Title: Up
Post by: WingedZephyr on June 17, 2009, 03:47:43 AM
Anyone seen "Up"?

Personally, I think it was the first Pixar film I've ever really felt disappointed about. I think I enjoyed the animated short at the beginning a lot more than the actual movie.

I really liked it. I thought it was a great film. Doug and the other dogs made me lol. Not too many Pixar films are able to do that to me.

I did like the dogs, to a certain point. I found them very amusing. As I was watching the movie, I first thought the voice-box collars were a clever way of putting talking animals into the movie without making it too unrealistic or cheesy. (You know, like in the movies that use real cats/dogs and make it look like their mouths are moving.) But then that kind of got thrown out the window when the dogs started flying planes, and I wasn't amused anymore.

Yeah, I know it's a "cartoon", and yeah, I know the movie wasn't exactly realistic. But I still thought the part with the planes went overboard.

Well, I can agree.. And I do, fully WZ. Really it was okay.. I think it could have been better. Also, the beginning with his wife surprised me.. I didn't think Pixar would address it like that. But, the scene was good as it was adding to the plot.
