Sometimes I am. Where ever I go, trolls almost always get the better of them. It sickens me to see stuff like this everywhere I go.
I Basically have to redo the list because obviously I used naughty words.
Troll 1: Butthurt furry!
Furry 1: (Random furious insult.)
Me: *Sigh*
Furry 2: (Random uncontrolled post about how they are not like the stereotypes.)
Me: *Sigh*
Furry 3: (Replaces the "fur" part of the usual insult with Huma, probably to mean "Human-Loving Scum" or something like that.)
Me: *Sigh*
Furry 4: I hate you! I'm going to draw a picture of your character, and something bad is going to happen to him!
Me: *Sigh*
Furries 5, 6, and 7: Furrey Pried! Furrey Pried! Furrey Pried!
Me: *Sigh*
Furry 8: I am blocking you and deleting all of your posts so people won't see how much of a dink you are.
Me: *Sigh*
It's like this in alot of the places I go. (Note, I am just watching each conversation. The conversations have nothing to do with me, and are basically just examples of what I see pretty much everywhere I go.) Do you see this alot and sometimes feel ashamed of the furry fanbase?
Please do not post offensive troll phrases, even if being used as an example. There are a number of ways you can talk about it without using those kinds of terms.
WingedZephyr
Edit: Is that any better? Also, I replaced all the times I said Benny with me, because it just seemed weird using my characters name.

I've never witnessed a case where other furries make me ashamed of the community.
If people can't control themselves and be logical in their arguments (even with trolls), then that's their issue.
I wouldn't feel ashamed because of somebody else's actions. But that's just me.
Also, I mean the one person could be embarrassing and demean the community, but my problem would be with the one person not the whole community.
-
I feel shame for them that the person dosn't know how how to deal with trolls, but.....
It dosn't make me ashamed of the whole of the community in the least! ^.^
-
I'm not ashamed of the community because I dont really put much identity to communities. Communities are just a bunch of people and generally people act the same as other people.
-
Going off of Asia's words... I'll paraphrase something that I have learned as a "truth":
"People as a whole are stupid. A person is intelligent." From what I've seen, people lose their sense of identity and gain a "mob mentality" when grouped together. But when you retain your sense of self, you also keep a form of intelligence.
As a rule of thumb to all of those here: Trolls do things to aggravate groups of people (no matter who they are) for "fun", the best thing that can be done to get them away and keep them away is to simply ignore them. Ignoring them deprives them of the recognition they so desire and makes them move on.
-
And that, dear people, is why I like Vosur as a fellow person and as a mod.
He knows just how to say things and he's very sensible.
I didn't and couldn't have said it better myself.

I usually don't do that. I usually say stuff like "You're not annoying me, you're ammusing me." ... Then I ignore them. :P
-
And your recognition of them in the first place only gives them encouragement to continue on their behavior.
-
Really? ... I thought it was best to say "Yeah, whatever" and then ignore them. Plus, once I ignore them, they usually stop anyway, so I don't see no problem in saying a few words to them as long as you keep yourself under control and don't take the internet too seriously.
-
Any bit of recognition would entice the worst of trolls, if they left you be after your recognition... then they have some common sense. Not all of them do though.
-
I do have issues with furries that say, I'M NOT HUMAN. I'M A WOLF! SEE? I HAVE FUR! Which is complete bullcrap.
Those ones bother me. There are some furs that take this whole thing way too seriously. They do bring the this all on us.
I've also wondered what's the use of the fandom? I've even asked myself why would anyone want to dress as an animal. That's why my species thing says human.
-
The obvious answer would be that some people take it too seriously, but I'm not sure if that's always the answer.
A lot of people, anyone belonging to a taboo culture or minority in particular, witness everyday in the news, the internet, or in person some of the worsts of humanity. Eventually, someone could see themselves as so different than the horrible people they've seen that they deny that they could be a species that treats its own kind so cruelly. And as we all know, animals don't judge based on philosophy and sexuality. So, is it surprising that someone might want to pretend that they're that unjudgmental, simple, yet complex creature that they admire?
Of course, some furs may just like dressing up in the way that people might dress up for Halloween: just for fun or, might I dare, lulz. However, I personally believe that there may be this subconscious desire to be something else so desperately.
-
Why should anyone be ashamed of what they like?
I've had the wonderful quote "Yiff in *** fur**" said to my face. I just smile and think, I should care what some guy who picked the nick name Cheese seriously? He's now more of an acquaintance that happens to be at the local anime store.
People like what they like, sometimes you just can't help it. I'm proud to be a furry and I'll tell anyone that I am one.

Furry 9: Actually, I am not human, I am a kitsune.
Me: *Sigh*
Yes, I actually saw something like that in a video.

Not going to say much about the "I AM a 30 foot long fire breathing lizard" people, that might seem like a lot of people, they are a minority. Being a metalhead I'm compared to a Varg Vikernes. No seriously, the conversation literally flows like me saying I like Black Metal, I get asked "you burn churches?"
Who am I changing the subject, like that, I'm sorry, furs and black metal? I went skipping ahead there.
NEVER be ashamed of who you are, or what you are a part of. You might get a few who make the whole look bad, but they are part of the minority too, being part of that myself (fur/black metal, over here anyway) you know that you need to stick together, because it feels like that everyone is pointing fingers at you.

That chat made me LOL 0:
I'm not ashamed of the furry community personally.
I'm proud to be apart of it.
Whatever people want to do or act is up to them and smart individuals would and should already not be bias towards a group just from a few people apart of it.
:P
BTW; Since that troll used the term "Butthurt" I'm guessing its a /b/tard,
and those trolls hate pretty much everything.
xD
-
Nah I'm not ashamed. I'm a furry hanging out with a group of /b/tards at school XD
But even on here, I cannot break Rules 1 and 2.
I don't really think people fully understand what or how a troll works. you go into a group of a certain type, and say something to offend EVERY SINGLE ONE of them. After that, you leave and never come back while people reply, reply, reply with sad and, unfortunately, with comebacks (as displayed in said example) that are drowning in vats of failsauce. Stereotypes are created from ignorant people who like to think they have a full understating of something way bigger than they are based off inductive reasoning (see one example and assume the rest is the same). It's all part of human nature and it's rather sad.
-
I use "Butthurt" and I don't even know what a /b/tard is (4chan, maybe?)
-
I find it ironic that 4Chan has all these people whose job it is to hate everything, yet they have an image board for all of those things. I mean, they whine about furries but there's a bloody image board FOR adult furry artwork.
Not that hypocrisy on their part is surprising at all.
-
More than half of what's posted on /b/ is furry p0rn. They blame furries for what they deem is "the cancer" of the image board.
-
Ah, God bless comparing furry pictures to a terminal disease! Those guys are SUCH Hitlers!
If they don't like the pics, then they can have them moved to F sector. 4Chan tends to be full of reactionary bullies who post on youtube "I hate [insert minority here]" for the lulz, rofls, or sometimes the lmaos.
-
furry 3 and furry 4 seriously made me giggle :D
-
To me, really, the fandom is like having a favorite genre of film. In this case, the favorite genre is anthropmorphic. It's like how people have horror movie conventions and fan groups. And really, people complain about furries, I've seen people get obsessed over serial killers, and not one person ever says, "Hey, that might be a bit odd." In a world where people attack video games for violence, it's totally acceptable to find serial killers awesome, but liking Disney's Robin Hood is like saying, "I love satan and want to eat babies."
Weird.
-

Weird.
Probably because Disney's Robin Hood is basically a furrysized version of a non-furry story. Even though I like anthropromorphic animals, I don't like them when they are not needed or make no sense to the movie/show/video game. (For Example, Contra Hard Corps.) Wierd thing is, at the time, there were too many furry games, but now adays, there's not enough.

So true! I echo the thought.
