Okay, let's compare Lt. Surge from Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver to another easily recognizable character from a Non-Nintendo game.

On your left: Lt. Surge from Pokemon Heart Gold and Soul Silver.
On your right: Guile from Street Fighter 2, and alot of other Street Fighter games after that.

Meh... Nobody holds a copyright over green tank tops and camouflage pants. I doubt anyone's ever going to get sued over it.

Perhaps not, but the similarities are there. I mean, it's not just the shirt and the pants, but the boots, the belt, the necklace, I'd say they both have blonde hair, but Lt Surge had it before he became a Guile ripoff, so that's kind of forgivable.

I've seen some of the other character redesigns, and while some of them are okay, others are just  >:(.

You'd be surprised how many people/companies get away with character rip-offs of each other. *shrugs* It happens.

They're just trying to use army uniforms... and they both happen to have blonde hair - the idea of a uniform that they be the same...

the only thing different about them is the US flags. Pokemon has a famous history of being bad at designing things after its first load of stuff. So frankly copying is the only hope they have. They have plenty of grounds to sue, unless it's a parody... of a capcom character... which is frankly a parody in itself.

lots of places sue for less, but not many sue nintendo and come out with a win. but then that one company did manage to sue Sony for the rumble tech. This is no leap. Think of the whole edge controversy. If Tim Langdell can do it, Capcom can.

I agree with ShadoWolf. They don't look similar at all. The hair is different, and there is certainly a lot more detail in Guile's clothing and facial/bodily features.
