move, her lifeless body just layed there as Railu started to howl sadly knowing now his master had died.

Shiro grinned at the wildcat.
"That's okay. I am strangely not hungry at the moment. It seems that since my clan kicked me out, I have rather..."
He stopped, catching a sound on the wind.
"What is that sound?"
His head turned all around, ears moving like radar trying to pinpoint the location of the mournful sound.
"That doesn't sound good..."

Just as she was about to launch at the animal on the other side of the bush, Melanie flicked her ears as she heard a sound and lifted her head to look around. It was a mournful cry.
Get your head back in the hunt! She told herself.
She crouched down low to the ground again but a snap of a twig underneath her foot broke the quiet that had followed the cry.

As Railu layed his head over Helena's corpse he heard voices coming from in the distance.
Hmm? Who else is all the way out here?
Three men came into sight, once they saw the bodies they rushed over and found they were dead. Railu rose and looked at the men.
More people...Maybe they can help Master!
Railu's happy and hopeful expression quickly left his face as the men raised their weapons at Railu.
W-What are they-
One of the men shot at Railu, it missed and Railu quickly ran off as the other two took a shot at him.
Ah! Why are they attacking ME?! What did I do?!
Railu continued to run stopping periodically to look back wondering if the humans were going to stop shooting. Two more shots answered his question. He quickly ran again, this time very far away. He ran and ran, he went through a bush and waiting for him on the other side was a stream. He fell right in; he quickly got out of it and shook himself dry. He looked around quickly, noticing the Fox, Wildcat and Squirrel on a rock. Breathing heavily he looked at each one.
You guys need to run! Their after me! Their going to kill me!
He quickly ran off, not knowing it, in the general direction Lorazys was in.

A shiver coursed through Melanies body as she heard the shots, her head snapping up, her fur standing on end and her leg muscles tensing to spring. Her breathing now quick and rapid with fear.
NO!!! Why are they here?! Havent they killed enough? And yet they want more!
In fear at the sound of another shot, the cheetah jumped out from behind the bush and onto the animals behind it

Shiro's instincts hit his brain before his questions, and they told him to run. Running from predators, humans, and now even his own clan gave him that instinct. There was no way he was going to be caught in the fray again. He turned and bolted towards the tall grass.
He did have a chance to look behind him and see the pursuers.
Humans...
why, of all times now, did it have to be those two legs. He shouted a warning to the others.
"Make for the tall grass! They won't be able to follow us there!"

Melanies heart thudded wildly in her chest and she followed the foxes instructions and raced for the grass.
I hope the others make it even though I dont know them.
What she didnt see however in her haste was a low lying branch that caught at her foot and the cheetah smashed headfirst into a tree trunk and fell to the ground.

Railu kept running without looking back, he kept running until he collapsed with a load thud in a treeless plain.
So...Tired...
He saw a rock and staggered to his feet and collapsed once more under it in the shade. He was lying over his chain, which hurt but he was too tired to care.
Master...
Railu fell sat up so he could get his chain out from under him. He just sat there on his hind legs and scanned the horizon.
What is this place? Where are all the human? Where am I going to find something to eat?
He just sat there, filling his head with questions he didn't really care to answer at that moment.

At the first sound of the loud noise toyo fell to his feet and ran for the closes cover.
"What in the name was that" toyo had climbed into a thorn bush, it was the safest cover for any small animal. He climbed to the top of the bush to see the larger animals run by, when he heard the sound again he ducked in the bush when he looked up some thing caught his eye.
"What is... da-" the sound occurred again what he saw could probably be the worse thing possible, a flying predator.

Lorazys heard the commotion from behind her. Sure enough, some humans were chasing some animals out past the treeline. She slunk down low in the tall grass and stayed prone, watching as the humans continued to chase the animals. However, most of them didn't even bother after they found the elk's corpse and left. However, one was persistent enough before he fell into the stream face first. The human grabbed his fire stick and hobbled on back towards the trees. What are humans doing THIS far from their village?

What...Was that?
Curious he went around the rock he was under and climbed on top of it to get a better look. He sat back down on top of the rock and scanned the area.
It must have been nothing...

Lorazys moved out after she was sure that the humans were all gone. She got back up and left, leaving the scurrying morsels to run about aimlessly in the field, she wanted to find her new home and pack soon. Rumors had already spread that most die on the journey, but she was not weak like them. Lorazys was a part of the strongest pack in her clan. She quickly shook those thoughts out of her head, though, not wanting to remember those horrible memories.

Railu darted down the rock, half way down he stopped and slid the rest of the way down chain rattling against the rock; stopping only inches from Shiro's face.
Wait...
Railu turned around with his head as he sat down on his hind legs infront of Shiro. He then looked back.

Railu was very confused as he sat there looking at Shiro, right in his face. Close enough if he licked his own nose he would get a mouthfull of Fox.

"Oh... this is just classic... the dog has no owner, and now he's confused and alone...."
The small wildcat stopped just at the edge of the thicket, ready to spring back into cover if anyone decided to have a taste for cat suddenly... sitting on his hind legs he proceeded to groom himself, all the while watching the canine with one bright amber eye as if he was a curious beetle that he'd never seen before....

He stopped licking one paw, and looked up at the charging dog with bright piercing amber eyes...
"At least.... not if you dont expect some competition.... lets race"
With that he leapt to the left, zigzagging between small thorn bushes and thick tufts of grass in a mad, darting blur...

Railu was able to barely keep up with Kitt as he chased him. Jumping over the thorny bushes and barreling through the tough thickets of grass.
I'm gonna get ya!
He was still unsure why he was chasing him, but he couldn't fight the urge to do it. He was still barking wildy as he chased Kitt.
Haha! You can't get away from ME!
As Railu charged through a bush his chain caught on a branch and stopped him. He let out a yelp as the chain tightened around his neck. He got to his feet and moved closer to the bush and the chained loosened it's grip on his throat allowing him to breathe again.
Dangit...I almost had him!
As he tried to pull the chain free it just kept getting tighter the way he was doing it. He soon decided to find another approach...But what, he didn't know.

Kitt pranced just out of the dogs reach, obviously exhilarated by the chase...
"Haha! Kitt the speedy cat escapes again!.... though to be fair, you did put up a good chase.... and for that, though i may regret it, i'm going to help you get untangled from that bush... just... dont bite me..."
With that he leapt up onto the branch of the bush and shoved the chain off with his muzzle and a couple of mumbled curses and complaints on how heavy his darned chain was...
"Ugh...why do you have this stupid chain anyway?"

Railu admitted defeat and let Kitt get him free. He then shook a bit before sitting down and looking at him.
What? It was a gift from my master, she gave it to me. She told me to wear it, so I would be protected.
As Railu sat there he scratched his ear again; rattling the chain as he did so.
So, who's your master, cat?
Title: Re: From The Woods

Kitt laughed, again in the soft and purring way that only a cat, or maybe a fox, could....
"Me? A master? I have no master, silly dog..... and i have a name, its Kitt... though if you prefer being called Mr.Dog; then i'm fine with just being called 'cat'.."
He smirked, tail flicking lazily he looked over to the fox who was still watching the dog warily... he also noticed a hawk, spiralling far above them searching for her own lunch..... big birds like that where not on Kitt's menu....

Railu stopped scratching his ear and looked at Kitt puzzled.
You don't have a master? Don't all animals have masters?
He then followed Kitt's tail as it flicked back and forth. A moment later a breeze blew in their direction. Railu's ears perked up and he started sniffing the air. He caught wind of a scent, it was familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time. His tailed wagged exitedly.
Is that another dog?
Railu quickly sat up and walked off nose to the ground sniffing it as he moved closer and closer to Lorazys without knowing it was her. His chain made it's usuall noise as it dragged along behind him.

Shiro had followed them and his nose twitched at the scent.
"No, not all animals have masters. There are some that eat other animals. That... "dog" you smell would be one of those. How about you don't try to find her." he said, looking for where a wolf would probably be.

Lorazys heard the jingling of the chain behind her get closer and she turned around and glared. Her instincts took over, and before she knew what she was doing or who or what was coming her way, she dashed towards it and pounced the dog hard onto his back. Lorazys snarled, baring her fangs. "What do you want from me, you pet of those disgusting humans!? Are you here to take me over to your masters to kill like they did the rest of my pack!?
Title: Re: From The Woods

Railu looked at Lorazys completely dumbfounded.
W-What? Your a dog, don't you have a master? Why would I want to bring you back? And what do you mean by "Pack"?
He struggled a little, oblivious to his life being in danger.

Lorazys roared loudly in his face, very angry and offended. "How DARE you demean me to be similar to the likes of you! I am a wolf, and I don't hesitate to kill, nor do I serve anyone but my alpha or myself! I bow down to NO ONE!" Her snarling had now gotten to the point of saliva spurting with every word and her fur standing straight out and pointed.

Railu was realizing the situation he was in, his eyes widened.
Ah! I didn't mean to offend you! I don't even know what a wolf IS!
He wriggled more but got nothing from it.
It's just you look like a do- NO! Um, you look very wolf...ey...OH PLEASE DON'T HURT ME!!

Lorazys snarled again, but sniffed him and then calmed down a bit. She was losing time and not liking it one bit. Lorazys gave a low growl one more time before getting off the dog. She turned and walked away, returning to her westward journey. Every bone in her body screamed to kill the dog, but she resisted it. Another part of her that the dog's scent was unmistakable. They WERE alike in some ways, though he was much smaller than her, and that thought itself brought more rage into her head and heart.

Railu stammered to his feet and watched as Lorazys walked off. At that time, he noticed she was female.
A-A female?! I just got dominated by a female?! No way!!
He put his paws over his head as he sulked on the ground letting out a faint whimper.
I have to redeem myself!
Railu rose to his feet, his fur coat shining in the sunlight.
But how...?
He sat back down on his hind legs and thought deeply.
Aha! I will use my superior dog intelect! She will melt in my paws at my superiority!
He stood up again, coat shining once again in the sun.
What if she kills me...? She was bigger than me...
Railu sat back down...
But I must! I won't be a man if I do nothing and let her dominate me like that!
Railu rose to his feet, coat shining one last time as he ran after her. He caught up with her and walked on her right.
Hey, uh, I think we got off on the wrong paw. I'm Railu, nice to meet you. Bwuahahahaha, I'll butter her up and strike when she least expects it!

Bronte's heavy paws plodded the ground as she took off running, chasing after one of the feathered things that often pecked around in the village. She didn't like them unless she was chasing them, because then they were funny to watch. Unlike the ones in the sky, they couldn't fly.. Only panic and flap around until she either caught them, or one of the humans shooed her with a broom. The thing squawked and ran jumping in the air as if to attempt to take flight, but as usual, it failed. Shrill barks rang through the air as she darted through people, making a few of them drop their belongings as she sideswiped their legs. The thing didn't get far before she snared it in her jaws by the wing. She shook her head furiously, until it's squawking stopped and the thing hung limply in her jaws.

"Damn you, you filthy mutt!" A furious man scampered after her throwing things at her, slipping and falling as she ran under him and into the woods. The chicken was still in her jaws as she ran into a thicket. The man could be heard cursing in the distance as she settled in a brier bush and dropped the bird, panting. The thrill was exhilarating while it had lasted, but she knew as soon as she returned, she'd be met by that angry man or her disappointed owner.

All of the sudden, much to Amadarie's utter displeasure, a brisk wind, both hard and sure, took hold of her secondary feathers and yanked her off course. She was thrown to the far left and forced to flap madly several times just to regain her bearings. As she turned back around, angry...it became evident the squirrel was not in the same place as she saw it beforehand.

Melanie groaned, putting her paws on her head, feeling a bump starting to form and looked up at the sky.
How long was I out?
The cheetah staggered to her feet, wobbling slightly and then dashed up a tree trunk to gain her bearings. She walked across a branch and looked to the east, the wind gently tugging at her fur, the sun sinking slowly behind her. Her head snapped to her left as she saw some bushes ruffle. Her eyes narrowed, her claws digging into the branch and she lept off, in mid-air wings burst forth from her sides and feathers replaced her fur, her face becoming feirce. The falcon circled over the bush and peered curiously at it.

Shiro walked up behind the dog.
"Now if you know what's good for you, you will go back to those humans you came from. It would be better for all of us."
He was scared of the humans coming back to the forest. The reason he had been kicked out of his clan was because he was the one who would lead the attack on the human encampment. When he fell ill, his inexperienced kid brother lead the attack and caused many good foxes to lose their lives. Shiro was blamed for the occurrence by some twisted logic and false accusation, and was banished. He knew that if the humans came back again, it would be a dark day for any forest.

The pitbull's ears perked as she heard her owner taking up for her, but she lost interest quickly when she began to sniff the chicken. Its wing was ripped, its face frozen in place with glassy eyes and blood staining its white feathers. After a moment, she pawwed at it, and soon lost interest in it as well. Bronte crawled her way out of the thicket and looked around, the village in one direction... Behind her. She left the dead chicken in the bush as she took in the scene before her. Green trees, lush grass, and a few patches of dirt that zigzagged through it like a trail. Immediately, her nose pressed against the ground sniffing for anything interesting, noticing that the dirt paths were trails where the most trafficking of animals and humans alike were. A shadow loomed above her of another one of those winged things, but she didn't much pay attention to it. She figured it was circling over the chicken she left.

He began to prance circles playfully around Shiro and Lorazys as they walked.
It's so wild out here! I love it! Don't you guys feel it?!
Railu jumped over Shiro then ran infront of Lorazys and layed down infront of her with his hind section in the air wagging his tail.

Shiro's ear twitched at the word play. It was against his nature to refuse such an offer...
"Ehh... no. We have to be serious right now." He looked at the dog. "Playtime later."
He sighed and thought. Humans were the last thing the forest needed right now. They only brought trouble. He knew that too well.
"Well... the humans are a problem. They are going to have to be dealt with."

Well such is my inevitable luck, isn't it? Amadarie complained to herself. She tried in vain to relocate her prey, but when she could not find it, she decided to move on to better, more entertaining things, such as...such as a dog (the bosom compainion of humans) making good with animals of the forest. Every fiber of Amadarie's being shuddered. This was...well, this was unusual to say the least. She circled down lower to follow the dog and his buddies.

Railu stoood up and looked back and forth at Shiro and Lorazys.
Aww...Why not? Your no fun at all.
Railu pranced around the two again before noticing Amadarie coming closer.
Whats that?!
Railu barked at her, spun in a cirlce and backed up then barked some more. He was a little fearful at the fact that he had never seen a bird before, but he was extremely curious at the same time.
Hey! How are you in the air like that?!
Railu backed up some more doing some more circles; not knowing he was tangling himself up. After a few more barks the tangling reached it's limit and Railu fell on his face.

"You really are quite stupid, even for a canine.... though i suppose growing up with humans would do that to you.."

Lorazys ignored the rambunctious bunch and kept heading out west across the plains. That hawk won't follow much longer, anyways. No trees left, so just shut up you mangy human pet! She didn't know how long they had been walking, but they were still there behind her acting like a bunch of children. Lorazys growled to herself as she started getting a headache from it all. She laid down in the grass, bathing in the setting sun, never having been able to do that in the past, what with all the trees in the forest.

Kitt jumped into another small sapling, sitting on a lower branch he watched the she-wolf with curiosity...
"I thought you wolves where pack animals.... if so then where's yours, and why do you just keep going west?"

The dog was reaching the end of Shiro's wit. Either they could tear him apart right now, or just send him on his way with some scratches. He didn't know the meaning of survival.
But oddly he liked this wildcat, besides the difference in species. He seemed... how could Shiro put it... funnier than the rest.
"Yeah, Ms. Wolfess, you on a trip? Where are your friends?" he said, running up to a small boulder that was in the path and jumping up on it.

Railu untangled himself and got up and walked over to Lorazys and layed down about a yard away watching her intentivly.
What are you doing?
He began to imitate her, not enjoying what it was that he was doing. He had never cleaned himself before, he was always given a bath by his master. As that thought crossed his mind he stopped cleaning himself and just looked off into the distance. Railu was starting to feel fatigued after all the prancing about, but he didn't show it. He also felt alone even though he found new friends. Railu's youthful energy was gone, so he just sat there, with a calm look about him. He didn't say another word, just waiting for Lorazys to get up and walk so he could follow her.

Lorazys turned her head (she was lying down, cuddles) and glared at the fox and wildcat with extreme murder in her eyes to shut them up. She laid her head back down and sighed a little. At least that damned mutt finally shut his yap. Lorazys was too tired to chuckle but chuckled in her mind as she watched the dog imitate the wildcat in cleaning himself. She was tired and didn't feel like talking anymore. She watched the moonlight fill the treeless field with its brilliant light, and closed her eyes as she dreamt of a time when she was with her alpha, running around in the fields late at night...

"Thmpff mpfff?.. pleh!"
He mumbled somthing to the fox through his fur, before spitting out the dead fur and trying the question again...
"I said, I still didnt get your name Mr.Fox... I told you mine, you could at least tell me yours back..."
As he waited for an answer he jumped down onto the rock beside the fox, slender tail flicking elegantly on landing...

The pitbull plodded on for a little bit until the sun seemed to sink along the horizon. Looking behind her, she noticed the trail fading into the night. She had wandered too far and decided to travel again in the morning... Chasing chickens all day was hard work for a dog. For the time being, she plopped down on the cool grass and rolled around a few times before getting comfortable and taking in a long, drawn out yawn. She looked up to the sky as she laid beside a large oak tree. The wilderness was pretty at night.

Hmmm...if anything, they sure aren't much of a threat. Amadarie performed a bird equivalent of a shrug then dived down all the way, coming to a jolting stop in the grass. She flapped a few times to get herself to stop, then heaved herself upright. She was a two-legged creature, not a four-legged one...doing anything of substance on the ground? A total pain. The pitbull blinked. Then blinked again. Apparently, she had fallen asleep staring at the stars and the shadows of the treetops. Bronte yawned and stretched, enjoying the sun's warmth on her fur. She sat down and scratched the back of her ear groggily. She observed the grass where she had been lying. It was flattened out in an almost potato shape from her back. Without a second thought, she began to wander again. Her owner was probably worried sick about her at this point, but she figured what's the use in going back? She always caused trouble, and no one but her owner liked her. As she jogged along, her tail bounced back and fourth in rhythm with her steps.

Shiro asked himself which he would prefer to follow. The cat, or the dog intent on chasing down a full blown wolfess... it wasn't a hard decision.
He moved towards the stream, and noticed that there was a mouse about 2 inches from the cat's back paw. Kitt was so intent on the fish that the mouse had gone out of his periferal vision.
*Heh... I guess it was time to prove whether cats liked water or not* he thought grinning, letting his mischievous side take over.

Kitt leant forward ever so slightly, the tantalising trout swum just below the surface of the water.. a large fish, easily enough to sate his appetite.... Just as he was about to pounce on the fish a large, and very fast, fox collided with him, with a loud meow his pounce was knocked off balance....

With a loud splash he landed in the river, ripples raced across the surface, obscuring everything below the water.... several moments passed, before a very wet wildcat dragged himself, and a trout almost the same size as himself, out of the river... dropping the fish it flopped a few times, before lying still, shimmering in the sun... Kitt licked one paw, before looking up at Shiro with the hint of a smirk...
"Hilarious...."

It wasn't long until she came to a stream. Gratefully, she ran full speed jumped, and collided with the water. She stomped around splashing it everywhere and shaking it off, sending droplets showering onto the grass. Panting from all the excitement, she finally plopped down in the middle of the stream and did something that most dogs don't do... She stuck her head all the way up to a little below her eyes in the water and exhaled. Her face almost looked like a submarine; her pale blue eye and half brown half pale blue eye shimmering in the sunlight that danced along the surface of the water, and air bubbles rising from her snout underwater until she raised up to get her breath. In the distance, she spotted some other animals. Not knowing their intents, she continued enjoying the water by rolling around in it.

Shiro dropped the mouse in front of his paws.
"Hey, I helped you catch him, didn't I?" the look of the wet cat made it hard for him to hold back giggles.
He sat down and chewed on the mouse.
"You gonna sit there an be soaked or are you gonna try your prize?"

Kitt stopped, and looked down at the trout, then back up to the giggling fox...
"What... this? Oh this is nothing, once I caught a fish this biiiig!"
he sat up on his back legs, and indicated with his front paws just how large this fabled fish had been, and doing so he tumbled nose over tail backwards, and with an almighty ~sploosh!~ back into the river....

After a few moments he dragged himself back out, even wetter than before... eyeing the laughing fox with one bright amber eye he mumbled...
"Okay... I'l eat the darned fish now..."

Railu listened to Lorazys and thought deeply.
My master? She wouldn't do that...Would she?
He continued walking next to her still deep in thought. He was going to ask her name but he forgot about that, thinking only of what she said.

Shiro was rolling over upside down with laughter.
"HAHAHHAAA HA *snort* HAA HA!!! You are a funny cat, you know that?"
He layed there, belly up for a little while.
"*snicker* heh... you should eat that thing before you turn into one! You should SEE yourself!!!" He then lapsed into another fit of laughter.

Kitt dug into the trout, savouring its fresh taste.. he mumbled past his meal to the still laughing fox...
"Oh Canines, the epitome of hilarity..."
he swallowed a mouthfull of fish before digging into the trout again...
"Though... i must say... you are better company than that wolf..."
He swallowed again, smirking as he looked over at the fox...
"By which i mean, you didnt attempt to eat me on sight..."

Snickering. There was snickering from the silhouettes in the distance. Bronte dashed forward, splashing around even more. She loved the water.. But she wanted to know what all the laughing was about. As she got closer, she went belly down and into the water, almost looking like a soldier as she tried to crawl for a closer look. One of the things looked like a cat. That was another thing she liked to chase. And the other looked like a sleek dog with a bushy tail. She had remembered seeing one of those once, and her job was to chase them off from the village. All at once as if it were a natural reaction, she stood up and began to bolt at the dog thing. She barked and snarled, her sight set on the fox.

As Lorazys walked on, she smelled something delicious in the air. "Dog, stay here and don't move and don't make any sound, either." She got down low and slowly crept through the tall grass in the plains. Lorazys followed her nose and found a most delicious looking little deer, probably still a child. She quickly lept out of the grass and chased it right down. The little deer ran for its life, but Lorazys was a full adult wolfess, compared to the small child. Without a chase of more than 5 seconds, Lorazys pounced on it, biting hard and snapping the youngling's neck. Finally, I thought I might have to eat the wretched mutt if I didn't get any food soon.

Railu stopped as ordered by Lorazys, which he didn't know why he did. A moment later he saw her take off after a small deer, over whelmed with curiousity he he ran over to her after she took it down.
Hey, that was cool!
He pranced around her and the deer exitedly.
Aww man, I wish I saw it first, that looked like fun!

Lorazys snarled at the dog as she tore open the deer's flesh from its neck and ate it. So this is the result of being raised by humans. Completely ignorant and unable to feed yourself. Tch! She continued to consume the poor little animal and pretty much picked it clean. Lorazys got back up, blood smeared on her muzzle, and hefted up her front paws onto Railu's back and looked around for a stream or any kind of water she could drink, the hunt itself dried her throat.

Railu stands firm as Lorazys uses him as stool, uncertain why.
Again?! I'm a sorry excuse for a man! She's walking all over me!
He continues to hold her up as he ponders.
I have to do something to regain some form of my man hood! But what...
As Railu thought, a deer a little bigger than the one Lorazys killed showed itself in a thicket several yards off. He noticed and decided.
Aha! I can chase that deer down and prove myself a man once again! This is fool proof!
Without a second thought Railu got out from under Lorazys and bolted towards the Deer. Though before he could get very close his chain's rattling gave him away and the deer began to run. It ran across the plain as Railu got closer and closer to it; chain flailng behind him. Railu got close enough to jump at it, and he did. Though he over did it and went over the deer instead; as he did his chain manages to get snagged on a tuft of it's fur. Railu slowed down to regain momentum but quickly learned he would have to keep if he wanted to breathe. Every time the deer pulled away it choked Railu, so he kept up or choked.
Crap crap crap! Gotta end this quickly!

....There was no sign of the animals she had been looking for. Not a single peep. So the hawk simply trudged over to what seemed like a clear running stream, and, climbing up on a smooth rock, lowered her head underwater, letting her feathers be soothed by the cold current. Maybe this would jolt her senses just a bit. And the next time she found the animals...she wasn't going to be so nonchalant.

"Okay, this is just getting a little annoying... Kitt? Break for high ground."
He flipped over, bushed his tail out to about 2 times it's normal size, and scurried up a big boulder. The dog couldn't climb, he knew that, so he shouted from the top.
"Why are the humans sending their slaves to attack us, eh? Because they are weak maybe? I have half a mind to go and complain!" he was grinning while he said that.

Kitt didnt need to be told when to run... by the time Shiro shouted to him Kitt had managed to drag himself and the remains of the fish up a tree...
"Yes it is quite a bother isnt it... all this constant chasing and pouncing.... for once i'd like to just eat a fish in peace and quiet, without becoming someone elses lunch..."
With that he settled down on the branch, and continued to eat his fish, watching Shiro and the dog with mild interest...

When he climbed the boulder, Bronte barked a few times, then stopped. She looked at him and tilted her head. She'd never really seen one up close. She'd only seen them as a blur running away from her. She looked up to the tree with the cat thing in it with mild interest, then directed her gaze back at the fox. Her torso went down, her paws flopped outward, and her rump was stuck up in the air as she wagged her tail. She didn't really listen to what the fox had said.. But then again, she never really listened to what anyone said. She was waiting for him to come down.

"Yeah, I am talking to you, you mangey human pet! Shackled to ignorance! Heck, I bet that if I stay up here you will stay at the bottom of the rock until you STARVE to death! Come on! Have some life in you!"
He was getting a little bored of goading the dog, and it didn't seem like the mutt was listening to him at all anyways.
"Hey... I just thought of something..."
He went to the back of the rock, out of sight of the dog, reached up to a small overhanging branch, and ripped it off with his teeth. He came back to the edge and put the stick on a flat part of the boulder.
"You wanna play boy? Wanna chase the fox? Here!"
He snagged the stick, spun around in circles to get momentum, and let loose the stick.
"Kitt, what you wanna bet that this will work?"
Title: Re: From The Woods

The pit looked at the fox.. Still waiting, a bit unphased by the stick. She remembered a while back her owner tried teaching her this, but she didn't get it, and as the fox whipped around with the stick, she still didn't get it. Sticks weren't fun. As soon as you got them, they'd wind up as splinters. She sat up, her sights still locked on him and again, her head tilted inquisitively. The fox let loose of the stick and it soared over her head, landing somewhere behind her. Her ears perked, but she didn't move from the bottom of the rock. She wagged her tail at him, paying no mind to the stick. Finally, after what seemed to be a long silence, she plodded off and stood under the three with the cat thing and plopped her rear down, looking up at it, her tail weakly beating against the ground. She wondered why they wouldn't come down.

Kitt chewed intently on one of the fish bones, what had recently been a whole Trout had now been completely demolished by the feline... He looked down at the dog and cocked his head, wondering... Apparantly coming to an agreement with himself he looked back to the fish bones and continued to devour what was left of the fish....
"Dog.... you can talk, right? I mean, you may be a canine... but you cant be THAT stupid.."
The small cat smirked, looking over at Shiro...

"Just because I can talk doesn't mean I want to." Bronte finally spoke up after what seemed to be hours. She wasn't very good being social. She figured that out after all the chickens she'd killed or injured... Not purposefully of course. She wandered around back and fourth eyeing both the animals as if waiting for them to come down or for something to happen. The pit was fascinated having never seen these kind of animals still. She snorted at them, then sat firmly on the ground, convinced she was going nowhere.

Shiro exchanged the look with Kitt, and threw his paws up in the air mockingly.
"Oh my, the creature has a brain. Come on. Sitting there will do nothing for you. Look!"
He turned, jumped onto a more sturdier branch of the tree, and balanced his way over to Kitt.
"See? No trouble. You know you don't have to sit down their all day, waiting for uncatchable prey. A wildcat and a fox are too wily for the likes of you." He smirked.

Picking up her head out of the water, beads of wetness trailing down her beak, through her feathers, dripping down onto her great breast, Amadarie let out a happy sigh. Another beautiful day to explore, to venture, to...find those gosh darn animals that were acting so strange the day before! She extended her wings to their full extent, and with a great heave, launched herself into the air. If it was the last thing she did, the hawk WAS going to find out what was going on with her homeland.

Kitt finished chewing on the fish bones and curled up on the branch, he watched Shiro with one bright eye as he jumped onto the branch...
"Well... i'm gonna have a nap after that meal... wake me up if someone tries to eat me, there's a good fox..."
With that the single amber eye disapeared into the fluffy coils of wildcat as he aparanantly slept... the fact he was still listening to what was going on was given away by the fact his ear twitched whenever somthing made a noise nearby...

Lorazys sighed at the dog's failed attempt and chased after them in full speed back due east. It took a while, but she managed to catch up to them. With as much strength as she could muster on a fairly full stomach, she launched herself onto and off of Railu's back and tackled the larger deer. Though not intentional, the deer's neck snapped quickly as its horns snagged the ground first, keeping its head stationary and its body still moving forward. Lorazys ended up getting thrown off by the limp body's momentum and knocked over a fox and wildcat from the top of a boulder and landed on top of them.

"Wha? WOAH!!"
Shiro was underneath a huge mass of grey fur. He could guess who it was.
"Well well, if it isn't our wolfy friend. Would you mind moving so that my friend here and I can breath? It's a little tight under here."
Shiro tried wiggling out from underneath the mass of fur, but gave up after several failed attempts.
"You okay Kitt?"

Bronte walked on all fours and stood looking at the pile of fur. Now there were two dog things and the cat thing. She snickered to herself remembering the fox's earlier statement about an uncatchable prey. She then plodded over to the deer. She had seen one of these before, too.. But again, not as close up as she was now. She sniffed it's limp body. It was like the chicken she had caught earlier. She backed up a little, then charged, butting into the side of it with her head, and making it's horns loose from the ground. It tumbled over in response and she continued to explore the different scents it provided.

Railu had no idea what just happened as he got back to his feet and looked around.
Woah...What hit me?!
He saw the deer was dead and another dog was ramming into and sniffing it.
Aha! I did it! I killed the beast! I'm so awesome!
He pranced around a bit but his chain quikly tightened and cut his victory dance short. He stopped and went over to where the chain was snagged and managed to get it free. After the the only victory dance was in his head. He looked over his prize and then looked at Bronte. He then noticed the fur pile a little ways off near a boulder.
I wonder if she saw me...Wait, what do I care?
Railu looked back at the deer with a puzzled look on his face.
Now what...?

Lorazys got up with a grunt from on top of the fox and wildcat. "You two can afford to lose a few pounds. Your bulging bodies actually dug into my fur a bit. It took me forever to get my side fur all smooth." She walked back up to the deer and took a bite out of its stomach, the entrails falling out after she did. Lorazys ate the piece she bit off and spat some blood at Railu. "Next time, I'm not saving you from a rampant deer. Get stupid enough to get caught in it again, I'll enjoy watching you die before I eat you."

When Lorazys stood back up she revealed that Kitt had still not uncurled from his sleeping position... only when Shiro called to him did Kitt give a wide yawn, and stretch out...
"Mmmm... wassup?.. Oh, our wolfy friend has dropped by..."
He stretched again, licking his fur...
"And i'l have you know i do not need to 'lose a few pounds'.. i am in fact in pristine condition..."
With that the wildcat stretched for the last time, and then sat, grooming himself nonchalantly....

Railu stepped away from the brunt of Lorazys spitting at him, though it still got on him a little.
Hey! I could have done it myself, I had an idea until you ruined it!
He had no idea what to do now that the deer was dead, he always had his meals brought to him. Railu mimiced Lorazys and took a bite out of the deer's hind leg. It was more bloody than he was used to, but he seemed to enjoy it as he ate at the leg more with a certain ferocity.

Her energy and morale revamped, Amadarie had a new mindset about her: a new way of seeing others. Others could never simply adhere to her world, to her rules, to her life. They each had their own spirit, their own lives, goals and dreams. Amadarie could not expect them to just be as she wanted or as she imagined. The hawk continued onward until she spotted a hound chewing on the bloody remnants of a deer. Circling lower, she came to a hover above the hound's head, low enough to be heard but high enough to not be snatched from the air: "Good day there!" Amadarie called brightly. She hoped this could be the start of something grand.

Shiro scoffed at the wolf
"Are you calling me fat? I am not fat!" he said, twirling his tail in annoyance.
"You should loose a few pounds. Then you would know that my bones were what was poking you."
He looked over at the dog.
"Okay wolf. It looks as if that dog thinks your it's master or something. You have a choice, eat him or train him. Your pick."

Lorazys turned and leapt at the fox, growling. "I might as well train him first and then feed you to him as a treat!" Her fur stood firm from her body and her teeth showed stains of blood from her kill as well as on her muzzle. Her eyes became filled with rage at being insulted by what was normally her afternoon snack back in the forest. Lorazys eyed the wildcat as well, "Do YOU have any smart comments there, cat?"

Shiro paused, thought about what he had just said, then turned to the wolf.
"I apologize if I inuslted you. I was in a fit of annoyance. It is a little startling when a wolf flies out of nowhere and crashes onto a fox and a cat."
He turned back to the dead deer, took a nibble, made a face from his lack of fondness of veal, took another bite, then moved around to watch the dog try to be serious.

Bronte merely sat and observed everything going on around her. She didn't quite understand why everyone was on edge.. She looked up after taking her seat a few steps away from the deer and caught site of one of the birds that could fly. It greeted them.  She barked in return, but not in a hostile manner, more of a playful demeanor. The pit was silent for the most part, taking in everything. Taking note of the wolfess, the cat thing, the fox. They all seemed to know each other.. And they also seemed to hate the other dog. Bronte thought that maybe she had seen him somewhere, but dismissed it after she was puzzled.

Amadarie winced and clicked her beak at the bark. "Not the most literately speaking of beasts, dogs..." the hawk grumbled to herself before landing next to the hound. Kitt looked up at the enraged wolfess from licking his paw...
"Nope... for once i think witty comments are out.... though i do have quite a funny joke if you wantsed to hear it..."
The wildcat stopped grooming and flicked his tail twice... "Though i have a feeling jokes arent your favoured... cuisine... shall we say...."
With that he continued grooming himself, making sure he was out of easy reach of anyone but the fox.... a time came for seriousness... and when you where in danger of being eaten by a wolf... seriousness prevailed....

After he had finished grooming Kitt watched the others with keen amber eyes.... the situation was quite laughable, a fox, a wolfess, a dog and a cat... all in the same place..... standing he walked back to the rivers edge and sat on the bank, watching the whole goings on with mild interest...

The pitbull dropped to her belly on the ground, nose very close to the hawk, just looking. She had forgotten her pondering on the identity of the other dog, and scooted closer, crawling to the hawk, sniffing cautiously. She raised her paw, and softly poked the bird with it, quickly retracting it as if to test for a reaction. She meant no harm, she was only curious. Those things never landed near her, with good reason, too given what she often did with the chickens.

The feline cocked his head curiously, watching the fox....

Lorazys scoffed at the conversation going on behind her. Head south if you want, you idiots. It's nothing but humans on that coastline. The only solution is to head only west. Going any other directions just means the humans get to you and make you a head covering. Lorazys sighed, though, wishing the dog would go in that direction. He was so annoying.

Bronte wondered what was so bad about humans. Not all of them were bad. Her owner wasn't. But the man that threw stuff at her was. She tilted her head, looking at them all, and simply stated, "Not all humans are bad." She wondered what kind of looks or treatment she'd get from saying that, but she knew best, not all humans were bad.. But nor were they all good, either.

Kitt raised his paws in mock applause...
"The doggie talks!"
He snickered looking from SHiro, to the she-wolf...
"She's probably right... i guess... west it is then... and may we not end up as rugs in a human home...."
Kitt didnt actually know what a rug was... it was a saying his mother had used to say when he had been a lil' kitten... he flicked his tail twice, before jumping down from the boulder, looking west... he muttered under his breath, looking up at the sun for a brief moment..
"well... hey, ho and off we go..."

Shiro stopped and cocked his ears.
"Wait... did I just say south or west... cause I mean't west..."He laughed to himself. "I said south didn't I... I must be turning into a bird!" He waved his paws up and down next to him laughing.
"Maybe one of these days I will fly away!"

"Alright, road trip. Lets get this show on the road." He walked a few pawsteps and noticed the mouse he had caught earlier laying in the corner after the commotion. He went over, snagged it in his mouth, and continued following Kitt. At least they would be rid of the pesky humans.
On the other hand they were following a wolf. And a Wolfess for that matter. This was going to be an interesting trip...

Lorazys snarled a little in her throat, she really didn't like the sound of this ignorant mutt's voice. But... at least he's showing a little respect. "My clan had given me the name, Lorazys at birth. If you want to call me anything, use that name. I am the first daughter of the last Alpha, and my Alpha was merely my pet. I conquered my pack and clan, but that all disappeared the day that the humans came and killed us on sight."

Bronte felt like everyone was in their own world, as it seemed the cliques were already set as to who she'd be talking to and ignored by. Still, no one had much spoke to the bird either. Neither of them seemed to be making an impact on what was going on, so without warning, she bumped the hawk with her head, making it go onto her face and backwards onto her head as she began to jog after the others. Might as well do something... It was better than sitting there.

Kitt followed behind Lorazys, far enough away to not annoy the wolf, but close enough so he never lost sight of her and Railu... he walked softly alongside Shiro, slinking between the tall grass and bushes....
"So..... D'ya have a home your leaving?... Or you like me? A loner with no single home...."
He smirked, Wildcats by nature never settled in one place... he wondered how it was for this fox...

"Yes and no. My real home was farther north. My father was the leader of Fox Clan, and I was the eldest. I was to inherit it, just as we went to war with a badger tribe a little farther north. My father died and I fell ill just before battle. Stomach bug. Anyways, my little brother, who we all knew was crazy, lead the attack on the badger stronghold. He was the first to be killed in the battle. The clan blamed me, lead by my mother, they said that I skipped out on the battle because I was a coward. They drove me southwards. That's where I got all of this"
Shiro pointed to his scarring that was healed up.

Railu was sympathetic for Lorazys and her story, rather than give her a moment of peace he said something.
Oh...Um, that's a much better name than Miss Wolfy...Lorazys...That's actually quite-
He stopped and didn't say what he was about to, he thought it might have set her off. He felt she had a slight dislike of him and didn't want her to eat him, he still had a mission after all.
Erm...I'm Railu...If you didn't catch it...
After that he shut up, hoping she wouldn't ask him what he was going to say and eat him...

"Well... my ain' mother... she says... 'Kitt! Your a nuisance, a scallywag, and darn stupid cat! Gettout, and stayout!'"
He imitated the voice of an obviously female, and iratable feline... He smirked, flicking his tail twice...
"My older brother says it was the funniest thing he'd ever seen...."
he sighed, aparantly remeniscing on memories... "being a kitten was awesome, none of this responsibilty, getting pounced on by wolves..."
He sighed again, smirking...

Yelping with shock as the hound came up behind her and performed a strange manuever that ended even more strangley, Amadarie tried to gather her bearings once she saw she was newly on top of the beast's head and that they were running....Interesting. I think she's warming up to me, my plan is working perfectly! I can almost taste the revenge!
A smug look plastered itself onto Railu's face as he did a victory dance in his head. That is...Until he tripped over a rock. Though he quickly regained his balance and prayed no one saw what happened. He now walked beside Lorazys more aqwuardly, as if he were embaressed.

"Apparently West," she responded in mid-stride, catching up to the others. "I don't know what's going on other than people keep talking down about the humans I live with.. So I guess I'll find out.. Though, Jay is going to wonder where I've gone." Her voice seemed to trail off a little sadly in reflection of something, but it didn't keep her from keeping up her pace. She wondered about the other dog again, more about the wolf, as she seemed more touchy than them all. After a few moments, she was caught up with the cat and the fox.. She debated on trying to introduce herself or ask the wolf what was going on. As she trotted alongside the other two, she observed.

Lorazys didn't enjoy any of the next two days. Railu had been trying to impress her in various ways, while making a fool of himself in the process. The fox and the wildcat in the back wouldn't stop chattering, making her head hurt all the more. The one thing she did enjoy was her daily hunts. Game out here in the plains were apparently larger and more abundant, though sometimes, she felt there's no real replacement for deer in a buffalo. But it satisfied both her hunger and the entire group's. Lorazys kept to herself the whole time, not having said anything to anyone since she gave her name Railu, which she had now named in her mind, "Dirty Mutt 1".

He flicked his tail in enjoyment, keeping one eye on Lorazys to watch if she decided to start moving again...
The last two days had been enjoyable enough... Shiro was good company, even for a fox... the same couldnt be said for Miss wolfy of course...

Smirking kitt stretched again, boy the sun was warm out on the open plains....

Amadarie kept her wings spread and her head low as Bronte kept going. She felt an abnormal rush of adrenaline at the sight of the other creatures but didn't say anything. If she had to fly, she would. If not, in the meantime, this was very fun.

It had been two days, and Bronte had not so much as eaten anything despite what was offered. She hadn't quite understood the fact that you eat what you kill. She figured this was the time to introduce herself, possibly get food if the wolfess would let her, or at least ask. She started to approach the wolf, almost forgetting about the hawk on her head. With a second thought, she muttered to the avian, "If it looks like it'll get ugly, fly away birdie." In fact, she liked the hawk a lot more than the chickens. It was prettier and didn't rattle on about nothing like the chickens did, and often they heckled her until she got mad and chased them. She trotted up to the wolf, taking note of everything around her.

Shiro sat near the boulder with the cat laying outstretched on it. He was good company, and he could talk to Shiro without the two stopping. He was already placing him on the friend list in his head, which was about only Kitt. The wolf was pretty silent, killing the odd prey. They had traveled a while, but he had to always be on his toes. This was fox clan territory, and he knew that he needed to not be noticed. He seemed tense.

Kitt jumped down from the boulder, and padded over to Shiro...
"One problem with the plains... is theres no streams... in the forest you find a nice little stream, catch yourself a trout, stickleback... anything, and your set for the day.... out here... either the rivers a huuuge! Or theres no water at all..."
He started to walk ahead of the fox, towards a thicket of tall grass...
"I tell  you, all i would like to find is just ONE little stream....."
The feline jumped through the thicket of grass, and disappeared with a ~KA-splash~.... he reamerged a few moments later, sopping wet. Having in his own clumsy way; just fallen into the stream that had been hidden behind the long grass... he glared towards the fox with bright amber eyes and muttered...
"You will never mention that little incident of Karma to anyone... ever...."
He jumped up onto the boulder to dry the water off him by sunbathing, and couldnt help but chuckle slightly... "It seems fate does have a sense of humour at least..."

After Railu had sampled the Buffalo that time he could be seen running around the plains like a kid. He jumped into flocks of birds as they were on the ground.
Woo hoo! This is awesome! I love it out here!
The birds landed again, this would be the fifth time he jumped into the flock of them. He did it and they started flying around, though they didn't fly away...
That's it you little punk! Get'em, boys!
Huh?
The birds turned their focus onto Railu and started pecking at him. He started screaming and running away.
Ahh! Get'em off! Get'em off! I'm sorry!! AHH!!!

Kitt stretched out in the sun, is fur literally hissing in the heat...
"Yeah well... i reckon my fur will be dry enough in a moment... and then... and then i shall catch... *yawn*.. catch... a fish...."

Kitt smirked "Sure... but dont bother catching one for me, just get yourself one... i prefer mine still flopping.."

he yawned again, and rolled over onto his other side... sleeping withing moments, dreaming of freshly caught trout larger than a wolf.... He stretched in his sleep, the sun had already dried out most of his fur... he opened one eye lazily and yawned again.... actually, he was quite hungry.... he jumped down from the boulder, and shook what was left of the water out of his fur, padding over towards the stream to catch somthing....

Amadarie scoffed lightly at the dog telling her to take flight at the sign of trouble....she had lightning-quick reflexes as far as her wings were concerned, so taking off whenever wouldn't be an issue. She eyes her surroundings warily, then tried to make herself more comfortable atop her new 'little friend.' "So long as this stays interesting, then I shall stay myself. My life is to watch others."

Lorazys noticed Bronte heading towards with curiosity and caution. The wolf turned to her with just as much caution. Lorazys stared at the dog intently, with both her vigor and prowess. This one is much wiser than expected. I best keep my guard up. She walked up to the approaching dog. "What is it that you wish to speak to me about? You may be ignorant, but you are still a cautious one who can smell danger."

"Well, I'm Bronte, for starters," she said, plopping her rump on the ground, trying to ease tension, "And.. For food.. You eat other animals?" Her head tilted slightly, but not enough to disturb the bird. "I've always chased after chickens.. And I catch them sometimes.. But I usually eat what my owner brings me and the scraps that the cook sometimes gives me in town square.." She seemed to be beating around the bush in asking the question.. Because she hated to look stupid, "What does it taste like?" she whispered. The chickens always had a coppery taste to them when she caught them. Copper and feathers.. And she'd rather not eat something like that. "And why is everyone so on edge?"

Lorazys snarled at the question. "They taste how they taste. Our kind have always fended for ourselves, and that's how it's always been. This world is for the survival of the fittest. If you choose to starve, you die, and you die by yourself. After which, we pick you up and make you our meal. Life is simple as that. My kind is at the top of the food chain and we eat any and all. He sat down and started licking himself trying to ease the several pains on his body. After a bit of licking he noticed he wasn't near Lorazys, or anyone for that matter.

"OOps, sorry kitt!" Shiro said, attempting to stifle laughter.

Kitt pushed the trout off him, his fur yet again, wet...
"Well... when i said i like it flopping... i dont mean flopping on top of me..."
He smirked, not really minding too much, and sat down at the river bank... he waited a few moments before pouncing into the water with a splash.... wildcats where actually excelent swimmers, and often leapt into water to catch prey... he jumped back out, just as quickly with a loud meow, a large crayfish snapping its claws after him before sinking back into the water...

Kitt flopped onto the river bank, a small stickleback fish in his jaws... "All that for one measly fish?... Stupid armoured crayfish..."
With that he threw the fish up into the air, and then swallowed it whole with one swift movement.... with that he lay down in the grass, watching Shiro intently....

"I don't think they fear you.. I think they fear that you're not exactly giving us a lot of information." She looked up at the bird. "We don't have a clue as to what's going on other than everyone's on edge about going west.. And we're following, but we don't know why. They're following and they aren't one hundred percent sure why.." Her voice drifted off as she decided she was stepping into something she shouldn't have touched, and without any notice trodded off toward the wildcat and the fox. They seemed to be catching food. It looked like the things they sold on ice at the market.. And they tasted good. She remembered that much from stealing them. As she picked up  her pace, she looked up to the bird and asked, "Is the bird hungry?" before jumping into the stream, splashing the fox and the cat in the process.

Railu finally reached the others and sat down next to Lorazys and licked himself a bit more.
So...Should we keep moving? Or take a dip in the stream?
He waited for an answer from Lorazys, expecting a snarl in it's place. Railu had gathered she seemed grumpy...a lot, and if she was grumpy she would always be on edge. Which would mean it would be impossible for him to catch her off guard. Railu looked at Lorazys, standing back up and walking forward a few steps.

"You know, after you getting dunked so many times, I guess I deserve it a little too. Ready or not..."

Kitt walked up to the edge of the river bank, dodging the splash of water made by Shiro, and looked down at the fox.....
"I dont mind swimming... its just when i get a dunking... unexpectedly...."
He leaned slightly further over the edge, looking down into the sparkling water.... Suddenly he lost his footing and slipped.... Jumping he landed on a large stone that was in the centre of the stream...
"HA! No soaking for me this time!"
Irony was a word the poor beleaguered wildcat was becoming well used to... indeed, just as he shouted out his proclomation of victory, a large wave washed over the rock, drenching both the stone, and its now very wet occupant....

Kitt mumbled, his ears flat back against his head as he dripped... "I... Give up..."

The water was so roiled now that only the stupidest of fish would hang about. "Don't worry about me. I'll find you again, I can fly after all...." Railu sighed at being declined on his offer without even a word. He walked over to the stream and jumped in then climbed out. After doing so he shook himself off and slowly trodded off to a nearby boulder and climbed up on top of it. He sat down and looked around, first at Lorazys then the others then back to Lorazys.
There has to be some way...To get on her good side...Hmm...
As Railu sat there the moonlit night reflected off of his clean fur coat making it glisten brightly.
Maybe breakfast? Everyone likes breakfast, expecially when it's brough to them!

Bronte snuck off amid the splashes, watching the hawk take flight high up into the sky. There was no getting fish this time around. She had gotten too excited about the water to think about hunting proficiently. She wandered off to the closest thicket of bushes, curling up beside them, drying and eating grass to put something in her stomach.
