hero sits in the darkest cornor of the cell running his large paw across the wall

(yea, medieval setting, demons vs. all.)
Calin walks over to the holding cell and knocks on it. "Get out here, Hero. The world's falling apart and we need everyman we got left." He draws his 8 foot buster-class sword and runs it through the door, cutting it open. He tosses a broadsword and leather armor to Hero. "I'm your new commanding officer, Calin Freed. Take what you need from the armory, if we can make it. We're overrun by demons right now. Now move it, Private Hero!"
(Kinda reminds me of Gears of War. Lol.)

Calin smirks and runs along with him towards the infirmary. "We're gonna need to get our injured out, first. I want you to pave a road for them. I'll watch your back."

With great swings, Calin cut down demons by twos and fours per swing, while the medics rolled the patients through the pathway. He heard a scream and turned with his 45 colt and shot the head off a demon that came in through the roof. He thought to himself, "Damn, did not want to use that. Ammo's almost non-existent already." He ran a hand over the rune engraved on his sword and ran it into the ground, creating a small trench in the ground, dropping demons down. He yelled over the screaming and yelling as they reached the front door. "Hero! Hurry up there! This base is about to be sealed to close that summon gate!"

Rushes out the front and past the edge of the summon gate's ring. "Hurry out, now Hero! Once the gate is sealed, anyone within the ring will be killed!"

A clear blue dome covered the entire base and summon ring just a second after Hero dived out. Calin shielded his eyes as a large pounding sound flattened all that was in the dome and the gate was closed. He walked up to Hero. "Good going, private. Now let's get going, we need to get to the safehouse with everyone safely. No telling if bandits are in the way. Good thing we caught on to that witch summoning that gate ahead of time."

Osiris the Jackal strides into view, notices a stray demon and with a yip springs at it, biting and clawing with ferocity. The jackal may be small but can take on many things twice their size, so this demon is a piece of cake for Osiris.
